Customer Reviews:
I love this camera!.......2006-08-10
I purchased this camera because I wanted something inexpensive with which to send pics over the internet. I am very surprised at how good the pics are, and recommend this camera because it does an excellent job doing exactly what I want it to do.
I love this camera!.......2006-02-03
I got this camera because it is the smallest in the world, and I was just curious just how good could the quality be for being so small. It was really good. The pictures came out crisp and clear, and though you really can't compare it to the pictures from the top of the line cameras, but for its price, it is really great. And it is really portable. You can fit it in your pocket and not worry about anything, and take pictures wherever you go. Definitely worth every buck that I paid for, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an easy to use and portable digital camera.
A really great camera for a cheap price!.......2006-01-26
I was very reluctant when I saw so many rant posts about this camera, but I decided to go with my guts and made the purchase anyway. To my dismay, the camera worked great! It took good and bright pictures outdoor, and when indoors, you just attach the flash and voila! It takes great pictures indoors too. The people who are complaining that this camera isn't good just needs to read the manual. I read the manual, and it worked perfect for me.
For such a low price, this camera is worth every buck. And PS, because i am always on the go, so this camera being so small is really convenient.
Worst Ive ever seen!.......2006-01-05
I ordered this camera for my son for Christmas, with the information provided on the product I thought it would be great for my teen. After he opened it and got excited about such a cool looking small camera, we had him take some pictures. Everything was washed out and out of focus. We tried everything in the instruction book to see if it was our error. This camera is not worth the time or money it took to get it. My 8yr olds get better pictures from a cheap camera from Walmart. This is on it's way back!!! Dont even bother with this camera.
Hope everyone had a better holiday than my kid did!
looks arn't everything.......2006-01-02
When I first got this camera I thought it was a great camera because of its looks, size, and price. Then after trying to take pictures, I realized it was a piece of crap. It was missing a major part of a good camera- photo taking. The pictures it took were washed out by the flash and almost everything about the camera was bad quality. I tried everything to get a good picture out of it, but it never took one good picture indoors. I'm currently returning it and will never get another Oregon camera. I have two words for that camera "bad quality".

Customer Reviews:
A very good DVD player for the price.......2007-02-19
I bought this DVD player because it could play other region DVD's and the machine turned out to be a very good one. It has been playing all the formats and regions and hasn't given me any problem so far. I like it and would like to buy it again if I needed.
Perfectly good cheap dvd player.......2006-04-02
I got tired of trying to watch dvds on my playstation 2, so I was looking for a cheap dvd player that wasn't fancy. This astar fits the bill.
PROS
- price!
- list of features, including connection types, dolby, &c
- it's not ugly (and fits under my playstation and vcr nicely)
- plays dvds (haven't had any problems yet, and it's supposed to hvae some correction software to handle scratches, which my PS2 most certainly did not)
CONS
- remote doesn't have a wide beam. you have to point it more or less at the player
- dvd tray is quite flimsy. I'd guess this player is not good for those who have small or not-so-small children
- looking at the other reviews here, I'd guess the tech support is not exemplary
A funny story about my own stupidity: I was fiddling with the connection type and, because they have odd techincal codes, I accidentally set it to component when I have composite cables (bother, or is it the other way around?) -- the picture vanished. The manual swears that the two most standard connection types are always "on" -- but not so. Based on the pictures of the menus in the manual, I spent ten anxious minutes guess the path through menus "blind" to select the proper cable type. I won't say that luck was on my side, but methodical patience saved the day before my girlfriend came in and saw what a mess I'd made!
defective dvd player.......2006-03-20
The Dvd was defective I did not get the chance to see how it plays, however I liked the design. I sent it back in 2 days, I still have not received the refund.

Do not purchase this player. I thought this player was a great deal; it supposedly plays every format under the sun and has lots of outputs in the back. I received the first one and it played my VCDs as I had hoped it would, but it only played 4 out of 9 of the commercial DVDs I tried. The rest gave an error reading the disk or it thought it was some other format (DVD-R, etc.). Amazon was great and paid for my return shipping as I assumed I had a defective product. I got a new one and the same thing happened after 15 minutes of playing a DVD. I tried calling Astar's support during their posted hours and only got messages that no one was there. I'm going to send back the second one also (hoping Amazon pays for that as well). We bought a Sony instead.
Oh, and the CD/DVD tray is REAL flimsy, I was scared I'd break it just putting in the DVD.
A Great Deal !!.......2006-01-02
I bought this for myself to replace an older more expensive DVD player. I felt the price on Amazon was too good to let pass by. The Unit was Shipped fast (safely within 2 boxes) set up was fast, and easy. The Units remote is indeed what they say. ( It could be better) The buttons all work, but the writing is very small, against a white background. Also in a somewhat different config. than most other DVD remote controls. But in time one can learn to over come this problem. All the units operations work great, fast/slow/frame / hop / repeat/ resume / all work great. There is a choice of video pixilation. And this may be what people are taking about in other posts. The Video needs to be set to the correct frame rate of the TV. When bought the unit is set in default. * and in most cases that setting is fine. If this goes out, just hit the Video/Audio button on the menu. The power button, on the unit has 3 settings, On / Off / Stand by..
So all in all this unit is a Great Deal ! Why pay more !
