Good Package, Good Price.......2007-07-13
After doing some research and reading the reviews already posted, I decided to purchase this kit, and have been very happy with it.
First off, I should state that most of the photography I do is outdoor wildlife at medium range with a Canon PowerShot A80, which really takes advantage of what this kit offers. If you are doing close range photography or general picture-taking of friends/family, you may find that the kit goes unused.
The Opteka lenses included in the kit are excellent and add little-to-no distortion to the picture. The wide-angle lens includes a macro lens, which can be used by itself or in tandem with the wide-angle lens. The 2.2x zoom lens (the most-used lens in the kit for me) is clear and cleanly focused. When using this lens, you will definitely want to use the mini tripod included, as it will help stabilize the shot and eliminate any movement by unsteady hands. I have noticed some slight aberration around the edges of photos when the lens was used, but the untrained eye may not notice.
Of the three filters included, the polarization filter is the only one I have ever needed or used, which is appropriate since I shoot outdoors; it can rotate in its seat when attached to the lens adapter to obtain the proper polarization angle. I cannot say anything about the UV and fluorescent filters, as I haven't used them.
The mini tripod works well on top of any flat surface -- I have even used it on the roof of my car for those telephoto shots. It quickly screws into the base of the camera when needed, and adjusting it to level the camera is easy enough, despite being placed on an uneven surface at times.
I haven't had use of the full-size tripod yet, but I have extended and inspected it -- for a basic tripod it seems pretty solid.
The camera bag is nice, and in addition to my camera, it holds all the equipment that comes with the kit (except the full-size tripod). The interior pockets are adjustable; it comes with a shoulder strap as well.
The lens adapter locks securely into the camera; there is a little rotational play between them, but not enough to be a nuisance.
Overall, the kit has extended the range and usability of my PowerShot A80, which by itself is a fine digital camera. If you are an amateur photographer like me and need a few more options when taking pictures, this kit will satisfy.
An Excellent General Purpose Kit for the Canon A520.......2006-01-31
After 50 years of technical and family photography, starting with the Leica IIIc, I encountered the Canon A520 after I purchased it for my wife. This kit is a perfect extender for the A520, expanding substantially the range of possibilities for the camera from close up to telephoto with all the equipment you need. I can conceive of few situations outside the range of this kit - but only for the most specialized purposes. All of the accessories are carefully protected and fit nicely in the carry bag furnished with empty pockets available for more. All I can envision as useful applications for this camera will be possible with this kit. Most uses for the A520 will be performed by the camera alone. So only the A520 will need to be carried most of the time. The beautifully designed and very sturdy bag will protect the well packaged accessories just fine. And this bag containing everything but the (sturdy and well-made) larger tripod can be safely kept almost anywhere. Now I also use the accessories with my A520! The price is most reasonable for this comprehensive kit. Look in your A520 instruction book for a description of how to mount and unmount the external lenses on your camera. It was not obvious to me without the instructions.
Low quality -- just buy a better camera for the same net price.......2006-01-29
I had basically the same set with my earlier model Canon (same company and same specs) and I have to say, I was disappoined with the quality and design.
Problems:
1. The lenses blocked the flash and the viewfinder.
2. The telephoto lens had barrelling (much more than I anticipated).
3. The system is bulky.
4. Again, when you want to use the wide-angle lens (usually indoors), it blocks the flash and so you end up with a bad picture.
5. After you find out you are disappointed with the set, you probably won't be able to get back more than 50% of what you paid for it.
6. The cameras this lens set is supposed to go with are not designed with lenses in mind (even though they made it so you can add them).
Basically, the set is ONLY for any type of decent use outside. The pictures I got with it outside were decent (hence 2 stars, not 1 star), but...
If you are really set on getting more zoom, GET A BETTER CAMERA. There are several cameras that are out in the market now with 10x & 12x zoom (plus a stabalizer built into the camera). Also,
(cost of your camera + cost of this set) > (cost of a new/better camera with higher zoom).
There are also cameras with a wide-angle zoom lens designed into the camera. So, why not just go with the better quality lens(es) in the camera in a more compact design?
Below are some cameras that are looking pretty good with higher zooms than the standard 3x or 4x zoom and are also at good prices on Amazon:

These are the best priced cameras with higher zooms that I have found on Amazon. There are also many many more cameras that have more megapixels (up to 8 MP) and zoom (up to 12x), but prices also get higher with those cameras.
As advertised.......2005-10-20
You get what they told you would get. I just didn't know what I was buying, so it's my fault that I'm not super happy with it. I initially only wanted a telphoto lens, but I could only find it for about $80 or more (even the Opteka one is like $60), then I saw this packcage for $110 or something like that, with 2 tripods, a Samsonite carrying bag (which should be like $20 just right there) the telephoto lens, the wide angle lens, 3 filter lenses (that I still nee to learn what they are good for!) the adapter (which is included, even though you don't see it on the list). That's another $15-20 compared to the Canon one (which I had, and don't like as much, the Opteka one is more sturdy and the color matches the camera, not that that really matters to me, but it is silver like the camera and like all the other parts, vs. the black plastic adapter from Canon).
So, great price, great value and they look of great quality too (read reviews on the individual lenses).
Now, I read about the adaptor being so long (to fit the camera lense when you are zooming it needs to be so) but then if you are shooting inside and using the flash...you will see its shadow in the shot! Depending on the brightness you may see it more or less, but you do see it...so if shooting with a flash is a must for you, you will have to also buy the external flash.
The telephoto is fixed...so you get x2 right away, now your camera zoom will take you from x2 to x6 (instead of the x1 to x3 that your camera comes with)...but you can't go back to x1 obviously without taking the lense off, which takes time and wouldn't want to do it without a profer surface or you risking dropping your camera or the lense (I can see me doing that at the border of a big cliff!!).
The wide angle lens (I never used one before) is 0.45, I didn't know what that really meant...now I know...you get about 25% more area in your shot...really not a lot...I guess for family photos with reduced space and when you want to fit in that last fat cousin at the end...well it may come handy...but really...don't think I'll be bothering much with it...and that's the point of my review, the x2 zoom once you see it...is not all that much and since you can't get back to x1...and makes the camera so bulky... I have the feeling those lenses will be staying at home most of the time...the tripods are nice, I really like them, I can see me using those for birthdays and holidays taking family shots, but the rest, even with the great price... I'm not sure was worth it.
I read some reviews about the lenses not fitting the camera all that tight... not so for me, they fit perfectly, you do have to be careful and gently when you screw them in, otherwise risk damaging the thread in them. Ahhh, it comes with some plastic screen covers for the camera digital screen... I haven't used them but they seem like a good idea. The Samsonite bag is cool, you can fit everything in there including the little tripod (not the big one of course, but it comes with its own nice bag), but obviously it's a bit big to just carry around if you are like me and tend to leave the camera behind rather than carrying a big bulk with you every time. Again, great value (compared with the rest of the market) everything does what it's advertised to do, it looks and feel like great quality, so you can't blame Opteka. I just don't think I will be using this much, but hey, it was only $100 bucks and it'll be there when I want to play to be a photographer.

The kit included many items for a great value. However, I liked the wide angle lens the best. Using it gave me more per frame while still maintaining the clarity. The telephoto lens was a disappointment. My pictures were not sharp or very clear when using the telephoto lens. The tripod that came with the package was a bit flimsy in construction, but I did like the carrying case for it. The camera bag that came with the package was too large for my use and had a broken zipper on one end, although it seemed like a nice case otherwise. I did like the filters and the conversion lens. If you already have some items from the kit, it would probably be better to buy what you want individually.

Everything you need to upgrade from amateur. Was pleasantly surprised at how everything came together. Apparently the kit is so standardised it can fit on most cameras outside of what is specified, once you have the right attachment. The wide angle works well, but i was a bit dissapointed with the telephoto lens. What they dont tell you is that the wide angle lens is a 2.2 lens, and gives similar zoom as a 2.2 telephoto. I would not buy the 3.2 telephoto lens if I had the choice again, but definitely would buy everything else.

The HL-6050DN from Brother International is a monochrome laser printer with a large paper input capacity, built-in networking, automatic duplexing, and PC and Mac compatibility. It provides print resolutions up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, as well as print speeds up to 25 pages per minute.

I love this printer. It's fast, toner life is amazingly long and the toner price is a lot lower than other competitors. Overall this network printer is the best value for your money. HP, Sharp are overpriced and worse in performance compared to comparable brother like this one.
I had both in the past. Both disappointed me badly.

This is the best Med-size Laser printer in the market. I was a big Hp fan. I own a small business and had the opportunity to try almost all med-size laser printers out there. This is by far the best printer ever. The quality o the product is amazing and the built is wonderful. I set it up in less than 10 minutes and was connected to the network in less than 15 min. The toner life is amazing and the speed is ipressive. This is by far the best med-size laser printer I've seen. Do not buy HP anymore. They lost their edge with bad quality printers released lately.
