Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.

I've read a lot of the complains on this dvd player but mine works just fine going on two years now. it plays like a dream but because of the dual combo it's very bulky but it fits fine on top of the tv. never had a problem with it not playing store bought dvds or cds however when i try to play dvd-r it might take a minute to load. but when i burned a movie off my computer on a regular blank cd it played like it was store bought quality and much cheaper than purchasing dvd-r

DVD player stopped working after 6 months of fairly light use. Cleaning disk didn't help.

as for the previous complaints on the vcr; simply do NOT put another component (or anything heavier than a dvd or tape) on top of the unit. i did this at first and vcr was practically unusable but now works decently

The 1st unit we received was broken on the DVD side. After exchanging hassle and shipping back. The new unit starts breaking after 6 months. The DVD quality sucks, VCR has never worked right....

I got this for my birthday since I wanted a DVD player, but also wanted a VCR for all the VHS tapes I still have. This seemed like it was perfect, but I was proven wrong eventually.

The DVD player: When I first started using this player, I used this and it was fine. I noticed every few minutes, there would be a weird noise on the TV, but after awhile I was able to ignore it. The picture was nice, and it also played VCD's, so I thought everything was set for me. I was wrong...

The VCR: This is the problem here. I never thought to test this out right away, because in this day and age, people should know how to make a VCR. Apex fails at doing this though... I went to watch a tape a few months after I began using the DVD player. The result was in every single tape I played having horrible sound, and the picture bouncing. Because of this, the whole point of owning this player is gone.

I was lucky enough to return it and get a gift card back at the store it came from. I would do yourself a favor and just stay away from Apex products. Sure, some people say good things about them.. however the majority say they make crap products, and they do, I won't bother buying anything else from them again. You can get a DVD/VCR combo player from a better company for about the same price as this, so just get something else instead. It just isn't worth saving 10-20 dollars.

Great Card / worth the cost!!!.......2005-08-22

When I was looking for a high grade rs-mmc card I read many reviews. In almost every catagory the APT would come out on top, and when it was put throught the tests of durability, it was unbelieveable what this thing can take, water, mud, stuff you would never expect to happen to a memory card, but you known would happen. When I recieved this card I was even more pleased with this product.
