Good Overall.......2003-07-07

The rechargeable batteries are extrememly hard to install. Eventually (after breaking one of them) we figured out that the back clip needs to be removed before the battery plate can slide off easily. No directions whatsoever regarding this.

The units float around a bit in the rechargable units - you have to tinker with them a bit before they make contact and start to charge.

Lastly, the plastic packaging is that industrial strength variety -- very difficult to open -- and the plastic is not recycleable.

How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The 512MB Compactflash 12X Hhscanada Only, like most 512MB cards, will store on average 568 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 426 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 256 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 204 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 160 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

AMAZON shoppers beware of the cheap NIC trap. Opt for a NIC that is both dependable and configurable. That card is the 3Com SOHO100. A 10/100 Meg card with virtually everything going for it: Built-in encryption, on-board auto-configuration, and an Microsoft and user-friendly interface to adjust to your networks specific settings. Easy to install and extremely dependable. These cards work!

The is no justification for buying a bad (or "value-priced") NIC card. Buy a dependable 3Com and your network will thank you!

Excellent NIC for the money.......2000-10-09

3com is the name of networks in terms of NICs and connections. If you want easy, reliable network connections for now and the future, you want this. Everything you need is in the box. Just install, turn on your system, and use! It's that simple. The product isn't listed for Win2000 anyway, so if you are running 2000, don't buy this! (Anyway, 98SE rox!) So in the case of the Win2000 complaints, It's your own fault. 3com does make a NIC for you! Just go and search some more! Also, if you do buy this, I do believe that 3com does have drivers updated. Anyway, it's a terribly wonderful product! Go 3COM!

I paid a premium for this card and don't understand why 3-Com hasn't released Win2K drivers. What's up with that 3-Com?

I bought this card about a month ago with the expectations of this card being the best. Well what can I say, the driver support is bad, since the card has been released no new drivers were released and still there is no support for Windows 2000. This card is over rated and over priced, one can by an Intel network card for half the price with the same performance and Intel drivers is updated frequently..
