Two years without a glitch.......2007-01-03

I've used this for about two years now and haven't had a single glitch. It's been plugged into both Macs and Windows machines without a problem for either one. I even slightly bent the metal end of the USB plug and it still worked fine! I only wish it was bigger. But two years ago 256 MB wasn't seen as being that small and it was a bit more expensive than now. Not sure if the newer SanDisk flash drives are this good, but this model has convinced me that I'd probably try them again.

This was the first flash drive I bought, and I liked it enough to buy a second one. I've since given both of them away, as I am using a 4GB other brand with a retractable plug in. However, I'm buying a few more of these right now, so that I will have them on hand to give to student advisees who really need one, as they are so inexpensive. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5-star rating is that the caps are easy to lose, altho each drive comes with two extra caps, which helps. The slim line also makes it very easy to carry or store, and it fits easily into USB ports that might be a tight squeeze for other brand flash drives.

Where to put your thumb..........2004-01-17

I recently bought an Xbox, after considerable time on a PlayStation. Perhaps the biggest change issue I had was that the Xbox's Controller-S is bigger by far than the PS2's. I have small hands and after a few days of acclimatization decided to look for something a bit smaller. This controller, the MicroCon was my first selection.

Oddly enough, the MicroCon is almost too small. My thumbs cross in the middle, and in a fast game I sometimes switch back to the larger controller. But for most of my use (playing Morrowind) the controller puts things under my fingers. I haven't notices any performance difference, and I'm not a violent player, so durability seems fine.

Unfortunately the size does introduce an element of hand strain that wasn't present in the (for me) more awkward Controller-S. Because of that, I can't give it a wholehearted recommendation. If your hands are small to the point that the Microsoft controller S is a real problem this might be just the ticked, though.

I do like the macro capability, although I had to figure out how to use it on my own. I don't like the fit of the memory sockets, though - just a bit too loose. So I'll continue to look for something better for me.

Do not buy this controller........2002-06-04

I bought this controller the same day I bought my xbox. After a week of playing on it the right trigger wore and stuck. I returned the item to where I purchased it and got another one different color. A week later the right trigger wore and stuck, i returned the controller once again and got another one different color. About a week later the right trigger began to stick yet once again. I then returned the item paid the extra 5 bucks for an OEM controller which I have now had for quite some time now. If your looking for another controller for your xbox dont buy this one. Pay the extra 5 bucks for the OEM controller.

Read this before you buy.......2002-03-11

I bought one of these after receiving the xbox for christmas. I loved the slim design compared to the standard xbox controller. After a while I noticed the A button had a mind of it's own. I play Amped alot and to do a trick you have to hold down the A button (I think), and with out letting off the button the controller did it for me leaving my snowboarder laying flat on the hill. I can deal with this problem even though it happend often. What I can't deal with is........ One day I was playing (you guessed it Amped) and I was using the right thumbstick to do the "grabs" when the sucker just broke off hanging lifelessly in its little socket!! I strongly recommend that you don't buy this controller it is a piece of junk. In a month or two Microsoft is supposed to release the Japanese version controller. Supposedly it is a slimmer version of the standard one that came with your Xbox. Wait for this one to come out. Or you will be sorry.

I'm not used to saying this, but this controler is VERY good. The rubberized grips are very nice, but i had a hard time with the "macro" button. But its bargin price and the fact that it's smaller than most others [cough] official controller [cough], it's worth the money.

Compared to the Controller that came with Xbox.......2002-01-28

This controller is a little slimmer than the one that came with Xbox. It fits in the hand better for the throttle triggers, the A, B, X, Y, white and black buttons, and the cross D-Pad is much better and easier to use than the one on the Xbox controller. The right analog stick is further in the middle from the right thumb making it hard to release your thumb from the buttons and push right on the stick.

For example, in Amped I found that I would be pushing left on the right analog stick a lot because my thumb is coming from the right instead of from on top like the Xbox controller. Halo is harder to aim and fire at the same time.

I find it nice to own 2 different controller types, plus Mad Catz controllers have cool colors. Bottom line, if you LOVE the controllers that came with Xbox then just buy another, but if you're looking to get something a little different then this is your choice. The price difference between the two should not persuade you.

Slow, Out-of-Date, Great Size/Weight.......2007-01-13

At the time we purchased, this was about the only reasonably priced small, lightweight external hard drive available.

It works as promissed, but the driver extensions weren't bundled with it and we had a hard time getting them from the manufacturer.

If you're looking to buy now (2007), look for something that uses the newer USB 2.0 as this one is quite slow with USB 1.0.

I purchased this phone when Amazon. com was running a rebate special--the phone's final price was ($$$). Well, the phone is worth about ($$$)! It does have some nice features such as digital spread and speed dial. Plus, the design is rather compact. However, the sound is not too clear and calls get dropped. Furthermore, this phone constantly caused my phone line to stop working (granted, I also had a computer and answering machine hooked up). After a few months, I decided to buy a Michael Graves phone from Target (also available through Amazon)--that phone works perfectly and my phone line is in tact!

BAD PHONE.......2002-08-01

This phone was bad from the start. It had an ecoh sound and the range was only 50 feet before it started to have really bad audio. It refused to connect with the base often (BEEP BEEP). The power plug would spark when plugged in to the base. Then it would refuse to charge. I charged the battery manually for a while but now it won't come on at all, it just gives it's familiar "beep beep" error sound. I spent [alot of money] on this thing new and I'm [mad].

I purchased 2 AT&T 900 Mhz DSS phones and was disappointed that after 2 months, both handsets were not communicating with the base unit.

The handsets establish an open connection and tie the line up, but I can't get a dial tone. Its nice to hear the phone ring, pick it up, and get nothing. I would stay clear of this one.

cheap phone that works........2001-05-31

Well I got this phone at (store name) on sale for $. The price was right. It is cheaper than the old 9400 that I also have. The sound quality is very good. You have to turn the ringer on off by electronics but I have not found a good phone with a on off switch. I got mine for next to a computer. Well, none of them work well next to a computer. But for the price of this phone, it is a steal. The spectrum technology gives you a lot of freedom that other phones do not. I had tried a Bell South but it had to much noise. Uniden has the best record out there but how do you turn off the ringer?? Well, If you can not turn off the ringer the battery goes dead. Ok, this phone is very junky but is there a better phone out there? Read the book. They all say stay away from computers. Well, This one will work. Not perfect, but it works.
