these is one CD player you might want to get the good part is it is that it is anti skip the bad part is that it is vary expensive. its great for traval and it has a hard exoscolten body that is hard to break. Who would want to use it- Travalers, joggers, and sports men why would some one use it- It is a very high Good part - anti skip protected bad part - very exspensive

Awesome Machine.......2000-05-04

This "rig" is awesome. I've been following the reviews here; never been able to locate this machine in a store to see it or test it. Aiwa's site had a different picture than the one on Amazon, so when the last review came in and I noticed Amazon took the photo down, I went ahead and ordered one. Typical Amazon service: 2 days and it was in my house! This is a truly dynamite music "machine". I've been using MiniDisc for a couple of years now. This really simplifies recording and editing. And the radio tuner is great. Super sound.

The best stereo I've ever had.......2000-04-02

When I got this thing out of the box, I was disappointed to see it looked nothing like the picture on Amazon.com. But when I turned it on and heard the crisp clear sound from radio, CD, and MD, I learned this was nothing like I thought it would be. Recording MiniDiscs is a piece of cake. It took me five minutes to read through the manual about recording them, I was off to making my first mix MiniDisc! Erasing, combining, titling, dividing, and changing the order of tracks is as easy as pushing a button. Just like that!

The MiniDisc is a big advancement in digital audio. It's ultra compact size is made possible by ATRAC (Adaptive TRansform Acoustic Coding). The ATRAC system automatically extracts only the frequencies that are actually audible to the human ear and cuts the frequencies which are inaudible. This compresses the amount of data to be recorded to 1/5 of the normal amount.

Now I know that the Aiwa CSD-MD5--with radio, CD player, and MD player/recorder--is the best stereo I've ever had.

Small but powerful!.......2000-03-29

This is one of the coolest things Ive ever bought. Its opened the door to me to create music any way I like too. The mini disc player is really cool. Its a very powerful system for its size. Excellent bass too. I also like the front loading CD player, a very conveinient feature. It has all the neccesary controls to edit the music you create so you dont have to purchase any other accesorys {accept for the mini discs}. I love the display on the front its very crisp looking and gives it an ellegant style all to its self. I really wish I could have found this product sooner , its been so much help to me. My friends think its awesome too. Its very portable accept you need an outlet wherever you go. Aiwa has always had a good line of products.

This is a high quality sound system thwat everyone can enjoy! I bought it so that I could enjoy the excellent sound of the mini discs, but ended up also enjoying the easy tuning of the radio, no skip playing of the CD's, and the awesome bass levels! This is a great machine for anyone who wants to enjoy good music!

I boought this product to use at my gym, and it failed to pick up the signals from the in-house broadcast system. It also had a very awkward opening for inserting tapes. I ended up throwing it away.

I found that the infrared system was a joke at best. They say 15 feet in complete darkness, I think maybe 15 inches!...I have a friend who bought a different brand and he was real happy so I know there are better systems available. I wish I would have spent a little more $$$ for the good stuff.

Atlantis Underwater Camera.......2002-02-28

I was not real impressed with this product. The camera has to be maneuvered to get a good picture. You cannot see anything when it starts to get dark. I thought I would get a clear image of fish, instead we find ourselves staring at the screen saying "I think I might have seen one". I have seen other underwater cameras that give a much clearer picture.

DO NOT BUY!.......2005-12-24

The TEAC harddrive I bought failed after 1 month of minimal use. The data was on the hard drive but it took 2 months of e-mailing and calling to actually get a service rep on the phone and then another month of haggling to get the HD back with data intact (since their policy states they are not responsible for the drive). The problem was the controller, which blew again 3 weeks after getting the unit "repaired". This time it took 3 months before any e-mails and voice messages were returned and only because I finally when through their sales number. Once again I got the unit back although they had formatted the Hard Drive despite a verbal AND written request to contact me if the "repairs" would require a wipe of the data before any irreverable action (so I could get a professional to save the data instead). It's been another 2 months with no replies to my question of if the HD was formatted or replaced (leaving the whereabouts of my sensitive data in question).

Product is Great, but Linvobit/Amazon service is TERRIBLE.......2005-04-19

This is a terrific product, but Buyer Beware: Lingovbit has provided bogus contact information to Amazon, and even Linvobit's own website does not have valid contact information--the email addresses are all bogus. If you have any sort of problem, Amazon will tell you to contact the seller directly, even though Amazon took your money, and then you will learn that Lingvobit is impossible to contact. Amazon will then tell you again that you need to deal with the seller, and will not contact them on your behalf when you tell them you cannot find a way to do so yourself. I loved the first one I ordered, and was ordering one for a friend, who then changed her mind 10 minutes after I ordered it. All attempts to cancel it failed, and now I will have to wait literally WEEKS for my refund... plus, I will have to pay to ship the thing back... I would find another source for this otherwise excellent product...

I researched 36" TVs for many hours on the internet and visited many local retail stores to compare picture quality and features. This JVC's sleek, silver-designed model has the most crisp, clear picture when compared side by side to Toshiba, RCA, and Philips. If you want clearer, you'll have to go to the Flat Screen ($$$$). If you are looking for a great, affordable 36" TV - this one is very versitile, allowing for many picture and sound control options to accommodate most anyone's perferences.

Picture Settings - Low and High color temperature settings in addition to 5 other types of settings - you can set them very precisely to get the picture that best pleases your eye.

Theater Pro - Gives you a clearer, more vibrant picture for watching movies in the dark. For regular cable program viewing I turn this setting OFF and view in STANDARD mode for the results I prefer.

BBE Sound - When ON, this is great for special effects in movies and DVDs - the sound is specatular! However, I have found that turning this feature OFF while "channel surfing" helps tone down the distinct volume differences you hear between channels and during commercials.

Surround Sound - Same comments as above. We have the option to turn it ON/OFF.

If this TV had automatic sound leveling (to ideally tone down those annoyingly LOUD commercials) - I would have given it a 5-star rating. However, I have been able to adjust the bass, treble, BBE, and Surround sound settings to my satisfaction to compensate. I like having so many options to adjust the picture and volume quality just the way I like it. The picture is superior and beats any other make or model in its class. It's a great buy!
