Battery Dead After Four Months.......2007-07-28

I did what the others said to do when I first got this for my son. After watching a full length feature dvd with it plugged in, I shut it off and unplugged it. At first the battery lasted 5 hours. It was great! But it started to hold less and less of a charge. Now it won't hold a charge at all no matter what we do. It will still work on dc but I needed this for my son's 1 1/2 hour bus ride to school, and he cannot plug into any outlet on the bus, so we're back to square one in finding him a durable dvd player for that long ride.

Cumbersome to use, but good quility picture and fair sound. Can attach it to a TV for a larger picture. I however use it rarely because I now use my vedio IPOD which can do more with much better quality for home, and offsite program displays for differant organization.

I like this model of player for ease of use for younger children, in fact it is the second one I have purchased. But I cannot rate it as high as I would like due to the fact that both players have had problems with the "door" getting too loose and it then will not signal the DVD to start playing. I have remedied this by holding it closed with a clear elastic band. A big pain. They need to make a better latch.

I liked the screen size and the clarity of the picture. I did'nt like the fact that it does'nt come with a remote control,and the ff control on the unit ca'nt shuttle scan disk. it will only take you to the next chapter!over all a good product that could be better!

WHY buy anything else.........2001-10-05

The XP-P7260c, is great. It comes with everything to play in your car (if you have a cassette deck), and yes a AC/DC adapter for the home. The only thing i dont really like is the vol knob is a little too small to turn, which makes it hard to reach. Other wise, it will never skipp (48sec anti-shock) and a deep bass! The remote is small but handy. Definatly recommend you buy this!!

I am trying to simply find out if the unit comes with an AC adapter. It is impossible to determine this!! I cannot find any info. on any of the websites. Calls to the AIWA people at 1 800 289 2492 are futile. You are bounced around from one operator to another. AIWA has just lost my business.

This product claimed to work with both PC and MAC. It did not. I comes with nothing to install it onto your computers and it comes with nothing to actually connect your computers to the product. You end up spending more money and it still doesn't work.

Doesn't actually play MP3s, but a propriety format converted during transfer. Every computer needs their special software. Headphones themselves are floppy and are easily displaced by even modest activity.

I'm currently listening to my headphone as I'm reviewing this.

I'll base my review on three factors:

Sound: The sound quality is awesome. The sound is very crisp and has a good amount of bass. For added bass, the M.D.S.E feature improves sound quality - however, I don't think you'll ever be needing this unless you're going deaf.

Portability: Headphone is very portable - lightweight and compact. It also fits perfectly to your ears and holds in place. Quite comfortable I might add.

PC Compartability: The included software is very simple and easy to use. Ever burnt a CD? Then you can handle this.

Overall, if you are looking for something simple and stylish to listen to music with, this is your best bet. It might not store a million songs but it's well worth it especially for the average listener.

OK - but better scopes available in the same price range.......2002-03-05

While not a bad scope, it shows signs of cost cutting. The finder and the 9mm eyepiece are awful - I replaced the 9mm eyepiece as soon as possible. The mount is not as stable as it should be for medium to high powers - I found it was hard to find focus due to the jiggling of the image. The electronic controls are fine but really don't offer any benefit over manual slo-mo controls available on many scopes.

This is a step up from "junk department store refractors" to be sure, but I recommend getting a more "back to basics" scope without the electronics. Scopes in the same general price range are available with better accessories and mounts, and/or larger apertures.

Good value for the money.......2002-02-26

Pros:
Good beginner scope (and probably the only scope necessary for a casual observer). Even if used only 3 or 4 times ever, the views of the Moon (lots of craters near where light side transitions to dark) and Saturn (looks like a dot with a ring around it) are worth this amount of money if you never have seen them through a telescope. Its neat to see those things with your own eyes in your own backyard even if they look small (its like looking at the back of an pencil eraser at Jupiter or Saturn), vs looking at pictures in a book. With the motors attached the image holds steady in the wind. It is pretty easy with the motors to hold Saturn in the center field of view and you never have to touch the barrel, just the control pad. This is small enough to carry with one hand from the garage to the backyard.
Cons:
70 mm size not large enpugh for deep sky objects (nebula, galaxy), this might limit depth for serious types (who would probably want a size of 150 mm)
Finderscope is small and hard to get at to look through. Ok for the bright planets and moon though.

Great beginner telescope!.......2001-12-22

We bought this telescope for our son's 9th birthday to keep him happy and occupied while his dad sets up our more advanced telescope. In particular, we wanted a telescope that he could use easily on his own. Set up was a breeze, and we were amazed at the clarity of what we were able to see on a rather hazy night in a fairly light polluted area. Jupiter with its bands and moons were clearly visible as were the rings on Saturn. Though it comes with electronic controls and will work with the Autostar, our son enjoys positioning the telescope manually which he found easy to do. This is a perfect beginner telescope!

Max Advertised Power was I think 250 but with the 9mm and 25mm lens you dont even get close which are the defaults that the telescope comes with. You have to buy the Barlow lens or the 4mm lens to see saturn.
Over all for the (...)price its really great, but buying the lenses will cost an additional (dollar amount), so total comes to about (dollar amount), for that price this is the best in its class.
