The progressive scan feature generates a picture with twice the scan lines of conventional DVD images, improving your resolution and sharpening the objects onscreen while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. The DV1201 also features a built-in Dolby Digital and Pro Logic II decoder, letting you complement your favorite DVD movies with full, rich sound. In addition, the system offers other sound adjustments--including movie, music, and matrix modes--that actively replicate the aural attributes of a theater, stadium, concert hall, or intimate club. The system comes with four magnetically shielded satellite speakers, a center channel speaker, and a powered subwoofer. The 200-watt unit also offers such DVD functions as multi-angle playback, zoom, slow motion forward and reverse, secondary audio (when available), programmable memory, and repeat playback. Viewers can switch between 4:3 pan scan, 4:3 letterbox, and 16:9 widescreen modes to increase their video options. The receiver is also equipped with an integrated AM/FM tuner with 20 presets, and to further enrich your audio options, the DVD player is compatible with DVD Video, audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, and JPEG picture disc formats.

The DV1201 invites users to add additional components using its host of video and audio connections, including a digital audio output, a component video output (ideal for connecting to a high-definition TV), one composite input and one output, and an S-video output. The system comes with a remote control and carries a 90-day warranty against defects.

I guess you get what you pay for. I didn't pay anything for this system, so it was really no lose.

Within a month after setting this thing up, the fan in the box begin to really get loud. Within a month after this, the fan quit working all together. Within a month of that, the whole unit quit.

I now know why Audiovox only has a 90 day warranty on this system. It'll last about 100 days.

Problems right out of the box.......2005-11-26

The fun began right after I took the time to set it up. As soon as I turned it on, viola, noise hum. I disconnected the rca cable first hoping that it was something simple and could easily be replaced. Speakers were next and still there was the hum. You don't need a genius to figure out that with only the electrical cord plugged in, the problem was the player itself. Good bye Audiovox DV1201 200-Watt Progressive Scan DVD Home Theater System.

I'M 14 AND YOU SHOULD READ THIS BEFORE THINKING ABOUT BUYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This looks pretty cool but like most items it gets old really fast! There are many things you can do with it and I thought it was really hard to put together because there are so many wires. This system has good sound and it goes fairly loud. If you wanted a a nice system I would not pick this Audiovox. Only get this item if you want a small surrond sytem for your room. It is good for parties and for watching some movies if thats what your looking for.

cool if you watch PAL imports.......2004-08-20

was cool for a kids surround system. worked for about 6 months before the DVD function stoped working. the radio is EXTREMELY sensitive, i could get stations that were unavailable in any other system i have owned(including CAR!!!) the speakers are weak and the sub is overpowering. After about another month of non-dvd, i was upset and about to buy another system, like a sonybox. I removed the shell and found the broken chip that had burned out. I simply used a eyeglass screwdriver and poked at it untill the dvd would work(took about an hour, but dvd only works untilll unit gets hot, bout 4 hours) in the directions it says not to put anything on top of it(even ps2 or xbox), dont! should work fine then. Anyway, found a cool feature the company installed that allows them to sell the unit in asia too, in the case there is a switch labled NTSC/PAL, you can switch it to pal and play bootlegs,imports, and non-region code dvds! the menu text switched to chinese or japanese or something too....The MP3 menu is confuseing but managable. If you have an older stereo with bigger speakers, i reccomend changing them, the ones supplied are low quaity.

Small, Dependable, Works Fine.......2003-09-24

Very compact design for mobile users. Absolutely plug-and-play and works well with WinXP (even if I only used Microsoft's generic usb hub driver). I like the included USB Control Utility and the individual LEDs for each port, the uplink, and for the power.

Best of all, it's compatible with most of my usb devices: Canon i320, Canoscan LiDE 50, and Logitech Quickcam Messenger.

The only negative comment I have is when connecting my Microsoft Notebook Optical Mouse to the hub (experienced this with Targus' hub also), the mouse emits a very annoying sound while I move it.

Ink Cart works as well as Canon's and costs less to but I think you would be better off buying one from Office Max or Office Depot...they have generic ones too and you won't have to pay for shipping!

This is an average replacement for the canon 21bk cartridge. It will not last as long as the name brand, but for the price it may be worth it.

You can't beat the price and compatibility is the same as Canon products. I have a Canon 5100 and I bought color and black cartridges.

Great Value on Ink Refills.......2001-02-17

This Ink Refill cartridge is a great value at about a third the cost of the Canon brand replacement. I've used both the color and the plain black refils without any difficulties in my BJC-4200.

For those of you worried about the price gap between the Nectron and the Canon products you have to understand how the printer companies are making their money. Price competition has become so fierce in the computer world that printer makers are selling the consumer inkjet printers on very small margins, but with proprietary ink cartridges. Then they make very large margins by selling those special proprietary cartridges to the people who bought their printers. That's why you can buy a resonable printer for home-use for about $100, but the ink cartridges cost almost $20 to replace. But don't think Canon pulled a fast one - all the manufacturers do this, it's just the way the marketplace functions - so buy the less expensive replacement and save yourself some money!
