With a backlit universal remote control, stereo reception and variable audio output, Panasonic's CT-20D11 is not your run-of-the-mill 20-inch TV. The CT-20D11's picture tube is dark-tinted (Panasonic calls it PanaBlack) for enhanced contrast; this is becoming a common feature in all sets, large and small. Panasonic's Game Guard lets you block channels (the ones used by video game consoles) and all video inputs for 12, 24 or 48 hours. Variable audio output lets you hook up the TV to your A/V receiver and still be able to control the volume with the TV's remote control, while MTS and SAP reception let you enjoy stereo and foreign-language broadcasts. The front-panel A/V input makes connecting a game console or camcorder a little easier. A/V input jacks link your outside sources directly to audio and video circuits in the TV set, bypassing the tuner. This direct connection allows for optimum picture reproduction. Panasonic TVs really do sound as good as they look. The CT-20D11 is equipped with a built-in stereo decoder that can receive both TV stereo and Separate Audio Program (SAP) broadcasts where available. The DBX noise reduction system helps give you clear, crisp sound with appropriate stereo separation. Other features include 2 Line Digital Comb Filter, a headphone jack, trilingual menu system, and sleep timer.

Whether it's used as a primary or secondary set, Panasonic's CT-20D11 has the quality and features of a great TV. The 20-inch set uses a high-contrast PanaBlack fine-pitch picture tube and front audio-video inputs, which make it easy to quickly hook up a camcorder, a game console, or a VCR. The CT-20D11's two-line comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a striped T-shirt).
The set provides stereo audio (with 1.5 watts per channel) from broadcast programming via Multichannel Television Sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals. A component-video input grants optimal connection with a compatible DVD player, while standard composite- and S-video inputs accommodate any DVD player. You can choose between a set of rear AV inputs and a set of side AV inputs for extra convenience. A rear AV output hooks the set up with a surround receiver.
The set's other features include an FM radio with nine presets, channel labeling, a headphone jack, trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), V-Chip parental control, and a full-function remote control.

It's Great When It works..........2003-02-28
I bought this television in the summer of 2002. It is now February of 2003, and the television won't turn on. No strange happenings to lead up to it, it just won't turn on. The warranty is for 1 year parts, 90 days labor. New televisions are being made to break.
This is the coolest tv!.......2002-08-20
I got this tv for christmas last year, and it is excellent. I use it almost everday and it works perfect! The picture is excellent! The sound is amazing, and very clear. This tv comes with a Universal remote. You can control the tv, vcr, cable box, and a dvd player with it. The remote even lights up! This tv also has a fm radio with 6 presets on it so if you don't feel like watching tv you click one button and the radio is on!This tv has a S video output and it has A/V jacks in the back of the tv and in the front of the tv (good for a dvd player or a PS2) This tv also has a Panablack picture tube, the Panablack picture tube reduces the glare and it makes a really good picture. The screen is preety flat, but it is not considered a flat screen. This tv is pretty expensive but it is worth it. I reccomend this tv to anyone who wants a great 20 inch tv.
My Introduction To On Screen Programming.......2002-05-05
This Panasonic model was purchased to replace a sixteen year old set that played it's last episode of Everybody Loves Raymond then died. What this means is this model is my introduction to "On Screen Programming;" the easy to follow manual helped me to reset the colors which were set a bit too intense at the factory. In a few minutes after I had the TV out of the box I was taping a show. Two of my favorite features are the sleep timer and the FM radio; I go to sleep to one and I turn on the other in the morning. Whether you are an old timer like me or a young person in tune with the latest technology this Panasonic CT20D11 is a good choice.
Nice S-Video Equipped TV.......2002-04-26
This stereo TV is working well for me, great picture and sound (includes FM radio) and remote.
NOTE FOR NEWBIES (like me): The manual with this set contains NOTHING on the S-Video input, and as I discovered if you are hooking up a DVD you must hook up BOTH the S-Video cable AND the L/R Audio input for the television to recognize that there is a signal present and show the picture/sound in Video mode. Also, you can use only one of three video inputs at a time (S-Video, standard RCA on back and on the front) as this model doesn't have an option to toggle between them. I hope the set switches to the front inputs automatically or else I'll have to unplug my DVD every time I plug in my camera in the front (haven't tried it yet). Once you catch the logic of the on-screen menus they are easy to use to set up the various features. Overall a great television!
No Warranty!!.......2002-04-23
Panasonic warranties stink. Do you know the warranty information? Well, if it is 1 year, what is that for? Parts? Labor? None?
I currently own several Panasonic TV's and TV/VCR Combo's and they have been for the most part trouble free. In September 2001 I bought a 27" flat screen TV from Panasonic and it has been nothing but trouble as of April 2002. The major problem has been with support. Yes, I own a good deal of A/V gear including some Pro A/V gear, but the support problem has been with the warranty periods offered by Panasonic on large heavy screen TV's. Don't be fooled by the warranty you see here or at a retail store. The labor is only for 90 days, and they'll charge you big time for labor.
Almost everything I have from Panasonic has been trouble-free, but if you do have a problem, be prepared to throw away and re-purchase because it would cost less than the labor charges.

Warranty problems.......2004-03-10
I want to tell you about my experience with Leica Binoculars. I purchased the Trinovid 10 X 42s back in the mid 90s for about $1,000.00. I thought they were the best binoculars I had ever owned. Last year, in November of 2003 the binoculars broke. I did not drop them or handle them any differently than I had the last 8 years of owning them. I always carried them in a specially padded backpack that I modified specifically for optics like my binoculars and cameras and such. I thought, no problem, they have a lifetime guarantee... So I thought.
I went to the store where I had purchased them. They gave me the phone number to Leica-Camera Co. I called and got a recording telling me to write down the problem and where to send them, I did. A couple of weeks later I received a repair estimate in the mail for a bit over $400.00.
I called them up and talked to a service rep. She told me that because I did not send in my warranty card when I purchased the binoculars they were not covered under the warranty. I told her I never send those things in because I understand they are a source for mailing lists which are sold and I get too much junk mail and spam as it is. Of course this did not sway her in the least. So I asked if I paid for the repair would I then be in their data base and therefore the binoculars would be covered should they break again. She told me, No; they would still not be covered. The repair would be warranted for 90 days and after that I would again be on my own.
I declined their estimate and was told they would send them back the following week. After that I wrote a letter to Leica GM telling of the situation and asking that they step up to the plate and do the right thing... repair my expensive binoculars that I got based on a lifetime guarantee. This is the first time I have ever written a letter to a company official and not got a response. I heard nothing and 3 months went by. I thought, maybe they are not good communicators and maybe they have had them this long because they decided to fix them after all. I called them. I got a voicemail and asked about them. They never returned my call but about a week later they showed up in the mail. Still broken and useless.
I will not buy any more Leica products and I thought I would pass on my experience for anyone thinking of buying their products to consider.
The Best of The Best.......2003-06-13
As a neophyte to the world of safari and in preparation for what will be my first adventure on the so-called dark continent, I thoroughly evaluated all of the top-end (mostly european) brands before selecting Leica's 10x42 bn-series binoculars.
The Leica bn-series binoculars are without doubt one of the - if not 'the' - finest binoculars you can purchase at the given price point (in terms of clarity, resolution, focusing precision, brightness/light-gathering ability, portability, build-quality, etc.), and, apparently, are amongst the favorite of many of the leading professionals, sportsmen and naturalists.
Worth every penny.......2002-10-09
These binoculars were a revelation to me. I was surprised that this level of quality was still available at any price in today's world of plastic disposable low quality consumer merchandise. These Leica binoculars feel like a heavy glass and metal brick in comparison to other cheaper binoculars. The image is bright and contrasty. The image snaps decisively into focus. You'll want to smash your cheap binoculars against the nearest wall after you've tried these.
A couple of minor quibbles: the thin leather case that comes with it is very flimsy, you may want to buy a more sturdy aftermarket case. No front lens covers were provided. There is a sturdy one piece rubber eyepiece cover and a very nice neoprene neckstrap.
These binoculars were a revelation.......2001-11-17
Although I have owned several pairs of binoculars, I have never come across a better pair than the Leica. The first time I used them the image was so bright and clear it was a real revelation. I have tried comparable Swarovsky and Zeiss binoculars, and not only was the Leica brighter, but it was much more comfortable to hold. I have not tried the Nikon Venturers, which I have heard are wonderful, but you absolutely cannot go wrong with the Leica. They are expensive, but will last a lifetime. For those who wear glasses, the eye cup system is really quite comfortable, and the cups themselves are quite sturdy. The Leica is also waterproof and built like a tank.

Bought a pair of this Trivonid 10X42BN, which I have dreamed of for a long long time. I took it out for birding.. WOW!! It has the brightest optical performance I have ever seen. I can easily watch the birds in the shaded woods, with very sharp, great contract, precise image. Not to mention the even greater performance in places with more sunshine.
I personaly love the design of the push-pull eyecups, it is exactly the right thing for anyone who wear glasses like me!! Just push down the eyecups, I can enjoy the SAME view (same wide field, same brightness..etc) immediately without takeing off my glasses.
I have tried Zeiss Victory and Swarvoski SLC before I bought Leica, they can't beat Leica in optics, although some birding experts prefer Swarvoski. But Swarvoski's is not as bright as Leica's, and 50+% more expensive.
and YES, Leica Trivonid 10X42BN is BIGGER, and HEAVIER compare to both Zeiss and Swarvoski. And some degradation at the edge of view, which exists in EVERY pair of roof prim binoculars.

A film adapter lets you scan negatives and transparencies. The scanner also boasts sleek lines and a gloss-finish lid with a textured surround to prevent finger marking. I've tried a lot of scanners with my Powerbook (Epson, HP, UMAX and Canon) - NONE of them worked as well or as fast as this one. For all you Mac people out there, you know how hard it can be to find software and hardware that works fluidly, especially with OS X. I've scanned photos, slides and negatives and had great results with all three. I highly recommend this product.

FOR THE PERSON WHO DOES TEXT, PHOTOS, COPIES FRON BOOKS AND IN A HURRY, DOES NOT WANT TO INVEST IN A EXPENSIVE SCANNER. THEN THIS IS IT ,EASY TO SET UP AND EASIER TO USE. TYPICAL OF CANNON PRODUCTS.

finally I decided buying canoscan 3200F unit. I believe that other positive comments on its very good results on photo
scanning although I have not tried it yet on the unit. Anyway, it is fast performance and nice style.
Negative:
1- Regarding text scan results, absolutely not really clear & sharp as expected; a workaround probably is with scanning at high resolution and have printouts at scaled down (smaller character size) size to have it looked good enough.
2- So far, after have used for a while to make copies of multi-pages (a hundreds) into pdf format with "canon toolbox 4.5" application (came with the package), on my box, it was unbelievable that the app could not survive from a error of not enough hdd space to save scans, but displayed error msg and terminated "abnormally". I lost hours of scanning hundreds of pages into pdf and all'v gone by that BS. I had to delete files to make room and redone the tedious and time consumming task. Hope canon will have a fix on this soon if it is really an issue and others can confirm this issue. (my hardwares configuration is not a matter - amd xp 1700, 756mb ram,...)

This scanner is simple to set up and use. It is fast and quiet. Scans photos, book pages and everything else with great quality. I am as happy as can be!
