Boom Boom... Look At My Car!!.......2007-01-12

Incredible!! Bazooka has come up with a winning active (powered) or passive subwofer for us people who aren't into car audio competition or jiggling the license plate bolts out of the back of our cars. In other words, a sub for us "in betweens." I love the response from these and the fact that I can wedge them just about anywhere in my cars or trucks makes them especially appealing. I have bought three of them so far. One in the back of a pick up I own, the other in the back of a 2000 Camaro B4C and the other, the third in the back of my 1999 Toyota 4 Runner. This one is under the cargo cover, hidden from prying eyes.
These Bazooka subs are an awesome piece for the price. Truly a prize winning sub for us "other people."

This went into the factory subwoofer section of a Range Rover and has double the power and clarity of what it replaced. Highly recommend this subwoofer as a factory replacement due to its cost, size, and high quality.

Powered Bazooka performance.......2007-01-16

Smooth, clean with good performance. I like all the bass frequencies at the level they were recorded, not ear shattering boom,boom at some and nothing at others. On some songs there are several different bass notes and this unit faithfully reproduces them. The level is very adequate for my Accord. The small size allows me to mount the Sub just in front of the driver's seat which gives good spacial (bass in front) sense. When someone shorter has to drive the car, I simply undo the straps move the Sub.

worked great.......2007-02-07

I wired this up in a full size gmc truck underneath the rear bench seat, hooked to a new sony head unit. I was very impressed with the sound. I wasn't looking for window rattling bass(but it does that also), I just wanted to feel it when the drummer hits it in rock music. This improved the quality of my system by leaps and bounds. Installation was a breeze and it tucks nice and neat under the rear seat. If needed I could probably remove the whole thing in less then 10 minutes without any noticeable changes left behind.

Awesome Sound Quality, Lacking in Control........2006-07-29

Ok first, the sound quality is very sweet. Very smooth and very deep bass without becoming "tubby", where the woofer hits and causes a "deadening sound" or bottoms out. This sub sounds just great. I have a hatchback and usually you don't "need" anything more than 8" but anything smaller than a 10" just cannot push as much air, which affects the "thump factor".

I purchased this way knowing that I can always grow with this sub and that you can always turn it down. It was only about $40 more than the 8" at 200 watts (I bought through Discount Jungle for $215). I have this set up with my factory deck which is really good for stock, but my deck has only 2 preouts (front, rear, and no separate sub control). I knew this going into this purchase, but assumed that the gain control and crossover would allow me to adequately to control it's sound. However, it is MUCH harder than I thought. This gain control is strange. Normally, you would be able to turn it all the way down for no bass and turn it up incrementally as you please. Well, all the way down on this sub does not stop the bass, it just takes it to it's lowest setting, which is still very strong and still too much for certain types of music. I have done some tweaking with the deck and produced a decent compromise with the sound so I am mostly happy, but the gain control was a big bummer and I am constantly adjusting the deck with the music, looking for my sound.

With all that being said, I HIGHLY recommend this sub if your deck has 3 preouts, that way you can control the sub independently of the other speakers and not lose bass from them, which creates a much better sound. This would also negate the retarded gain control function. The lack of bass control with a 2 preout deck would be easier to swallow if the gain control went lower than it is set for and you should be able to create a good sound that you would not need to adjust alot.

I plan on getting an aftermarket deck anyway, so it is not that huge of a deal for me, but don't get this sub if you are not prepared to upgrade your deck to allow for separate control. Also note that an 8 inch sub may/probably still have this problem. (based on my having a 5 1/2 inch, 50 watt powered sub in my old truck, that made great bass)

All in all, besides the gain control, you cannot beat this sub for the quality, construction, price and the convenience of not having to buy or install a separate amp and be able to simply unclip the tube if you need extra room.

What more can be said?.......2007-07-11

I've also been fortunate enought to acquire these spectacular phones. I've had mine for 3 years now and they still sound really fantastic. Unfortunately, I have been using them basically every single day anywhere from 2 to 10 hours a day, and have worn the earpads out. So now I have to decide if I will buy another set of M30's or throw down on a set of m40fs'. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong with Audio Technica. I have been extremely pleased with my purchase and would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone looking for clean, strong, dynamic sounding headphones.

I already had sennheiser HD485 and 595, I bought these headphones for just being them closed which is useful for monitoring the recording however they don't block too much noise, I'm unsure about the build of these headphones whether they are durable for longer time. The sound quality can be compared to my HD485 with little pricey than ATH-M30. The HD485 offer better bass response, more comfort and much stylish than ATH-M30, anyway, I enjoy the sound quality of these cans and at least affordable great headphones can be found of their class.

I'm lucky enough to have XM PCR at work. For the longest, I used a pair of $20 Koss cans that I picked up at Borders...and they sufficed. However, they finally broke, so I started a new search and found these. XM Radio used to be just an additional noise source. These headphones have completely transformed the experience. Not only is the sound quality significantly better, but they're way more comfortable on my big melon head.

The price is right, and the value is great.

These headphones are great. I am not an audiophile, so I can't comment on sound beyond saying that they sound great to my ears. The reason I bought them was for comfort, I wear them for 6-10 hours a day, and have yet to get sore or experience any discomfort. They block out the bus and train noises well, and keep my ears very warm in the cold minnesota winter.
