For anyone who is interested in an non-digital camera, this is the camera for you! It does all the basics and much more. It's a camera you can keep with you at all times. Takes great pictures with good quality. It does the job without all that other clutter you get from carrying a bulky camera were you have to change lenses....

Great little camera, but does not have midroll rewind despite the description. I owned the Elph LT until it was stolen, and the Elph 370Z (which does have midroll rewind) for seven years of frequent use before the flash quit working. Was delighted to find this one new. Too bad APS cameras were discontinued.

This is a great little machine. Sturdier flash than original elph. Slightly larger. Plastic body instead of metal. Great pocket camera. Carry it everywhere and never miss a shot. APS prints best on "H",but the panoramic setting is fun. Like a Leica 111f, always ready, easy to carry fun.

I deliberately purchased an out-dated product to replace a similat camera that was stolen, as in some ways it is more flexible than my digital camera, and compements the other. I carry both with me at all times and use whichever is better suited for the particular shot I have in mind.

This TV is very good for the price. Specs include: 8ms repsonse time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, ATSC/NTSC tuner, built in DVD player, HDMI in, and others listed in the description.
Features aside, this TV delivers a solid picture. I put it in my roughly 100 sqft. apartment bedroom and it is much larger than the 13" tube TV it repaced. With only a 2-d comb filter, picture sometimes looks a little washed out, but not too too badly. Plus, the 2-d comb filter is only used on the composite-in and NTSC cable in, nothing else. Motion blurring is non-existent at best, and only a mild nuisance at worst. I was watching a Futurama DVD and when the ship flies by at the start of the intro, it gets a little blurry but not so bad that it is a large distraction.
Preset picture modes are good, and the menu gives you quite a bit of wiggle room for fine tuning the picture, given the price of the TV. The menu also has an audio adjustment feature but this does hardly anything to effect the sound. The speakers are only passable. I reccommend using the audio out function as it will give you so much more.
progressive scan DVD player itself is a nice compact slot-loading unit with good controls and a decent picture. The remote is easy to use and has a decent range which is good because this TV is NOT compatible with universal remotes (as far as I know anyway).
In short, this is a good solid TV with nice features for a low price. If you are good at shopping around you may be able to get one of these for the same price as a new xbox 360 premium which, might I add, comes in very clearly and crisply through the HDMI in. It's not going to be a "wonderful change the world amazingly superb ridiculous" TV but it is good enough to warrant the price for frugalists.
Great value and function.......2007-07-03
I got three of these to run slide shows continuously for display and they've been great. I like the side loading DVD player because it keeps it under 4" thick. The only disadvantage I see is that you have to have the remote to use DVD menus. The button controls on the unit are limited and basically only for the TV functions. Overall it's a great value for the size and functionality for the price!

This TV is exactly what we were looking for. The built-in DVD player is a big plus. We wanted to be able to play our in-house DVD movies on this unit, and I was concerned how, and if, they would play. After reading good reviews elsewhere, I ordered it, and have been very satisfied. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

We just got it last week and it came in on time and in good condition. Since it came all the way across the states I was alittle worried. The TV picture is good and the DVD works. It was easy to hook up. I have not yet got the Dish Network remote to run the TV. Hope I can figure it out. I just have to turn it on with one remote and change the channels with the other. The price was real good from Amazon.
I would recomend it.

USB 2 (non-)functionality that is overpriced.......2003-06-10
I bought this for my notebook because I needed USB2 and figured why not spend an extra few dollars and have "dongle free" IEEE/Firewire as well. I have used Adaptec products in the past and never had a significant problem, so I bought this unit even though it is twice the cost of other products with the same functionality. My primary purpose for this CardBus is for connecting my Dell Notebook with my Canon LiDE 30 Scanner - which does not plug into an outlet but instead gets all of its power from the USB (think about it - the perfect combination for people with mobile offices and notebook computers). Well, there is not enough power coming from this CardBus to power the scanner (which is understandable). Fortunately (NOT!) there is a place to plug in a power adapter to boost the power coming from the CardBus - but NO ADAPTER comes packaged with this overpriced product.
According to the User Manual, if you want a power adapter go pick one up: "UL-approved power supply rated at 12 Volts and capable of 2.1 Amps, with connector size 3.5 mm outside / 1.3 mm inside diameter, 8 mm length." GOOD LUCK - Adaptec doesn't sell it, Radio Shack laughed at me ("too big for us to carry") and I cannot locate one on the internet (I did try, but I am not an electrical engineer). I tried contacting Adaptec Tech Support, but they have not responded so far (I even told them I would take the adapter that Quality Assurance used to test the CardBus!). So - if you are thinking about this product maybe you should consider the alternative Siig product - half the price and includes an adapter!
----- UPDATE -----
Since writing my review I have spoken with Adaptec Tech Support, and they admit that an issue exists in regard to the power adapter. They are continuing to research the availability of such a power adapter, but have yet to find one available for purchase on the market (Jun-17-2003). They have also agreed to refund my purchase price due to the design defects. Before I spend more money and get frustration in return, I will do some substantial research into the Siig CardBus (JU-NPC012) and OrangeMicro's OrangeCombo CardBus (70USB90040).
One thing that I did not mention above: I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to electricity, but what I have discovered is that if you use a power adapter with amperage less than recommended, the device can become hot - to the point of melting and potentially catching on fire. That is why having the appropriate power adapter is so important.

Very easy to use for home videos.......2007-08-15
I read the reviews of this product from users who were not satisfied with this hardware, but I found that the setup is relatively straight forward, with the exception of the usb problem I had, and it makes it easy to make dvd's from home videos without having to go through another time consuming process of converting the video to another format. I use Nero to create the movie from the ADS file without any problem. When I first tried to set up the ADS usb using a hub, it wouldn't identify my usb. You have to plug the usb directly into a usb connection in the computer or it won't work. I found this to be a great product to use in making my dvd home videos. - Michael Riley

This is exactly what I was looking for! I have a SONY camcorder that uses 8mm tapes. I was easily able to convert my tapes to DVDs. Here are the pros and cons:
PROS: 1) Easy setup
2) Great quality video output!
3) Most affordable way to back up your analog tapes on DVD (CD).
4) Excellent Capture software!
5) Option to choose low quality (low disk space) or high quality (high disk space).
CONS:
1) Had minor hardware connection issues (loose connection on the USB port)
2) Bad DVD burning software (just use NERO, ROXIO, or any other easily available DVD burning software available online)
I had another 8mm tape done professionally (paid $35+ for a 26 minute tape) and got a really poor quality video (skipped every second) and audio. When I compared it to the DVD made by DVD express, there was no competion. DVD express created a DVD that looked just like the original.
I woudn't recoment it.......2007-01-09
Maybe mine was defected and this is why I had to return back. It was not working consistently and it cost me many hours trying to make it work. The times it worked, video quality was not that good.
