It didn't work...at all. I tried it from each side of my home, but still nothing. I like in Southern CT, but still about 15 minutes away from NYC so you'd expect something, but no, nothing. Took a risk and failed. Hope you don't go doing the same.

Very good for what it is.......2007-09-02

Like all antennas to get the best picture on a particular station this antenna requires that it be adjusted or moved, so you will need a large flat surface with good clearance to allow for the telescoping antennas to extend or be relocated. This antenna does a reasonably good job of picking up standard definition stations over the air. It does an outstanding job of picking up High Definition signals. My biggest complaint is the extremely small support base of the product. With the antennas extended it is top heavy and very difficult to keep in one place or keep it from toppling over, a very poor design.

This is great little antenna if you do not have a roof or attic antenna available to you.

On thing to Note is that there is NO SUCH THING AS AN HD ANTENNA. The over the air HD broadcasts are still using the UHF and VHF frequency bands. That means an UHF/VHF antenna will pick up the signal. Don't pay more money because somebody put HDTV in the name.

Works great for me.......2007-07-11

I've had the Terk HDTVi plugged into my DirecTV HD DVR for a few days now and I'm very impressed with the results. I live in a rural area that is 25+ miles from two large metro areas, one to the west and one to the east, that have a number of tv stations broadcasting digital signals. This antenna has added about 30 more stations, all digital, to my lineup. I'm now getting pristine HD for all the local channels that DirecTV wasn't giving me. Full disclosure: I'm at a high point in the county where I live, so I'm not fighting very much terrain to get these signals. I also have to occasionally get my rear end off the couch to move the antenna a tiny bit to pick up a channel for which the antenna is searching for the signal. This might have more to do with where I have placed the antenna. Nevertheless, that is small trade off for adding a bunch more HD channels to my viewing experience.

A decent option for combined VHF/UHF reception.......2007-06-10

I purchased this antenna to use in my apartment complex. I had been using an el-cheapo VHF antenna (which was able to pull in several digital stations.) Looking at reception from the VHF (analog) side, this antenna is no better than a $7 unit at Walmart. I don't receive analog stations any better than I used to. If most of the stations you watch of in the VHF spectrum, you might be better off with a cheaper antenna.

However, on the UHF side, this antenna is pretty effective. I am able to pull in many HD digital stations here in Denver with excellent clarity....even living in an apartment complex with no line of sight. The antenna is VERY sensitive to placement though. Moving the unit one foot in either direction would result in good reception to a near loss of signal. You will have to experiment to get the best reception. I would recommend investing in a longer cable so you can get the antenna exactly where it needs to be. For a non-amplified unit (with no line of sight,) I couldn't have expected any better performance. For UHF reception, this antenna is pretty darn good.

The antenna is somewhat large, so you will need a dedicated spot for it. It appears to be well constructed. While the VHF reception of this unit is no better than the cheapest antennas, the ability to receive both VHF and UHF well makes this a good buy.

A first-rate film camera.......2007-07-03

In this day and age of digital SLR cameras people sometimes seem to forget the joy of using film...you know, that thing that comes in a small metal canister that you load in the back of your camera! Even Nikon, that long established giant of the photography world has stopped making film cameras.

Well for those who still appreciate the joy of film, this camera is perhaps one of the best film SLRs ever made. Over my lifetime, I've owned a number of different film cameras from both Minolta and Canon, I even owned a 35mm Mamiya Sekor (for the under 40 crowd, you can look this camera up in Google or Yahoo) and I can safely state that this camera is a top performer in every possible way.

There are enough functions, both automatic and manual, to unleash the creative genius now lurking inside you. The camera's controls are laid out in an intuitive manner, so your fingers always seem to automatically find the right buttons to push. In spite of the fact that this camera has many functions, the user is not overwhelmed by all of the electronic wizardy. A beginner photog will feel right at home with this camera after shooting a couple of rolls of film. A more advanced photog will be able to use this camera's features to enhance and expand his/her creative potential.

The camera itself is well-built. It has a solid feel to it, there are no cheap parts to it. Plastic use is confined to a minimun and where plastic is used, it is of the highest possible quality. I once dropped this camera and it was not even dinged! Everything fits tight and works well. I've owned this camera for several years and after shooting countless rolls of film (and dropping it once) it still works and feels the way it did the day I took it out of its box.

If you buy this camera, also look into getting the accesory battery grip (BP-300). It makes it easier to hold the camera when using long tele lenses, makes it easier to take vertical shots and it allows the user to use AA batteries or the standard lithium batteries. [...].

This review is for the Elan 7 camera. Canon followed the 7 model with the 7E, then the 7N and finally the 7NE. The "E" designates cameras with the automatic focusing feature. You look into the viewfinder and the camera automatically focus on the section of the scene that your eye is looking at. This feature does not work very well for eyeglass users, so I chose the standard Elan 7 model. The "N" designates a newer version of the Elan 7. The improvements are nice, but they do not add significantly to the overall quality and features of the standard Elan 7 model. I would rather get the standard 7 model and invest the savings on a good lens.
