Uniden's DCT 648-2 comes with a number of useful features, including an extra handset with charging cradle, expandability, and an all digital answering machine. Ideal for any large home, this stylish phone set allows you to place handsets in multiple locations so you never miss a call.

Caller ID/call waiting compatible, the DCT 648-2 can store up to 100 calls, while the display-and-dial feature lets you easily scroll through the list of calls and dial with the touch of a button. An auto-scan feature automatically detects the best channel available, while handset and ringer volume controls allow you to easily adjust the phone's settings to your liking.

The DCT 648-2 is headset compatible (a belt clip is provided for hands-free operation), while a room/baby monitoring setting lets you hear audio from another handset location. A page button on the base makes finding a lost handset quick and painless, and the menu-driven handset LCD makes operation easy. A redial button lets you easily call one of the last three outgoing numbers, while both tone and pulse dialing modes are provided in case you need to switch to one or the other.

With the auto-talk feature turned on, you can answer calls simply by removing the phone from its cradle, and the flash/talk button lets you switch to an incoming call (requires subscription to a fee-based service) and put the current conversation on hold. A handset-to-handset call transfer function is provided, as is a memory location transfer feature. With four-way conferencing (two handsets plus base plus outside call), multiple users can easily converse, and the intercom feature lets you communicate with another handset location.

The digital answering system features full remote operation, allowing you to check messages while away from the home or office. Voice prompts help guide you through setup, while play/stop, skip, delete, and repeat keys help you navigate through your messages. A memo record feature is provided, and the conversation record feature lets you record important conversations or information such as driving directions.

Twenty distinctive ringer options are provided, and a visual voice mail indicator on the base lets you know when you have message waiting. Wall mountable, the DCT 648-2 also comes with both a handset and base speakerphone. This refurbished model is backed by a 90-day warranty.

For everyone who has this phone and was having trouble with adding the area code - I found the solution. When your looking at your caller id and it's a long distance number you can hit the # button to add the area code (if it isn't there already) and you can add the "1" before the area code and number by hitting *(tone) *woohoo* no more editing and redoing all the numbers before you add them to caller id!

Very Disapointed!.......2007-03-19

We got this phone a couple of months ago and are still not able to use it at all. Originally, we could not hear anything from this phone at all. Now only faint voice can be heard, but the only end still has no sound at all.

I spend hours reading the manual, but still can not make it work for us. Maybe it is a malfunctioning one. I would definitly NOT buy any Uniden products in the future.

Does not stand the test of time.......2007-03-02

When we first received these phones they were pretty good - the range is short but we could deal with that. After a few weeks the sound quality started to really decline (echos, breaking up, and static.). After 8 months the caller ID does not function on one handset and the sound quality on the other handset is so bad as to make it unusable.
The small size at first was cute but after awhile is very annoying and uncomfortable. I just ordered a panasonic set and can't wait to trash this set. I have been a loyal fan of uniden for many years but this product has shaken my confidence in there recent quality or lack there of.

Great Cordless with great features.......2007-02-06

This is a really good phone! Love the size and the handsfree features on each phone AND the base. Our last phone did not have that feature on the base and if the phone rang and we could not locate the handsets we could not answer the phone. Now we can! The reception is great and the volume features are easy to operate. We also got a killer price and prompt delivery. We are happy customers!

Great cd player, poor representation.......2003-02-05

On Amazon.com and Audiovox.com they both say that the CE144B has Bass boost. When you recieve the product and read through the manual it does not state how to turn on the Bass boost. I then called Audiovox and they said the bass boost feature was excluded when they manufactured the product. I would recomend the cd player but it does not have bass boost and it does not have good headphones.

The TV's 181-channel cable-ready tuner can program channels automatically, a real timesaving feature (a separate cable converter may be required to display scrambled channels). The TV's onscreen menus can be displayed in English, Spanish, or French, and it's capable of displaying Closed Captioning. It has a sleep timer and V-Chip parental control.

The sound system includes two stereo 1-watt, front-firing speakers with virtual surround sound and a headphone jack for private listening. We bought this set in November 2004. In February 2006, three months after the warranty expired, the DVD player conked out. Otherwise we've been happy with the set. The VCR still works and the video and audio quality are good for the price. But because of the problem with the DVD player, we cannot recommend this model.

Piece of JUNK!!.......2005-08-25

I bought this TV based on a previous good experience with Sylvania. I quess Sylvania's QUALITY HAS GONE DOWN THE TUBE!! Wish I would have gone with a separate dvd/vcr instead of this built in one!!!! The vcr broke within 9 months with only occasional adult use and no abuse! and the dvd player is now dead and it hasn't even been a year and we maybe used the dvd 12-15 times!!!!!!!!I can only hope the tv lasts at least a few years and I can hook up another dvd/vcr player to it!! POOR quality when it breaks this fast!!! I DO NOT recommend buying this!!!!!!!!!!!!! or if you do make sure you get the extended warranty!!!!!!!!!! I for one will NEVER buy another Sylvania product!!!

I have never had a TV in my bedroom and got this one because it had the DVD and VCR built into it. It is wonderful. The picture is great, both the DVD and VCR work well and one remote controls it all. Terrific.

Fantastic TV Plays All DVD Formats, MP3's and Real Player Fi.......2005-05-21

I love this TV. I received this TV as a christmas gift in 2004 and have been incredibly happy. I just popped it out of the box hooked my cable into the back and plugged it in (super easy). This tv has really cool functions and was easy to connect to my bose audio system. The VCR and DVD all in one option is just great and I love how it even plays Realplayer movies and MP3's. Also, I've never found a DVD, even homemade DVD's that wouldn't play in this player. I cant say enough about the color and clarity of picture, (much better than my Sony WEGA) and just incredible sound with all sound options (TruSurround, 5.1, Samart Audio etc). For those of you concerned about audio jacks this TV is loaded front and back including 1 set of RCA out for your Audio Sustem and 2 sets of input in the back and one in the front as well for a total of 3 sets of inbound jacks. Also the remote is friendy to use and very straight forward.

I waited to write this review because I wanted to take time to really put this set through its paces. I'm so glad I got this one. Take my word for it this is a really great TV and incredible value. Also, being an apartment dweller this TV was easy to pack and move and set up when I moved to my new place. HANDS DOWN A WINNER :)!
