Great phone, one small issue.......2005-03-14

This phone is great with one exception. 2.4 Ghz phones interfer with most wireless computer networks. Currently I have a 900Mhz Uniden Spread Spectrum that doesn't kick me off of my computer network. When I use this phone, I get booted. That's really the only issue I have, but that would be an issue with any 2.4 Ghz phone.

As far as the phone goes, it has the features I was looking for. I frequently get called in the middle of the night, so I wanted a phone that stood on-end and had the keys light up when it rang so I could see it in the dark. I also wanted caller I.D. on the handset, a good dialing memory, something small to fit on my nightstand, and an external headphone jack. Now you'd think that with those requirements finding a phone would be easy. Ha! This was the ONLY phone I could find that met those requirements. It has satisfied all of them quite nicely. Also, my other phone is a Uniden and I've been using it for 6 years and love it (I had to replace the battery once). In the past I've had problems with AT&T phones and Panasonic ones. When I purchased this phone, my girlfriend was looking to buy one too. In the end, she tried and returned multiple ones and ended up getting this one with the answering machine. All this happened without either of us knowing what phone the other one purchased. She's very happy with her phone too.

Excellent Product.......2004-07-01

I have had this phone for years with no problems at all. Love it 100%. The handset is very comfortable and easy to use. I recently bought a second one and wish I had bought a third one. Unfortunately Uniden no longer makes these phones. Uniden made a big mistake by stopping production. I have not found another phone by any manufacturer like this one, not even Uniden's new phones. These phones have batteries that require that they be returned to the base regulary, not necessarily after every call, but DO NOT leave it off until the battery goes dead. If you do the battery will not last very long. Most problems can probably be linked to this issue.

Not Good.......2004-06-02

Had the phone for a little over 1 year and the unit just stopped working. Was a good phone until then, just cannot believe the short life it had. The unit does not get a dial tone and talk keeps flashing on the LED. Tried their online support and they had me do this and that stating it would correct the issue; however, it still remains broken. This is the only phone I have had that only lasted a little over a year. I suggest you buy a different brand phone that will last longer than this one.

A waste of good money........2003-11-18

I owned this phone for a whole 7 MONTHS before it just quit working for no apparent reason. Up to that point, I was very happy with it. I have been a fairly consitent Uniden customer, but this phone wasted my money.

DON'T BUY THIS PHONE.......2003-10-27

It seems to be a great phone but after a year the keypad stops working and you cant dial anyones number. I am not the only one who has had this problem and if you read other reviews you will see many people with the same problem. DONT BUY THIS PHONE.

Not just for dual xeon motherboards!.......2004-10-07

The description can be kinda misleading. Plenty of regular Pentium 4 moterboards now require "EPS12V" power supplies instead of the regular "Pentium 4 ATX" power supplies.

I am using an Antec Truepower 550 EPS12V PS with my Supermicro P4SCA motherboard and a 2.4 Ghz Pentium 4 CPU with 800 Mhz FSB and hyperthreading.

You can't get a better power supply than this one. Just looking at the quality of the cables and connectors set this one apart from cheap taiwanese power supplies. It's very silent, too.

Not a great product.......2003-07-10

I use a Sony RZ Pentium 4 2.80 GHz with a Linksys wireless USB link. This computer comes without a serial port that's why I had to install a Serial Port. The drivers installation were fine, and it did work (with some, not all applications) but when I turned off the computer and turned on again the system stopped recognizing the wireless USB, I restarted the system 5 times until it occured to me that it was something about the belkin port, then I unplugged and restarted and presto! the Linksys worked again, however, now even with the belkin Port unplugged I have to plug-off and plug-in the Linksys card in order to be able to access the lan. I other words, the Belkin installation spoiled my Wireless connection. Be aware that this product may conflict with some of your USB devices, and since some applications wouldn't work I would try another alternative as a PCI serial port card or a USB to Serial cable from another manufacturer.

Hard rock solid boards.......2005-09-11

This board has more compatibility to various brand manufacturers' PC parts compared to other lesser grade model of ASUS boards. I have owned other A7N... product and I had a compatibility issue with the other board and other board simply didn't boot because of memory glitches(but worked well with this board). I live in the place where power voltage fluctuates once in a while. During those times, I had experienced sudden power cuts as well as sudden shutdown of computer. At a time my desktop became to a state where it plainly does not power down hard drive as the hard drive LED is still lit even though main power is off. So I had to go to the rear side of computer to switch off power supply to completely shut down the machine.
But in some time later, this all not-able-to-shut-down-business had gone away and now it snapped back to normal as before. I don't know if this was software problem or else, but I'm happy to see all the power down when turning off the computer.

On the downside, there are probably other newer model that support new cooler, less power hungry, and faster processor like athlon 64, so that you don't have to juggle around to hook up many fans for CPU not get fried by heat. There are also some work needed installing the new SATA drive as you have to use floppy disk and press F6 at the window installation to make SATA as boot drive. Manual didn't include how to install windows on SATA presumably for the fear they might have to support for what Microsoft is responsible at.
But there is a compensation for your work because you cannot ignore to notice how blazing fast SATA drives can do. there are only 2 SATA connectors built in the broads compared to conventional 4 at the newer boards.

I have used this board almost 24/7 for about 2 years and it is surviving well so far and overall I recommend to those who still has older socket A processors. It's not as cheap but it includes all the ports and accessories you want to add later, thus cutting the cost in long run.
