Power Amplifier for home stereo systems (Requires use of a Pre-Amp)
Amazon.com Product Description
Not everyone wants or needs a single feature-loaded surround receiver, which is where the AudioSource Amp One/A 160-watt stereo amplifier comes into play. A favorite of audiophiles everywhere, the device is built to deliver powerful music, pure and simple, with few gratuitous extra controls to get in the way. Listeners can use the Amp One/A as an independent stereo amp (80 watts x 2) when used with a preamp, or as an adjunct amp for a low-powered surround receiver with preamp outputs (it delivers 200 watts of mono power). Combine the Amp One/A with an additional monoblock amp and a preamp and listeners can powerfully drive two front left/right speakers or two rear speakers, further clarifying each channel to create dynamic, high-end sound. To connect additional components to the amp, use the included line-in jacks (for connecting to a source such as a receiver, CD player, or preamplifier) or the line-out/thru jacks (for creating a multi-amp setup). It's also simple to switch between stereo and mono modes thanks to the bridging switch.
The amp features a precise frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and total harmonic distortion of less than 0.04 percent--barely enough to register to the human ear. It also boasts color-coded five-way binding posts that make it easy to hook up stereo speakers. And at 16.5 by 2.38 by 11.62 inches (W x H x D), the device should fit comfortably in most rack mount or home entertainment setups. In addition, the Amp One/A is covered by a two-year warranty on parts and labor.

Disapointing.......2007-05-12
We purchased this amplifier to drive a 5-ohm load based on the manufacturers claim of a low impedance 4-ohm capability. The unit arrived dead out of the box. Amazon promptly credited us and provided a return label. We purchased an identical amplifier locally because of time constraints. When connected to the 5-ohm load it worked but got extremely hot and we shut it down. We double checked the ohm load and it was 5-ohms. We returned the amp and purchased a completely different amp in slightly higher price range from a different manufacturer. The new amp worked fine. The audiosource is OK for a basic, small 8-ohm load and does not have the low impedance characteristics advertised by the manufacturer.
A great buy.......2007-04-14
I have owned two of these amps for almost a year now and I am very fond of them. I have four bookshelf speakers that were being power by a stereo receiver. This stereo receiver bragged that it produced 100 Watts per channel for four channel. So, supposedly each of my speakers was getting 100 Watts of power. However, power in the audio industry is not well defined. Believe me as I am a physicist, they are pretty wacky in the audio business. To calculate power, one uses the formula Power=V^2/R, where V is the RMS voltage and R is the resistance of the circuit or load. Sorry this is getting a bit technical, but the moral of the story is the audio industry feels free to choose R at will. This means they can claim any power. The sad thing is it is legal to so do. Anyway, back to the review. I bought two of these amps to power my four speaker. That means I am running 80 Watts into each speaker. This should be quieter than my old receiver, but it is not. It is much louder because these amps actually put out a real 160 Watts as opposed to my old stereo receiver which most likely put out 50 Watts per channel.
Also, the signal to noise seems excellent. These are the first amps I have owned where if I run a clean signal in and turn the volume all the way up, I do not hear a hiss coming out of my speakers. In fact, they recommend that one keeps the amps turned all the way up at all times and simply adjust the input signal volume. This is what I do an it works well. I am very satisfied this this product.
Good Value, Prompt Delivery!.......2006-11-10
This is a top rated audio component. Price was equal to the lowest I could find online. Delivery was as promised (actually a day early). I chose Amazon for this transaction because of past experience and reputation.
Regards, Dave
Excellent value and sound; one of the best deals in amps!.......2004-12-12
I have been an audiophile since I was a teen (over 20 years), having owned some truly high end amplifiers like Bryston, Audio Research, and currently in my main system, a McIntosh MC162. All phenomenal amps. I also happen to own an AudioSource AmpTwo and an AmpOne, both superb amps for the money. The only difference with the AmpTwo, is that it has left and right channel lit VU meters that measure watts output and 'headroom' in db units. Very cool indeed! Other than this, the AmpOne is identical to the AmpTwo. The AmpOne is set up in my home office connected to higher end equipment like Parasound and a Denon HDCD player. My speakers are the very venerable and respected bookshelf horn speakers, the JBL HLS-610, which is very well balanced and revealing of source material and equipment. And lastly, I run fairly expensive 'StraightWire' interconnect cables between my components. That said, I have been blown away by the quality and neutral sound of this amplifier! The amp sounds detailed, accurate, warm, sweet, and powerful - attributes usually found in more expensive high end amplifiers as mentioned above, usually costing thousands of dollars! Quite an amazing feat for this solid little affordable AudioSource that satisfies even high demand audiophile ears like mine. Moreover, I have tested the AmpOne and AmpTwo while driving difficult power hungry loads, such as Magneplanar 4 ohm speakers, and they performed beyond my expectations. Kudos to AudioSource for providing one of the truly 'best bang for the buck' deals in stereo amplification out there! I highly, HIGHLY recommend this product.
VERY good amp for the money.......2003-07-23
very flat sounding. i'm tired of people comparing other amps and thinking they are better for one reason or another.. but thats consumer audio for you... the goal should be to have flat sound that is as true to the origional recording as possible.
at any rate, this amp doesnt stray much in frequency response across the spectrum, has practically no noise (most notably, you can turn it up all the way with no audible hiss at all) and very low harmonic distorion.
the only real downside to this amp (for this price.. or mabye even a much higher price) is that it would have a pretty hard time driving some of the bigger floorstanding speakers.. but if you have a good subwoofer, who cares, right?
Product Description
AudioSource power amps provide high sound pressure levels, as well as subtle details, with accuracy and transparency. You won't find better sounding amps at anywhere near the price. A torodial power transformer keeps stray magnetic fields to a minimum, and the discrete output devices ensure pure signal fidelity. Separate channel level controls allow for individual adjustment. A defeatable peak limiter circuit protects speakers from distortion at high volumes, and an auto-on circuit powers up the unit with a preamp signal and powers it down when no signal is present. AudioSource amplifiers, with dedicated power supplies, have dynamic power reserves lacking in receiver combos. AudioSource separates are better able to isolate individual parts, providing a clean signal path. AMP One/A is extremely easy to set up and can be configured to function in either stereo or mono modes. One pair of speakers can be used with this amp. Its Power Output is 80 watts per channel and 200 watts monobridged. You will certainly enjoy the value and quality of your AudioSource AMP One/A for many years to come.

First rate amplifier.......2007-02-15
I am using this amp in a biamp setup to drive only the lower frequencies, so I have not examined it's performance as a "stand alone" unit. It appears to be nearly noisless and gives a very clean and punchy low end, which is what I was looking for. Bargain price for such a fine amp.

Amazon.com Product Description
Canon's S30 and S40 cameras fill a gap in the company's digital lineup. Nestled between the ultra-tiny Elph models and the feature-packed PowerShot G and Pro models, the S30 and S40 combine most of the portability of the former with nearly every advanced feature of the latter.
With the exception of their CCD sensors (the S30 is a 3-megapixel model, while the S40 is 4-megapixel), the cameras are essentially identical. Each features a brushed aluminum body with a sliding clamshell lens cover, a 3x optical zoom Canon lens, and a 1.8-inch LCD on the back of the camera for previewing and reviewing shots.
For beginners, the cameras are point-and-shoot simple. Just twist the dial to Auto and start snapping pictures. For more experienced photographers, both models include aperture priority, shutter priority, and full manual modes, plus manual focus, exposure compensation, slow-sync flash, spot metering, and adjustable ISO (from 50 to 400 on the S40, and 50 to 800 on the S30).
Movie mode lets you capture video clips with sound. At 320 x 240 or 160 x 120 pixels, the movies aren't camcorder quality, but they're fun and convenient, and they're perfect as e-mail attachments. The cameras also include an unusual voice-memo feature, which lets you record up to 60 seconds of audio with each image.
To provide maximum battery life in the smallest possible space, the cameras use a proprietary lithium-ion battery (both the battery and a charger are included). The battery charges quickly and holds a reasonably long charge, but if you're planning to use the camera for extended outings, a spare battery is a good idea. A larger-capacity memory card is also advisable if you want to shoot more than a dozen photos at a time or really take advantage of the movie mode. The cameras use Type I or Type II CompactFlash cards, including the Microdrive. To print your photos at home, the S30 and S40 connect directly to Canon's CP-10 and S820D printers for easy printing--you don't even need a computer.
If you're looking for a camera with the sleek, compact style of a point-and-shoot with the extensive manual controls of an advanced amateur camera, the S30 and S40 are both great choices.

BE VERY CAREFULL OF THE SLIDING COVER!.......2006-07-29
I actually own the SD30 which is the 3.2MP which is our very first DC. I got it for the birth of my daughter and has captured all her milestones but sadly after 3 1/2 years the sliding cover for the lens gave out and the lens is stuck and so the camera would not operate anymore. The cost of having it repaired in a Canon service center in IL is as much as buying a new one so I am just looking to buying a newer model (still a Canon of course) Canon has proven a name in the world of photography by the quality of pictures you to take with their camera.
ood stable camera.......2005-12-17
I like the fact that the camera uses compact flash. The compact flash cards come in sizes up to 4G so that is nice.
Easy to use.
Beautiful pictures and few drawbacks.......2005-03-13
I've had the camera for a few months now and it's my first. I knew almost nothing about how to use a camera like this, and it does have A LOT of customization options. I did use the manual for the first day or so, but playing with it gave me the most knowledge.
Anyway, on to my review.
Pros:
-Beautiful picture quality. Compression isn't spectacular at the highest resolution, but much detail is still represented in the photos.
-Solid, sturdy design that is very pleasing to the eye.
-More options than you'd ever think you'd use, but they are all fantastic. The numerous ways of manually adjusting the picture are probably my favorite thing about the camera.
-Fast battery charging.
-Easy access to memory card and battery.
-Fast LCD response.
Cons (if you notice):
-Sliding lens cover hasn't broken, but it seems delicate.
-Mushy "Set" button mainly used to delete photos (in my experience). You'll get used to it.
-A little heavy.
-Shutter response isn't fast.
-Flash is a little too bright at standard settings, but is a cinch to adjust in most shooting modes.
-Movie mode could be better, but that's not what you're buying this for.
Recommendations:
-Extra memory, of course. The provided 16 MB card will only hold about 10 pictures in fullsize at full compression.
-An extra battery (or two, why not?). Go on eBay and find a knockoff battery. Search "NB-2L"
-A case. Buy one that's protective, and not too tight, because putting the camera in the case could inadvertently open the lens cover.
Overall: I highly recommend this camera, even if you don't know much about photography. If you care about how your pictures turn out, you will enjoy using this camera.
Perfect handheld for the amatuer photographer!.......2004-01-03
This is a great camera for anyone looking for advanced features at a compact size. Unlike Canon's "lower-end" models, the S40/45/50 series pack in all the adjustable/tweakable features seen in most "SLR" cameras at a lower cost. This camera is not as compact as some of Canon's and some of the other manufacturer's units. But the additional features offered by these cameras outweight the size/weight penalty.
My only complaint with these cameras are their less than desirable lenses. The S40 has a 3x optical zoom (11x digital) and doesn't have the lens power of some of the other Olympus cameras. Then again, if you're looking for that type of lens capability, you're not looking at these cameras and are more apt to looking at the higher-end SLR versions.
Overall, these cameras have the Canon photo quality and the construction quality. A great buy!
If you want to get into digital photography.......2003-12-31
...this is a good camera to start with. Especially if you use a Mac because it works great with iPhoto. If youre a beginner like me, you may be overwhelmed by the amount of features the S40 offers, but dont worry. Just put it on automatic and you will be able to take great pictures. It just takes a little practice to get used to the delayed response shutter button.
Some of the things I like about it:
1. It takes very nice pictures. Your pictures will look as good as anyones.
2. It has a movie mode that I didnt know existed until recently. Saves the movie (with sound) in AVI format (QuickTime player will play it)
3. Attractive small body (and who doesnt like attractive small bodies?)
4. The LCD display is great for reviewing your pictures
5. It takes gigantic pictures. At 100% they are about 20" tall by 30" wide. You probably wont ever print out anything this large, but this just means you have a lot of detail and resolution wont be a problem.
What I dont like as much:
1. Too many manual settings keeps me from experimenting too much. You would have to read the manual if you want to do any shooting besides automatic. And who wants to read a manual?
2. You have to get pretty close to your subject. Taking group pictures from much further than 10'-15' will not turn out very good. If you can get up close you will have great pictures. Dont try to use this camera at a football game from the stands. I just dont think it has enough zoom power.
Ive enjoyed using mine for the last year and a half. Like the reviewers before me, I recommend doing the following:
1. Get an extra battery cause you never know when the battery will run out of juice. It will cost $25-$50 depending on what brand you get.
2. Im not sure what size compact flash card comes with the camera, but its probably in the 16MB range which is pretty much useless. Being a 4.0 Megapixel camera, and shooting such a large picture, it eats up memory. Get a couple of 128MB's or even larger if you can and you will have room to take 100 or so pictures.
3. I dont think it comes with Photoshop Elements, but if you can afford it, get it. If you do cropping and getting photos web-ready you will want to have this or the full Photoshop package (you better be very good if you want Santa to bring this)
You will like this camera and all your friends will tell you that you take great pictures.

L Lens
|
| |
Lens construction: aspherical lens in blue, UD lens and fluorite in purple |
The PowerShot Pro1 incorporates Canon's top-of-the-line lens, the L Lens, legendary among professional photographers. Driven by an Ultrasonic Motor, the super-fast 28-200mm (35mm equivalent) f/2.4-3.5 lens uses fluorite and UD (Ultra-low dispersion) glass for clear, sharp image delineation with an absolute minimum in chromatic aberration. Also incorporated is an Aspherical lens, precision-manufactured to within 0.1 microns, which corrects spherical aberrations and curvilinear distortion while keeping the zoom lens compact.
Shooting modes for all occasions
PowerShot Pro1 offers shooting modes (see below) for every situation and level of photographic experience. Photo Effects in Vivid Color, Neutral Color, Low Sharpening, Sepia, Black & White and Custom are also available, boosting the artistry of your shots instantly.
Three light-metering modes deliver precise exposure: evaluative metering, center-weighted average metering and spot metering, which lets you measure exposure at the chosen AF point or the center of the frame for an exceptional level of control. And the camera's innovative FlexiZone AF/AE system lets you move the AF point around the frame to focus on off-center subjects without reframing the shot, and connects the AF point to the exposure system when the camera is in spot metering mode.
Modes
-
Custom: Control and store 2 sets of parameters to your exact preferences
-
Auto: Concentrate on your composition while the camera manages all the technical work.
-
Portrait: A larger aperture ensures a well-focused subject and beautiful background blur.
-
Landscape: A smaller aperture is perfect for capturing sweeping vistas
-
Night Scene: Background exposure and slow-sync flash light tricky night shots perfectly.
-
Shutter Speed Priority: Select from a wide range of shutter speeds while the camera sets an appropriate aperture.
-
Stitch Assist: Easily create precisely aligned panoramas. Stitch Assist even lets you confirm the next image to shoot on the LCD monitor or electronic viewfinder while you're shooting the current image.
-
Movie: Create movie clips with audio and enjoy a broad range of resolution choices: high-resolution VGA (up to 30 sec.) or long-play QVGA and QQVGA (up to 3 minutes). Unwanted scenes can be deleted during playback.
-

Incredible Up-close shots
Super Macro Mode: The PowerShot Pro1 features a standard macro function that allows you to shoot clearly at just 4" from your subject. It also incorporates a new Super Macro Mode that takes you in even closer. Position your subject as little as 1/2" from the tip of the lens and capture a full 8 megapixels of astonishingly close detail.
Bigger, Sharper, Vari-angle LCD monitor
With a comfortable, ergonomic grip and natural inline layout of key elements, PowerShot Pro1 is designed with the photographer in mind. The camera features a swiveling 2.0-inch Vari-angle LCD monitor that offers the highest resolution in its class at 235,000 pixels. The electronic viewfinder offers the same sharp resolution, and both keep pace with the high-speed zoom for seamless, responsive shooting. Information in the large display panel is always clear and visible and the panel can be illuminated at the push of a button. The mode dial is located for easy viewing during operation, and a main switch takes you quickly from shooting to playback mode.
Capture extremely fast-moving subjects
Speeding objects are fair game with a high-precision shutter drive that reaches a maximum speed of 1/4000 sec. (or you can shoot for up to 15 seconds in low light). Two continuous shooting modes capture high-impact images at any pace: standard (1 image per second) or high-speed (2.5 images per second).
Shoot high-quality movies with sound
High-quality movie clips with audio capture all the action. The PowerShot Pro1 offers several resolution choices: high-resolution VGA (up to 30 sec.), or long-play QVGA and QQVGA (up to 3 minutes). Delete unwanted scenes during playback.
Bracketing
Bracketing lets you capture 3 exposures with one shot, setting a range between ±2 stops at 1/3-stop increments. A major advantage to digital is the ability to switch ISO ratings without worrying about switching film rolls. PowerShot Pro1 offers instant access to ISO equivalents of 50, 100, 200 and 400.
Easy Connectivity
- To printers: The camera connects directly to a wide range of Canon Card Photo Printers and Canon Direct Photo Printers for a world of printing options: credit card-size, 4" x 6", 5" x 7", letter-size (8.5" x 11"), 11" x 13", labels, and much more, all without your computer. While Canon printers will deliver the highest quality prints from your PowerShot Pro1, the camera is equipped with PictBridge compatibility to ensure smooth connections to other manufacturers' printers as well.

Customer Reviews:
Powershot Pro 1.......2007-05-13
Canon made a masterpiece at that time, it is a very well thought and designed camera. Though it may look outdated now, but even now no one will match its potential. All in one camera, I am not ready to leave it at any cost.
good for non-action pics with good light, bad for everything else.......2007-01-10
I've used this camera pretty heavily for about a year, mostly for travelling. I've used it for candids, landscapes, action, and wildlife. Previously, my photo experience has been with Canon point and shoot digicams and Nikon film slrs. It's a bit unfair reviewing this now that it's almost 3-yr old technology, but I noticed that people are still selling this camera for over $1000 on this site.
For a "pro" camera, it has a large number of critical flaws (listed in order of how much they bug me):
1) slow focusing esp in low light. This renders the camera almost useless for action, and difficult to use for wildlife and even candids, where capturing the moment is everything. The focusing may be faster in continous mode, but then its always focusing and you have to keep the subject centered-- I like to not be looking in the viewfinder unless I'm about to take a picture. I don't own a canon accesory flash so I don't know if their focusing aids help. The manual focusing on the EVF display is too slow and cumbersome to use routinely.
2) slow shutter lag. Even on manual focus, with problem 1 taken out of the picture, there is a bit too much delay to consistently capture the shot I'm looking for.
3) Dust gets _inside_ the lens. I have read that this is a problem with this camera. Canon was good enough to rectify this when I sent it in, and they even said they sealed the lens to prevent the problem from happening. My brother has the same camera and this happened within 2 weeks of a trip to Europe-- not especially dusty. Unfortunately his is out of warranty so I don't know if they will do the same.
4)) hi noise at ISO 200 or 400. I think with commercially available noise reduction software this is a bit repairable. To be fair, the grain of most 400 speed color film can be as unattractive as the noise of this sensor at ISO 400. Since digital SLR's with less grain at ISO 1600 are now available, I don't think anyone should be selling this camera for $1000.
5) bayonet mount on front of lens scratches filters when used with included 58mm adapter. My $50 polarizer is now dedicated to use with this camera since with other lenses the scratches are in the optical axis.
6) built in flash pics are harsh. This is a problem with any built-in flash on any camera. Again I have no canon accessory flash to compare, so I can't really comment on this as a negative for a pro camera.
On the plus side, the camera does some things amazingly well:
1) super macro is quite impressive, even though 8mp or raw isn't possible.
2) the regular macro works pretty well.
3) it's a pretty compact solution for a 28-200 lens equivalent. The equivalent SLR is a lot bigger, though maybe not much heavier. I don't know how the lens quality of the pro 1 "L" lens compares to the non-L SLR lenses. You definitely won't find an affordable f2.8 SLR zoom lens for an attractive price (not a Canon at least). The lens is pretty good-- little distortion except at 28mm and little chromatic aberration. A hint of vignetting at 28mm as well.
4) It's ultra quiet. When I mute all the sounds, it makes only barely perceptible aperature noises.
5) the rotating lcd allows for true WYSIWYG composition from different angles, allowing for some stealthy shots and also good for macro stuff.
6) really great depth of field (I haven't objectively tested this so I don't know if the 7.2mm objective actually has better depth of field than an effective 28mm on an slr)
Taking into account it's strengths and weaknesses, I use the camera for travelling and taking landscapes when I don't want to carry around a big slr for the super wides. It's smaller and quieter than an slr and better for the surreptious candids, esp with the rotatable LCD. It'd probably be a good macro-specific camera but I haven't used the macro flash. For most uses, it can't possibly be worth it if fast-handling, low noise SLR with equivalent lens is available for the same cost or cheaper. I got it as a gift before lightweight travelling so it was great for that, but I'm looking to buy an SLR now.
A GREAT CAMERA, SIMPLY FANTASTIC.......2006-09-28
I bought this camera used at a consignment shop over a year ago, my second digital camera after losing my Samsung in Mexico. Battery life is great, and the battery charger was with it. The only bad thing I could find was lens cap had no string, and not USB 2.0. Canon's software package was it's usuall fantastic set. Took hundreds of pics with this camera, and resolution was just awesome.
Ran over the camera with my 1965 Mustang, and still take pictures with it. Beat that with any other camera!!! I will only buy Canon, also have a PowerShot A520 and A530. Love them all.
Fantastic Workhorse Of A Camera.......2006-08-25
I have used several digital camera's in the past including more expensive Digital SLR's but this is by far the easiest to use to obtain fantastic results WITH the ease of point and shoot.
I think the reviewers that were having problems with the camera's have not updated their camera's firmware and they also have not taken the time to read on how to best take a low light photograph or an action photo. If you want to get fancy with extra lenses and such this is NOT the camera to use. For the other 90% of the popluation, I don't think you'll be disappointed in the Powershot Pro 1.
I'm an investigator and use this camera on an almost daily basis in criminal cases where we use the pics for evidence and ultimately trial. At 8mp, the best quality photographs can be enlarged to poster size proportions with little degredation of the quality. It's battery life is fantastic and it has handled the daily wear and tear from frequent use quite nicely.
Great Digital Camera.......2006-08-09
This is a great camera for anyone that realy wants to take a very good, high resolution pix. The zoon lens is also a very good item.
I am a realtor and I take a lot of picture. With the zoom lens it is usually not necessary for me to get out of the car to take a professional picture.
I would also recomed that you purchase an additional battery for the camera. The reason being is that is is very convenent to have an additional battery to replace the one in the camera once it is low on charge.

Tripod with Detachable Legs.......2007-05-15
Great Item. I use it as a monopod as well as an umbrella stand. Attach a Photoflex Shoe Mount Multiclamp and you have an umbrella stand. This item would receive 5 stars if the detachable legs were a little more sturdy.
Mono / Tri - Pod.......2007-01-20
This Mono Pod is very well constructed. Great for field trips it has the benfits of both a great Mono Pod and the benifits of a Tri Pod. The bottom of the Mono Pod unscrewed and three legs come out then you screw it back on and you have a Tri Pod.
Does not take up any room to have the benifits of both.
I used it for the Holiday's it was Great, did everthing I wanted to do with out any trouble.
An excellent addition to your camera support equipment........2005-11-15
Bogen/Manfrotto products are high quality professional gear and this monopod is no exception. The monopod is an important addition to every photographer's support equipment. Next to the tripod, the monopod is the best way to brace a camera when space is limited, or where weight may be a concern.
This monopod is comprised of three sections with quick action lever locks. The top screw fits my basic 3D junior head, but has a retractable sheath allowing the camera to easily attach. The top is padded for a comfortable grip and includes a strap. The base has a rubber foot to prevent slippage. The base also twists off to reveal a cavity containing three retractable legs for a tripod effect. Place the legs in the notches of the base and screw the base back onto the monopod and you now have a free standing monopod.
I first used this monopod on a trip to Rome as recommended by a well known camera shop in NY. I have to say they were right on the mark. I was surprised to see signs stating "No Tripods" at the sights yet I walked in with my monopod without any issues. The legs came in handy while standing on the top of a wall to get the perfect low light shot. And while walking through the ruins of Pompeii, I must admit I used it as a walking stick.
On a recent trip to Budapest, I decided to take the tripod instead. There were no tight spaces for me to be worried about, so the tripod worked well. However I noticed a big difference between carrying around the monopod and the tripod in terms of comfort and weight.
I have also noticed that the legs do not have the same stability of a tripod. When using the legs, I recommend weighting down the legs or staying near enough to grab a hold if needed. I use a Canon 20D and have quite a few L lenses making for a top heavy set up. I can see where a good gust of wind could easily topple this monopod with legs over. Another use for this monopod is as a stand for your off camera flash.
PROS:
Lighter than a tripod
Easy and quick to use
High quality
CONS:
Rattling legs
Not as stable as a tripod when using the legs
A good start.......2003-10-09
Not bad for a monopod, but legs could be secured better when stowed. It tends to rattle, so you'll have to use rubber bands to subdue the clunkiness. A shorter overall length, sturdier legs, and lighter weight would be ideal. Otherwise, a great device for not having to carry a much bulkier tripod. I highly recommend it if you're in the market for a high-end monopod.
