This pair of WristLinx X33XIF 2-way radios from XACT Communication lets you and a partner can keep in synch and in communication on hikes, shopping trips, and other excursions. Voice activation is ideal for hands-free communication--just speak into the microphone and the X33XIF will beam your words directly to any other FRS walkie-talkie user in range. Want a little more privacy? Use the supplied earbud headset with boom microphone. The unit's backlit LCD is clear and easy to read, showing time, use mode, signal strength, and battery strength.
The radio runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery (included), which charges when the unit is plugged into its AC/DC power adapter. Running time on a single charge is about 2 hours. Other features include channel scan, call alert, and an electronic volume control. The radio has a 300mW TX power output and 5.2 MHz bandwidth.

The battery is the problem. I wish I just stayed with conventional walkie-talkies for my sons. Stay away from this product until they fix the problem.
Fantastic Radio - Horrible Batteries.......2005-10-29
The radio worked great for my kids. The range was limited, but better than I expected. It fit good, did not come off, strong case, and even sounded good on both ends. They worked great about 10 times, but then the batteries would not even charge. I have lots of NiCad's and even a timed charging station so they did not get over charged. These special (not to be found anywhere else) batteries are just junk. They are easy to swap, but I am not sure I want to put up with customer service or the price trying to get more.

They worked well for a few months and now the sound does not come out of either one. Customer service has not been called yet to figure out the problem.

I bought a set of these for my kids for Christmas. They were so excited when they opened them.....that I had to try and get another set when the first didn't work.....and then ANOTHER set after that. This THIRD set worked so-so for a day but the battery life was short. We recharged them once and used them again then when the batteries died again they were put aside. A couple months later the kids wanted to use them again but one of the batteries wouldn't charge. I called customer service where I was rudely told that I needed to buy a new battery from them for $17 and "that's why we sell them", uh-huh, that's what I figured! Even after speaking to a supervisor I was told there was no way they would replace the battery that I needed to either send them in under warranty for $7 or buy the $17 battery. Funny one battery still works fine and the other doesn't but they claim the battery isn't faulty. Whatever happened to good customer service and manners? A sad lesson for my kids.

Reporters and other professionals who regularly record telephone interviews know what a pain it is to rig up a phone recording device. Many people attach special equipment to their regular tape recorders, a less-than-ideal solution that leaves a tangle of cords around your desk. If you're having these sorts of problems, it may be time to step up to something like Bell Sonecor's Microcassette Tele-Recorder.
Like most recorders, this device has a microphone jack and headphone jack, but what sets it apart is the telephone handset jack. You use the included telephone cord to connect the recorder to the handset (or headset) jack on your telephone's base unit, and then connect the handset to the recorder. This is a great boon to those with multiline telephones, because most recording equipment can interface with only one of the lines. The Tele-Recorder records whichever line is in use at the time.
The unit runs on a pair of AA batteries and also accepts 3-volt DC power although an AC adapter (which is not included). There are two selectable recording speeds that let you either get double the amount of time from your tapes or achieve better recording quality. A switch on the side lets you choose whether you want to record calls or play recordings back through the telephone. The unit includes voice-activated recording circuitry that can cut down on the amount of tape used and conserve battery power, but like all voice-activated technology, it tends to slightly clip off the first word that triggers it. The only thing we really didn't like about this device was the switch used to fast-forward and rewind tapes. It's important to be able to quickly rewind a few seconds of tape while transcribing, but this switch is stiff and locks into place too easily. Simple fast-forward and rewind cue buttons that don't lock down would be preferable. But, if you can live with that, then the Tele-Recorder provides one of the easiest and most convenient ways to add a recorder to your telephone. --T. Byrl Baker

Bell Sonecor Micro-Cassette Tele-Recorder.......2002-01-16
So far, the Bell Sonecor performs OK. It came with the spring
detached from the Cassette door, which keeps the door from being held firmly shut. Better 'quality control' would have prevented this.
It is difficult to remount the spring because of possible damage to the unit in the process and components are mostly plastic.
I am using it as is.
Returning it for exchange is not worth the expense involved.

The device NEEDS a dedicated AC adapter.
I am a salesperson and as such I coordinate meetings with various customer/prospect personnel and technical personnel at my company. I usually set up these conference calls and normally keep the notes of the calls. There are many questions and action items that need to be followed up on as a result of these meetings. This recorder allows me to fully participate in the call without worrying about keeping notes and when the call is over, I can go back and retrieve the entire contents of the call. I can then create notes of the call and send to all parties involved to verify that everyone is in agreement as to the action items from the call and who made what committments.
I have 1 or 2 conference calls a day and this device allows me to make those calls as well as my normal call load and have a life.
The sound quality is very good.
It also has the ability to play the recording back into the handset if you want to allow a third party to hear the call.

The tuner on this stereo is a little hard to get used to, but if you use the stereo mainly to listen to your mp3 player in your car it is a bargan. I the front input is very convienent and I am very pleased with the sound quality of the item. For the price, this is the best value around.
OK CD player, very poor AM/RM receiver.......2004-04-01
CD player works fine. But the AM/FM receiver is very poor.
The receiver is very subject to interference. LOC doesn't
help, and infact often makes holding a station worse.
