Works but almost impossible to cable.......2004-08-26

Functionally it works fine, but for some brain damaged reason
the designers made the two video inputs be HD15 male instead of
HD15 female like they should be. This means the standard SVGA
male to male cable you already have with your computer won't
work! You can buy an SVGA extension cable ($40 for a 6ft cable)
that is male to female, but remember you will need one for each
input, so you have already paid more than for the switch! Worse,
the extension cables come with the two protruding nuts on the
female end, but the box has two protruding nuts on the male input
so you will need to 'modify' your extension cable by hack-sawing
off the nuts, which means there is no way to screw the conectors
in. All and all a HORRIBLE design, and I don't recommend anyone
buy it. I sure wish someone else made a competeing product with
the right gender connectors, but I can't seem to find one.

For what it does, it does it perfectly.......2007-04-02

Performs exactly as advertised; automatically switches flawlessly between two VGA signals. I use it on my monitor that has a VGA input for my computer and Xbox 360. Very solid construction, super easy to set up. Note that this is not a KVM switch but rather an automatic video switch like an automatic s-video switch from Radio Shack; it detects new signals and switches over to them; there is no manual control.

The audio support is great; it has two audio inputs and one audio output that correspond to the VGA ports; many other VGA switches do not have this feature, and audio support makes it great for say, two video game consoles which both use VGA (although you may need an audio adapter or two because the audio ports are 3.5mm jacks instead of optical or RCA-type).

The price is steep for what little it does, but it does it well. I went for this product, which is more industrial, over similar, more consumer-catered products because I wanted it to work perfectly (and for the audio support). I was not disappointed. The only downsides are it requires power from its included adapter which takes up an outlet, and it has an LED which cannot be turned off. But these are minor gripes. If you need an automatic VGA switch with audio, I would recommend this one over any other. Since very few people really need such a thing, that doesn't say much. But if you are reading this, you probably do need one, so give the product a shot.

There are better labelers out there. It doesn't work with Office 2007 either.

Don't waste your money.......2007-02-08

I've had this label maker for over a year now and have successfully printed about 2 labels, and successfully wasted about 50 labels. This label printer does not work at all. It's very difficult to use and I have yet to turn it on and print a label without issues. It's junk and I wish I could get my money back. Do not waste your money on this. It doesn't even deserve 1 star.

Problems loading labels.......2006-10-29

I'm disappointed with this label printer, but I don't use it very much. Loading labels should be very easy according to the instructions, but in practice, it isn't easy to get them properly lined up and in the position to print properly. The printer also is wasteful of the labels, sending several blank labels out before printing the first one. If I had it to do over, I would skip buying this printer and print my labels on my laser printer.

I bought the Avery PLP 9100 thinking it would be a great asset. I could print one label quickly and slap it on an envelope and pop it in the mail. From the first though, one of the drawbacks to the printer is that it advances one label as you turn it on. No printing on that label, it just wastes a label unless you open the lid and physically rewind the label on the wheel. THAT is tiresome, and surely doesn't save any time.

Just recently, I went to print a label as usual and the printer is now not printing on the labels. I am using the correct labels (the ones I had been using all along, Avery ones) but something is not working right. I called Avery and we did all sorts of things to make it work, but I still had a yellow flashing light, which means the printer isn't feeding the label correctly. I have loaded the labels many times and I KNOW HOW TO DO IT, so it leads me to believe that this is a defect in the printer itself. My call to Avery resulted in no fix at the time, and the associate said she would submit it to her supervisor, and that I would hear from them in 24 to 48 hours. I suspect that means I will hear from them in a day or two. Hopefully. I think they should just give me a new PLP that works correctly, or refund my money.
