Product Description
The stylish Rebel Ti burst onto the scene, quickly becoming the most popular SLR in its class. Intelligent, advanced automation and the widest range of features and shooting modes are combined for the ultimate creative control available when you need it. With the Ti's solid, stainless steel lens mount, the camera accepts any of Canon's world-renowned EF lenses.
Amazon.com Product Description
Canon has once again raised the bar in the world of 35mm SLRs with its EOS Rebel Ti. Canon claims the Rebel Ti has the fastest autofocus (AF) in its class, which should increase accuracy and precision for shooting at a real-life pace. A built-in flash pops up easily for shooting in low-light situations, and its extended arm reduces red-eye effect. The included EF 28-90mm f4-f5.6 standard zoom lens is an ideal all-around lens for wide angle to medium telephoto photography.
Fast, accurate, and flexible, Rebel Ti's three autofocus systems (the camera chooses the best one automatically) free you to concentrate on your composition and to just have fun. Seven focusing points cover an area wider than any other camera in its class, letting you place your subject off-center or even focus on the area covered by multiple focus points.
The glare-free laser matte viewfinder displays seven wide-area focusing points, which are clearly superimposed to guide composition. There's also a dioptric adjustment so that prescription glasses can be removed for up-close comfort. The extralarge LCD panel is illuminated for clear viewing whatever the lighting conditions.
You can rely on Rebel Ti's automatic exposure system for professional results, but the camera's special exposure controls give you lots of room for experimentation. With the camera's multiple exposure control, you can place up to nine images in a single frame for impressive surrealistic compositions.
Shooting feels natural because the shutter button, AF point selector, main dial, command dial, and even the LCD panel's buttons are all within reach for one-handed operation. The command dial has seven preset image controls for work in various common shooting situations.
The lens mount is solid stainless steel to handle Canon's full line of world-renowned lenses. A built-in, automatic pop-up flash eliminates guesswork. It recycles for action quickly, and with a red-eye reduction lamp built right in, images are natural and flattering.

An excellent product for a beginner - to - intermediate.......2007-03-10
This is an excellent camera. It has helped me learn more about photography. The preset modes allow you to just point and shoot when you're in a rush, and the manual mode lets you get more creative.
fast, accurate, versatile, durable. little bulky, but all SLR's are.
Excellent Camera, Fun to Use!.......2007-03-01
I've only have my Canon Ti for a week and I've already developed and purchased additional film (B&W). I was instantly impressed and amazed at the quality of pictures that I, as an amateur (and first-time camera owner) could produce. The color, sharpness, and realism portrayed in the film, along the light-weight, durable, and attractive camera body makes it a popular model, with no shock.
I did a lot of personal research on modern day SLR 35mm cameras before I made my purchase and my eyes were instantly fixated on this model. The only reason that I did not give this camera a full 5-star review is that this is not the best camera on the market. Dispite the excellent monetary value, depth of use (a 60-page manual included!), and film quality that is produced, this camera is not the best out there, and obviously lacks digital properties. However, being a college student, and having a film camera in mind, this was the best choice for me; I'm a proud new Canon owner, I don't regret my purchase in the slightest, and I can't wait to take more pictures.
All I personally recommend is: look for a better deal through Amazon's private dealers or on eBay, read the instruction manual, don't be intimidated, and have fun...this camera takes great pics, good shooting.

I love this camera.......2006-06-11
I got this camera on my birthday in 2001 based on the local camera dealer advice. I wanted a camera to take good action pictures for my boys karate stuff. It takes great pictures. I have been very happy with my pictures. The last 3 years I have been doing powerpoint presentations for our local school system and the pictures looks great on the big screen. I go to costco to get the film developed and asked for the digital cd. I when I compare my pics to someone elses digital pics in the PPT, my pictures out ways theirs by a far. I am currently looking for a digital camera (processing film gets costly when I do alot of PPT) that will get give me the same result as my canon but right now I will stick with my canon.
Nice pictures, bad craftsmanship.......2006-01-22
I've owned the Ti for two years. I've taken many good photos over the past two years, and really enjoyed the quality of close up pictures with the included lens. I have been disappointed a few times with taking landscape night photos. Even when the camera is sitting still on a flat surface, its still hit and miss with a long exposure.
Recently, the very tiny plastic piece that latches the film cover closed broke, rendering the camera useless. Once more it didn't break from a hard drop, or massive hit. It simply broke after I set it down on a table. Even though I've had the camera for two years, I'd say I've only gone through less than two dozen rolls of film. So it can't have broken from excessive use either.
Luckily I bought an extended warranty and will not be out $300, but now I think I may make the move to digital. If you want to stick with 35mm, the Canon rebel series is good while it lasts, but be sure to protect your investment with an extended warranty.
AMAZING.......2005-12-01
I love this camera so much! I got it as a graduation gift in May of 2004. I took this camera with me on my european excursion. It takes beautiful pictures and is very very easy to operate. I would recomend this camera to anyone who's looking for a quality 35mm with manual and automatic controls. I love this camera!

Customer Reviews:
A great start to an awesome line of 35mm SLRs.......2004-12-28
When buying a SLR camera, you likely intend to purchase additional lenses and/or flashes to build a system (if not, maybe a point and shoot would be better). Canon has an awesome line of flashes, lenses, and other accessories for their bodies. Sadly they all add up to quite an expense, so buying a body at the lower end, such as this one, can allow you to spend more on lenses, which ultimately contribute much more to the final product (only your own abilities exceed them in impact). The difference between this body and some of Canon's higher end ones is minimal for most users (bodies costing 2-4 times as much are metal, sealed from the weather, and may focus quicker, but few really need any of this). This camera leaves few feautures out (especially when compared to competing brands' cameras in this price range), and you can build a wonderful system around it. If you ever do develop a need for a fancier model, you will have learned a whole lot from this body and will have a collection of lenses and flashes to continue to use.
confused.......2004-02-24
I have been looking at this camera for the past few days and then today I look and the price went up $17, that's lame.
Great Deal.......2004-02-21
I had my Cannon rebel G stolen on Chrismas, so for a replacement I have been Eying the new Cannon Ti. Every store I've looked at sells this model for $300, and up. It comes with the smaller 35-80mm Lens, and thats it. I was very happy with this package deal, because it came with a better len's 27-90mm( Nice Close ups!), Camera bag, 2 batteries, cleaning kit, Mini tripod, and a role of film! On top of that it was free to ship! The camera itself is beautiful, a nice step up from my stolen Rebel G!
So much fun!.......2003-11-16
I love this camera. I am not a professional photographer. I use my camera to have fun. I have taken over a dozen rolls of film and they all turned out great. I have never owned a SLR camera until now, but I will from now on. This one is very easy to use. I did get the deal with the case and all, but I paid only $368. As for the comment about making more money, every store has sales. Sometimes you hit them, sometimes you don't. My pictures (of my newborn son) are priceless and I am so glad they were taken with this camera instead of another.
why is the price going up every week??.......2003-11-04
I started to notice this page for 3 weeks now and the price keeps going up every time. It started at $359.99 when i saw it for the first time then 369.99 and now its 399.99. Not sure if amazon is playing a trick to make more money during holiday season???
becareful and there are other places u can get this for around 359.

Customer Reviews:
Good basic P+S.......2007-09-11
Decent amount of options, good lens quality, but do wish it had exposure compensation and spot metering, I've found many lighting situations where this camera could have used those features. Also wish the lens were a little wider angle so found a used Canon Z90W.
Poor picture quality.......2007-04-17
Better late than never with my review I guess. You get what you pay. The price was cheap but the picture quality was very poor. Even in bright outdoor situations, the pictures were under exposed and grainy. Really disappointed with this and we ended up buying a new camera soon afterwards.
Buy a Disposable over this.......2003-11-18
Very disappointed. The pictures are focused incorrectly. The flash is off so that half the picture gets the flash light and the other half is in a shadow. My disposable cameras take better pictures. I was hoping for a very simple camera that took better than disposable camera quality pictures. Very disappointed.
Amazing pictures- great price!.......2003-08-04
I didn't expect this much from a camera that costs this little. The pictures are nice and clear, and the zoom is great for close-ups of active kids. I'm impressed!
very disappointed.......2003-07-28
This camera has been a disappointment from day one. It was hard to load even using DX film. After only two rolls of film, I started getting a flashing "H". The battery was still full although I replaced it anyway. I reloaded film and tried all troubleshooting suggestions. The "H" still appears. Customer service would not help except to tell me to pay for repairs.

The Canon Sure Shot 85 Zoom date (platinum) kit provides the casual photographer with a maximum array of features in a sleek, ultracompact design. An advanced three-point, 280-step Smart Autofocus system quickly and concisely identifies and focuses on the main subjects of your shot. The built-in lens cap opens and closes automatically, allowing for simple user operation and making the Sure Shot 85 Zoom perfect for beginners.
Its 38-85mm (2.2x) power zoom lens lets you select the composition that you want. The 38mm is great for wide-angle shots, group scenes, or landscapes, while 85mm is ideal for intimate portraits and close-ups. Or set it somewhere in between--this camera's zoom selection makes it easy to capture the moment. The ultrafast Real Time shutter setting is ideal for capturing sports or other action shots. Whatever the situation, Canon's three-point Autofocus produces sharp, dramatically vivid photos every time.

The Canon Sure Shot 85 also comes with a self-timer, red-eye reduction, and automatic film load, advance, and rewind. Green and orange LED indicators, located in the viewfinder, inform users of acceptable or warning conditions. The Best Camera That Canon Makes.......2006-03-24
This camera was and still is a A+ camera for me. I have had it since 3rd grade and it was a great starter camera. It is very easy to take pictures with. It also is extremely user friendly and you don't have to be a rocket scietist to use it!!! [...]
don't bother with this camera.......2003-11-12
This camera is a piece of crap! I had a Nikon many years ago that I foolishly sold, for this more "Easy to use" Sure Shot. It should be called the Sure Sucks. Red eye everywhere even when the function is turned on, and the "auto focus" when shooting indoors in low light is terrible. This "hold button halfway down, then wait for the light, then shoot" garbage is ridiculous in today's technology. I am selling this as quickly as I can and am truly disappointed in the Canon name- which I trusted when I bought this camera.
Great pictures with the right film.......2002-01-04
I bought this camera for my mom, I received a free roll of film Kodak Max 400. The pictures came out super, it was clear, the colours were rich, bright and very detailed.
I recommend the use of this film, its excellent, not only for this particular camera but any other camera.
Red Eye -- Red Eye ..........2001-12-10
I had a Ricoh 35mm for about 12 years (I loved that camera - I took it everywhere). It finally just broke. I needed a new camera - after many hours of research we decided to buy a canon. We bought the 85 and the 120. We took identical pictures with both cameras. The 85 had red eye problems even when the red-eye function was on. The 120 has similar but fewer red-eye problems. The color and crispness was beautiful. However, the red-eye simply ruins the photos. I never used the red-eye function on my Ricoh - and when reviewing my last few hundred photos - I noticed that I never had red-eye. I'm so dissapointed that Ricoh no longer sells the 35mm. I returned both cameras. I am now stuck with no camera. Do not buy this camera!
