I copy Video DVDs that I have created and CDs, both audio and data, at top speeds and get great copies. A DVD with a full 4.7 GBs copies in about 15 minutes. Speeds are selectable. I can even compile custom audio CDs right on the machine without having to go to a computer. Great Product

It would be nice if the manufacturer reserved the reviews of their product for actual consumers. They should stick to using the "manufacturer's description" section, and stop giving their own product 5-star reviews.

Wish I knew.......2004-04-26

I give this 3 stars because I've had this unit for almost 2 weeks now and still don't know if I can make a movie on it that is readable on a regular DVD player. I made an entire movie using Intervideo only to learn that it doesn't support this or any other Alera units. (I always thought drivers prevented this?) Anyway, the only software that seems to work with it is Ulead, the software bundled with it and the version sent won't do much. (For example, play background music across videos and stills) So I tried to buy the Ulead upgrade only to find that their web site ordering system is pretty useless. After speaking with VISA I found out that my order had been approved only to be sent back by Ulead as rejected???? So I still don't know if I can make the movie I want to make. If I were to do it again, I'd by something compatible with Intervideo.

Pros:
Bright, clear, high resolution.
Handles low light and excessive light conditions well.
Center Diopter adjustment is great.
Easy to focus precisely.
Small size for full size binos.

Cons:
Objective lens caps are not tethered.
A bit heavy.

Make sure you get the Bushnell Discoverers. The B&L Discoverer's are not phase coated.
