Great little printer!.......2007-09-11
This printer is so cool! I have the external battery and bluetooth adapter hooked up to it. My HP laptop recognizes the printer every time. Data transmission via the bluetooth is fast, and printing is suprisingly fast for a printer of this size.
I purchased it mainly for printing out invoices and other documents on location, so I haven't had a chance to do any color printing.
The printer's a bit pricey, especially when you add the extras, but for the compact size, I think it's worth it!
Nice little portable.......2007-09-11
Compact, fast and portable. The optional Bluetooth is a nice feature. Could benefit greatly from being USB powered like their LiDE scanners.
Love it!.......2007-09-09
I am in love with the size of this printer. Not to mention it moves a lot faster than my outdated hp photosmart printer. The only problem is the ink tank is so small, you might have to replace often. I haven't replaced mine yet, I've printed about 40 pages but others have said they have had to replace at 50 pages. Other than that, this little printer is a marvel and offers lots of options.
Pixma i90 Photo Inkjet Printer is great!!.......2007-09-09
I really enjoy how convenient this product is. Literally plug in your camera, and push the print button on the camera, and you have pictures. Easy to work with the computer too.
Canon Pixma Photo Inkjet Printer iP90.......2007-09-06
I use for documents. Excellent. Looks like quality of laser printer. Compact and fits in my briefcase along with my laptop. Initially, I recommend extra Canon BCI 15 (black), and Canon BCI 16 (color) print cartridges as they are very small as well as expensive. Costco may have a variety of this cartridge that is cheaper. I have used for several weeks so I won't comment on the long term performance of this printer.

Pint-sized Printer Packs a Punch.......2007-09-23
This printer is great for light volume, high quality printing. What I love most about it is that it can print 8.5" x 11" sheet and it is only the size of a book. It is lighter than a dictionary. It prints fast too.
The ink cartridge is small. The black one lasts 2 to 3 months before we order new ones. We only print on the average 4 pages a week in our household so it has not been a problem for us. We have not needed to change the color ink cartridge yet and it has been about 6 months. And I wish the blue tooth adapter was built in but you have to buy additionally.
I got this printer from another online retailer at great price but it arrived not working. We went to the Canon website and found out our local Canon authorized service. We took it in and they fixed the problem for us within 2 or 3 days free of charge. We are quite pleased with the product and the service.
Canon iP90v Portable Printer.......2007-09-19
I got this printer as a replacement for my HP450 portable printer. The Canon is smaller and operates better than the HP. It prints quickly and feeds properly (a problem with the HP). I've had the printer about a month, and things have gone well so far. Hopefully, I won't have any feed problems!
Great Manual.......2007-08-05
I purchased the iP90v in the hope of using it at Special Events and Fairs. I needed a photo printer that was relatively light with the added option of being able to print directly from a camera. The iP90v certainly lived up to my expectations when it came to those two options. With a 'Picbridge' compatible device like my Canon 30D I can print pictures directly from the camera without using a heavy laptop computer as the middle man. The iP90v also comes with computer software that let's you print from a computer if you wish to to do so.
I'm not sure if others had the same problem, but downloading this software was extremely difficult and complicated. It took me a few hours just to get it right compared with my other 2 printers which were pretty much plug and play. Luckily this printer came with a very good 'English' only manual that did a very good job of pointing out mistakes. The computer software gives you the options of organizing your photos, and minor editing features such as color balance, red eye removal, brightening or darkening of the picture. There are very few options when printing from 'PicBridge".
This was my main gripe about this printer, because I read that PicBridge does give you the option to edit photos inside the camera, but NOT with this printer ! The printer came with 1 pack of 25 sheet 4X6 paper, but I ordered 3 more packs - 50 4X6, 25 5X7 and 25 8X10 Glossy sheets, because I wanted to see how the printer performed under different conditions. For plain old text this printer is great, very fast and very sharp. You can get an A4 in about 1 minute.
For photos, this printer has a tendency to underexpose(darken) your pictures. My best prints are the ones that were originally over exposed by about 1 stop. I called Canon about this and after the service Rep took 3 minutes to read the manual over the phone, he told me that my best bet would be to over expose my pictures by 1 stop when using this printer. I figure I could live with that since my camera has automatic over/under exposure compensation, but it's still a hassle.
How did the prints come out. I would say I got some very acceptable looking pictures in all three formats 4X6, 5X7 and 8X10 in about 4 minutes. The colors match up well and there was no smudging even when using Glossy paper. I would say that somebody at a Special Event, or at a Fair might find the prints from this printer very acceptable indeed. Whereas someone paying for a professional portrait, or fine art work would not. The minute details are just not there. To be fair, however, I have not tried all the types of papers this printer can handle and which might give me better results than plain old Glossy.
Durability ? The printer is solidly built. I wouldn't call it a Tank, but it does feel pretty solid. I still think that for travel, a padded case or taveling bag would be a very wise purchase. One thing though the paper feeder door latches are made of flimsy plastic and don't look durable at all. I figure they are going to be the first to go.
I haven't used this printer much to say whether I love it or hate it. So far it does a pretty good job of printing Color and B&W prints on the go. You can also print custom made stickers and labels with it. Not bad especially the stickers part.
One thing the manual does not mention is the amount of prints you can get from a single ink cartridge. I called Canon about this and they were pretty evasive about it, rather stating that it depends on the situation. Finally a rep told me that you could get about 185 4X6's on the Black ink catridge. About 400 4X6s with the Color ink cartridge. I found those numbers astronomical since I dont think my much bigger Epson printer can get as many prints from a single cartidge. Maybe the rep though I was talking about Text ? I'll just have to wait and see.
Canon on the road.......2007-06-27
I'm now at my 3rd Canon travel printer, and still very happy with them! I was looking for a wireless printer and for battery energy. Now I have both, Bluetooth which works perfectly well. I'm amazed about the longevity of the battery! Printing quality is perfect for my needs... (I make my own picture "postcards" which get admired by everybody I send them to)
Mobile convenience.......2007-06-14
This printer is pretty pricey at retail compared to other offerings on the market, especially when coupled with the LK-51B battery and the BU-10 Bluetooth adapter. However, it's a very compact, lightweight, and rugged printer that fits nicely in my backpack, and can print on full-sized 8.5x11 paper. Buying from Amazon during a sale netted me a very decent savings off MSRP.
Photo quality on photo paper is very, very good. Text quality on normal inkjet paper is not perfect, but is more than adequate for most purposes, and is comparable to that of my larger Canon Pixma iP6600D.
If you buy it to use with a notebook on the go, get the LK-51B battery. With the battery, I was able to shoot digital photos for damage reporting, download them to my notebook, and then print them off on 4x6 photo paper at a lease signing in a house with no electricity. Very convenient!

Features: 10 different call tones Auto squelch Belt clips 38 privacy codes 10 mile range Selectable hi/low power in GMRS 10-channel memory
Amazon.com Product Description
Boasting an ultra-clear long-distance range of up to 10 miles (depending on terrain and conditions), this pair of Cobra PR 3500-2 DX two-way radios is ideal for adventurous hikers, rescue workers, or even parents who need to keep tabs on their kids from several blocks away. Each radio comes equipped with 22 channels--eight GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service), seven FRS (Family Radio Service), and seven GMRS/FRS combo channels--on which to communicate, in addition to 38 privacy codes. All told, the channels and privacy codes combine to provide 836 "sub-channels," ensuring that conversations are always exclusive even in crowded areas. And should you accidentally lose contact with your group, you can easily scan the possible code combinations to learn which nearby channels are active, or scan for unused channels when the frequencies are packed.
Communicating through the radios is simple and intuitive thanks to such features as the 10-channel memory, which invites the user to program individual channels or channel/privacy code combos for easy retrieval; a roger beep tone that signals the end of your transmission; an auto squelch option that automatically shuts off weak transmissions or unwanted noise; Cobra's patented silent VibrAlert for incoming calls; and the illuminated LCD that's readable even at night. And folks who like to use their radios while their hands are otherwise occupied will delight in the voice activation function (VOX), which detects and transmits the user's voice automatically without requiring any button depressions (requires separately sold microphone and earpiece).
Unlike the walkie-talkies of a few decades past, the 3500-2 DX radios are equipped with powerful signals and switchable power outputs. Users can choose between the high-power setting to maximize range or the low-power option to conserve battery life. A further power benefit stems from the battery saver circuitry, which automatically switches the radios to conservation mode if there are no transmissions within 10 seconds.
Other features include a key lock function that preserves the settings; 10 assignable call tones for incoming calls; and a couple of belt clips that secure the radios while you're on the move. All this in a durable, water-resistant housing that's great for both indoor and outdoor use. Each radio measures 2.36 by 6.65 by 1.61 inches (W x H x D) and carries a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
Note:
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires that operators on General Mobile Service (GMRS) and Private Land Mobile (PLM) frequencies obtain an FCC license prior to use. To learn more, please visit the FCC web site.
What's in the Box
Two GMRS/FRS radios, two belt clips, user's manual.

Solid, Dependable Set of Radios.......2006-08-11
A very good radio. 4+ miles range in a suburban Denver, Colorado neighborhood setting. Ran out of road, but at 4 miles as the crow flies, communication was clear and no static. Could have gone much further. Very solidly built. Easy to use. Very good audio. Very long life battery pack. I recommend these highly for sportsmen needing to keep in touch with each other.
2 radios make one.......2006-06-09
I've used Motorola FRS Radios in the past but got a good buy on these Cobras and they are supposed to have better range. Used them on three occasions with minimal actual use. Took them out this season and found that one receives but doesn't send, the other sends but doesn't receive. Of course they are out of warranty. Two out of two defective radios does not inspire me to try the brand again.
I returned this item.......2005-12-28
I was concerned with the warning about these radios containing lead and the need to wash your hands every time you used them, so I returned them unopened, I was dissapointed as I was exepecting them eagerly.
Excellent UHF GMRS.......2005-07-06
I orignally purchased the Motorola T6500R GMRS and then discovered the bad reviews on them. Promptly returned them and researched other radios. I was surprised by the lack of reviews on the newest Cobra, Motorola and Midland radios.
I went with the Cobra PR-3500's and have not been disappointed at all. For the price I never expected top notch UHF performance and range, but these perform. I've only being using GMRS in high power (2watts), but there are other lower power options including using the FRS bands at .5 watts. I love the fact these radios transmit with 2 watts in GMRS!
So I'm up here in Vermont and went hiking yesterday upto a summit of 3010' from a starting point of 700' which, as the bird flys, was about 6 miles from where the other unit was located with trees as obstacles. Brought the radio just in case, but really had low expectations that I'd be able to contact my wife from up there. I pressed the call button and sure enough she responded. Having contacted her, I had the option of taking another trail down and her picking me up cutting off about 1000' from the trail down.
Bottom line, these radios performed, they have great battery life because of the power saver circuitry, they have other options to even get more range by shutting off the targeted squelch system -- aka CTCSS Privacy Codes.
