Amazingly easy to use, the Brother LX900 Cool Laminator does the work for you. Forget fumbling with those slippery sheets of laminate and trying to find the correct size pouches for your job. And stop worrying about turning the machine on early so it can warm up or that funky burning smell that comes from so many laminators. The Brother Cool Laminator can handle anything you might want laminated, be it a sign, your kid's certificate for winning the school spelling bee, a 3-by-5 photo of your Mexican vacation, or a business card.

Start by inserting the film cartridge and follow the very concise directions in the instruction manual (it's similar to inserting a toner cartridge in a printer). Then plug the AC adapter into the machine and the other end into the wall. Press On, and you're ready to go. No humming, rumbling, or burning odor. Better still, this laminator is the size, shape, and weight of a standard printer--not a heavy, cumbersome machine like those of yesteryear.

The LX900 comes preset for 0.18-inch borders, but you can choose a "no border" setting or turn the option off and cut your own borders. Like with a printer, to laminate, you simply slide the document guide to cradle your paper and press Start. Within five seconds, out comes your laminated document. And since this is a cool laminator, the paper can be handled immediately. If you want rounded corners, insert the corner of the laminated document into the corner cutter on the bottom right of the machine and hold it there for four clicks. Remove, and the sharp corner is now round and smooth.

The laminator comes with a roll of double-sided laminate. If you prefer, you can also use adhesive- or magnetic-back laminates with this machine. When your film roll gets low, a colored tape will show (it can be peeled off), and the roll will need to be replaced immediately.

This machine does exactly what I need it to do and quickly. Very easy to use. I don't think I even read the manual. The cartridges have lasted me quite a while and I use the machine fairly often. The magnetic laminate is great for printing pictures on regular paper then laminating with the magnetic stuff to stick on the fridge or hang in the office.

The only complaint I have is that finding supplies for it can be difficult.

Easy to set up, ran 100+ sheets the same day, fast to laminate. Using two pieces of paper back to back.

Only bugs are the slightly sticky finish, and the fact you lose 1" of laminate each "print".

A couple of tips, you get one more letter size laminate after the red stripe appears. Expect to have a crinkled first laminate on first use, or if the machine has been standing. Refilling cartridges do not seem to do this.

Excellent for home use!.......2003-11-09

I recently purchased this product for a number of home projects and I have been extremely satisfied. Upon receiving the LX900, it took me less than 10 minutes to unpack, set-up and begin laminating. I found the instruction manual to be clear and well written in English, not sloppily translated from Chinese. There aren't too many settings on this laminator, so even someone as inept as myself can avoid making mistakes.

Two things I absolutely love about this product. First, you can power it on and immediately begin laminating. No waiting for it to warm-up. I use this at home, so it's not powered on all day like it would be in an office. When I realize I want to laminate something I can literally have it done within 1 minute, and get back to work on my project. Second, I love the auto-cut feature. This laminator does an amazing job of auto-sensing the size of the paper, and cutting the laminate to the desired border size. No painfully sharp edges either! Note, I'm only laminating rectangular items (index cards, 8.5 x 11), so I cannot comment on how it handles irregular-shaped items (circles, children's artwork, etc...). The cuts are so good that the discarded laminate just falls off; you don't even have to pull on it! One other thing I've noticed is that since it doesn't use heat, it doesn't discolor item's that may be heat-sensitive. I use label makers that use heat-sensitive labels. Other laminators would be so hot, that it ruined the labels. Not the LX900!

All in all, I would highly recommend this laminator for any home user. The only thing I can't comment on is whether it's durable enough for an office, or for laminating odd-shaped items. However, it wouldn't surprise me if it handled those equally well.

So-so, but then..........2003-05-10

When I got this it worked OK and gave me B- type results. That's fine, because I was just using it around the house for miscellaneous stuff so I didn't need quality. Then, after only 3 months, *poof*, no power. The unit is dead. Too much hassle to go through Brother Inc. for warranty (pay S & H charges, wait 3 lifetimes to get it back refurbed, etc.).

Not for Professional Photo Qualtiy Lamination.......2003-01-05

I had to bring mine back the same day. Lamination Inkjet prints results in thousands of tiny tiny bubbles, visible only close-up, not from 3 feet away. But The image contrast is thereby ruined, and closeup viewing will reveal the horrable quality. For Inkjet Photo lamination only HOT lamination will do a perfect job, but that requires a photo quality HOT laminator.

This is Willie D Jenkins from Dawsonville Ga. I work at RadioShack, and we sell RCA tv's. They are great quality, but the closest comparable model is much more expensive. I found this little TV at Fred's discount store in Dawsonville for just (cant tell yah)! WOWEE! That makes it the lowest priced 19' tv in DIXIELAND folks. The picture is GREAT, although, you should turn the contrast down , cause it makes the cathode ray gun work overtime. ITs all tv and no cabinet. Great picture, sound and price. Love the little remote with no brand name on it. GET BATTERIES FOR THE REMOTE, AAA ALKALINE. I also like that it does not "blue screen" when it gets low signal strength. I get my tv off "ANTENNER" like a true redneck, so this is important if i want to watch alabama tv. my other tv's go blue screen, this one lets me watch static. I would recoment this excellent product to anyone, so get you a broksonic today!!! Yeeeehaw!

I bought this tv dvd player for my teenager daughter. She won't get it until Yule however, I took it out of the box to test it out. At the store when it's next to a more expensive name brand model, you can see a difference in picture quality but not a big enough difference to matter. And for the price, you can't beat the added feature of the dvd player. Its very user friendly easy to use and sounds great! I noticed it doesn't play vcd's however a lot of dvd players don't. I was just hoping it would have had the added feature. I love it so much, I want one for my exercise room and my bedroom.

We were a little skeptical of the item based on the low price and a few reviews from other owners...but it's been great so far. Take into account that this is under [price] and many other units are [price]+, so expectations were not theater quality sound, etc.

This is a great 2nd TV (with the luxury of a 2nd DVD player built right in - for about what we payed for a DVD player alone on our primary system a year or so ago).

The picture is good with brilliant colors, sound is good (on both DVD movies and TV)...and I like the remote (in spite of complaints I read from a few users). The DVD portion of the remote functionality is more intuitive and easy to handle than the DVD player on our main entertainment system.

Plus the 19" size is perfect for the bedroom (13" is too small but about what you can get in most other brands for the price) - you can actually use letterbox features on you DVD and see the movie clearly. Overall - it's a great little system so far!

I just bought the Broksonic TV/DVD combo, and so far I'm impressed. The sound/image quality is exceptional, offering high resolution output and Dolby Digital capabilities for the DVD player.

Best picture.......2003-12-22

Purchased this TV second hand. Had no real expectations. Had never heard of Broksonic. Turned out to have the clearest, sharpest, most colorful pictures of all of the TVs I have owned. Pleasant surprise!

Great so far.......2007-09-12

This phone has exactly what I needed: 2-line corded phone with speakerphone. I like the ability to mute both the speaker phone as well as the handset. The adjustable volume is also a nice feature. The price is great, too. The audio quality seems fine to me. Plenty of volume and no unusual distortion.

Espresso is not black.......2006-10-20

The add says espresso. The phone box says espresso. The phone is black. Called J&R. All phones that are marked espresso are black. I have not used the phone so I can't evaluate the quality but, for reasons on my own I needed a brown phone. J&R were fair in handling the matter. J&R said that they are changing the ad.

Good Phone.......2006-03-24

I ordered this phone because I needed a land-based phone with headset capabilities. This was the least expensive model I could find. It works well.

Solid phone for the price.......2006-03-17

This is a good basic two line phone for someone who doesn't want the LCD. I have purchased many on these for our different locations.

Sound Quality is Poor.......2005-06-09

Complaints that I am hard to hear when I am talking very loud into the handset. I can barely hear anyone on speakerphone even when the volume is on as loud as possible - Disapointing.
