Pros: excellent image "gain", extremely well built

I ordered this to accompany a new DLP projector. It is billed as a classroom screen however I installed it at home. As noted, the screen is the correct size for displaying a 16x9 image although I have also used it for 4x3 videos and it is just fine. The glass beaded fabric brings out fine detail in video images.
In use, the sheer width of the image on the screen is breathtaking. I would highly recommend a screen of this size and format for a home theatre application. This would clearly also be a fine choice for a classroom screen if you are lucky enough to be using HDTV.
The beige case is of heavy gauge steel and feels extremely solid. The unit is hung using two short metal loops at either end of the case. I used size 8 ceiling hoods and to make sure the screen was at the right height, I used about 12" of decorative chain on each end. This chain is painted black or white and has links that open and close easily with pliers. It is available at hardware stores and often used for hanging decorative light fixtures. Mounting is definitely a two-person job as the unit is long and fairly heavy. The loops on the case are 91.5" apart which may not exactly match your ceiling rafters (my hooks hooks were 96" apart, another reason the chain was necessary).
The screen pulls down very smoothly, and locks properly in place once fully extended. A black matte border surrounds the white, visible part of the screen and this helps contain the projected image in case it is slightly off centre or too large. It retracts with a slight downward pull and release back under slight tension (ie. don't let it zoom back into the case with a crash).
Once you are all set up, it's like having a 106" TV. This screen gets my highest recommendation and is far better than the old bedsheet I had hanging from the wall. Because it is ceiling mounted, it also has a more permanent, professional feel than a floor-standing model.

Worst software install ever.......2007-09-25
I tried to install this on two windows XP boxes and have to say its the worst driver install experience I've ever had on windows XP, made me feel like we were in 1995 running on a brand new win95 box when drivers didn't really work all that well.
After the install the driver wasn't even installed. I manually installed the driver and the software would start but none of the buttons were ever active, I couldn't change settings or anything, it just didn't work at all.
It never found my router, I have two of them running, a Linksys and a DLink, another DLink USB wireless adapter works fine and my laptops both work fine using their built in wireless cards.
Blue screen of death.......2007-09-15
I use Vista Home Ultimate. When I use this adapter, I randomly get a Blue Screen of Death and have to hard reboot my computer. This occurs from any USB port. Unfortunately, I didn't realize what was causing the crashes until after I'd thrown out the box/receipt, or this would have been returned to the store. I figured out what was causing the problem after I stopped using the adapter (for another reason) and then used it again a couple of months later. Within 3 hours, I'd had two crashes. It's pretty tough to get a blue screen of death on Vista, but somehow this thing manages it. It's now in the bottom of my 'useless cables and crud' box.
As far as performance goes, I play online games, primarily World of Warcraft. This adapter doesn't cut it for online gaming. For basic web surfing and maybe even streaming music, it's ok. But I would get lag while playing, especially in heavy traffic areas and that's not acceptable for me! (That's why I stopped using it for a while).
HORRIBLE!!!!.......2007-09-14
This is my second Belkin product (my first was a Belkin wireless router) and my experience with Belkin products thus far has been HORRIBLE!!
First off, this adapter is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS VISTA!! So if you have Vista, don't even THINK about it! There's not even an update on the Belkin.com website. So I gave this adapter to my roommate since her PC runs on the Windows XP OS. Everything went fine. She is not an expert at computers and she was able to install and set up the adapter without any problems.
BUT not more than a week later, she complained that the adapter wasn't working properly anymore. It would not detect any wireless networks. And being in a college community, I was CERTAIN that there were MANY networks available. (including our own private network which she was also unable to detect).
My experience with Belkin products is that if they stop working, unplug them, let them sit for a while and they should be good to go. So I unplugged the adapter, let it rest and when I plugged it back in, it worked fine again. We have to do this almost everyday for it to work and sometimes multiple times a day.
But who wants to gamble with the fact that their adapter may or may not work all the time!? NOT ME!!!! I purchased a Linksys wireless adapter and after a month of having it, I have not had ONE problem!!
Died in a couple of weeks.......2007-08-16
I got this adapter and right off the bat it barely worked. I was a mere 10-15 feet from the wireless router (a Netgear model) and this adapter would only sometimes detect a signal. I had to frequently detach and reattach the adapter to get it to reset and detect the router. (There was a floor between me and the router, and no convenient way to run an Ethernet cable, hence the wireless attempt.)
The included wireless network management utility is a joke. Unintuitive and ugly, too-small interface. Luckily you can turn it off and use the Windows zero-configuration utility instead.
After a few weeks of this extremely sad performance, the adapter stopped working entirely. Just a dead fob on the end of the USB cable.
I got a similar adapter made by D-Link and it's worked flawlessly under identical circumstances.
I recommend NOT buying this adapter. It's not worth ANY price when it just doesn't work.
Belkin lies about compatability.......2007-08-13
I have a Mac G4, and the Belkin website says that this will work to connect it to a wireless network. What they fail to mention is that only a previous version of the adapter will work on a Mac, because they don't write their own drivers. The tech support for this was rude and not very helpful. I returned the product, and I am preferring copying files to a thumb drive, and physically transferring it to a computer with internet, to dealing with Belkin again.

Started to feel pain in my wrists after weeks of prolonged computer usage (I was typing directly on my laptop keyboard and it wasn't a natural posture at all). This + and external keyboard did the trick. Just the right amound of give and resistance. Smelled bad for about the first week (chemicals) but then it wore off.
Awkward shape, avoid it. .......2007-01-12
The shape conforms perfectly to the designer's hands, but unless you share the same DNA, I'd avoid this product. I've used many of these over the years and this is the only one I struggled with. Constantly shifting it to get it's high and low points in a place that was tolerable. I finally reversed it, pointing it towards me and it worked a little better. This just needs to be a simple pad. Instead, they've overdesigned it as a gimmick.

I ordered this product and never recieved it. THEN, when I called to find out what happened I was given the runaround and I had to call at LEAST 15 time-no exaaggeration. Office Depot told me to call Amazon told me to call Ups told me to call Office Depot and so on.
I STILL never recieved my order and I at least got my money back after over a month of bull.

Upon purchasing a new smoked glass desk, I wanted a wrist pad that would be comfortable and stylish. The satiny finish of this product is smooth to the touch and adds a little shimmer to my work space; as well, it is very comfortable.
Getting my Ergonomics on Keyboard Style.......2007-08-18
I ordered this product after experiencing wrist pain from using the computer at work. Being a geek, I am in front of the computer at home too and wanted something to prevent pain from occurring at home too. This is a great product that is very comfortable. It is very stable on the desktop (no sliding around) and has very soft and comfortable gel.
A few notes on things I noticed on previous reviews:
- The wrist rest does have an odor to it right out of the box, but in my case I had to put my nose next to the wrist rest to smell it. Also, it has never made my wriste smell from using it.
- The wrist rest is asymmetrical. This has never been a problem for me, and my wrists do not sit unevenly.
So, in a nutshell this product serves its function very well; I recommend it to all.

Make sure you pay attention to the fact that this is shaped asymmetrically. I have used it for over a week but cannot get comfortable because my wrists don't rest evenly, so I'm buying the straight 3M rest now.

I like this phone a lot. I use it for my business.I use a headset, so there is a jack on both the base and cordless unit. The only thing I DON'T like is the manual doesn't exlain things clearly and getting a tech support person is impossible. Its ALL menu's, NO option for a LIVE person, so if you buy this phone and neec tech support or even to help set it up as I had to, click option 1 then option 2 (to purchase a phone) and ask for a tech support person, you are connected right away.

- I woke up one morning to find my two cordless units with message "Searching for Base"
- On the base unit, I hit the DEREGISTER ALL option
- The display unit of the answering base shows the following message:

All keys are totally dysfunctional. I tried plugging into a different location after 5 minute gaps and all other options.
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSE:
They asked me to try plugging the answering machine base into other locations around the house after removing batteries from the cordless units.
Unfortunately I barely ran out of warranty to take advantage of the warranty replacement process.
Please advise if there is a fix for this.
I obviously misspent $199 + $75 for the second cordless unit.

I actually find the sound quality and range pretty good, but I think the system is designed poorly. I can't tell you how many times I have been on the phone and wanted to scroll through my caller ID to get a number for someone I was talking to. No dice, it won't do that. There are a number of issues like that. I can't program it to prefer line 2 to make calls. You may think this is a not a big deal, except I don't like to reveal the line 1 number to my clients via there caller ID. So there went my private line.
Also the belt clip is worthless and after what seemed like hours on the customer support line they want to charge me $5.00 to replace it even though the phone is still under warranty. I'll try a different brand next time.

Sound quality is poor more than about 20' away. I had to the move the base to the center of the house (rather than the kitchen where we wanted it) to get it to work at all. I had to return a unit. Now I'm stuck with it sort of working but with clicky-popy sound. Don't buy this system.

For the price I paid ($145) this phone has a looot of shortcomings. For e.g., if you pick up the receiver, there's no way to press the redial option. The redial option is only available on the screen when the phone is on the hook. Secondly, if line 2 rings and you pick the phone up, it goes into line 1. Instead of line 2 (duh..)
The cordless has a very short battery life has to be constantly recharged!!
Also, if you have a power cut, both phones don't work. I bought this one thinking at least the corded phone would work (GE has a model like that) but unfortunately, I was mistaken.
It's a good phone all-in-all, and serves the purpose of a 2-line corded + cordless set, but it's overpriced. Next time I'm sticking with GE!
