I'm writing because my experience is completely different from the other two reviews. We have had this phone for a few years now with no problems at all. I really like it. I wanted a dual phone so the corded one would work in the event of a power outage. Cordless phone works even outside in front of my house. I'm viewing this item because I'm ordering another one. My husband dropped the cordless phone into the bathtub and now it doesn't work. Hope my replacement item works like my old one did, and not the ones the reviewers here have had. I'll write an update review if it doesn't.

I bought 1 set and it worked well for weeks. So, unfortunately, I bought another set for my mom. About a year later, my cordless failed (no dial tone, but all other functions work). A few weeks later, my mom's set failed the same way! Really disappointing from a giant brand name...

Quality not Quanity.......2003-04-24

I title this review tongue in cheek. I agree that not much can be done with 8mb's these days, UNLESS one has a piece of equipment that can only accomodate an 8mb card. And yes I have such a piece of equipment. When I purchased my digital camera, 8mb was it...a year later Olympus offered to upgrade my camera's hardware to accomodate a 16mb card but at a substantial price that I am not willing to pay. I bought my camera because of the glass optics. It once was top of the line and it still continues to take good pictures. So for me finding an 8mb card is worth 5 stars. If I had a brand new MP3 player then I would not even consider an 8mb card. But I don't so I did...

Fine for sub-megapixel digital cameras.......2000-09-18

As the previous reviewer noted, 8 meg isn't enough to be useful in an MP3 player. However, the format was designed to be used WITH DIGITAL CAMERAS, not with MP3 players. On my 1.3 megapixel digital camera, an 8 mb card holds around 25 pictures -- just like a roll of film. If you have an older digital camera (Phillips ESP80, Ricoh RDC-4300, Fuji DX-7, and a bunch of others), 8 MB is the biggest card you can use (the cameras won't recognize bigger cards), so this card is an appropriate choice. If your camera's at least 2 years old, check your manual to see the biggest card you can use. If you have a newer camera, however, the $$ per meg is much more attractive with a 16 or 32 meg card.
