With its stylish curved aluminum extruded case, available in either black or white finish, the Contour is a handsome addition to any installation. Seven veneer finishes for the front cover of the screen case create a warm and elegant look or choose the optional speaker system, unique to the Contour, that flank the ends of the case. Choose from tensioned or non-tensioned models that retract completely into case for a clean, modern appearance when screen is not in use. Not worth the money.......2006-06-12

I bought this one after buying my wife the 512MB version. Both of ours started having problems. We've reformatted them twice already and mine has started shutting off whenever I try to record from FM. They are terrible ar killing batteries. A brand new Duracell will only last a week with listening for 2-3 hours a day and it drains the battery in 2 weeks even when it has been turned off and inactive. I use mine mainly now as a portable storage device to keep computer files on it, an expensive price to pay for a flash drive.

minor problems but great player.......2006-04-26

its interesting to me to read all these negative review.
i bought this to use in the mountains. at the time, no one else seemed to make a very small 1gb player that runs on AAA batteries. (the ipod is nice but how can you charge the thing on a one month climbing trip?) I took the micro muvo to Denali on two trips. it performed perfectly at up to 17000ft and in sub zero temps. (although i kept it in my chest pocket when using it so it was warm) when i returned i took it on multiple climbing/camping trips. no problems. i then ran it through a full wash, rinse and dryer cycle (by accident) it still works fine. i now am having some mild problems with some of the songs on it skipping, which i assume is due to the washer. i havent reburned them onto the unit yet but i assume this will fix the problem. also now after almost 3 years of pretty heavy abuse i cant seem to get it to switch to the radio. all in all i got my moneys worth out of it and am considering buying another mp3 player now that it is having problems. i may decide to buy a different one due to the software difficulties of this one.
the software interface is annoying and makes it difficult to organize songs and doesnt seem to rip the title/artist info off the disc so you have to name each track manually. but im not the best person at figuring out software glitches so maybe im missing something.

Shuts-down Unexpectedly.......2006-03-25

I loved this thing when I first got it, but after about a week, it started shutting-off in the middle of songs. I returned it for a new one, but that one had the same problem. If you search around, you'll find people saying that upgrading the software fixes this. Don't believe it - I applied the latest firmware and mass storage drivers, but the problem persists and the player is unusable. Creative support has been responsive, but won't acknowledge the problem. I got so frustrated, I established a buyer beware page dedicated to this device at mikehicks.googlepages.com. My advice: save your money and get an iPod Nano or something similar instead.

i bought this item and after exactly 3 days it started shutting down in the middle of songs, dont buy this item unless u wanna feel really disappointed, its completely new and dont work, i wasted my money, and to return it u have to call the store to get a return authorization number to be able to send it back to them until they review its status, WHATS THAT?!!!! anyway, avoid this item even with all the good reviews, its a trick from the store, maybe the ones who wrote are people working there or something, keep your money in your pocket, its made in china too, so expect.

Finally, after the craze of these little gadgets, I did my own research and stumbled onto the muvo micro n200. I got a good deal on creative's direct website for a cheaper price than what's offered at amazon and have been satisfied thus far. In reviewing some of these online reviews, my muvo does not experience any noises when fiddling with the menu. I'm loving it so far!
