Nice monitor need replacing every two years.......2007-07-06

I had a 22 inch cinema display. After a year and a half it would not start and gave me an intermittent black screen when I started up my G5. I decided to get a newer 23 inch display thinking nothing of it. After another year and a half, the same problem happened. I must say that this is an overpriced piece of hardware and I will never buy another one again. I have a viewsonic monitor that cost me almost nothing in comparison to the cinema display and it is still going strong after 3 years.
I would advise do not get one unless you don't mind wasting money, or want to use it as a TV tray when it breaks down, which is usually after the warranty.

First versions had some burn in issues. Seems to have been resolved. Great monitors.

Incredibly bright displays.......2006-12-21

I'm running two of these beautifully designed displays and must agree with others, these things are bright. I usually run these with the brightness turned up no higher than 50%. Although I admit that I do not do any print related work, these displays are exceptional for web design work.

It went dark after 6 months.......2006-10-12

I bought this monitor in April, 2006. For six months it was great. Then it stopped working. It's under warranty, so I am hoping to get it fixed at Apple's expense.

But I ask you, what kind of quality control does Apple use? And what can I expect after the warranty runs out next April?

I am deeply disappointed. I have been using Apple computers for 22 years. This was the first time I bought an Apple monitor. It is also the last time.

Oh sooooo bright!.......2006-10-03

Super clean, slick design, sharp....AND BRIGHT. After a few days of solid use I noticed my eyes started to hurt. I had a burning sensation in them as I went to bed. It almost felt as though I was out in the sun all day. Finally I realized that the screen was just too bright and it was hurting my eyes. I actually had to turn down the brightness level down a few notches and now I'm in great shape! It's a great quality purchase that I would highly recommend.... But don't look at it too long at 100% brightness or you might get your eyes burned, or you may get sunburned. :)

the worst device i've ever seen........2007-04-03

if you can make it work or if you are lucky to get a non defective unit:

it can only read 1 card at a time
needs specific usb power requirements (needs the usb power be +5v and not +5vsb) else you will get "USB hub power exceeded errors" the worst part is that the mainboard i tested is +5v... and still didn't work
the cards inserted on the lower card slots have to be inserted upside down
from time to time you can get the message usb device not recognized...

contacted support... service there = average/not so good (support forum has several topics complaining about this product)

couldn't get a replacement since 30 days tigerdirect warranty have expired, can't send the unit to ultra because currently I'm outside the US and as i stated customer service is not good.

bottom line

don't buy this item

I have notice that the sound volume is lower when it goes thru the device. But my speakers are plugged directly on my motherboard and I have a headphone jack on my speakers. Other than that it's perfect.

Waiting for my phones, have 2 observations: A. Amazon.com was BY FAR the least expensive, easiest to work with on the net, other's prices don't come near. B. After sweating this decision, and researching for a week, I discovered on the brother home site, that more than 2 wirless units need an extra "black box" to work 3 or more phones/lines at the same time. I spent the extra $130, just wish I'd known when I made the first order.

I'm not sure what was wrong with the other reviewer's phones, but my first test of this system at home went quite well. I walked out of my house and to the side walk and still got good reception.

Poor sound and range outweigh the useful features........2000-11-12

The features looked to be a great match but the audio quality was a complete letdown. There was a constant hiss transmitted to the other party unless I held the mute button. The phone would drop the connections or fail to answer when I walked more than two rooms away.

I worked with the Brother help-line but none of their suggestions were successful.

I returned the unit and bought a Uniden 2-line DSS.

Very good except the range is terrible.......2000-09-29

This phone is almost perfect. It has all the features you might want, is easy to use, priced reasonably.

Unfortunantly, it has the smallest range of any cordless phone I've ever tried. Even 15 feet from the base station my reception isn't perfect. At 75 feet it is unusable.

Two caveats: I haven't checked the manual to see if there is a magic incantation that's required to get it to work properly. I have only played with two base stations and three handsets so I may have just had bad luck.
