Horrible ribbons!.......2006-12-29

And to think they are originally from the manufacturer of the product, the Dymo brand.

These ribbons are so bad, it is sheer luck if they work correctly. Should they work, they pull the ink ribbon along when they print, they have no middle-cut peel outs for ease of use, and they usually don't work. Something happens that the printing roll is badly coiled and when you insert it, it won't advance.

One of the ribbons I actually had to break in order to make it work and about 30% of the printing roll was wasted, because the ink ribbon ran out due to the modification I had to make to see it work.

I don't recommend you buy these, not to mention the fact that they are so expensive. Buy a generic brand instead. It will be cheaper and do honor to its price.

The Casio KL-100 is an economical, compact label printer that fits easily in one hand as you stand and work. Although it's designed for right-handed folks, lefties will have little trouble with it. With six type sizes, three effects (shading, underline, and box), and four styles (normal, outline, shadow, and raised), you can make your labels as unique as the object they're marking. The printer has both English and Spanish language characters, but only one font built in. With fun options like ornamental frames and symbols, even the kids can join in on the fun.

The label maker can accommodate four tape sizes ranging from 0.25 to 0.75 inches. We found that the labels held up under both hot and cold temperatures (microwave or freezer) and were water resistant as well. Label at the office, in your kitchen, in the garden, in the tool shed, in the attic, or in the kids' rooms. From Tupperware and toys to storage boxes and light switches, the XL-100 is the ideal tool. I have owned this little gem for about two years. I used it to label computer network peripherals, however, I found lots of other uses for it at home. I carrie it back and forth between work and home until I decided to purchase a second unit. The KL-100 is extremely easy to use and is very durable. My only complaint is the relatively high cost of the tapes that are available.

Handy little label printer.......2002-11-29

This thing comes in handy, and has saved me plenty of aggravation. Granted, having a label printer is somewhat of a luxury, but I find it very useful.

How many times have you needed to reinstall an OS, but forgot where the manual was with that damn key? Or if you are like me, the CDROM and CD case invariably gets separated at some point-especially with games that require the CDROM to play.

I always loose CD software key codes. I also tend to loose CD cases with the key stickers. Or worse, I've purchased and downloaded software, only to see my hard drive crash months later. Have you ever tried to contact a company like Intuit to get a copy of software that you purchased a year ago and get a key? It is a lesson in futility and frustration.

I'm much more organized now. I now burn a CD-R with downloaded software and label it with the unlock code, then store it elsewhere. I print a label with the CD key on original CDROMs, throwing away the case, and placing it with all my other CDs in an organizer binder. I also throw away the cardboard boxes that contain the games (or applications). My work area isn't so cluttered anymore.

Also great for legibly labeling file manila file folders.

Stock up on AA batteries, it uses six.

At first I bought this product to help me keep orginized at school. It was the cheepest one I could find, and took almost all forms of refills. What strted out as a school product, soon became one of extreme fun. It is great for making signs and than sticking them on peoples backs. VERY FUN, A VERY VERY VERY GREAT DEAL!!!!!!!

Good for what it does.......2007-09-03

All I wanted was simple labels for dvd's/cd's I burn. Nothing fancy, just something legible (the sharpie wasn't working to well with my handwriting). This thing hasn't let me down yet, no torn ribbons or anything like that, have done about 100 dvd's with it now.

It's simple, it's quick, it does what it's supposed to do effectively.

For what it is, it does it good........2007-08-21

I am a professional photographer and I use this to print labels on photo CDs and DVDs. It works really, really well. I have printed over 1000 labels with this printer and I have never had a torn ribbon, nor have I had any other problems. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that I feel the ribbon could last longer and the print speed is slow. However, considering the multi-CD thermal printers cost thousands of dollars, this is the way to go if you only have a few CDs to print at a time.

If you want your CDs or DVDs to have a professional look and feel to them, this printer does a perfect job. Just make sure you use "thermal printable" CD/DVD media.
