Three letters - W.O.W. - end of story........2004-01-31
Traditionally, TFT monitors have looked amazing when doing normal desktop tasks, but really let themselves down when it comes to anything exciting, like DVD playback or fast-paced 3D gaming. The major problem has always been 'ghosting' -- the effect where anything moving leaves a visible trail behind itself. This is due to the slow response time of the LCD pixels; they simply couldn't switch colors fast enough.
Hercules claim to have fixed this with their 20ms response TFT screen and proclaim it to be the saviour of gamers and movie-watchers alike. Well, having had this monitor for few days now and really put it through its paces, I can proclaim that all their hype is true!
UT2K3 plays awesomely on this screen - every pixel is displayed flawlessly and there isn't a hint of ghosting, even when spinning round to take out someone behind you. Perfect.
Need For Speed Underground is a real blast - the roads streak past at the speed of sound, but don't leave any trails. Flawless.
DVD playback is equally impressive - rich, lush colors and superb contrast make viewing movies a pleasure, unless the monitor is above your eye level, when the display fades quite drastically.
Add to this the fact that it sexes up your desktop like you wouldn't believe and you've got an amazing package. OK - you don't get built-in speakers (who needs them nowadays anyway?) or a USB hub (get one for $20!!), but who expects extras when you're getting such a quality product.
Hats off, Hercules - you've done it again!!!
Herucles PropehtView 920 Pro DVi.......2004-01-12
LOOKS.
At a Lan looks can be a nice factor to have. Fortunaly the Herucles has plenty of it. It has a sleek black/silver metal look to it. Infact the whole back is metal and the stand is metal. However the front plate is plastic, along with the buttons. This definatly will steel the show at LAN's! (get it steel heh!) The hitachi looks plane jane and nothing special. Not really much to say about it.
Now to what we have all been waiting for!
20ms vs 16ms
Most manufacutrers would like you to belive that 16ms is faster, and it is, but they do not test equally. And AUOptronics dose admit that thier product dose not display all the colors correctly, and is not a ture 16ms panel.
For the Test i useed my two computers below both have a form of Radeon 9800 Pro, both monitors were connected via DVI and both used cat 3.10 with 2xAA and 8xAF enabled.
The Game: Unreal Tournament 2003
I have to say, the Hitachi was a joke, it had more ghosting than the Hercules. But what made it worse was in dark areas the Hitachi's colors would get worse, in very dark situations you cannot see at all.
The Hercules monitor had very birght colors, and i noticed little motion blur, though there was still some.
Both monitors did not handle dark areas as well as a CRT, however the herucles handled the areas ALOT better than the hitachi.
I have to conclude that hands down the Herucles PropehtView 920 Pro DVi is the best Gameing LCD out there, it has style and preformance, however it dose cost a great deal more than the AUOptronic panels witch are acceptable for gameing.

100% sensitivity.......2007-03-07
The previously mentioned over sensitivity of this product is actually being underestimated. In both the cases of the pedals, and the steering wheel, it is calibrated in the sense of there being a small null zone, then 100% sensitivity. Meaning it is literally impossible to have the steering/brake/throttle anywhere between 100%-0%, its a "snap to full" calibration if you will. DO NOT BUY

I got the V3fx (N64 version with vibration) wheel years ago, and it is a pretty good wheel. It is constructed very well, you can program the pedals to be digital (A and B or any other combination you like) or analog (up and down on the joystick or any other joystick combination), and the vibrator is strong and can be shut off. The wheel does not have the miscalibration problems most 3rd party controllers have (except in a few games, such as "Cruisin' USA" and some others).
One of the V3's best features is its adjustability. Simply slide the 2 position locks, and raise, lower, or change the angle of the wheel, lhen slide the 2 locks back in.
Good, But Not The Best........2005-12-22
I just got this wheel, and boy, it works great. i use it on my PS1, and its great! the only thing that bugs me is that on some of the games its pretty hard to control-its really sensitive. its also pretty squeaky, but for 20 dollars, this is worth it.
To get this thing working in XP.......2005-04-25
The pedal was designed by an idiot but to get this thing working in XP:
1. CLick Start - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL.
2. In the Control Panel, double click on the "Game Controllers"
3. Once in the Game Controller Window, first make sure that the
Controller/Status box is empty. **(If it is not empty, click the "REMOVE"
button to clear all its contents)**
4. Click "ADD" and select "2-Axis 4-Button" and then click "OK"
5. Once the status on the controller reads "OK", click on the "PROPERTIES"
button.
6. Select the "SETTINGS" Tab and then click the "CALIBRATE" button.
7. Follow the on screen instructions to calibrate your joystick.
8. Now, click the "TEST" tab.
9. On the Test Screen you can check to make sure that your controller is
functioning properly.
10. Now click the "APPLY" button to save your changes and then click "OK" to
exit.
You have officially configured your V3 SV-280 Steering Wheel for use in
Windows XP!

Not For HP Computers.......2000-06-12
If you happen to have an HP computer don't bother with the V3 or the V4 for that matter. I wasted hours trying to get the wheel to work and finally called Interact customer service. Interact informed me that the V3 and V4 are not compatible with Riptide sound cards/game ports. They don't include this information in any of their documentation or on their website. I had to finally call (long distance) to find out. Interact's solution for me word for word: "Get a new sound card." My whole computer is nearly brand new. I guess I should just go buy some older hardware so I can be Interact compatible. What a frustrating ordeal.

The V3 racing wheel is a good value. The disk that comes with it say Windows 95 but it DOES work in 98. Click "Add/Remove Hardware"icon (in Control Panel)and let the Wizard from 98 install it. It will say when installation is complete. You can check this by clicking on "Game Controllers" icon and you will see that it is connected and working properly. A newer 98 driver disk from the company would have been nice...

Bad steering wheel!.......2002-08-11
Never worked correctly right out of the box. The accelerator pedal has intermittent problem and will "stick" in full throttle. I had to rip the pedal assembly apart and resolder the connector pins to get it to work right. The R1 and R2 buttons on the wheel will activate at random sometimes which is very annoying. There is no neutral wheel setting, so cars in GT3 always drift - extremely annoying. Overall, a poorly designed and badly assembled set up.
This is a Horrible Racing Wheel - Don't buy it........2001-12-19
I made the mistake of purchasing this racing wheel as a Christmas gift for my son before doing any research. I went to the store and it was on sale so I bought one. After reading a few reviews I decided I had better stay up late one night and give it a try. My test was with NASCAR 2001. Not only is the center detent annoying, it makes it next to impossible to manuver the car. I was able to drive the road courses much easier and better using my analog dual shock controller! The problems that several people reported where buttons appear to get hit randomly are completely TRUE. This was not only an intermittent problem, it happened on almost every menu that came up in the short 1/2 hour I tested it. The only good thing about this wheel was that I bought it from a store that was close by and they took the return without question. After doing some research I purchased the slightly more expensive MC2 Racing Wheel which I am very happy with and expect that my son will love.
Impressed but Disappointed.......2001-05-22
I purchased this one at a local store because it was the only one they carried. I liked the fact that you can adjust the tilt and that it is telescopic to bring the wheel closer to you if need be. I plugged the wheel in and walked back to the couch to sit down. It does have a long cord on it. The only issue I experienced was that during the game(Grand Tourismo II) I noticed that it would randomly activate a button. I reset the controller to default and I left it on the Options screen. Within a minute or so it activated one of the menu options and no one was touching the unit. I plan to swap it for the Mad Catz 2 and try it.
V3 strikes gold.......2000-12-16
This racing wheel was the first for playstation. It is analog and has a 300 hundred degree steering wheel rotation and that is more then any of the new racing wheels. The steering wheel can be positioned high and low so it is suitable for all heights. Also, it will easily mount under your legs or on a table top. This awesome wheel has an adjustable steering response system so you can set it so if you turn your steering wheel slightly, your car will turn a lot. Or, vice versa. A few things I really like about this wheel are that the cable that connects to your playstation is very long. It feels just like cruisin in my Beamer (BMW). One more important thing is this steering wheel is endorsed by Dale Earndhardt Jr. He is one of the greatest racing drivers in the world. If, you get a chance, buy this racing wheel.
