This card was not manufactured after June 2004 and has such a high failure rate (four out of five in my case) that it is being replaced free of charge by HP up to two years after the expiration of the one year warranty.

Connect your printers to a Fast Ethernet network with the HP JetDirect 300X external print server. The 300X is a 10/100Base-TX external print server providing easy migration from 10Base-T to 100Base-TX networks. WARNING - Buggy firmware and horrible tech support from HP........2004-02-03
I bought this print server several years ago to use at work with an HP G85 all-in-one. We wanted to be able to print/scan/fax over network from several computers.
At first, we were able to print and scan over network, but any attempts at network faxing failed with a device communication error. Test faxes spooled ok, but there seemed to be some kind of communication problem with the fax hardware, and the documents got queued. The HP Director software waited on timeouts when I tried to apply changes to fax settings also.
I looked all over the HP tech support forums, Deja-News, and several mailing-lists, and found that other people had the same problems, but nobody had any solutions. HP tech support sent many people on wild goose chases trying to resolve the problem.
Finally, I tracked the problem down to an SNMP timeout that took place whenever there was an attempt to fax over network. This was a bug that showed up if you changed the default community string from "Public" to some other value.
Since we are on a University network and exposed to hackers, we didn't want to leave this "password" set to the default value. I finally had to change this setting back to the well known default value to make things work.
It took several weeks to solve this problem. After I got everything working, I posted the solution to the HP tech support forums so that others wouldn't have to waste their time and money like I did.
When I logged back on to the forums to check if the solution worked for other people, I was shocked and disappointed to find that the HP moderators had censored my posts by deleting them. I found out later that HP has a reputation for doing things like this when the situation reflects badly on them.
HP hardware may be good, but it's of no use if their software doesn't work. I'll NEVER NEVER NEVER buy HP again unless I have abolutely no other option.

The HP Jetdirect 175x is an external print server which allows you to turn your printer into a network device. It connects to supported printers via a USB port, in turn allowing you to connect a 10Base-T or 100Base-T network connection to the 175x print server. Additionally, the 175x has an embedded web-server which allows remote management via a web browser.
Setup is a snap, thanks to HP's Install Network Printer Wizard; and system administrators can use HP's Web Jetadmin to directly install, configure, and manage the print server. A wide range of networking protocols are supported, including peer-to-peer and client/server under TCP/IP, peer-to-peer under IPX/SPX, Apple EtherTalk, and LPD printing.
With the 175x, only the computer originating the print job needs to be turned on, so you can print from anywhere at anytime. The unit weighs just 3.9 ounces and also comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.

I bought this [thing] at [a local retailer] for my art studio. I just wanted something cheap and simple. Little did I know that it would sound this good. Believe me, I'm a nut when it comes to having all the surround speakers, a powerfull receiver, etc. So I mean it when I say the sound is amazing with this unit. I thought the "surround mode" was a gimmick. I was wrong. The Philips sounds better than some of the nicer stereos I've owned. Ain't that a kick?
Excellent Product, Especially for the price.......2002-03-24
I've always felt Philips electronics are head and shoulders above the rest. I have a good stereo setup, components, but as an extra (or even as your main system if you don't have another setup), you can't imagine how fabulous the sound is that emanates from the AZ1560. I was blown away when I heard it at my brother's, who's a real music / equipment buff and only uses the best. I could swear it was coming from his regular stereo system. I believe the AZ1560 has recently been discontinued, but was able to get one of the last three units they had. I'm sure some of Philip's other boom boxes sound great, too, and I wouldn't hestitate to buy any Philips product. But, if you can get your hands on this model, it's the very best sound I've heard from a boom box and I've owned four. Packs an incredible punch for the buck!

I listened to a dozen boomboxes and couldn't purchase one because I didn't like the sound. Then I heard this one and bought it within 5 minutes. The sound is clearly better than others in this price range. It is also easy to use. It would be nice to have a power button on the remote, but if I wanted another, I would buy this same model.
