This cartridge is ok as long as nothing you print with it ever comes into contact with water or moisture. I have a 385 Photo printer and even after the photos are long dried, the slightest moisture or water ruins the picture instantly. Not good HP. Time to re-engineer this cartridge with smudge/water-proof ink like others have done.

I have an HP Photo Deskjet which uses this cartridge. It is fast, prints nice photos as well as cards, banners, etc., and lasts longer than other cartridges I have used with other printers.

Very good copier at a very good price........2001-09-19
I bought the HP-290 about 3 months ago and since then have used just about all its features. This is a very good copier, expecially considering the price. The copy quality is top drawer. On more than one occasion, after making a copy and returning to my desk, I have been perplexed as to which was the original and which the copy. Even multi-color, multi-shade originals are copied with impressive fidelity. The machine is small and compact and the footprint does not demand much space. Setting it up is a breeze and the controls are all on the front panel, ready to hand and quite intuitive. Bear in mind though that this is a SOHO machine: if you regularly need to run large copy sets, as in a regular large office, the speed will frustrate you. As long as your copy needs are not too heavy, the HP-290 is terrific. I have only one quibble really and that is the document feeder. Somehow the engineering design at HP goofed this one. The unbalanced way that the original is positioned in the document feeder means that you frequently need to tap the edge of the sheet so the rollers can grab it. This can get annoying and that is why I deducted one star. I also think Amazon needs to tie up with HP to offer a servicing package at point of sale. I had to buy the machine of the Amazon site and then go to HP for a servicing package - since it is off the HP website, surely Amazon can offer it.
Great Copier.......2000-09-26
I first purchased the HP 190 which is the same as the 290 except the 290 has a document feeder. I got it home and found that for some reason the copies from the 190 were not even. Meaning that for some reason the copy was not centered it was skewed from left to right. I went to the HP website and found some probable causes but nothing worked. I went to the store where I purchased it from and then to another and all of the display copiers did the exact same thing. Why? no one knows. I then tried the 290 and besides being impressed with the document feeder, everything was centered correctly. All of the features work great, the photo mode makes the copies look almost as good as the original, the best that I have seen. Black text is very sharp and quick. The clone mode allows you to put one picture on the copier and it will clone that picture and make as many copies that can fit on the paper, very cool. This copier is outstanding, colors are crisp, photo's are great and the document feeder works great. If I were to rate the 190 I would say that the quality is great but who wants skewed copies (I am not positive that all of them do this) I would rate it 1 star. However the 290 does everything great and deserves 5 stars. (quick note, if the 190 did not skew the picture it would recieve 4 1/2 stars.

Still kickin' after all these years..........2006-08-13
This is a comment from mid-2006, so understand that the four stars are kinda relative: I'm saying this can be a good PC for the kind of user who wants to run serious office-type software, get on the Internet and maybe do a bit of amateur photo editing on the side. I'm not recommending a 5 year old machine for state-of-the-art gaming or for pro level graphics and photo manipulation! (This should be obvious, but I thought I'd better say it anyway.)
My review is based on a Presario 5000 with a 933 MHz Pentium III, 256K L2 cache. Be aware that there are many models in the 5000 series and a lot of them are much lower powered. The Athlon and PIII models are the best, though, and came in the highest speeds.
My example came from a thrift store, in like new condition and with exactly its original equipment; it was priced a bit high at 80 bucks in August of '06... but I think it was worth that and more.
Running Windows 2000 Professional SP4 (instead of the unloved Windows ME system it came with), this is a fast Presario on MS Office, Quicken, etc., even with the marginal 128 Mb of PC100 3.3 volt RAM it originally had. But since "obsolete" PC100 memory can be had now for next to nothing, I recommend stuffing the machine with two sticks of 256 Mb: That will give it a total of 512 Mb - the max my example will accept - and with it I have run even Photoshop quite successfully.
All in all, a lot of bang for the buck, and pretty respectable performance for most of us who just want to surf the 'net and occasionally run something from Office. Of course, I'd prefer that $10,000, build-it-yourself gaming computer they just wrote up in
Maximum PC... Sigh.
Compaq Presario 5012US.......2004-04-13
Aside from the fact that it's difficult to find a way to remove the drives - no screws that I've found, I got a run around when trying to obtain tech support. It seems that a common problem is with the CD drive door eventually opening and closing non-stop without being able to read a disk. Compaq wouldn't even send me a restore disk that wasn't included when I bought my computer new. Of course, they would let me buy one which I didn't. My extended warranty is basically worthless, and all Compaq and HP did was try to get me to pay even more money for additional phone support. It looks like I'll have to pay for a new CD drive myself or fix it. I'd never buy another Compaq or HP product. To me, service and reliability go hand in hand.

I bought this computer not so long ago, and I can say only one thing about it - it's AMAZING!!! I paid $2,999 and I don't regret it. It's the best computer I have ever had, which never gave me any kind of problems. I can do word processing, programming, graphics and surf the Net, all at the same time, and it will never freeze or slow down. As a computer programmer, I can say that it has a wonderful internal structure and integrity. When you work you can hardly hear any fan noise, it boots up, shuts down and hybernates really fast saving all your important settings and work for the next session. It contains marvelous internal parts from the leading most trusted hardware companies. It also comes with awesome software titles. Compaq and HP have done a tremendous job on building this great "baby." I would recommend this computer to everyone!
Junkiest computer I have used.......2002-09-01
I bought this computer in March. It is the worst computer that I have had. The CD- Writer, only works half the time. I have the 40 gb hard drive and every time you go over 10 gb, you have to restore the computer. The CD-ROM drive does not close anymore, you have to push it in. There is a short on the left speaker, it does not work anymore. The computer has many lock-ups and freezes. Some times windows does not even start-up. I would recommend Gateway or Dell, they have a lot more opitions, and better value than compaq

Definately durable.......2006-05-30
I recieved a MuVo a couple years ago and it's still with me despite dropping it frequently on hard floors and nearly flushing it down a toilet (don't ask). The only thing that has happened is that the battery cover has broken from dropping it.
My only qualms with it are that it's not compatible with iTunes, and the battery life is not very good, though it only takes one AAA. Music fans shouldn't rely on this player, buy a hard drive mp3 player with a large lcd if you plan on exceeding 25 songs, because scrolling through each song instead of having a list is an annoyance.
But, if your only looking for a small durable companion this is a
good buy
Defective or just 2X bad luck?.......2006-02-25
I love this mp3 player-- it fits everywhere, has a long battery life, reasonable quality audio for recording, efficient with space, very user-friendly, etc.
My only problem with this player is that I have had two defective ones. The first player brought me joy and happiness until 2 weeks of living with me, when it would shut off every time it was ready to advance to the next song. That's fine. So I got a replacement.
This current one was fine for 10 weeks until it would shut off even before I could fully power it on. This only happens 75% of the time, but that is definitely inconvenient, since I don't know how to prevent the incidences.
Aside from my negative experiences, its wonderful versatility is suitable for most activities... providing it works.
The problems I'm having are seemingly unrelated, and since I've followed the manual for usage since day-1, I doubt its my fault.
Great LIttle MP3.......2006-02-11
For the price, this small MP3 player delivers on quality. It was a gift for my technology-challenged teen who needed the recording capability of this player. It makes a decent recording but actually is being used more as the MP3 player. It's very small, easy to use and we have been very impressed overall with this great little player.
Great little MP3 player, but lacks a random button.......2005-12-16
I own the white micro, and it works great. I am relatively abuseive to my electronics, dropping them, pilling stuff on top of them. and the Micro has responded well. It comes with a rubber cover which helps protect it (and yes, it does bounce). The earbuds it came with were great. The menu is easy to figure out, and while the FM signal strength leave something to be desired, it only like 2 inches long, so thats kind of expected...
My biggest complaints (and really, what else is to complain about with this player) is that you can't set a playlist or random play (without a big hassel). It sets its own playlist: alphabetically. If you rearrange your mp3s by artist first, it will play them grouped together. If you want to set a playlist, Creative Labs told me that I needed to go and physically alter the file name of the song, putting something before the artist or title, whichever comes first in your setup. Thats fine if you only want to set one playlist forever and never change the songs, but if you want to be able to add and delete new songs, thats not a reasonable option.
There is a new MuVo MIX available from creative labs that takes care of the lack of a random button. I haven't tried it yet, but if they kept the rest of the features of this great player, they've taken care of its most glaring flaw!
Creative Muvo Micro - Feature Packed, Good Value MP3 player.......2005-11-08
The Creative Muvo Micro N200 MP3 player may not be found in the market, as it has been 'replaced' by a 'new' model called the Zen Nano Plus, which seems to be the same model with a new name. I think that this review can apply to new player as well.
As regards the player:
The Creative Muvo Micro is a flash based MP3 player, not hard-disk based, unlike the Apple iPod. Let's see it according to various parameters:
1. Style:
Well, the MP3 players from creative have been stylish, and this one is no exception. It is almost the size of a cigarette lighter, and only slightly larger than a matchbox. While this may seem de riguer for all flash based players these days, not all of them can truly claim to be this small in reality. The Micro is basically a rectangular/cuboidal shape with soft edges and a small display (which is not colored, but suits a player of this size). Of course, some MP3 players like Sandisk's Flash range offer a bigger display, but are also bigger in size overall.
2. Build:
This is one area where I feel the player could have done a bit better, It is well made, even though it is constructed in plastic, but the volume and play/power button are a wee bit flimsy. Nothing to worry about, of course, unless you have a 6 year old with a penchant for using it as a WMD ;)
3. Features:
This is the Creative's USP. It is one player that is loaded to the gills with features such as a FM radio with FM Radio Recording, Microphone, and even Line-in recording, for converting songs from cassettes directly to MP3 using th player alone. No need of the computer. In addition, the player has 4 equalizer settings, and even a customizable one. And of course, it plays music brilliantly. My player has 256MB of memory which holds about 50-60songs, and the player also comes in 128MB, 512MB and 1GB versions. I would advice you to avoid the 1GB version, as it is expensive, and at that price, I'd rather say you stretch your budget for the uber-cool 2GB iPod Nano. (which has a colour screen, but no FM radio).
4. Sound:
This of course is the primary thing anyone should look for in an MP3 player, and the Creative does not disappoint. The sound quality is quite good, and can handle all genres of music from Pop to Rock to Hip-Hop, Trance... and everything in between. The earphones provided are of an excellent quality, with a nice comfortable padding, and feel quite good to use even for long durations. The volume may need to pumped up a bit for listening in loud situations, but i found that a software update on the net loudens up the set quite a bit, providing even louder volume, which is good.
5. Other features:
The player also comes with a very nice rubber-like extra cover to protect it. This cover is white and translucent, and lets you access the controls very easily. IT also doubles up as a belt clip, and the Micro also comes with a shoulder strap. The cover is quite good, as it saved the player from getting scratches when I dropped it.
A few quirks/drawbacks of the player:
There area a few drawbacks to the Muvo, primarily the weird sort of faint buzzing sound which comes whenever the backlight is on. This can or cannot be a major issue, and I guess most owners have come to accept and live with this. This problem is only heard when you are changing songs, in the silent period between the change of songs. For once the song is being played, you cannot hear the buzz in the background. Besides, I found that, unless you use the player at night or in a dark room, you do not need the backlight. In a moderately lit room, the backlight is not needed.
The other quirk is the relative lack of FM signal strength. I say relative, as compared to other players, as reception is quite good. It may only get a bit fuzzy if you are in a lift or a closed room with no windows ;). You have to manually scan for the FM stations, as Auto scan can't pick them up very effectively, but once you've got your station of choice, you only need to save it to the Preset mode, and you can access it at the flick of a switch.
Overall, the Muvo Micro is a very nice MP3 player to have. For those concerned about the slight Buzz, you can try Creative's Muvo TX FM, which has the same features, but is slightly larger.

Decent price - not so decent product.......2007-02-08
After shopping around for a standard phone with callerID and no answering machine (no power outlet nearby), I came across this phone that had good ratings and was reasonably priced.
I like the look and feel of the phone. The buttons are big enough and the speakerphone works good.
However, when the unit is wall mounted, the LCD display is angled down, and is hard to see unless you crouch down to look at it. Of course, that depends on how high your phone jack is, and how tall you are. I bought two of these phones and both locations I put them were too low to see without crouching down.
The other problem is that three out of our four family members complained that they could not hear the caller very well. I don't know if plugging the unit into a power jack would have made any difference. I could not try that because the unit did not come with an AC adapter, plus I have no power outlet close enough to reach.
So, I had to take both phones down, and put our 15 year old ones back up.

I actually like the phone quite a bit. It works pretty well in almost every regard. Sound quality is very good, buttons are easy to find and use, and the feature set is pretty good. Overall, a nice phone and a good value.
However, this item is advertised as having 20 number memory, which is 10 "one touch" and 10 "two touch". I have not been able to get the two touch feature to work.
I tried calling the customer support number. I could never get an answer. I was always put on a queue, waited for a couple of minutes, and then offered a voicemail option or dropping the call. I left messages, and never got a call back. I (twice) tried recalling immediately after getting booted. I tried for an hour. No joy. Don't buy Northwestern Bell Phones unless you are sure nothing will ever go wrong.

This is a real lemon. The volume does not work properly and distorts the sound. The touchtone keys stick even though I have had this phone less than 6 months. I would like my money back.
Caller ID Stopped Working on Day 3.......2006-10-18
Love this phone.....if only the Caller ID would work! It worked fine on day 1, day 2 worked on and off.....day 3 Caller ID not working. Tried moving the phone to different outlets, removing the batteries & putting them back in, tried new wire etc.... The phone works great otherwise. Loved the Caller ID when it was working--much larger than most and easy to read. Oh well!
Everything you want in a corded phone!.......2006-10-15
Corded phones with features are becoming harder to find now-a-days. My home needed one corded phone for sure fire communications during power outages, mobile phone down for whatever reason, etc. This is one of the few corded phones with caller ID and no answering machine built in. The greatest feature of this phone is it has a HOLD button so one can place a call on hold while one gets high tech cordless, etc. Also with the built in speaker phone this phone is great in the kitchen. Highly recommend this for your one corded phone in the house!

I really like this caller ID unit. I didn't give it 5 stars because of it's large bulky size and for the fact that it states speakerphone but is not. It does pick up an outside line, dial the number listed on the ID then you are prompted to pick up your receiver. It is easy to use and easy to read.
