I got these cute little things in desperation after having a set of Bose TriPort earbuds for almost a year and losing the rubber tips again and again. I swore I wouldn't use them anymore.
I've had these for a couple of months and simply love them. They fit perfectly in my ear and it's much, much more difficult the get the rubber tips off.
The real kicker is the sound quality. The full spectrum is audible, and the fact that the rubber tips seal inside your ear provides a certain measure of noise isolation (not cancellation, of course, but isolation). This makes a big difference in hearing both musical resonance and depth of voices in the spoken word.
Don't hesitate - they're a steal for the price, quality, and peace of mind.

I've had the JBuds for nearly a year now, and they've held up well. I would say that the noise reduction is decent, but not as significant as with my battery-powered Sony MDR-NC6. Very comfortable and good quality manufacturing.

I really like these ear buds. They are very comfortable and you can change the piece on the ends to fit the size of your ear. Three size choices which makes these very practical. With a good fit you will really get the best sound quality possible.

These are amazing. Forget the price tag (which itself is a bargain), these ear buds sound really good. I did a side-by-side comparisons with Apple (in-box), Creative (in-box), Phillips noise reduction and Sennheiser PXC 250 noise reduction and I could not believe that JBuds sounded better! The ambient noise blocking is pretty good too. However, I am not sure how well it will work in a plane. The in-ear fit is pretty comfortable. Although no audiophile, I am pretty fussy about my sound quality. JBuds definitely made me happy.

I love every Sony product I have ever owned, from my first Walkman to my new HDTV, so I was biased in favor of the brand when I decided to spring for these. Well, these are the exception that prove the rule--HATED them. First off, they were quite uncomfortable no matter which set of rubber tips I tried. Not only were they loose, the metal edges dug into my ears. And because they were loose, I got terrible sound. I had to hold them in, pushing with my fingers, to hear anything, and there was that metal edge again. Obviously, they just don't fit my ears.
Even had they fit, I was shocked by their resemblance to Frankenstein's neck bolts when they were in my ears. Even with my hair partially covering them, they looked very noticeably weird.
I returned them and am now testing out the V-Moda Vibes (V-MODA Vibe Earbuds - Flashback Chrome), which I like much better for comfort, sound quality and appearance. Will also try the Shure e-2c's (Shure E2c Sound Isolating Earphones), also in the same price range.
solid performer, tough, great bass, good buy.......2007-08-12
I have had the ex90's for about 2yrs now. Use them 5 days a week on my commute. I listen to a lot of 80's rock music which needs bass. The ex90's have it. I have dropped them in coffee, stepped on them, had the wires tangled up in my computer bag which ripped them from my ears all the time. They may look delicate, but there tough every day use. I think they sound great at all frequencies, and are a great buy for $100 bucks. If a little wire danging down upsets you (bothers some reviewers) please don't buy these, and stay inside.
Solid pair of earbuds.......2007-07-04
After picking these up from Sonystyle yesterday, I am already impresed.
I'll admit however, these earbuds were not on the top of my shopping list, but a giftcard sweetened the deal. My criteria was a earbud with solid performance which could substitute my Bose Quietcomfort 2's, which aren't very portable. Needless to say, these fit the bill very nicely.
Pros:
They are solidly built with a sharp aluminum casing and extra-soft silicon inserts. A leather storage case is also included.
Sound quality is very good.
Cons:
Sony has a quirky habit of asymetrical cord lengths, which don't really affect the performance, but manage to piss me off whenever I see the cord dangling in my peripheral vision right below the neck.
The cord is also rather thin, so I'll see how durability holds up.
These Sony earphones are a solid purchase that I would recommend. However, I think their price and some minor quirks lower their value slightly.
To be honest, I probably would have bought a pair of V-Moda Bass Freq. earbuds for 30 dollars, if it were not for the SonyStyle giftcard I had.
But enough of my rambling, go check these out and see for yourself. Remember my opinion is only as good as what you want to hear.

Total disappointment...........2007-06-25
I'm tired of spending money buying headphones and I thought that maybe spending a little more and getting these Sony MDR-EX90LP I would be done with my long period of researching and dissatisfaction. I'm still not happy... First thing is that they have asymmetrical cords for the right and left ear ( am I suppose to use this behind my neck?) and I didn't find any information about that. I simply hate that!!
I really should just return this after paying almost $90 and not having exactly what I am looking for... I guess I'll just pile them up together with all my other ear buds headphones that I've been buying in the past year.... The iPod ones I've already bought 3 of them... No more!!! ... Then I bought one from Sony, JVC, Panasonic, etc.... They all suck!!! I'm not even thinking about buying the Bose ones 'cause all the reviews say it's not good.... Oh well... What to do???

Just what I was hoping for.......2007-08-24
I'm impressed with this little thing. The case is well-made and has a very solid feel. The Nano fits perfectly into the skin and into the MiniBlaster. I didn't have difficulties with the fit like others mentioned. Getting the Nano out takes some pushing, but that's the way it should be. You don't want it falling out on it's own and hitting the pavement. All the Nano controls are accessible. The front, circular control (volume/scroll) works fine through a silicon skin and is very protected.
The reason we buy this thing is for sound and size. Size and weight are impressively minimal. You won't beat that anywhere. As for sound, it's not a home entertainment center or a Bose IPod system - it's a tiny little device that offers maximum portability. If you can bring your Bose system along with you, then do it. If you need something small and more portable, then read on.
The sound has a distinct clarity. Mids to highs are crisp and well separated. What you loose is bass. It's attenuated, but not dull or muddy. I wasn't expecting strong bass with a frequency response of 450Hz to 20KHz. It's not built for it and shouldn't be expected.
It's made, as others have said, for you and a couple of friends in an environment without too much ambient noise. If you are looking for a system that you can play at a beech party with a big group of friends, keep looking, because this isn't it. Too many voices chatting away will drown this little thing out.
In a reasonably quiet room or out on the trail, you get enough volume to really enjoy the music. It's loud enough to hear the detail in the sound. It even gets too loud for conversations and has to be turned down. Don't get me wrong, the neighbors won't be calling or stomping on the floor. It has what it needs to fill the niche that it's designed for.
I personally like the sound with the EQ set to "Small Speakers" - seems like a good balance for Classic Rock which I tend to listen to the most.
If you want a small, light and very portable speaker system to free you from headphones and make portable music a social experience between friends again, then you are onto something.

Great for use while traveling.......2007-08-11
I wanted to be able to listen to podcasts and my own music while commuting and so first purchased (for $80) an FM converter that plugged into the lighter and my iPod and then matched an unused frequency to play what was on the iPod. The sound wasn't great and it changed depending on where I was driving. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right static frequency and match it with the device. In the short time that I tried it out I had to switch frequencies twice.
So, I looked for a speaker. I decided that it wouldn't be a disaster to buy something at this price to try even if it didn't work great. It was what I was looking for! I can use it in the car and also other places where I want to play what is on my ipod so that others can hear. It is not great sound quality, but it is much better than what I was getting with the FM converter and much easier. I can either use batteries or the AC adaptor (I already have a device that converts the cigarette lighter into AC power).
It is a great solution for what I was looking for.

Don't expect too much bass out of -any- tiny speakers but as a way to turn your nano into a sort of 21st century "transistor radio" equivalent with stereo audio and a better sound quality, this little thing is superb. Talk radio podcasts are delivered very clearly and music can be enjoyed to an extent especially if you choose an appropriate EQ setting on your nano. Volume capability is decent, just don't expect to entertain an audience bigger than about two or three. Battery life is good for the 4x AAA batteries.

The sound is good from the Miniblaster, but getting my Ipod in and out of it is a real chore!! It is very difficult to do. It not only is very hard to place in the miniblaster, but getting it out is even worse. I like the size of it as it doesn't take up a lot of room when I place it on the counter. Just difficult to use. It is also hard to adjust the volume with the "skin" on it.

My 11 year old daughter saved her $$ and did some on line research and ended up buying these. She loved them for the size which allowed her to take them into bed, on the bus etc. The audio in my opinion was "OK", but she was very happy.
We had bought them along with their noise reducing ear buds which I use while traveling in planes. I can wear them x- country very comfortably
Unfortunately we had technical problems and contacted JBL. I happened to email them on a Sunday afternoon and in about 15 minutes a real person (Josh) responded. A real person.... on a Sunday!!
He resolved the issue- which ultimately required a warranty replacement.
I cannot say enough good things about this company and Josh. I woudl buy their products again without hesitation
What a disappointment........2007-05-26
On my first foray into looking for the perfect mini speaker for my Ipod, I bought the Aiptek Mist for Nano (not realizing it only works with Gen 2 Nano)---boy, was it a cute little thing. Disappointed they don't make that product for Gen 1 Nanos, I searched Amazon for the perfect replacement mini speaker that would work with my Nano Gen 1. The JLab Miniblaster had 4 stars. Folks, speak up, because I cannot be the only one who was shocked by the low quality of this product!!
*When I first plugged it in, you couldn't hear anything because of interference from my TV remote!
*When I finally heard sound it was fuzzy at best and never got much better
*The volume level is only a smidgen better than what I can hear through my earbuds when they are out of my ears!
I read and re-read the direction and am convinced I did everything properly. I even tried it with battery power only, in the house, out of the house. No luck. This is a lousy product and I am giving it one star. This is being shipped back today.

Couldn't be happier. Battery life is good. Sound is great. If there is a little crakle I just hit the channel button and it goes away. Auto off feature is nice. They are very comfortable.
Works So Good That I Bought a Second One.......2007-07-20
This is great for us hard of hearing types who play everything louder than everyone else. Now I can set the volume as loud as I want and get virtual dolby sound separation while the AVR is set to mute or any volume others find comfortable.
The unit was easy to plug in as my Yamaha AVR has 2 optical outputs. The only minor irratant is that because the headset charger is intergral to the base, the headset is kept on the other side of the room near the TV. I'm still going to order an additional one.
Sony provides an option to mate that headset to this base and avoid running extra cables or daisy chain them together as each base also has an optical output jack.
Better than I could've hoped for........2007-02-16
Granted, I'm not a true audiophile, but I recieved these as a present about a year ago, and was instantly shocked at the sound quality, signal strength, and range I got from these headphones. I can keep these on while wandering around my entire apartment, and the signal is strong enough to go through two walls without frequently dropping. They are excellent at keeping ambient noise out. The battery lasts a very long time, and recharges extremely quickly.
One year on, they still work as well as they did when I got them.
Sony MRD-DS6000 Headphones - Great!.......2007-01-03
I am absolutely thrilled with the Sony MRD-DS6000 headphones. I live in the city and have a lot of interference in my area. Although I have the high end IR Sony headphones (which require line of sight but work very very well) that I use in one of my multi-media rooms, I took a chance on the RF MRD-DS6000 headphones based on a recommendation from a friend. Unlike other RF headphones I have used (such as the Sennheiser RS65s), the MRD-DS6000 seem to have no interference. Overall, the sound is very good from the MRD-DS6000 headphones and close to wired headphones. I highly recommend these headphones.

JVC HA-M300V - decent headphones at a great price .......2007-03-19
Many people are now using earbuds to listen to music during exercise, but I intentionally purchased these to use instead of the 'buds' that came with my mp3 player. For exercise purposes, they stay securely on my head (never falling out of my ears), and using the volume knob along with the volume settings on my mp3 player (Creative Zen Nano) they block out almost all ambient exercise noises (treadmills, TV, talking) without hurting my eardrums - another advantage over the buds. With sensitive hearing, there was a comfortable maximum setting.
For use with other devices, such as my computer with a 1/4" adapter, in quieter settings, I still enjoyed the benefit of not hearing ambient sounds, and feeling comfortable wearing them.
I only found a few minor faults with these headphones. Especially during exercise, I found myself wanting a little more bass. In a quieter environment, I still wanted a little more. The cable is also a bit long, so I had to use a rubber band to wrap up a few feet of it, and put that part of the cable in my pocket during exercise. For those of you who like your music loud, these may not be the best headphones. As I mentioned, with the mp3 player I use, I discovered a maximum volume threshold.
Overall: great headphones for the average music lover who 1) wants to listen to music without external interference and 2) likes to listen to their own playlist when working out.

the title really says it all. there are great little headphones that are also portable enough to carry with a laptop. the in-line volume control is great. you don't know what you are missing until you try it.

Very poor quality!.......2007-02-17
I have never seen so poor headphones. Honestly, it has a very cheap plastic; I mean the material it was made of. When I first time took it in my hands the first thought that came out of my mind was " What did you spend a $100 bucks for, IDIOT!!!!!). Secondly, I didn't feel any difference with or without the digital processor (such a waste of money!!!). DO NOT BUY IT. I urge you to go to BESTBUY first and take a look at it ( my mistake, I did not do it).
