Amazon.com Product Description

The FinePix 2600 reaffirms Fuji's reputation for producing high-quality, affordable digital point-and-shoot cameras. Like its predecessors, the 2600 is compact, lightweight, fast, and fun to use.

The 2600 is competing in one of the most crowded segments in the digital camera market. Virtually every manufacturer is now (as of November 2001) producing a 2-megapixel point-and-shoot with a 3x optical zoom lens, and it's no surprise: these cameras closely resemble their film counterparts in size, shape, and function, and the 1,600 by 1,200 images they capture contain enough detail for 8-by-10-inch prints, more or less matching the quality of most film point-and-shoot cameras.

With so many models to choose from, why pick the 2600? For one thing, Fuji was unusually generous with the accessories. The camera comes with a 16 MB memory card (big enough for 39 pictures at default resolution), plus a set of rechargeable batteries and a charger. In addition, this camera is quicker than most of its competitors. When you turn it on, it's ready to use very quickly, and shutter lag and shot-to-shot performance are also surprising for a camera in its class. Battery life is also good, especially for a camera that uses only two AA batteries.

Of course, not everything about the 2600 is perfect. Its body is made of plastic, and some of the buttons don't feel quite as durable as those on other cameras, though we had no problems with reliability during testing. The sliding clamshell lens cover is a nice touch, but, unlike other cameras, sliding the cover open and closed does not turn the camera on and off--there's a power switch on top for this purpose. As a result, we sometimes found ourselves closing the lens cover and forgetting to turn the camera off. In addition, the camera offers relatively few manual controls: white balance is adjustable, as is exposure compensation, and the flash has five modes, but shutter speed and aperture are both set automatically. The camera also includes a 20-second movie mode, but the movies lack audio. If you're the type of photographer who simply likes to turn the camera on, aim, zoom, and shoot, you'll be thrilled with the simplicity of the design, but if you want more control, this probably isn't the best choice for you.

The FinePix 2600 Zoom is a great value, especially for photographers who love point-and-shoot simplicity. It's affordably priced, simple, and fun to use, includes rechargeable batteries and a charger, and produces crisp images. --Shane Burnett

2 out of 5 stars DECENT ENTRY LEVEL CAMERA.......2006-03-13

I HAVE OWNED THIS CAMERA FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW I BOUGHT IT WHEN DIGITAL CAMERAS WERE STILL PRICEY PAID ABOUT $225.00 I HAVE BEEN SHOPPING FOR A NEW CAMERA AND HAVE DECIDED TO BUY THE KODAK Z740

THIS WAS MY FIRST DIGITAL CAMERA THE REVIEWS AT THE TIME I BOUGHT IT WERE VERY GOOD FOR THE MONEY BUT THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW AND NOW YOU CAN GET MORE CAMERA FOR YOUR MONEY!

THIS CAMERA HAS ONE MAJOR FLAW YOU NEED TO BE AWARE OF THE BATTERY DOOR I DON'T KNOW IF FUJI HAS FIXED THE ISSUE ON NEWER VERSIONS OF THIS OR NOT BUT ALOT OF THE REVIEWS I READ WHEN I BOUGHT MINE MENTIONED THIS THE DOOR POPS OPEN VERY EASY IF YOU HAPPEN TO BUMP IT AND OUT COMES YOUR BATTERYS ON THE GROUND IF YOU GET ONE OPEN THE DOOR AND CAREFULLY BEND THE METAL TAB LATCH OUT A LITTLE THIS SEEMS TO HELP HOLD A BIT BETTER

ALSO A SMALLER FLAW IS THE SLIDEING LENS COVER DOOR IT HAS TO "CLICKED" ALL THE WAY OPEN FOR THE CAMERA TO WORK

AS FAR AS PICTURES IT TOOK PRETTY GOOD PICTURES AT FIRST BUT OVER TIME THE IMAGE QUALITY DOSEN'T SEEM AS GOOD AS IT WAS
THIS IS A VERY BASIC CAMERA WITH VERY BASIC FEATURES EASY TO OPERATE

GIVEN THE CURRENT PRICE AND FEATURES OF DIGITAL CAMERAS I THINK I WOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE

3 out of 5 stars Wonderful for 3 years and then quit working.......2005-12-29

I have enjoyed this camera for about three years now. The picture quality is good and it is easy to use. BUT, just a few days ago while taking Christmas pictures it just died! The lens is stuck in an open position and the power will not come on. I have since learned that this camera is famous for working a year or so, and then the motor quits working. I would recommend a more reliable digital camera.

1 out of 5 stars WORST camera there ever was! Get a Kodak (Z760 is awesome!) instead!.......2005-12-02

I used this fuji camera for about 4 or 5 years! I hated it from day one!! It is a pain in the rear.... and you don't get to change very many settings. The picture results most of the time are not even worth putting in the trash! This camera is garbage! Get a Kodak Z760.... you will be much happier!

5 out of 5 stars My Very First Digital Camera Ever!.......2005-03-19

This fat little camera always had something "special" about it. Not only because it was the very first digital camera I ever owned and bought, but because of the great quality pictures it always rendered. I didn't know that, however, until I stupidly gave the camera away to a friend. I automatically believed any future camera I were to buy would give the same outstanding results, and indeed, most of the many cameras that were to follow that one did give me outstanding results. However, like I said, there was something "unique" in the pics this one captured. It always produced the brightest and richest colors and details. Nothing ever seemed to be "off" in the pics. Its macro capability always impressed me as well. I feel its macro capability was always underrated. Of course, this camera 'is' limited in that it is only a meager 2 megapixels and has no real manual capabilities to speak of, but you don't really need them if you are satisfied to take pictures in good lighting. Personally, I have taken really good pics indoors in dim situations using the flash and have been satisfied. Each photographic situation may vary of course. Outdoors though, on any bright sunny day is when this camera really shines with the pics it renders. I know that this camera is almost impossible to find now, but if you happen upon one (used or otherwise) and you can trust the seller you definitely should buy it.
By the way, my friend would not give back the camera even when I offered to pay him a good amount. I guess he also saw the "specialness" in the pics it captured. However, I 'was' able to find another one (refurbished at overstock.com) that is to this day every bit as good as the original one I bought. It gives the same awesome quality pics.

4 out of 5 stars Great for beginners!.......2004-12-22

I bought this camera a few years ago, I was looking for a camera that was easy to handle, small in size, and was for beginners...well, I found this camera, and I got what I was looking for--a great, compact camera with excellent handling for beginners.
This camera uses a SmartMedia card, which is really convenient since you can find SmartMedia cards just about everywhere for a bargain price.
What was the deciding factor for me to buy this camera, was the amount of batteries it used. I was surprised to learn that it only uses two AA batteries, it has so many features for a beginner that you would think it would use more batteries. The life of the battery is fairly long, about 100 minutes, which is always nice. Some people may complain that it uses AA batteries, and that they would prefer to use a lithium battery, but I always find myself asking--why? It is so much more convenient to use AA batteries because you can pick them up anywhere.

The only thing about this camera that I can complain about is that there is no way to attach any additional lenses or filters, you can't even attach an adapter to add on any thing to the lens. For a beginner photographer, though, that is probably okay since beginners are not really using the lens or filters yet.
Also, this camera is a little bulkier than I had originally thought. It is small in length and height, but it is surprisingly thick.

Other than that, though, I thoroughly enjoyed this camera during the time I had it, and the only reason I sold it was because I was ready for an upgrade. But I loved this camera to bits while I had it--it really prepared me for the more advanced cameras, and it taught me all of my basic photography skills. Excellent, excellent camera for beginners.

    Amazon.com Product Description

Panasonic's KX-TG5240M utilizes the 5.8 GHz band and digital frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology for increased call security and range and for less interference. This system comes with one handset but can accommodate up to three more (for a total of four). Compatible with Caller ID/call waiting, the KX-TG5240M offers a 50-station caller ID memory and dialer, accessible through the handset's three-line backlit LCD. It also features talking caller ID, which audibly announces who's calling through the handset and base speakerphones. Rounding out the main features are an integrated digital answering system and a light-up antenna on the handset that flashes to alert you to new calls and messages. The handsets also offer a variety of ring tones and melodies to choose from.

The KX-TG5240M allows you to pre-program frequently called numbers, even for chain dialing (ideal for calling automated systems that require a series of numeric inputs). It's also Caller IQ compatible, a service provides updates on weather, sports, horoscopes, and more; the information is sent directly to your telephone and displayed on the handset screen. (Caller ID and call waiting require subscription through your phone company. Caller IQ is a fee based service that requires registration.)

Panasonic KX-TG5240M GigaRange Supreme 5.8 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Answering System....

Sorry to say....This was by far the worst product I have ordered here...not only was it a different model which I was happy to see that it was an upgrade to the one I had ordered....but I guess you get what you pay for....I tried for two days to get the handset to charge and yet no matter what I tried even as to spending another $22.00 on a battery it just woulldn't charge. It wasn't even worth my time to pack it up and send it back..So to say it was worth it to me to throw it in the garbage...It was......and $107.00 later on a new phone.. I finally realized it was worth the money to be able to use something that I paid for.

    Thank You,a disappointed customer....

2 out of 5 stars End of 1 Year Warranty..........2007-03-03

... and my answering machine - out of nowhere - started blinking like crazy, displaying an "E9" error. I was told by Panasonic it was an "internal error" and needs to be sent for repair. This repair could cost 80+ dollars. I was very disappointed as it wasn't used that frequently and I only had it 1 year and 4 months. It worked well besides that and my handsets were still working but now need a new answering machine for the handsets or I have to buy an entirely new system. :(

Has a LOT of features. VERY clear and easy to program. Love the announce caller ID. Has every feature you can use. I have additional phones and once you program one, it will send data (phone book) to other phones automaticaly. Great product

But what's even cooler is that the tip of the antenna - which lights up red - will alert you to an incoming call (or a message waiting for you2). So turn off the ringer, let the kids sleep, and never miss a call. ** Put the Phone Down While You Talk. Having a handset speakerphone may not seem like such a big deal-until you have to call an automated phone system.

      Amazon Product Description

      The Basics
Founded in 1998 and acquired by Gateway in early 2004, eMachines today is one of the largest vendors of PCs sold through U.S. retailers. With the T2862 Desktop PC, eMachines targets entry-level and undemanding consumers who want a desktop computer but can't justify the price of a high-end model and probably don't need one anyway. Featuring a cost-effective yet reasonably powerful CPU, minimal memory and mediocre 3D graphics performance, the unit is not designed for a top-level business environment or gaming den. But if word processing, personal finances, email and Internet surfing and CD burning are your priorities, the eMachines T2862 is a sensible and extremely affordable solution.

      Processor
At the heart of any computer lies the CPU (or processor), a massive collection of miniature transistors that governs the speed and power of the entire unit. Many entry-level desktops utilize "budget" processors such as an Intel Celeron, and that is indeed the case with this model. But this particular processor is a new and recently enhanced version of the venerable Celeron, nicknamed the Celeron D and carrying 256 KB of Level 2 cache and a 533 MHz system bus for perceptibly faster performance than Celerons manufactured prior to 2004. This is the second fastest Celeron currently on the market, a 2.66 GHz version that doesn't approach the raw data-churning speed of a high-end Pentium 4 but certainly holds its own against lower-end Pentiums and AMD Athlons.

      Memory
Computers typically store information on their hard drive, but they keep frequently and recently accessed data in Random Access Memory (RAM) for faster retrieval. More RAM means more efficient computing, superior multitasking and less strain on your hard drive. eMachines has partnered this unit's processor with 256 MB of PC2700 DDR SDRAM main memory, the minimum recommended allotment for a modern PC. Thusly, the eMachines T2862 is not ideal for demanding multitasking sessions or ultra-complex applications in its stock form, though users may upgrade the memory (at additional cost) to a whopping 2 GB.

      Video
CPU's are usually so busy doing basic calculations that they need help translating visual output to the viewing screen. This is the duty of the graphics card (or graphics controller). A graphics controller with "dedicated" video memory is preferable to a controller that "shares" the system's main memory, as it better handles complex procedures. The eMachines T2862 is equipped with an Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video controller that is integrated on the motherboard and shares 64 MB of the system's main memory. Thusly, the unit is not intended for anyone who regularly works or plays with demanding 3D animations such as those found in the latest high-end games, unless they first purchase and install a separate graphics card. A display screen is not enclosed, thus allowing you to continue using your current monitor or select from today's many alternatives.

      Sound
Audio is produced via an AC 97-compatible chip integrated on the motherboard. AC-97 is today's most accepted entry-level PC audio standard. Though not as sophisticated as most standalone audio cards (its audio specs aren't as good and it supports limited speaker configurations), this integrated chipset is perfectly adequate for most stereo applications. eMachines will also enclose a pair of small desktop speakers for your listening enjoyment.

      Hard Drive
The built-in 60 MB hard drive sports enough space for a typical home or home office situation or student setup. However, if you regularly load large applications, save large files, and maintain a sizeable multimedia or music collection, you may need to upgrade this drive, transfer files to a compact disc to free up room, or add another hard drive.

      Optical Drive
An optical drive is essential in today's computing world. A "CD-ROM" drive allows you to install CD-based applications and play music CDs. A "CD-RW" drive adds CD "burning", so you can also backup your important files to long-lasting discs and create personalized music CDs. With a DVD-ROM drive you can enjoy all of the above plus watch the same big budget DVD movies you watch on your home entertainment system. And with a DVD-RW drive, you can also "write" home movies to durable discs and archive files to DVD (DVDs boast more than seven times the storage capacity of CDs).

The eMachines T2862 features a DVD/CD-RW drive that allows you to install applications from CD, play and burn music and data CDs, and play DVD movies. DVD burning is not possible unless you upgrade or replace this drive.

      Connectivity and Expansion
Though designed for the budget conscious, the eMachines T2862 nevertheless sports all the standard amenities, and then some. Communication options include an Intel PRO 10/100Mbps integrated LAN for high-speed Internet and email access and a standard 56K modem for low-speed dial-up service. For reading memory cards from devices such as digital cameras and PDAs, the system features an 8-in-1 Digital Media Manager. And, with no less than five high-speed USB 2.0 ports at your disposal, you'll have plenty of places to plug your plug and play peripherals. eMachines has not included an IEEE 1394 FireWire port, most commonly used for fast data transfer from digital camcorders.

      Operating System and Software
The system features a surprisingly generous software package headed by Microsoft's Windows XP Home Edition operating system, Microsotf's Works 8.0 productivity suite, Microsoft's Money 2004 financial center and several useful multimedia and music utilities.

      Keyboard and Mouse
A Standard eMachines Multimedia Keyboard and 2-button mouse (with scroll wheel) are enclosed.

5 out of 5 stars Great bang for the buck.......2005-01-19

I bought this model about a year ago. The one I got had a floppy drive but everything else is the same. Most of the stuff has already been covered such as what software it came with and so on. I want to address the fact the this computer comes with standard parts.

Having stnadard parts means that this is a very upgradable computer as far as pre-made computers go, in fact you can upgrade everything except the processor and that's only because AMD doesn't make a faster Athlon XP processor (they do make Athlon 64 bit processors which are faster but they won't work in this computer). The motherboard is standard ATX which is nice because some manufacturers have proprietary motherboards, and it can handle up to 2 GB of PC3200 ram (it comes with 512 MB of PC2700 ram). I've messed around with mine a lot already. I've added a new videocard and I upgraded the ram to 1 GB of PC3200, now it runs any game thrown at it including Doom 3 and Half Life 2 at 1024x768 resolution. I couldn't find a better computer for the price one year ago, and at it's current price it's still a good buy.

For anyone hesitant about buying a computer with an AMD processor my advice is, don't worry. Like I said I've had it for a year and every program I have, including MS Office XP, runs flawlessly. The processor its self is comparable to a brand new Pentium 4 2.8 GHz or a Pentium 4 3.2 GHz from a year ago.

      4 out of 5 stars Great entry-level PC.......2005-01-05

I'm a Mac guy myself, but I recommended this to a friend who needed an inexpensive PC. I was a little hesitant at first since eMachines has had some quality control issues in the past. From the research I've done however, it appears that those issues have been addressed. I wouldn't recommend it for high-end work or serious gaming action, but for most tasks, it works quite well.

I liked the fact that it comes with a fast Athlon XP chip. No speed issues at all. It also comes with 512MB of RAM (actually, 448MB - more on that later) and a spacious 160GB HD - a must for storing music, pictures, etc. DVD burner comes in the package as well, which is nice. Burns discs plenty fast with few issues, iTunes works with it just fine. It does have integrated nVidia nForce 2 graphics (equivalent to a GeForce 4MX). Much faster than the Intel Integrated graphics in Celerons. The graphics do take up 64MB of RAM (you can set the amount used for graphics in the BIOS if you feel comfortable messing with those settings) of the 512MB installed. More importantly, there is an 8X AGP slot available should you decide to upgrade the video card later. The integrated graphics work well for older games or less intensive games. The only criticism is a lack of DVI for supporting digital displays. The built-in media card reader is nice too. There is no floppy drive on this machine, so if you have data stored on floppies, it's time to move to the 21st century and put it on CD-R or a USB Flash Drive.

Windows XP Home comes standard and is fine for most uses. SP 1 came on the model my friend purchased, so first order of business was a string of updates. He's on AOL dial-up (yeah, I know) and it took forever to download. I also removed IE from the desktop and installed FireFox instead. IE is only used for Windows Update. No major problems with SP 2 so far. The installed software is adequate and includes 90 days of Norton Anti-Virus protection. It comes with Works, photo editing and CD burning software. Just enough to cover the basics really. A slightly more robust software package would be nice, but at this price point, I'm not complaining. Oh, and unlike the HP/Compaq systems we were looking at, you get a complete software restore DVD just in case.

The included keyboard and mouse are OK. It comes with basic speakers so if you want sound that will blow you away, you'll want to buy a different set.

For simple home computing needs, can't really complain. This system offers good performance and expandability for the price. If you're looking for a machine to tear through Photoshop or Doom 3, this isn't your rig. For most users however, this machine is more than adequate. Been running for almost three months now and no complaints. It may not be super-fast or flashy, but it's solid and gets the job done. Can't ask for much more than that.

5 out of 5 stars impressed so far.......2004-11-11

I bought this computer doing more research than last time I bought one. I bought another computer 1 year ago I was happy until I got some new games and it couldnt play them. It was runnung a 2.6ghz celeron, with Intel's Extreme Graphics. I was dissappointed I couldn't install new Graphics card because there was no slot. Everything else I used it for worked fine.
Well the first thing I did was install the game I wanted to play the most, and the emachines started out just fine playing game. I did have to turn down some settings to let it run even faster, but I can install AGP graphics card and should have no problem. This computer also seems to start up faster and most internet browsing seems just a little bit faster. I dont know how this processer compares to Pentium 4 but I can recommend AMD to anyone. All I need to do is learn about DVD burning now.

      5 out of 5 stars Excellent Computer!! 5 Stars!.......2004-10-29

I just purchased this computer this week, and I am VERY impressed! I previously owned a very old PC that was extremely slow (233 Mhz, 3 GB HD...), so upgrading so drastically was quite a shock. It takes roughly 20 seconds for the PC to start up and be ready for your use, which is very fast. CD burning is extremely quick. I havent tried the DVD burner yet though. I am also a gamer, and this computer does gaming justice. I have more than enough room for all my games on the 160 GB HD! And all my games run very fast and smooth. But they aren't the very top of the line games, but rather games like Command & Conquer. Also, I've noticed my dial-up connection goes ATLEAST twice as fast than on my old computer. I also bought the eMachines 17" CRT flat screen, which is a great accessory to this computer. If your looking for a very powerful, fast, computer, and are on a budget, this is the computer for you!

5 out of 5 stars Great VCR for the Price.......2002-01-28

This has everything you could need. It has Coaxial inputs and outputs, and RCA inputs and outputs. Absolute amazing quality on my big screen tv. Good remote too.

4 out of 5 stars Entry level VCR - more than enough for the format..........2001-02-04

Samsung's very comprehensive range of products includes the entry level model VR8060. Very simple VCR indeed, but with high technology features: 19 microns heads (improves video signal/noise ratio = better picture quality, especially on over-used rental tapes), improved high speed mechanic... Dont be fooled: all the entry level VCR share the same kind of noisy mechanic. The sound is very good (hifi mode), and acceptable in linear mono. If connected to cable TV, the setup is automatic (plug and play?). Anyways, for a slowly disapearing format (VHS), why spend more money? The recording quality is fairly good and crisp. Interesting point: Samsung is using the same basis for all it's VCR, probably for a better price management. That means that this entry level and the high end model differs only for features (front A/V inputs on the next model, and 'diamond' heads on the high end model).

5 out of 5 stars Excellent VCR at a great price!.......2000-11-06

Over the past two months, my new Samsung VR-8060 Stereo/Hi-Fi VCR has turned out to be an absolute gem! It works flawlessly, and it's loaded with all the latest features, most of which you'd expect in models with much higher price tag. Here's the really good stuff about the Samsung VR-8060...

      * SUPERB PICTURE AND SOUND! The picture is bright, sharp, clear and stable; the stereophonic hi-fi sound has excellent balance and stereo imaging.

      * EXCELLENT UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL (URC): It's slim and lightweight, simple in design, and easy to use. Some of the buttons are a bit on the small side, but the URC's layout is ergonomically pleasing. It's easy to do everything with only one hand. The URC's signal is strong enough to activate the VCR from almost anywhere in the room.

      * EASY TO SET UP: The VR-8060 has on screen programming, which is a snap to use. The blue programming screen is clear and easy to read. Setting VCR functions is very simple. Especially easy is setting the clock and pre-programming the VCR for recording at later times.

      * ALL THE FUNCTIONS YOU COULD WANT: The basic functions - Play, Record, Fast Forward, Rewind, Stop, and Eject - can be controlled from either the URC or the VCR's front panel. The more advanced functions - Review, Scan, Frame Advance, Forward Advance/Skip - are all controllable by the URC.

      * PLUG AND PLAY: Once you plug your VR-8060 in, it's ready...well almost ready...to play! If you have cable TV, or, in most cases, a cable box, the VCR will automatically detect all available channels and set itself up. The VR-8060 won't miss any channels, but sometimes it turns out to be a bit too thorough. If it detects any signal at all - even line noise - it will add the channel. It's a good idea to follow up your auto channel setup with a manual review to delete any unwanted channels.

      * VERY RELIABLE: In the eight months I've owned my Samsung VR-8060, there hasn't been even a hint of trouble with it!! Every feature works flawlessly.

If you're like me, with a considerable amount of money invested in a videocassette library, then an excellent, reliable VCR is an absolute must to own. The Samsung VR-8060 Stereo Hi-Fi VCR fills that role perfectly!

2 out of 5 stars WARNING NO Linear Stereo Capability.......2000-10-14

If you have VHS tapes recorded in Stereo on the Linear tracks this VCR will only play them back in Monaural sound. All pre-recorded VHS tapes recorded in HiFi Stereo also contain a Stereo Linear track on the edge of the tape. This unit can not default to the Linear Stereo. It will only play the linear track back in Mono. This unit also does not have an LP Record mode.

3 out of 5 stars A good match for the price.......2000-06-27

My first experience with Samsung products started 5 years ago. So far I'm so satisfied. I own a Samsung camcorder (5 years), a Samsung 2-head VCR (3 years), and the Samsung VR8060 VCR (6 months). No problems at all with any of these products. Great performance, and well worth the money. The Samsung VR8060 VCR has an excellent picture quality, and excellent recording. The one-year warranty on parts, 90 days on labor is more than enough. I never needed any of them for my Samsung products.
