Product Description

The FinePix F450 Zoom features five megapixel resolutions, with a 3.4 times optical zoom, two inch LCD screen, and housed in a design so small that it can be hidden behind a single Post-It Note.Although weighing no more than a mobile handset, the FinePix F450 Zoom is big where it counts - boasting 2" LCD screens, fast F2.8 lenses and enough megapixels to allow images to be printed as enlargements without loss of quality.Furthermore, the brushed metal casing and eye-catching, cool, blue lights will please those who feel aesthetic appeal is as critical as image quality. Not just a pretty face, the FinePix F450 Zoom is capable of ISO 80, enabling enhanced quality images in bright conditions.A new lithium rechargeable battery gives the cameras stamina, while technology advancements mean its power consumption has been reduced even further. This model comes complete with a PictureCradle, making recharging and downloading both easy and convenient. PictBridge compatibility also allows printing at home without the need for a PC or Mac.

2 out of 5 stars bad customer service.......2007-09-04

i baught this camera about a year ago and i takes good pictures.. and is easy to upload, hower the zoom has broken 4 times, and my camera has had to be sent in to be repaired, it can take many months for this repair, and my camera has been replaced, but the zoom just broke again yesterday, and this time i plan on buying a new camera.

3 out of 5 stars Send out the warranty card!.......2007-01-26

I owned it and loved it, but after only a year and a half of careful and light use, the lens got stuck out. My boss also purchased one and after only ONE year of use, her lens got stuck out too! Make sure that you fill out the warranty card so your can get repaired' we didn't and now we have no camara and we're $200 down.
I tried to contact Fuji to no avail, I waited on the phone for 15 minutes and I never got a human being on the Tecnical Support and Repair line.
Despite the poor life span of the product and the awful costumer service from Fuji, I really loved the camera, it was compact, stylish, easy to handle and to understand, great pic quality and easy to install software, I loved the video feature(although the DVD maker never work quite right, big LCD screen, great battery life... I really miss my camera.

4 out of 5 stars SUCH A BEAUTIFUL CAMERA, too bad it's sooo annoying sometimes..........2006-08-07

LOOK AT IT! It's GORgeous. I'm surprised Fuji doesn't have Paris Hilton modeling with it. Its unique design and the beauty of it is certainly undeniable... oh, and in case you're measuring and trying to compare and figure out how small/big this camera is.. let me clear that up; yes, it's tiny. It really is tiny. One thing I like about it, though, is that even though it's very compact, it's not overly light. (I never worry about dropping it..... I do get scared when other people touch it though... -haha)

What's there NOT to like about it? I can't decide whether to keep this camera because of the fact that it's so fantastic looking and I really don't think I'll find anything better as far as design... or sell it and buy something maybe a bit bigger and for sure less "cool"-looking in sacrifice for CLEAR pictures, EVERY time.

What this camera will often leave you with if you're taking pictures of anything with the slightest bit of motion is about 10 pictures that are far too blurry, 3 pictures that are blurry but you really want to kill yourself because they were/would've been *perfect* (and at about this moment you're cursing Fuji with all you've got), and 2 pictures that are clear but YOU screwed up the picture by getting half your ear cut off or accidentally snapping the picture when Laura had her finger up her nose. Damnit. That sucks.

It all depends on what you're taking pictures of. Never take this to any kind of event that's very important to you and monumental and you want pictures for... ever... because that's when it'll fail you; trust me. I took it to a graduation and first I thought it was only the lighting, so I turned the flash off, then it was making things blurry so I turned it back on and changed settings.. and it was still making things blurry. I didn't get one clear shot of that whole event. Let's just say it pissed me off and that's when I'd realized I'd had about enough.

I take pictures of me and my girl friends all the time for profile shots and things... we're just playing around.. we have all the time in the world to get the right pose. I never have problems then because we're HOLDING VERY STILL... but taking this camera to events, you know, where people MOVE; "just say 'no'".

I did take this to a winter formal and got very clear, crisp pictures that I blew-up into 5"x7" and they turned out amazingly well so I was pleased with my F450 then, however I can't stress this enough; digital cameras anymore are all about convenience. It's not convenient to have to ask a stranger if they can "start over" and give the same reaction they did the FIRST time your friend yelled "LOOK AT MY POOPY UNDIES!" at them... no, because... that just doesn't work.

ALSO price doesn't always represent quality, okay? Oh, and neither does mega-pixels, like someone else noted. Honestly, I preferred my Sony 3.2mp over this one. "If I could tuuuuurn back tiiiime...". ((Aw, but don't think I'm saying Sony's are all somethin' great!!!!!! Don't buy T-ANYTHING! They're all really bad. Read reviews. **Some** reviews are your friend, so read many.]

5 out of 5 stars Finepix F450.......2005-11-29

I bought this camera when it first came out in March 2005. I still love it. The main reason I purchased it was the small size and the 5 mp lens. (I was replacing an older, larger 3 mp digital camera.) In short, I wanted a compact point-and-shoot camera with a decent size (at least 5 mp) lens. For this purpose, it exceeds all expectations. I purchased a small case that fits on my belt and I can take this camera anywhere and almost anytime - it is fun to pull out a camera at parties for candid shots. I also found that this camera is sturdy enough for outdoor activities. I have taken it snow skiing (cold weather) and on a 5 day trip down the Yampa River (hot weather) and it survived and worked fine. That said, stating what should be obvious, if you are looking for professional quality pix, this camera definitely is not for you. Pictures in the 5 x 7 size look great, and 8 x 10 size still look pretty good, but I venture to guess that quality decreases measurably with any larger size pictures. Also, what should be obvious with any similar type camera, you need a larger memory card (256 or 512 mp) and a backup battery (especially if you don't have access to electric outlets). All in all, a great compact point-and-shoot camera.

I guarantee you will regret buying this camera if you do so. I have had the camera since it first came out (about a year ago). There are much fewer color options than other cameras produced at the same time and earlier than the F450. In fact, you basically have your choice of color or black & white. Although the pictures look normal once you upload them to your computer, on the LCD display they will look like a reddish haze. That's if you use the flash. Pictures are impossible to take without flash. They will be unusably blurry. Which means you will end up with red eye even when you're in a brightly lit place where you wouldn't normally need to use the flash. Less than a month after I bought it, the camera began "sticking". I turn it off and the zoom doesn't retract. So I have to turn it on and off again to be able to safely put it away.
This camera was a huge mistake - Fujifilm's for making and selling it, and mine for buying it.

The ER-4 MicroPro earphones are the next best thing to live music, with noise isolation far surpassing that of active-noise-reduction earphones. The ER-4's require NO batteries, and can be plugged into any audio source. Their 20-25 dB of external noise exclusion allows you to hear the full dynamic range of recordings without having to play them at unnaturally high and unsafe levels. The ER-4S (Stereo) is the musician's choice. Extremely detailed, well-balanced, and tight bass are just a few words to describe their awesome sound. These phones offer a sonic checkout from the real world!

4 out of 5 stars Nice, Not Perfect.......2007-06-13

Great improvement over earbuds. Decent mid-fi sound, but fatiguing because hard, forward. I use both this and the Shure SE530, which is overall much more musical, less fatiguing. The Shure preserves more of the scant spatial information and harmonics left in WAV and AAC formats. The Etymotic is harder to drive, plays softer. The Shure has livelier dynamics, much much better bass and lower midrange, and is smoother, warmer. The Etymotic has better midrange and high frequency response, more detail in these ranges. I use both with the Apple 60 and 80 GB players, and Simpl A1 and HeadRoom Total Bithead earphone amps. Don't waste your money on either of these expensive earphones unless you plan on adding an earphone amp.

5 out of 5 stars The best sound you can hear.......2006-08-22

These earphones are probably the best thing I have ever heard. The sound in clear and crisp. The notes, I never knew existed, seem alive and vibrant here. The noise isolation is terrific. These guys at Ety really know their stuff. I was on a trans-atlantic flight and these earphone kept the sounds of the engines to the bare minimum.
The only thing is that you need a headphone amplifier if you're listening to em on an iPod or personal musical device. The amp really lets you explore these earphones to their maximum potential.
So in conclusion, great earphones, probably the best in the market but you need an headphone amplifier to really utilize the potential of these earphones.

5 out of 5 stars I can't believe it!.......2005-08-29

I hate headphones and earphones. The music never sounded good or they bothered my ears, or they made my ears too hot, etc. I had to get something to keep things a little more quiet around the house, especially at night. After researching like a mad man, I decided to give these a chance. I bought them to connect to my computer.....I never thought I would be an Ipod person (more on that in a second). I like to listen to music while I am online, and did not want to wake up my wife or kids. These are just the thing. They really should be called ear speakers, because they sound amazing. The sound quality that you get is really good. I was amazed. I bought from a different source, only because of personal issues with J&R, they worked out to about the same price.....about $200. A steal! I like them so much that I am now researching what kind of mp3 player to buy......BECAUSE of these earspeakers! You do not have to have them very loud, and they block outside noise very well. My wife can talk to me from 2 feet away, and volume is not that high, andI need to remove one ear piece to hear what she is saying. After 5 minutes of first wearing them, I forgot I had them on. The carry pouch is a nice touch, as are the extra pieces. It is hard for me to judge the quality of materials, but everything seems good, and I am not afraid of breaking anything. Buy them and enjoy the music as I am. I am very happy with my purchase.....after using them for a while, I found something that others may not like. When properly placed, it feels like your ears are clogged....almost like when you get water in your ears. It is a strange feeling to get used to, but the sound is so good, that I quickly forget about it and am into the music (as I am right now). As far as breakage goes, well, sure they are delicate, they go into your ear canal. Treat them like a $200 set of earspeakers and you should have no problem with them......treat them like the headphones that you get on a plane and prepare for repairs. :-)

Peace,

Morley

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for Traveling.......2005-08-15

My primary purpose for these headphones was for superior portable fidelity. These headphones exceeded all expectations.

I have an Ipod which I have ripped my entire music collection using Apple Lossless format. Songs are quite large; typically 20Mb. But I cannot detect a difference.

I spend a lot of time in the air. The Apple ear buds are pretty good and I was fairly satisfied using them, especially in the office or hotel room. But in the planes, I'd have to turn up the volume to just shy of full volume to drown out the ambient noise and it still washed out the details.

I tried a friend's noise canceling headphones. It was an inexpensive pair (not the Bose). I could hear a small improvement. Not good enough.

I considered the Bose. But before trying them, I wasn't willing to carry bulky headphones and batteries. Batteries are also needed to listen without the noise cancellation activated.

So, after searching several Internet sites, I narrowed it down to Etymotic and Shure for:
- High fidelity
- SMALL package
- No batteries
- 30 decibel Noise Isolation through sealing (natural canceling)

I did not test either before buying. I leaned toward the Etymotic mostly based on reviewer comments. I like the option to be fitted with a custom ear canal adapter like a hearing aid for a perfect fit.

Likes
1. Small package. Fits in included 1.5" x 3" x .5" pouch.
2. Great noise reduction. I could only hear the person next to me talking if they spoke at normal levels a few inches from my ear in the plane. It seems to help cross country flights to reduce fatigue from the plane's noises.
3. Foam fitting seals the best in my small ear canals for best bass ambient noise reduction. Rubber fittings can be cleaned but are larger.
4. Sounds slightly better than my home system.
5. Efficiency. Because so much ambient noise was reduced, I only play my Ipod at just over half volume for normal listening. This translates into longer play time. The ER-6 version is even more efficient.

Dislikes
1. Cable Noise. Every time the thick cable touches something like rubbing across your shirt, you can hear it. It sounds similar to lighting rubbing your ear.
2. Too much noise canceling for some situations. I still carry my Apple ear buds for situations that I need to hear my environment around me like, walking on the street, in the office to hear the telephone or colleague, etc.

One other point mentioned by many other reviewers is the feeling of it inserted in your ear. It feels like an overstuffed Q-tip. Inserting far enough is essential for adequate bass and detail. I wasn't sure it I'd like it or not and it did concern me when some described inserting it a few millimeters from my ear drum in a review. It's not in quite that far. Only other option is high-end sealed over the ear headphones. But, they are bulky, hot and not conducive to abuse on the road.

Finally, ER4P or ER6. The ER6I is less expensive. But, the ER4P significantly outperforms the ER6 acoustically and through isolation. It also has an optional cable that converts it into the revered ER4S. I'm only going to buy one pair of head phones for home and away, so I chose the ER4. I've used them for about 4 weeks and will happily keep them.

5 out of 5 stars I really love these in ear buds.......2005-08-03

The sound range is fantastic. If you are looking for ear shaking booming bass, this is not for you. That being said the bass is there all the way down to about 10Hz. You just hear it and don't "feel" it. The Mids and His are exceptional; the sound is warm but tight. Sound Staging is what you would expect from in ear phones. The sound isolation is awesome, my bus ride to work in the morning is completely silent. Planes are quieted down to a very low rumble. Lastly, construction, these are very nice headphones and rightly so should not be thrown on the floor of you 1980 ford pickup and stepped on. I take them with me almost everywhere, they spend a good amount of time in my pocket or backpack without any case and I have had no problem with them in the 6 months I have had them.

All in all they are the best headphones I have every owned; given there size, sound, quality and especially sound isolation.

I would not hesitate to tell anyone to buy them.

    Product Description

Still the most powerful and expandable pocket PC, the Microsoft Windows-powered iPAQ Pocket PC 3835 takes Compaq's award-winning handheld to new extremes. Combine the longest battery life and fastest processor available with massive memory speeds and unprecedented storage capacity to take advantage of a wealth of new features. With thousands of available applications, a standard secure digital slot for internal upgrades and a number of external expansion pack options like wireless connectivity, there's no telling how far it'll take you.

    Amazon.com Review

For many, Compaq's iPAQs were the pick of the first round of Pocket PC releases. Now that Microsoft has released a new version of its Pocket PC operating system (Pocket PC 2002), the company's previous hardware partners have all updated their products and some new players have joined in. The net result is greater competition--so how does Compaq fare?

The new range of iPAQ is available in two versions. The iPAQ 3765 is much like the popular 3635 model, but has the new OS on board. The iPAQ 3835, our review unit, is similar in body, but adds a few extra features.

The 3835 is driven by Intel's fast StrongARM processor, which runs at 206 MHz, and is outfitted with a healthy 64 MB RAM. The Pocket PC 2002 OS itself is stored on the 32 MB flash ROM, so you should be able to easily install OS updates as they come along. The screen quality is superb and can show over 65,000 colors--a greater color depth than the 3765.

Most hardware expansion is provided via an optional CompactFlash expansion jacket, with CF cards and modules from previous iPAQs largely compatible with the iPAQ 3835. Note, however, that this does not carry through to hardware add-ons that use the docking port (such as keyboards), as the connector on the 3835 is different than on the 3635 or 3765.

Additionally, there is now a built-in expansion slot onboard that enables you to add both software and hardware to the iPAQ without the need for the CF expansion jacket. This slot is compatible with both Secure Digital (SD) and MultiMediaCard (MMC) memory cards.

The iPAQ's design and build quality are superb; this is still the best-looking Pocket PC around. The docking station is both USB and serial--this "one size fits all" approach is intelligent and user friendly. Data input has also been improved, including the ability to register more than one button press at a time, making speedy gaming possible as some light relief from all the serious work you can set the device to.

Overall, Compaq's new iPAQ 3835 beats the rest for looks and performance. The built-in SD/MMC expansion card slot is a plus, and the iPAQ becomes an even more powerful productivity machine with the addition of the optional CompactFlash jacket. --Sandra Vogel

The iPAQ 3835 features a built-in Secure Digital (SD) card slot for adding more memory and modules, from modems to cameras to GPS receivers. You can also add an optional expansion jacket for using CompactFlash cards.

With the enhancements and improvements in Microsoft's Pocket PC 2002 operating system, the iPAQ 3835 is even more powerful and easier to use. You'll get improved handwriting recognition, more reliable synchronization, increased security, and the ability to chat using MSN Messenger. It also features new Pocket versions of Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer.

Work hard, but play hard, too. The iPAQ 3835 can play digital audio files (both MP3 and WMA) using the Windows Media Player software. It's also compatible with audible.com files, for listening to audiobooks, radio broadcasts, and more. You also get the Microsoft Reader e-book software.

Other highlights include a microphone and a speaker as well as an audio-in jack. The iPAQ 3835 features an infrared port for wireless data transfer. It uses five buttons and a five-way joystick. The iPAQ connects to either USB or serial ports. The iPAQ allows you to input data in your own handwriting, by soft keyboard, or by voice recorder. Both audible and visual alarms alert you to a scheduled event.

At 5.3 by 3.3 by 0.62 inches, and weighing 6.7 ounces, the iPAQ 3835 is sporty and small, fitting in your hand or sliding into your pocket with ease. Compaq has also built in utilities, so that frequent actions--such as switching between tasks, adjusting volume, and changing backlighting--are only a click away.

The iPAQ 3835 has a built-in lithium rechargeable battery that gives up to 10 hours of battery life. It also comes with a docking cradle, AC adapter for battery charging, and a USB connection cable. Compaq offers a one-year warranty on parts and labor.

4 out of 5 stars Used can be just as good as new........2007-05-13

It took a while to receive the used iPAQ 3835 via mail. Although any packing materials that should have been used to protect the contents was missing from the roomy package, the PDA survived the trip. For a used PDA, the system works quite well and made the recipient a happy camper on his birthday. The device continues to work well as expected.

4 out of 5 stars Good unit, but poor battery, and no backup battery.........2005-12-25

A nice upgrade to the 1550 Aero PDA, but the battery has very short life, and the unit has no internal memory save battery - so it loses *everything* if the battery runs dowmn.

This is a major design flaw to me. If you are on the road and the battery runs down, you cannot just plug into the charger when you arrive, you have to have a computer with a full backup to restore all data. And even then you lose all new data.

A major issue, especially since my battery only lasted 4-5 days fully charged...

    1 out of 5 stars Dissapointing.......2005-07-19

I bought this product January last year and just throw it to the garbage bin yesterday.
It worked on me for two months before it continuously crashed.
It is also very difficult to listen to Windows media. I feel as if even though windows media is there, it really wasn't suppose to be there, because it's very difficult to get it to work.
I got this thing for 349$ at Best Buy and it's really lame.
Plus, all my phone directories in the internal drives are deleted when the battery is gone.
At first I tried to input all the data again only to be deleted on the next battery depletion.
I hope the faulty is only from machine to machine and not a systematic one, because if it does I feel sorry for all the users.
I don't know if other PDAs are better than this, but I think I am through with PDAs.

5 out of 5 stars Palm is but a distant memory.......2005-07-09

After about 6 months of having a refurbished Handspring Treo 90 (check out that review of mine too) I decided to try something new. I desperately wanted to an iPAQ which has windows built into it. How cool can you get by practically having a computer built right into your hands? Most of the ones that had just come out were much too expensive, and the newest one was a cell phone which didn't get too good of reviews on Amazon, not to mention, I already have a cell phone. Then I saw the Compaq iPAQ 3835, which immediately kicked my PDA lust up a notch.

After recieving it, it appeared to be exactly like the image. Looked large and was large. I'd say the Compaq iPAQ 3835 should be classified as a brick, but for people with big hands, it's probably the perfect fit. As for it's physical features, it may seem as if it's a little bulky, but is in fact pretty thin in width. The black hump at the top has a relocated speaker and SD card slot, unlike the older model 3650, which has the speaker at the bottom, but has no SD card slot. There are two slashes at the top that include one that flashes amber when charging, and the other flashes if you have bluetooth, but that's for the 3975 version. I wonder why I can't get it for the 3835.

Applications such as Word Perfect and Excel would seem a little strange for something you have to use a writing recognition with, but it's actually really easy with the iPAQ because you have a choice between a keyboard, and the handwriting recognition. I despise graffiti because of it's rediculous characters (mainly why I got the Treo 90 which has a built in keyboard) so I prefer the keyboard, but you still have to be constantly tapping at the screen with the stylus, but is so problem. This new stylus, which has a sort of hourglass shape goes into it's silo with no problem. When you want it to come out, you simply push on it, and it pops out. Now that's pretty cool.

Other applications you're used to like the Calender, Notes, To do list (aka Tasks), Calculator, and Today, all have the feel of you using it as a computer. Of course it's windows, but it doesn't feel cheesy using it at all. If you plan to pay for internet, you'll probably get your money's worth there, but don't plan on using it 24/7, because the battery life isn't awesome, but it's not bad either. That's the only flaw. You're getting your money's worth with the Compaq anyway. I'll recommend it to anyone on the go for long periods at a time. You're going to need it. I know I do.

5 out of 5 stars I've Had This For Over A Year And I Still Love It!!!.......2004-01-11

I looked online for hours to find an affordable PDA that would allow me to do everything I wanted. I'm a full time college student and I find I can take notes, set up appointments and have my schedule on demand. I have my tasks organized and get more accomplished. I can also pull up phone numbers and email addresses of friends, teachers, and even restaurants when my friends and I order out. Plus I can play games while waiting for my next class to start. It also synchronizes perfectly with my desktop computer's version of Microsoft Outlook. I can download maps to my PDA for trips with step-by-step driving directions. The PDA is light and I can carry it in my purse all the time without it weighing me down. The unit has held up great for the year and few months I've had it. I know that newer systems have come out since I bought this back in November of 2002, but if you find a new or used version of this PDA I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. I also bought, and would recommend, a zippered holder that is waterproof (I spill things on my nightstand a lot.) It also helps protect the unit if you drop it. The only other thing you might want is to buy the memory expansion card. It's only about $35 and it triples your memory. You'll find that you can fill up your memory a lot faster than you think. (I buy too many e-books from Amazon!) I really think this is a good PDA for a student or anyone else and I take mine with me everywhere.
