JBL 10" Subwoofer E150P.......2007-08-02
This Speaker seems to be no longer manufactured. As far as I can tell by the published specs. the JBL SUB 10 is its replacement. The grill is different. My E150P is well engineered and is very pleasing to listen to.
In my listening room ( 16'x12' with vaulted ceiling ) which is not set up for surround sound, the E150p really brings out a symphonic bass drum or a 32Hz organ pedal. For under $200 I believe you will be satisfied.
Good budget subwoofer from reputable manufacturer.......2007-02-23
This is a great sub for entry-level to mid-level systems, where you have some measure of control over the listening environment. Its construction quality is high, has sufficient power to provide a good listening experience in a small to moderate sized room, is tight, and is musical.
Because this is a ported design, it has a tendency to get boomy **IF** it is placed incorrectly, or tuned incorrectly, within a room. Put it in a corner where it is tuned to the resonant frequency of the floor and drywall in that corner, sure it can get pretty whoofy at that frequency. But, ANY similar sub from another manufacturer will display exactly the same traits -- it is a matter of physics, not a matter of whether this is a Hsu, SVS, or whatever. If boominess is an issue, place the sub away from the corner, or tune it appropriately with the crossover setting...
So, if you are looking for a reasonably priced sub from an outstanding manufacturer, an excellent line of speakers (the JBL Northridge series), and a speaker that delivers the goods without being pretentious, this might be a good choice to consider...
Below Average Performance, Excellent Looks.......2007-01-04
I was fairly new to HT when I bought the JBL E150P. Luckily, I had a reference point, a home theater in my living room that a full service HT installer put in. The reference point subwoofer is a Pinnacle AC Sub 100. It cost me about $400 and I have been very satisfied with it.
Anyway, I cheaped out, thinking JBL was a good name and the driver was the same size as the Pinnacle. Anyway, after comparing the JBL with the Pinnacle, I was pretty bummed out for a couple of months. I finally knew what the word "boomy" meant that everyone was using to describe certain cheap subwoofers. I tried to convince myself that it was a pretty good subwoofer. But I couldn't.
I couldn't take the cheap inferior boomy bass any longer, so 2 months later, I sold it the JBL. Since I bought it right ($159), I sold it in the original packaging on Amazon a couple of months later for $140. I considered it a very inexpensive lesson.
After a lot of research, I then decided to buy an HSU or SVS. I ended up buying a silver HSU STF-2 on Christmas sale for $319 plus shipping. Extremely pleased with the sound. Not as pleased with the look of the subwoofer, but it's passable. The sound is my main concern. The HSU is an outstanding music subwoofer, and very good movie subwoofer.
Don't buy the JBL E150P subwoofer.
Great for HT...not so good for music...It's all about the source..........2006-12-16
This sub does a good job for Home Theater in a small to medium sized room but for music it just doesn't go low enough. Would work better in a bedroom or a dorm. You'll only hear the difference if you're source is via digital coax or fiber optic cable. It does a decent job however for movies in Dolby D.
Bottom line, if you want a good sub for both music and movies in a medium to large sized room. You need at least a 12" 250 watt or better sub. I would recommend the JBL E250P instead if you really want deep bass to fill the room.

I needed to replace a pair of bookshelf speakers and decided to add the JBL E150P subwoofer to the order since the price was only $179 with free shipping.
This sub has made a significant improvement to the sound of my system adding full rich bass without booming. It is well built; solid in both construction and performance. I'm glad I added it to my order!

Great video camera only.......2004-05-08
This is a great "video camera" and a not so good digital still camera. If you are purchasing this "video camera" to use to shoot video then I will recommend this camera, but if you want a great digital still camera then purchas a separate digital still camera. The vast majority of "video cameras" are best used for video and not digital still photography. So once again buy this "video camera" for video and buy a digital still camera for digital photography.
Great Camera.......2002-01-25
I did a lot of research before buying. It is the best value in this class. Don't expect great snap shot quality from this camera and others in the same class. You need progressive scan and at least 1 mega pixel CCD for a good quality picture. That would put you into a totally different price range. Manufacturers advertise mega pixel camcorders pretty loudly and they are currently above $1200. The video quality is great (almost DVD) and low light sensitivity is good. I don't use special effect while filming so I can't comment. It does not record analog video. Manual says it records the DV but I have not tried it. Overall it is great for indoor/outdoor everyday filming even with my picky taste.
Great Video/Poor Still Photos.......2001-12-28
My husband gave me this camera for Christmas because he knew I really wanted a digital camera and I had expressed some interest in a camcorder as well...He figured this would do double-duty very well. I played with it all day Christmas day taking video and stills and was loving it. The video was awesome...very easy to use and of decent quality. Battery drained very quickly, but most do, so that wasn't a big deal. Close-up shots looked really good. The HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT came when I downloaded the still shots to my computer. They were of poor quality at best...colors not true and blurry even though all were taken at the highest resolution possible. I am returning the camera and exchanging it. I'm NOW told that most just don't have enough pixels to produce a good photo...Live and Learn! Good Luck...
Very good for the price.......2001-11-27
Its been 4 days since I bought this camera and I was able to get going in about 15 minutes (after charge ofcourse). I would have given this 5 stars if not for the quality of still pictures. But the still pictures are blurr even in the best of conditions. But I have a very good still camera, so I am not complaining...too much...
Every thing else is pretty good for the price...Since I am a first time owner, I am very happy with my decision.
Very easy to use.......2001-11-15
This camcorder far exceeded my expectations and is very easy and simple to use. The Mini-DV media is by far the highest quality and JVC offers Sony-like quality at an affordable price. The remote control feature makes playback very convenient. The media card allows for a quick transfer of digital still shots to your PC and ultimately to the WEB. The video allows for 1/60 second editing (firewire is recommended for this) as well as a variety of frame transitioning options. Very lightweight and easy to use. After many different purchases over the last 10 years, JVC has not let me down.
