5 out of 5 stars Great camera!.......2006-12-09

I love this camera! I've had it for over a year and would recomend it to anyone. I bought this camera after taking a backpacking trip with my friend and seeing the great shots her Easy Share took. I absolutly love it. I often take video of my 9 month old son because I don't have time to whip out the big camera. The video isn't super but it's fast and simple. I just use the Windows Camera Wizard to get all my photos off it so I've never used their software, but I've never had a problem. ::thumbs up::

2 out of 5 stars Camera = good; Software = horrible.......2006-11-15

I've had no problems with the camera itself, but the necessary Kodak software is so horrible, that it makes me avoid the camera too. The software makes it difficult to download select photos versus the entire collection on the camera. It also has skimpy editing features. I have to jump around from the Kodak software to a microsoft one and then another from a different website in order to get all the different changes I want in a picture.

5 out of 5 stars The Best $[...] I Ever Spent!.......2006-11-15

I bought this camera in April of 2005, and have used it for MANY pictures since (plus some video). I did a lot of research before buying, but really when it came down to it, I bought a brand I knew and it was cheap. Well I ended up with a great camera. I have 6 kids and scrapbook, so photo quality is very important to me and this camera has it. I use rechargeable batteries and they last a LONG time before needing recharged. Take it from a Mom that memories mean a lot to...this is a terrific camera! All of the lengthy good reviews on here are telling the truth. I heard a lot of bad things from "camera professionals" about Kodak, but I haven't seen any of what they said.

5 out of 5 stars Worlds best camera!.......2006-07-20

If I had to be stuck with one camera, this one would be it. I've owned it for a year and it's fantastic! What do you want for $150? This is a steal. It takes better pix than my friend's and family's cameras that are 2-3x more expensive.

PROS:
1. Battery life is unbelievable -- with lithium batteries it takes about 550 shots. Plus it will use rechargable ones as well.
2. Pictures are excellent - vivid, colorful, crisp.
3. Extremely easy to use.
4. Fast at reloading.
5. Great price.
6. Video feature is great, sound is decent.

CONS:
1. Cannot zoom while video recording.

    Customer Reviews:

    5 out of 5 stars I love this printer!.......2004-02-02

I recently bought this printer for home use from Tiger Direct and I absolutely love it. Granted, I only paid $149 though -- it was a steal.

The quality of the printing is excellent. And it has features that you won't find on printers with a similar price tag. It comes with 16 MB of RAM wheras others typically only had 2 to 8 MB (and ofter weren't even expandable). It has a faster processor. Combined, these two features make for faster printing as your computer's CPU doesn't get tied up trying to print.

The auto-duplexing feature is wonderful (prints on both sides of the paper). I can already see how much paper I am saving. None of the other printers in this price range had this option. Plus, I checked and the toner for the Panasonic runs about $5 cheaper than that of other brands. So, not only will you use less paper, but it will cost less to print each page. I also like the fact that the tray can hold legal size paper -- some cannot. And there is an easy-to-use manual feed option.

The printer also starts the first page pretty fast. I am used to using the expensive laser printers on the networks in the office. This printer actually gets the first page out faster than those machines that cost thousands of dollars.

Setup was a piece of cake. The toner goes in extremely easy. Do remember to buy a toner cartridge with the printer though as the industry standard is to only include a starter cartridge. I am still using it, but I don't know how much longer it will last for.

For $149 this was a no-brainer decision. Even at Amazon's higher price (they have free shipping though -- I pad about $20)this printer still seems like a great deal. And if you are trying to decide if you are willing to give up color printing, ask yourself how often you really print in color. If you do need it, buy this printer and a nice color inkjet. Then you won't have to switch cartridges again or waste the expensive color ink on a B&W page. And you can get an inkjet that is really good at color printing and not have to worry about how it prints in B&W.

    4 out of 5 stars I like it. I like it a lot........2003-12-03

I've read some negative reviews for this printer, and was really scared to buy it! The one review recommended a Brother printer for duplex printing, so I hunted around but couldn't find one.

Let me qualify this review first, I have printed less than 100 pages so far.

The setup worked fine for me on Windows XP. I tried printing 4 pages/side & double sized (so 8 pages/sheet). I had to see this funny duplex printing, and it is a bit funny, the paper comes out and goes back in (as another poster mentioned) But it seems to work and doesn't look gimmicky to me.

References to the print quality coming out grey aren't happening for me either. I just printed an Amazon web page with a lot of graphics on it and the blacks are black. Text is crisp. I like to print out technical manuals and code, and if it keeps performing as is, I will be very happy.

One negative I've noticed is that the paper does get a bit curly, especially in duplex because it puts it thru twice. But I can live with that, beats the hell out of the ink jets I've owned in the past.

5 out of 5 stars Affordable Duplexing + Great Print Quality.......2003-11-24

We had a choice between the Panasonic P-7105 or the HP LaserJet 1012. Nobody had toner anywhere for the 1012, and the 1012 didn't have duplex printing. We bought the P-7105 and I can say, I'm glad we did. It's blazing fast and it looks great. It's duplex is a little unusual though, the paper comes out of the feed slot, then retracts, then returns, printing on both sides of the paper.

I use this machine for just about everything. I've had it for a day now, and it's already printed 50 pages. I love it!

5 out of 5 stars Cheap and easy duplex printing.......2003-10-28

The printer set up very quickly and easily on a Netgear print server (this one can be shared on a network unlike it's sibling Kx-p7100). For a duplex printer it is very compact and doesn't need access around it or behind it. It prints duplex flawlessly and has a great feature that shrinks the pages down to 4 pages on a side or with the duplex 8 pages total on each page. It's a great way to save paper to review rough drafts. I did have an initially bad start when the printer was jamming all the time with 28lb laser paper; but after switching to cheaper 20lb copy paper it hasn't jammed once. A great value (I considered the cheapest HP duplex printer but it was almost twice as much and a lot bigger in size and I don't think it has the great shrink-down-to-4-pages-on-a-side feature).

    2 out of 5 stars Panasonic P7105 review.......2003-04-29

Before I purchased the Panasonic P7105 printer I reviewed Small Office Home Office (SOHO) printers made by Samsung, Hewlett Packard, Minolta, and Brother. My goal was to spend no more than $230. Though the printers in this category offered decent print quality there was one option they did not have and that was automatic duplex printing. The most affordable printer that offered this feature was the P7105, so I increased my spending limit accordingly. I was also pleased that the printer came with 16MB of RAM and the company offered a $20 (2000 page) toner refill kit. Affordable printers often make up the difference in original savings by killing you with higher prices on the consumables such as the drum and toner.

The printer did not set up very easily and I eventually went to their web site and downloaded the latest drivers. Once I was able to print I was very disappointed in the print quality. Even after ensuring that the toner save mode was off and the print quality was set to its highest setting, the print just seemed too gray and this was using 99+ bright white paper. The printer was noisy and the duplex feature was not smooth at all. The printer also had a memory problem and the uninstall did not work. When I called tech support they sent me to the Japanese web site to download a special uninstall program (which also crashed). The Tech also told me if the uninstall program did not work then to call back and be prepared to spend an hour on the phone cleaning up my system (their tech support is non toll free, so to fix their defective product you have to use your phone bill). They eventually told me to return the system. Even if I overlooked the memory problem, the printer was still of very poor quality. It felt cheap and flimsy. Since I could not find a local dealer who sold one, I brought it off the Internet site unseen. If you are considering this printer I would highly recommend trying to find one local so that you can see first hand the quality or lack there of. I eventually spent an additional $50 and purchased a Brother 1650 and the difference is day and night. If auto duplexing is not important then there are some good buys for under $200. If you need the duplexing feature then I would highly recommend the Brother 1650.

        2 out of 5 stars Worked for a while.......2004-06-25

This switch worked very well for a little under a year, then it started making hissing sounds, like bacon frying.. no kidding. It was still working well so I shrugged it off for the time being. About a month later it started acting up really badly, ports would randomly go offline, or only link up in 10mbit, whenn they are normally 100mbit. I tore the thing apart (bye bye warranty), and the main controller chip literally burned my finger upon touching it..! Being a hobbist hardware modder, I pried off the stock heatsink, and thermal epoxied a much bigger heatsink to the main controller chip. problems have not come back yet... Very bad long term build quality. Won't be buying a hawking product again..

        2 out of 5 stars Disappointing quality.......2004-01-06

This was a very cheap (in price and quality) switch. I also found that this switch got hot. In fact, it would sometimes give off a burning plastic smell. The ports would work intermitently, and my computers would not be able to see the network. It finally just went dead after about a year and a half.

4 out of 5 stars It works well, but a little bit hot.......2003-03-02

I really like the small size of this router,
and the fact that the cables attach from behind,
letting me view the leds while reducing the clutter.
It has been working well for me.
I also like, internally, that it has 1Mb (128KB per
port) of buffer space, and that any port can be
used as uplink, making it easier to install and
        more flexible.
        Only two very minor negatives.
First, the "blinking" of the leds when there is activity
is at constant rate, so it does not give you a good
        idea of the throughput.
Second, the switch runs a bit hot; will this
impact long-term reliability? It's too early
        to tell.

2 out of 5 stars Power supplies burned out.......2003-12-10

I bought two of these in the summer of 2002. One died a month ago; the second one died today. Both of them had burned-out AC adapters. This is just not acceptable; devices should last more than 18 months.

I would give it 1 star, except that I was so pleased with it when I got it; it was such a joy to have a switch that didn't care if I was using a crossover cable or not, and would connect to other switches as easily as to hosts. These days, though, that's a fairly common feature.

4 out of 5 stars cheap and effective.......2002-11-08

Hawking makes inexpensive network equipment. I own a 3 year old PCMCIA 10/100 NIC that's still going strong. 95% as fast a 3Com NIC, but at 25% of the price. I expect this switch to be just the same and so far have no problems with it.

4 out of 5 stars Two years and counting.......2007-01-11

Well, I guess I've had this guy for about 2 years now? I bought it on sale. And what a bargain it's turned out to be.

It scans: and I've been scanning a ton of my old photos from days gone by. It might be a little slower than I like, and the bed could be a little larger, and it's a bit noisy, but at least I don't have a separate scanner anymore.

It copies: Oh the convenience of having a small copier around when you need one. It even has the option of copying in either color or b/w. Of course, since it uses the scanner bed, all of the scanner comments apply.

It prints: Yes, it prints, and far better than my old printer - but then it really was old. The print quality is quite good. It has 3 quality options from Fast to Normal to High. And if you're using the right paper, the High is very good indeed.

Downside: The paper will on occasion not feed, occasionally enough to mention it here.

Upside: It comes with all kinds of photo processing software (most of which I don't use). It has a separate b/w and Color print head. That is convenient because if the color runs out it can run in b/w mode only (or visa versa).

Other things: It will tell you when your running low on ink, and even open a web page so you can order directly from HP.

Other than that, this is a perfect little Printer/Scanner/Copier for the home.

          1 out of 5 stars HP1209 = JUNK.......2006-12-20

The FUNCTIONS of this printer/copier/scanner are AWESOME, but the QUALITY is absolute GARBAGE. For about the first 6 months, this printer would handle envelope printing reasonably well, but after that printing envelopes is essentially impossible. The printer usually destroys 3-4 envelopes before it gets one that is marginally acceptable. Additionally frustrating is that - like many HP printers - there is no reasonable way to extract paper jams. Also, the software that comes with the printer is NOT user-friendly. Finally, after recently re-installing Windows XP, the HP driver software (unnecessarily) re-installs the printer drivers EVERY time the computer boots up; sometimes it re-installs the printer drivers at random times. This is VERY FRUSTRATING.

          1 out of 5 stars Absolute Trash.......2006-03-07

My mother-in-law and I both have one of these. It's absolute JUNK, and HP won't back it up. Try calling HP Customer Service for help...they CHARGE you for the call.

And this little contraption has been nothing but a nightmare.

Scanning function doesn't work without using the hideously-oversized HP software. I have never ONCE been able to use the actual scan button to scan something. I am forced to use the HP Director program (which is just terrible)...and now that I've tried to install it on my new pc, which runs on XP, it can't be recognized as a scanner at ALL. I have had nothing but frustration with this product.

I will never, EVER purchase an HP item again. The impertinence of a company that charges for access to a call-in customer service line to deal with a machine that does not now and has never worked properly just baffles me.

          2 out of 5 stars No Good.......2006-02-20

I've had this HP for a little over a year. It has given me so many problems. I finally gave up on it and bought a Canon Pixma. The HP is constantly jamming and giving me the message "printer cartridge cradle cannot move." The pages have never printed nicely from day one. Always very grainy. I worked with tech support to try and resolve the problem. They told me that it needed to be replaced, but they couldn't replace it without having a copy of the receipt (which I no longer had). Oh well... I do not recommend this thing to anyone!

1 out of 5 stars What a piece of junk.............2006-01-14

I hope HP reads this, The HPpsc1210 all-in-one is a terrible product. I have had it for 1yr, it doesn't print (only when it wants to), it jams, it's not good.
