The Lexmark Optra T610 laser printer offers great performance in a small workgroup setting. Affordably priced and user friendly with professional-style results, Lexmark's laser printer might be exactly what you were waiting for.The T610 prints at up to 15 pages per minute, with less than a 12-second wait for the first print. It prints with a clean resolution of 1200x1200 dpi on a wide variety of media. Media choices include plain paper, envelopes, cardstock, transparencies, and paper, vinyl or polyester labels. Paper is pulled from a 350-sheet capacity paper tray, and among the many optional features offered by Lexmark are 250-, 500-, or 2000-sheet input drawers that increase the overall paper capacity to 3350 sheets. An optional duplex unit will also allow you to make double-sided prints. The standard cartridge has an average output of 10, 000 pages, and the printer has an overall duty cycle of 65, 000 pages per month. The T610 supports Windows 95/98 and NT, OS/2, UNIX, Macintosh (optional), and DOS, and is compatible with PostScript 3 and Hewlett-Packard PCL6 emulations, as well as PPDS Migration Tool. Both Token Ring and Ethernet networking are available as options, and Lexmark also includes MarkVision network printer management software.

The Optra T610 is another in the fine series of laser printers from Lexmark. The distinctive boxy design makes it a bit taller than some units, but not quite as deep, and this can be a real plus in a cramped space (though some additional space for ventilation around the machine is essential). Given the printer's weight, it's remarkably easy to move around--again, an aspect of the smart design. Even getting it out of the box was a breeze. Lexmark gets bonus points in our book for utilizing Styrofoam packing blocks that are sensibly designed to allow the printer to slide easily out of the carton without needing an extra set of hands.
Setting up the printer took only about five minutes, including software installation. The toner cartridge loaded easily; there's virtually no way you could install it incorrectly. The operator panel displays a simple summary of what the printer is doing at all times, from simply being ready, to being out of paper. The paper tray can hold up to 350 sheets and the printer accepts up to three additional paper trays, upgrading to 500- and 2,000- sheet input drawers, an 85-envelope feeder, or a duplex unit.
The Optra T610 can print about 12 pages per minute with very few delays. If you experience a paper jam, as we did in testing, the front-opening design makes extracting the offending sheet a cinch. We experienced consistently good print quality, with nice saturation of blacks, and clean and even distribution of full-page photos. A further boon, and not merely for travelers but for all fans of international movies and music: you can set the player to read discs from global DVD Regions other than its default Region, Region 1 (North America). The rechargeable battery is good for an estimated 3 to 4 hours of use between charges and a total of about 300 charges. Built-in stereo speakers give you a choice of listening through the device itself, through headphones (not supplied), or through your home system (when connected). You can watch with a companion while you're out, too, as the player offers not just one but two .125-inch headphone jacks.

I purchased this portable DVD player after buying the COBY tablet style. This one broke after our first trip with it, something about the "eye" not working to read the DVD's. I was really disappointed since you are able to find cheaper models with the same features that will probably last longer. Definitely won't buy Polaroid again.
Swivel screen not durable!.......2004-07-03
The swivel SCREEN BROKE after approx. 20 uses. It seemed very stiff to open from day one and I was worried that it would not last long-term, unfortunately it broke after only 3 months of minimal use. The case for the screen cracked at the swivel mechanism and now the screen does not stay open on its own. I can still view the screen if I hold it open or watch it through my TV, defeating the intended purpose of the "portable" player. In addition, the lid for the actual DVD does not stay shut easily, it will pop back open. Each time you press to close the lid the DVD re-starts.
Very poor quality........2004-05-21
DVD lid would not stay closed tight enough. DVD would restart every time the unit was touched. Couldn't watch a movie for more than a few minutes without it starting over. Too much money to have to use duct tape to hold the lid shut!
Can we really change region.......2004-01-30

I want to buy the PDV-0750 for my kids (and also for me...). I have many region 1 DVD and many region 2. I really need to know if this player allow the user to change region code or not.
I know that PDV-0700 and 0800 can do that but they are only NTSC. The PDV-0750 can manage PAL and NTSC. I know that player got a very good picture and sound, that why, so far, I really want to buy this one but only if we can change region code. Thanks for your help. i recently purchased this product on a trip to canada, having read that it was easy to change the region codes, i brought it home to australia and attempted to do so, but unfortunately am unable to watch any dvd's fom here. I have read the manual a thousand times and its just too vague. once you have pushed the set up button and scrolled to the far right title of "preferences" the manual says to enter the code 1369 and then simply use the up and down arrows to change the region. BUT there is nowhere to enter the 1369 in the preference section i have tried everything, can someone please tell me where i am going wrong! Other than this the product has been excellent! Thanks
