5 out of 5 stars Good sound, good headphones.......2007-04-11

I wore 'em till they wore out. Definitely my favorite style of headphones. These had good sound that lasted until the end (over a year--good for cheap headphones). The speakers lasted just as long as the foam padding, but did give out after repeated volume-at-11 listenings.

    1 out of 5 stars SHIPPING!.......2005-05-28

I wanted to buy 6 pair of Labtec earphones because I think they are the best and I can't get them around here. Total, $30. Good price right! Well the shippihg is $30. as well. WHAT A RIP! For that they can keep them. Talk about highway robbery!!

5 out of 5 stars Completely Great Headphones. Period.......2005-03-14

First off, I'd like to address the issue of comfort. These headphones, at first, were a pain to use. BUT! It didn't take long for Common Sense to come knocking at my door. Just bend the part that sticks to your ear a bit. Otherwise, yes, they do pinch a tad, but a week later, I found myself getting used to the small amount of pain these headphones gave after a slight modification.

Sound quality... oh God. These are undoubtedly the best quality headphones I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. I've been a musician for a while now, and I have a very good ear. I compared these with my friend's pair of 60 dollar headphones and noticed no difference. (Except of course, his were cups, so it eliminated ambient noise, and they were much quieter as well, which, if you're like me and love metal, is not a good thing.)

I recommend these headphones to anyone. I love 'em! For the low price, how can you go wrong?

    4 out of 5 stars Not bad............2004-03-20

I LOVE these headphones, for me the sound Quality was great and they got pretty loud w/out gettings distortions, and the pain, i guess is based on the individual.....
My ears only hurt after wearing them for more than 1-2 hours straight......
i've had them for about 3-5 years(cant remember) and the Right headphone is now going bad.....(well, i also used them ALOT..)
well, for the $5 i spent on them, they were awesome and am very glad that they still actually have them.....

5 out of 5 stars I own at least 6!.......2003-04-18

I can't stand headphones that go over your head, wrecks the hairdo, don't ya know. Whenever I find a product I like and it is time to replace it...the manufacturer has, 99% of the time, stopped making it. When I found these headphones I immediately ordered 10 sets. I since have given away 4 to very good friends that were envious of them. Raytheon is collecting items for our troops serving in Iraq and recovering in hospitals in Germany. I love these headphones and am taking the risk I can replenish my stash and have donated the 6 sets. I think they will enjoy them as much as I have and they sure deserve it, and more.

            Product Description

Konica Minolta intends to be a company that constantly brings new surprises to customers, through its unique and innovative products and services, by mobilizing its broad technological capabilities in the field of imaging.

            Amazon.com Product Description

The compact Minolta Freedom Supreme provides a powerful 3.2x retractable zoom lens. It uses a highly sophisticated autofocus system with up to 780 focusing steps--a feature usually found only in higher-end single-lens reflex cameras. The camera body is designed to form a distinctive capsule and is covered with a high-gloss silver tone for a high-quality appearance and durability. A rubber patch is positioned on the grip for comfortable handling. The design of this camera and its multiple automatic features make it easy to use for the amateur who wants the high-quality pictures of a professional.

The 39-125mm zoom lens offers a wide angle of view and is ideal for scenic landscapes or groups of people as well as distant subjects or portraits. The four-element lens design with four aspherical surfaces minimizes optical aberrations and provides high-contrast images. The Freedom Supreme's metering system is linked optically to the viewfinder so that at any focal length the camera meters the same image that the photographer sees.

The Freedom Supreme has standard point-and-shoot capabilities but also offers close-up, portrait, and night portrait options. The lens fixes focusing for subject magnification so you have optimum sharpness for close-ups. The camera also automatically sets a soft flash for close-ups to prevent overexposed pictures. When you press the shutter-release button partway down in portrait mode, the lens automatically zooms to provide 1/40x magnification. If you are fond of sunset shots or lighted night scenes, you can set the camera flash to manual fill with optional red-eye reduction.

A 10-second self-timer allows the photographer to appear in the photos. If you want to catch the action of a sporting event or a quickly moving subject, the Freedom Supreme offers continuous film advance--one frame every two seconds--for as long as the shutter-release button is held down. Its date/time imprinting option is useful for cataloging or keeping records of special events such as weddings, birthdays, or graduations.

            5 out of 5 stars a camera for lady.......2000-06-14

it is a veryn small camera. it has got the maximum zoom in compact size cameras. i found most of systems required at this moment.

i am sure if it is prices properly it may boost sale of minolta in this segment.

at this moment other camera were doing good but with all the features and 150 zoom it is fantastic

i still feel if any camera with 28 or 32 can come in place of 38 that can do wonders with 150 at higher side.

5 out of 5 stars best little 35 mm camera.......2003-02-28

This is my second time i have bought this camera. The other camera unfortunately got smashed by a car. I just loved the camera so much i had to buy another one. I have taken some photography courses and some of the pictures i took with my minotla SLR do compare to the freedom zoom ex. It's a great little camera with lots of features that anyone can use. I highly recomend this camera to anyone looking for a good compact 35 mm camera.

            3 out of 5 stars Paradox.......2002-10-31

This camera has excellent reviews on the internet. However, if the camera is so good how come no one seems to be selling any new ones? I have visited several camera shops & they are not familiar with it & don't carry any in stock. I couldn't find a new one on the internet either. All I could find was a used one & a refurbished one on the internet. What is the deal with these cameras?

5 out of 5 stars Best camera ...........2000-05-31

I used lot of cameras including Canon Rebel 2000 SLR camera....but i never got the results like Minolta supreme zoom...the best things the results are real good even in night and under bulb light....

5 out of 5 stars Loaded with features!.......2000-05-17

The Minolta Freedom Zoom EX is a well designed camera with a significant number of features. Not only are the features numerous, but they are incorporated intelligently into a liquid crystal display that uses simple pictures that are easy to understand and remember. The instruction manual is concise and written with the not-so-expert photographer in mind. It even has sample photos to illustrate its points. Among the camera's more interesting features are the portrait and night portrait modes. Portrait mode will actually properly frame your subject for a well balanced picture. In night portrait mode, the camera will adjust its aperture and exposure length to capture a dark background while firing its flash to illuminate the foreground. I tried it at Disneyland and it works well. The included remote control is a great bonus that allows one to take those holiday pictures without scurrying around. Finally, the zoom is more than adequate for normal picture taking. In fact, while taking pictures at the Grand Canyon I was able to examine the Colorado River from the South Rim! It's also great if you are one of those freaks who likes to take pictures of people's nostrils. I highly recommend this camera to someone who wants a camera that will do a lot of cool things without having to take a course.

The picture quality is superb. The features are easy to use. Our first set of pics looked studio quality.

5 out of 5 stars Lots of options and easy to use.......2006-08-25

I've played with this camera a few weeks now and the zoom is great. It has various scenes to choose from to help you take pictures in different settings, lighting, scenery, etc. and it works very nicely. I haven't installed the software, but loading pictures to my computer is very easy. The battery seems a little high maintenance, but its just a matter of not storing it inside the camera. Overall, its a nice, easy to use camera for snapshots for novices, and the extra zoom makes it all the better.

5 out of 5 stars amateur nature photographer.......2006-06-03

I do a lot of hiking and was looking for something lighter weight than an SLR that would still allow me to take telephoto and macro shots. This camera is the smallest and lightest one I found that has a 8X or higher zoom. I have taken very sharp telephoto photos of wildlife and macro shots of flowers that people thought were taken with a high-end camera. This camera does well with conventional landscapes and indoor flash snapshots. The menu controls are very easy to use and there are enough presets for special situations to compensate for lack of manual controls. However, if you mostly take snapshots that do not require 8X zoom, I would look to other models. While, this is small for a long zoom camera, it is still too big to easily fit in a pocket or purse.

The primary flaws of this camera: It is only 4 megapixels. The battery charger failed and had to be replaced about 18 months after purchase (This was particularly a problem since the camera takes a propietary battery rather than AAs). The delay in taking pictures is longer than many competitors. Occasionally the lens cap does not open completely (easily fixed if you notice it before snapping your picture).

5 out of 5 stars GOOD MONEY SPENT.. FINALLY!.......2006-03-27

I had a HP that took okay pictures but close-ups were blurry. I tried the Kodak Easy Share. The pictures were "okay" but it took a very long time to transfer them. Close ups were a little blurry.
Deceiding that Kodak was not a wise choice. It was then I recalled the best photos I have ever taken were with a Nikon Pictures that looked as good and some even better than
postcards. Seriously! I ventured out one more time to buy a digital camera I would try one more. Thankfully, Nikon stopped my camera blues. This camera has alot of great features. It works great on small items like jewelry. I am very happy with
the quality. Although it is a little bigger than the other two
digitals I bought, I do not mind. If you are not concerned with quality and want a camera that will fit in your pocket then buy HP or Kodak. Do you want Sharp vibrant pictures? If, yes.
            Here is your answer.

1 out of 5 stars Automatic lens cover problems galore!.......2006-02-25

My ownership of this camera was brief. First, you must know I love Nikon. I have 2 other Nikons--an old Cooplix 2200 and a Coolpix 5700. They have wonderful lenses and give great pix. I thought my experience with this model would be similar. NOT!~ From picture numero uno, the lens cover refused to completely open and cooperate. I got pictures, yes, but they had lazy black eyelids on each corner where the lens cover had not opened up to clear the lens. What a dissappointment! I traded it in for a Canon A520 and am happy with that camera. I suppose it is just what it is. If I'd saved and spent a lot more money on a D50 or Rebel, who knows? Anyway, that is my sad tale with the Nikon 4800.

4 out of 5 stars Very Nice Camera But Do Not Over-Pay.......2006-12-30

I've had this camera for over a year and like it a lot. It is a bit larger than a compact but it is comfortable and has a good zoom. It works for less experienced shooters so it can be set for almost "point and shoot". I set it on all auto and my wife (who not that good with this stuff) can come back with 95% good shots. It has some "framing" features for the novice, but heck the novice won't figure out how to use that. Anyway nice pictures and all but it is the end of 2006 and this camera is kind of old technology. Don't get me wrong it's nice and I'm keeping mine, I like the zoom but 4MP is minimal today. I just went to pick up a camera for my mother and "today" if you are going to spend $200 you can get a better camera hands down. Go to "Steves Digital Camera" and read up on different cameras. Again a great camera but IMHO if you pay more than $150 for it "Brand New" you are cheating yourself. I picked up a Canon SureShot with 6MP for less than $180 so just do your homework as this camera can be had much cheaper.

            1 out of 5 stars dead battery.......2006-11-14

Camera arrived with a battery that would not hold a charge. I sent it back for a refund. Never got to use it.

            5 out of 5 stars A Real Find!.......2006-11-10

I purchased this camera to record a golf trip in Ireland. The zoom allowed me to frame golfers against some wonderful landscapes. There was not one shot - taken inside or outside in all kinds of weather and light conditions - that was a dissapointment!

            5 out of 5 stars Picture Perfect!.......2006-09-20

I have previously owned a Samsung Digimax UCA-3 and found the pictures to be less than acceptable and the battery life short, at best. I saw this camera and being familiar with Nikon (I own a Nikon FE SLR) I decided to take a chance. WOW! This camera takes great pictures, the colors are crisp, the image definition is great and the zoom is better than any other digital camera I have used. I also bought 1GB card which I really recommend as the amount of memory of the internal card is limited and the 1GB card can hold up to 1,000 pictures.

This is a great buy even if it is reconditioned. You will consider it money well spent.

            5 out of 5 stars Excellent, easy-to-use camera.......2006-08-25

I bought this camera in preparation for a 4-month trip to Europe, and it has served me very well. The picture quality is excellent, the zoom is amazing, the battery life is good (I've never had it run out on me, and I usually use the camera all day and recharge at night) and the camera is very easy to use. My only minor complaints are that when the flash is off, pictures often come out blurry. But that's it! Otherwise, it's a great camera, and well worth the money.

Definitely buy a memory card and memory card reader with it, though, as the internal memory is not very large at all. I bought a 512MB memory card, and I can fit nearly 500 pictures on there.

5 out of 5 stars A wonderful Nikon value! Crisp, sharp photos!.......2005-03-15

It used to be you had to save your pennies and dimes to buy a Nikon camera. I purchased this camera a couple of years ago and it was priced a lot higher than it is now. I've owned Pentax 35 mm cameras, Minolta and an earlier Nikon point and shoot from around 1990. This one is one of the best as far as quality and clarity of photos I've ever owned. Nikon has always had excellent lens, perhaps among the finest in the world. I publish a historical magazine which requires sometimes that I shoot photos of current buildings, homes and autos for ads or articles and I have never been dissapointed with the sharpness and clarity of these photos. I have not taken photos at night, but I feel that there is a slight delay in the shutter in poor light. But for a basic clear shot of a subject, the quality is hard to beat. I've used Kodak HD film and Fuji film and found the Kodak HD film to be incredibly sharp. The camera is very light and can fit inside a coat pocket or shirt pocket. How can you go wrong with a camera this inexpensive and with such good quality. Highly recommended!

2 out of 5 stars Very fuzzy closeups!!!.......2004-07-11

I bought this camera for my daughter for her baby shower and am very disappointed. It is not up to par for the Nikon name. Point and shoot quality very nice, BUT any close shots taken were very fuzzy!!! Not good when shooting pictures of a newborn baby! Every roll developed had poor quality pictures of her.

            3 out of 5 stars Not Satisfied.......2004-07-07

My Canon Sure Shot was the best camera I ever had. After a few years, the flash wouldnt recharge. I purchased the Nikon based on the new lenses claiming high clearity. I havent seen the clearity. Delays from the focus feature is another disappointment. If given the choice again, I would purchase the Canon Sure Shot and pay the difference.

3 out of 5 stars Update on this camera.......2004-06-28

Ok, I took this camera to Key West and Mexico and found that the quality of my photos were "OK" meaning they weren't exceptional like my old Nikon Zoom Touch. The pictures weren't as clear as Nikon quality is. Even though I had used the HD Kodak film. I'm still on my regular role of Kodak 400 film, so I will update again. Usually with high end cameras you get high quality photos and crisp pictures but not with Kodak HD film in this camera. The pictures were grainy and not sharp quality, but... it might be the film I used on my trip so you'll have to wait for and update.

5 out of 5 stars Great, compact, point and shoot.......2004-03-09

I tried the Pentax 130, the Canon 115u, an Olympus Stylus 120 all with the same result... a trip back to the store with a camera to return. The Pentax took great pictures, but had horrendous red-eye issues. The Canon had red-eye issues and the pictures seemed dark and underexposed. The Olympus Stylus was nice, did not have red-eye problems, but too many of the photos came out fuzzy and seemed slightly out of focus. And to be fair I developed the photos from all of the above at the same place. Since I liked the Olympus, but wasn't pleased with the results, I bought the Nikon Lite Touch 130, which has a similar body style to the Olympus with the sliding front cover and pop-up flash. The pictures I took with the Nikon Lite Touch 130 were very clear and in focus, had minimal to no red-eye, and were the most color-accurate of any of the cameras I tried. The photos I took with the zoom also turned out great. Note: using zoom over about 90mm on distant subjects will probably produce somewhat grainier photos unless you use a tripod and at least 800 speed film. The main reason I like a higher zoom is so you can zoom in on a subject which is fairly close and in focus, while at the same time achieving a blurred background effect. Also, to be fair all these little point and shoot cameras have a fairly long delay before the picture is taken for two reasons: ONE - It takes a moment for the camera to focus on the subject, and TWO - if you use the red eye reducer at all, it takes another moment for the red eye reducer to activate before the picture snaps. I am a perfectionist and know what I want to see. I'm finally seeing it with this camera. The Nikon Lite Touch line is a little more spendy than comparable brands, but well worth the money in my opinion. I would highly recommend any of the Nikon line, particularily the Lite Touch 130 and Lite Touch 150, for their superb optics, focusing cababilities, and accurate color matching.
