Product Description
Kodachrome 64 is considered to be the classic film sought by most photojournalists for high-resolution color slides with optimal color saturation. Formulated for best suitability for advertising, medical, editorial, travel, and nature applications.
Amazon.com Product Description
Kodak Kodachrome 64 film works well for general-use photography, including outdoor, travel, and nature shots. Though this film is intended for exposure with daylight or an electronic flash, it can also be exposed to tungsten illumination (3,200 K) when using filters. Color prints, enlargements, duplicate slides, internegatives, and photo CDs can be made from the original slides. This slide film requires a special developing process that is not available at all photo-processing centers.
Customer Reviews:
beware lower price from Adorama - it's "short dated" film!!!!.......2007-05-13
Others have already given wonderful reviews for the product itself. I'm posting this as it seems the only way to alert you that when Adorama has a price that's several dollars less than anyone else (as they do at the moment I'm writing this, with a price of under $5), it's because what they're selling off is "short dated film". You can see that by doing to Adorama's own website; the "short dated" K64 that have there is the only (non-pro) K64 that you can find on their site, and it's similarly highly reduced in price.
At this moment, their "short dated" film is shown as expiring 5/2007. Now, they've kept in freezers, so if you at least refrigirate it (until you use it), you can use it somewhat beyond it's expiration date. Still, I feel you should know when you're getting "short dated" film, and apparently Amazon's setup with Adoroma doesn't support making that clear.
Still the standard by which all photos are judged..........2006-09-03
I've been shooting Kodachrome 64 since about 1983, so I guess that I'm a fairly "new" user. When I first became addicted to the 35mm SLR photography hobby, I started out with prints, just like everybody else. Since I wasn't doing my own darkroom work, I quickly became disenchanted with the wide variance of quality and color reproduction that prints offered. Have you ever tried to take a properly exposed picture of a night scene with a moon in the background, and then have it printed so that it doesn't come out looking like a light bulb in a gray soup? You know what I'm talking about. Plus, I was displeased with the resolution that prints seemed to offer.
After hearing and reading about Kodachrome 64, I tried a roll of it, and I haven't looked back. Like others here, I was absolutely flabbergasted at the fine grain, detail, and color saturation that I saw. This is what photography is all about. This film allows a photographer to truly stretch his limits and try to develop his skills to their fullest potential. When he does things right, he is richly rewarded by what he sees. I have Kodachrome 64 slides in my library that I will cherish until the day that I die.
While I've also gone digital within the past few years, I keep my Nikon gear and some Kodachrome 64 on hand for those, "I really want to keep this and have it turn out great" shots. Plus, there's still something reassuring about having a moment in time that I can hold in my hand, rather than trapped inside a computer as a bunch of 1's and 0's.
I hope that they never stop making this film.
Still brilliant after all these years........2006-01-21
The only photograph more brilliant and realistic than a Kodachrome slide is a Kodachrome stereo ["3-D"] slide. I have some that my grandfather took with his Stereo Realist in the 1950s, and they look as if they were taken yesterday. I once showed one to a friend for the first time, who exclaimed "It looks REAL, and you want to BE there!" You really do sometimes get the feeling that you could step into the scene, and look around.
I'm glad to hear that reports of Kodachrome's death were premature -- I'm not yet ready to put my Stereo Realist on the shelf for the last time. At the date of this writing, Dwayne's Photo is "the only remaining Kodak certified Kodachrome film processor in the U.S.," but there may be other "un-certified" labs still hanging on. Back when Kodak developed Kodachrome, you could also get it developed elsewhere. Somebody said "try Wal*Mart," but I haven't yet. I learned that Kodak PK-24 and PK-36 processing mailers are still available, which it is thought just go to Dwayne's Photo, but they might save you from having to pay Dwayne's hefty per-order shipping fee if you're just sending in one roll at a time. I've heard that processing by mailer can take much longer than film sent directly to Dwayne's, possibly because it has to go all the way to the address printed on the mailer before being sent to Dwayne's, who also might give priority to direct orders. Keep shooting that Kodachrome while you still can!
Kodachrome: Still the Best.......2005-06-24
I can't add much more to the reviews posted here, but I just wanted to say that I shot my first rolls of Kodachrome film last week and the slides I got back, frankly, just blew me away. The tonal gradation, the detail and resolution, the color--if you haven't seen Kodachrome, you just haven't seen anything. DIGITAL CANNOT COMPARE--digital's not even close, not by a mile. Other slide films are a completely different animal and do not compare. My father has fifty year old Kodachrome slides that he took while stationed in Japan and they look like they came back from the photo lab today. When you see images taken fifty years ago in such living color, the effect is earth shattering. You don't go back in time--the past moves into the present. It's really unbelievable.
Lastly, about processing: You can't review Kodachrome anymore without also reviewing Dwayne's Photo in Kansas, since they're the only lab that processes Kodachrome in the US. I put my film in a 1:00pm collection mailbox on a Tuesday and my slides were back to me, delivered right to my door by Friday. To me, this is more convenient than a one hour lab because I don't have to go anywhere. The mailbox is right across the street and my mailbox is at the front door. Sure, you can't drop it off at the drug store and come and get it in an hour. But how many times do you leave your prints at the one hour place for days or weeks because you can't find time to get there or you just don't feel like going there? How many times do you go to the one hour place and they tell you that you can't get your film until the next day? The next day becomes the next, and so on.
Dwayne's convenient mail service assures that you will get your Kodachrome slides back with minimum hassle. Just put the film in an envelope with the order form and payment (Dwayne's also takes credit cards of course) and a couple of days later the slides are waiting for you in your own mail box. It's great. In fact, I was so impressed with Dwayne's service, that I now send all my film there, not just Kodachrome.
Everyone should try Kodachrome and Dwayne's. The results will just astound you.
Incredible sharpness & rich, long lasting color!.......2004-12-13
Hi there, I am 25 years old photographer and a relatively new Kodachrome user. My interest in this unique color slide film comes from the fact that I discovered boxes of my great grand father's Kodachrome slides that still look like they were shot yesterday. It was an incredible discovery that started it all. Then, I bought a roll of film, took pictures, sent it to the Kodachrome processing lab (Dwayne's Photo in Kansas). When I got the film back I was really impressed of what I saw. My slides are sharp with very beautiful color. The Kodachrome's blue sky is the most beautiful blue sky I have ever seen. The reds are so deep and vibrant and , oh.. those yellows! They're colors to die for! I also discover that this film produces the most realistic skin tones than other slide films I have ever worked with. In conclusion, this is a legendary film that Kodak Company should be proud of. Cheers!

ASIN: B00009R6QE |
Product Description
XP2 SUPER is a sharp, fast, fine grain black and white film. It can be used for any photographic subject, but ensures excellent results when there is a wide subject brightness range. XP2 SUPER has improved exposure latitude compared with XP2, and gives exceptionally sharp, crisp prints. The excellent highlights and improved shadows of XP2 SUPER give enhanced negative contrast for optimum black and white print quality. XP2 SUPER is easy to expose, and has extremely wide exposure latitude. XP2 SUPER is easy to process. It is a black and white film which is processed in C41 type processing chemicals alongside color negative films. XP2 SUPER is very easy to print. Negatives are printed on black and white paper in the same way as conventional black and white negatives.XP2 SUPER is a chromogenic film. This means that the dyes which make up the image are formed during development rather than being present in the film or added later. The extremely wide exposure latitude of XP2 SUPER is the result of the unique relationship between exposure and grain in chromogenic films. The best balance of sharpness and grain is obtained when XP2 SUPER is exposed at EI 400/27. However, down-rated or overexposed XP2 SUPER negatives have finer grain, the opposite of that expected and obtained with conventional films. Up-rated or underexposed XP2 SUPER negatives have only a slight loss in quality. Furthermore, standard C41 processing is recommended for the whole of the exposure range.XP

Use Nikon's wide-angle, fish-eye or telephoto lenses to add special effects. Flash memory can store up to 200 images, and saves them in either TIFF or one of three JPEG modes. Compact design lets you take cool pics, anywhere. This camera is supplied with NikonView Version 2.5 software.
Amazon.com Product Description
Nikon first brought 2-megapixel quality to the consumer price range with the Coolpix 950; the Nikon Coolpix 800 digital camera continues Nikon's professional legacy at an even more affordable price point. With a 2.11-million-pixel, 0.5-inch CCD and a maximum resolution of 1,600 x 1,200, the Coolpix 800 gives you topnotch picture quality and a wide array of advanced features. It lets you save images in an uncompressed TIFF format plus three JPEG compression modes, with two resolution choices. It sports a 2x Zoom-Nikkor lens and a 1.25 to 2.5x digital zoom; you can shoot subjects as close as 2.8 inches away with the Macro setting.
The Nikon Coolpix 800's autofocus is truly impressive--it uses 480 steps for incredibly accuracy. The camera also offers 256-element matrix, spot, and center-weighted exposure modes. The built-in Speedlight flash includes auto flash, flash cancel, fill flash, slow sync, and red-eye reduction modes. Battery life is also a winner--even with the LCD turned on, the Nikon Coolpix 800 offers a battery life of approximately 100 minutes using four AA alkaline batteries. It ships with an industry standard 8 MB Nikon CompactFlash memory card, which stores up to 200 images, depending on image size; you can buy optional CompactFlash cards with up to 64 MB of memory.

2.1mp that won't disappoint.......2005-01-17
Amazing, this was an expensive high quality camera just under Nikon's best 950 digital back in 1999! However, this Nikon 800 still takes pictures that will match or exceed the best cameras in the market today thanks to its original build quality internals which were not skimped on plus the all glass 2x optical zoom (38 to 76mm equivalent)f/3.5-4.8 Nikkor lens. ..it's virtually a steal at todays price and nothing today takes better pictures in it's class. Oh,did I mention it fits in pocket like a hand. :)

a step up from the tiny point-and-shoot.......2003-11-17
this is the first serious digital camera i got, and i've been pretty hapy with it. great macro, decent zoom, and fair response time. the other complaints you hear, including how it chews batteries and the like, are generally true. still, given a pocket full of batteries, i'd take this with me when i go places.
my biggest complaint is the size, it doesn't travel super well (i like to keep my hands free, i'm forgetful and often misplace things). i like to stick my camera in my pocket, and it just doesn't fit.
still, its plusses make it a decent camera. i'd check out some of the newer coolpix cameras if you were buying new and had the budget for it, they're a great line.
no zoom.......2002-12-11
This camera takes wonderful pictures but the zoom doesn't do the job. its no good for taking pictures of your child playing football but its great for pictures on a trip. be careful the lag between pushing the shutter and taking the picture is long as well as the time between pics at high quality.
Great Camera !!.......2002-12-05
I have been using this camera for about two years now. It takes great pictures and I have taken hundreds of pictures of my Grandchildren and made slideshows on Cds for them. I would absolutely buy this camera again. (I dont like the loose lens cap but I would not deduct a point for that.)
Decent camera...that's about it.......2002-09-26
I bought one of these when they came out. The first problem was the batteries. It ate them like no tomorrow. I ordered two sets of rechargeables and that fixed that. Then I bought a card reader to transfer pictures, and that really helped...until...I accidentally dropped it (not that hard) and it broke. ... It worked fine when I got it back.
My other problem is the fragility of it. It's extremely fragile. I like the camera but would not purchase it again because of this.

Customer Reviews:
Useless VPN feature.......2007-07-02
I already have 2 Linksys wireless routers and they work great (a no-brainer, like every electronic should be on its basic funtionality).
With this unit I can't make it even FIND the device when trying to configure it for the VPN feature (which is the only reason I bought it for).
I suggest Linksys to have JUST ONE of their engineers to post a troubleshooting guide (a serious one) for this product.
I don't mind spending on a good product, but I also don't like spending a lot of money for a product that gives you the same as a cheaper one (happens all the time).
I hope I find a VPN Router that satisfies my needs. This one goes to the trash!
Very poor support from Linksys.......2006-11-24
I had an issue with my VoIP device connecting after the unit was installed for about 2 months.. I contact Linksys and after a number of interactions they acknowledged that the unit was defective. They sent me a refurbished unit (putting a hold on my credit card for 50% more than I paid for the original new unit and threaten to bill me if the unit wasn't returned within 5 days) That unit didn't work either. I contacted Linksys support and they asked me to contact their support number again.. They said that they would have a "senior" support tech speak to me then.. I noted that I had spent many hours working through this issue and had assumed that their senior support personnel had been involved. They responded that it was only a level 1 support person who had guided me through the initial troubleshooting and replacement.. I could not waste anymore time and I will not buy another Linksys product (I have bought Linksys products exclusively for the last 9 years.) I purchased another vendors product..
A lot of extremes from Linksys.......2006-11-07
We have been using this router for 1-1/2 years now and the hardware is flawless.
The setup requires someone with and IT background.
We could not upgrade the firmware above version 2.38.6 or the Quickvpn software would not function.
As for the Quickvpn software, Linksys needs to support it better.
The windows "hosts" file needs to be updated and security firewall settings must be set correctly.
Once done, the system works well.
Has to be one of the worst products on the market!.......2006-10-26
This router has to be one of the worst made products on the market, and has the poor customer service. This router was defective out of the box, took 3 weeks of communication with Linksys's customer service before I finally just returned it and build my own router with the same functions.
Are There Two Versions of This Router???.......2006-01-20
I have one of these routers and it's the best home router I think I have ever owned or setup. It's been rock stable since I bought it 2 years ago, never had to reboot, and it was easy to configure and has worked brilliantly with both my powerbook and centrino laptop. I've seen other reviews that share my experience and I think that they must have made two or more versions of this router at the same time because it's about the only thing that explains the extreme differences in experience from one reviewer to the next. Knowing that so many people had so much trouble I'd be reluctant to recommend it, but mine has been very good.

Product Description
Welcome to the innovative world of the Advanced Photo System and Kodak ADVANTiX films! At the heart of the Advanced Photo System, Kodak ADVANTiX films are truly hybrid products. They use breakthrough photographic emulsion and coating technologies to deliver excellent image quality in the smaller film format. At the same time, Kodak's magnetics technology enables coating the entire surface of the film with a transparent magnetic layer. This layer records digital information that links all Advanced Photo System components through information exchange (IX). IX permits communication between you, the camera, the film, and the photofinishing equipment in the lab that processes and prints your film. Kodak ADVANTiX 400 multi-purpose film is the right choice for use in low light, for fast action, for zoom photography, and for extending your flash distance range. This improved high-speed film delivers more accurate color rendition, with more vibrant, saturated colors - an enhancement that's particularly noticeable in film that's been accidentally overexposed. Its improved fine grain means outstanding panoramic shots - even when film is underexposed. Optimized skin-tone rendition means great people pictures. And better printing compatibility with other films in the lab means consistent, high-quality prints for you. This film incorporates T-Grain emulsions technology to provide excellent performance in low-light situations or where extended flash range is necessary, and the sharpness usually associated with lower-speed films.
Customer Reviews:
Neat idea ... but digital is better........2003-07-26
APS came onto the scene right before Digital Photography became affordable for the general populace. This is unfortunate because the APS system is actually quite nice and convenient.
It is a shame that this system wasn't introduced about a decade ago ... however ... if you need film, or if digital cameras are still a bit too pricey ... then I would recommend getting an APS camera ... and if you do ... use this film

Customer Reviews:
Good, convenient way to use your cellphone.......2005-12-20
I have used this headset with Nokia 6620 as well as Nokia 3300 and they work well. The sound is very clear, while I have never used a volume setting above 3 bars (has 7 bars available).
However, sometimes they do not pair well with my device, so I have to turn them off-on in order to work.
I have also used them with my laptop, and the sound is great! As for range, I would say that I never had a problem as long as I was within 20 feet. However, if you use them in the house, walking from room to room, pairing will get lost.
Have also recently the BT-250v but they did not work as well. A lot of chatter and too much background noise, although I was testing them inside my apt, without any noise at all.
Jabra improves on the convenience of cell phones.......2005-12-05
I recently upgraded my cell phone with Verizon's "New every two" program. I added the Jabra BT250V and I love it.
I have Motorola's E815 and the pairing was hassle free. Any name on my contact list on my phone can be accessed by voice command. I didn't have to create "voice tags." For me, I pressed the "mult-function" button, a voice responds through the Jabra, "Say a command." I simply said, "Call Wife." My phone immediately recognized my command and connected me with my wife.
Another benefit, besides the obvious convenience and safety of handsfree dialing, is that I can hear the phone better. I use to practically shove the phone into my ear and still couldn't hear very well. Now, the Jabra hangs loosely on my ear and I can hear great. If I'm having a hard time hearing, I just push the earbud into my ear. I wear my Jabra all day long - about 12+ hours and I hardly notice it.
The BT250V has vibration alert, but I turned it off after a few days. I also have my phone set to answer automatically, so I don't have to do anything, just say, "hello."
I leave it on every night and it seems to hold a charge for about three days. The Jabra I have now is actually a replacement. The first one quit pairing with my phone after a week. This one has been working great for about a month.
The only complaints I have is that I bought mine through Verizon (their insurance plan covers the phone and one accessory according to customer service) and paid twice what I could've gotten one off of ebay for. Also, it took quite a while to get used to the loose feeling it has hanging on my ear. It has never fallen off, but I felt like it should fit more snugly. It comes with two different styles of silicone ear buds - two short ones and two long ones. Memory foam ear buds might be nice?
Overall, I'm very happy with the freedom, convenience and safety of my Jabra and I think you'll be happy, too.
Update: May 1, 2006
If you have trouble with your Jabra pairing with your phone, try plugging it into the Jabra charger and unplugging it. This has never failed to correct a pairing problem for me. I discovered this after returning one Jabra BT250. After using it for nearly five months I am very happy with it.
