This film is okay. The color isn't nearly as realistic as some other films. I would recommend Fugi Superia Extra 400. It has much better color reproduction and is cheaper.

Skip this one and get either: Kodak Royal Gold 400 or Fuji Superia 400. If you settle for this film you are going to possibly compromise your photo shot.

This is the film I buy whenever I'm out. My exposures always return crystal-clear! The blue-green color of my stuffed walrus is particularly well-served by Kodak's masterful Gold Max 400 film. I'm also fond of Kodak's 110 film, but due to the nature of that format, my pictures were much dimmer. After the switch to 400, whoa! Watch out! What a vivid walrus!

When I first started doing more serious photography, I went to this old and time-tested reserve, Kodak Max 400. The results, I'm sad to say, were a bit disappointing. The pictures were just too grainy (too many apparent dots in the photo). If you don't know what alternatives are available, it is good enough for your typical snapshot, but I think all of us can do a little better.

As you are probably aware, film comes in various "speeds," which allow you to shoot in differing light conditions. The higher the number, the less light needed. Thus, 100 film often requires bright outdoor sunlight, whereas 400 and 800 film is used for indoor or "high speed" (sports) photography. The problem with high-speed film, however, is that it is grainy. In order to get the film to react more quickly to light, the film needs to use larger silver crystals. Result? Your pictures will tend to be comprised of "dots" rather than smoother blends of color.

Despite improvements from 400 and 800 films of the past, Kodak's current low-end consumer film (i.e. Kodak Max) still suffers from excessive graininess. With everyone switching to 4x6 and 5x7 prints nowadays, pictures shot on these low-end consumer films will often still show "dots" when observed up close. If you want pictures to be treasured for years to come, do you really want dots?

The solution I found was Kodak's Royal Gold series, and Amazon to my delight recently started carrying this line of film. Unlike Max 400, Royal Gold 400 has a remarkably small grain size, offering you the best of both worlds -- sharpness and speed. It is a real shame that more consumers don't know about Kodak's Royal Gold line of film. I would expect that most people normally buy the Gold (low speed 100 or 200) or Max (high speed 400 or 800) series of film simply because it is the only type of film sold in nonspecialty stores. Don't -- it's a mistake. "Royal Gold," even though a little more expensive, is much better, and you will certainly appreciate the difference in quality.

If you are a beginner, this film is perect for you, however if you are and advancing student or professional you should probably opt for a more proffesional film, such as: FujiColor NPS 160 Professional, or Kodak Tri-X Black and white film.

this film is good for high-light, low light, action or still (sounds like a commercial). i use it a lot. it is the best film for the money. i would suggest getting the two-pack, though.

This is the type of film consistently reccommended or required in my university art photography classes. It works well at a variety of shutter speeds, is usually reasonably priced, easy to find at a variety of retailers (including Amazon.com), and has a good tonal range. The developing times are consistent, and the film is popular enough that there are many resources online and elsewhere to help you get the most out of your film. A good basic choice all around.

This film is great. It is good for many situations and is very flexible. You can pretty much be safe with 400 speed film. It is an average film that will allow for low/bright light subject matter. It is good for outdoors. Good travel film, since you don't always know what the weather will be like. Have fun!

I have been taking pictures constantly for about 3 years. I have shot with a myrid of film. However, Kodak film is hands down the best film I have ever shot with. The color is bright and vivid and you don't get the dull color or one color brighter than another than othe films out there. Yeah, you have to pay a little more for Kodak. But, trust me it is well worth it!! No matter what situation or occasion or subject this is the perfect film to not only get the shot but preserve it forever. So go ahead and open up that moldy wallet of yours and get it. You won't be sorry!!!

I am a freelance photographer and I go thru films like there is no tomorrow. This is probably one of the best deals around. Kodak is very high quality and I used them all the time. Highly recommend this to anyone who takes pictures with any kind of 35mm camera.

After taking pictures in Africa, Turkey, Greece, Alaska, and many other places, I've learned (sometimes the hard way) to take film seriously. A great camera will still take muddy pictures if the film quality is questionable.

I recently loaded this Kodak Gold Max 400 film into a new camera to take a test roll before another trip, and was surprised by the wonderful color quality of the returned pictures. A second test roll, taken of brightly-colored holiday decorations, came back excellent as well.

Now, if Amazon would only sell it in 10-packs, I'd be happy...

In a size and price range where we normally see two-way designs, the three-way LS200s are rare birds. An extra midrange driver doesn't always make for better sound, but, in this case, the third driver adds a degree of warmth and smoothness that we've never encountered in a speaker at this price. As a bonus, AudioSource has mirror-imaged the drivers, which allows a pair of LS200s to create the kind of pinpoint imaging we associate with far costlier models.

Great for the Price.......2007-08-31

I wanted to add some sound to our Kawasaki Mule (which is like a 4wd gas powered golf cart). I didn't want to build a speaker box for regular car speakers so I decided to try some smaller outdoor speakers. I hooked a pair of these up to a lower end Kenwood 4x50 watt car stereo/CD/mp3 player. These speakers sound great. I've had them for about a month now and they handle the rough, dusty roads on our place without any problem. They seem pretty well made.

Bought 2 pair for an outdoor screened porch for $30 per pair. They sound great, were easy to mount, and oh so inexpensive! We've had some gatherings and the sound has been plenty and when sitting out quiet, it sounds great too.

For the porch setup, I also purchased a stereo receiver (Sherwood) for $85. My main goal was to allow radio play and to use an iPod as source for the screened porch. Well, the sound is great (nice lows and can even blast all the neighbors), the components were cheap (except the iPod) and I can feel okay leaving the receiver outdoors (out of direct rain path, but definitely gets plenty of dust and humidity.)

These speakers are terrific for the price - we have them in our golf cart hanging from the rear of the cover and they sound terrific. They are just what I wanted and we listen to them quite often and love the sound. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a good sounding outdoor speaker

don't expect these to sound like $500 Hi-Fi speakers. But they do the job, seem sturdy and well made, and sound pretty decent. i'm happy with 'em.

For the price, they can't be beat. If you just want a little background music while you're reading on the deck, these are the ticket. This is the second pair of these that I've bought, and the 1st pr. lasted 3 yrs. through rain, wind, and any other weather that Upstate NY can throw at them.
