Maxell is probably the best brand for DVDs and VHS tapes. It has the best design for both the DVDs and the VHS tapes. It is also re-writable up to 1,000 times.

If you're looking for a DVD-RW, Maxell is your best brand.

With so many people switching over from VHS and video casettes to Tivo, the internet and DVD burning, it is hard to choose which media is the best kind for your burner. That also can be troubling if you've bought a DVD recorder. Maxell understands that, and has maintained the best quality with each disc they make, and their media discs are no acception. This 3 pack of DVD-RW discs, are very convient in storing anything from MP3 tracks you've downloaded from the internet, to just everyday use when you're recording your favorite TV shows. The price is right because they are inexpensive and very convient. Although these DVD-RW discs are only compatable at 2X speed, check to see if it is compatable with your burners and recorders before use. I like them a whole lot, and I absolutely suggest Maxell over lesser-known brands that seems to deliver the storage, but not the promise of the quality.

Primero verifica la compatibilidad de tu quemador y la de tu Reproductor de DVD antes de comprar este disco en blanco de DVD+R (Ten en cuenta que existen 4 tipos; DVD+RW, DVD+R y DVD-RW, DVD-R). Si son compatibles, te recomiendo ampliamente este disco de DVD+R. Maxell como siempre ha hecho un magnifico trabajo de calidad haciendo estos discos (La misma buena experiencia que tuve hace años con los antiguos cassettes de audio).
Yo he quemado unos 10 discos de DVD+R utilizando mi quemador externo Sony DRX-530UL que es dual es decir, puede quemar DVD+RW/R y DVR-RW/R.
Los DVR+R y DVD-R te permiten quemarlos solo una vez a diferencia de los DVD+RW y DVD-RW que pueden ser utilizados varias veces.
Estos discos te permiten quemar datos, musica y video a una velocidad Max de 4X y guardar información hasta de 2 horas en modo SP y 4 horas en EP).
Los videos quemados en estos discos los puedo ver en mi DVD Player (Sony DAV- C770)sin problemas
Mi sistema operativo es Win XP pro.
Nuevamente insisto en que verifiquen la compatibilidad de su quemador y reproductor de DVD para evitarse frustraciones. Espero sea de ayuda. (En español es mejor!!).

It is a millon times better than a Dell or any other windows computer. I should know i have a powerhouse windows xp pro machine. I use it for internet with the airport card awesome and easy to install. It was worth the 80 buckaroos. I also love the simplicity with my beloved 15 gb g3 iPod. The next computer may as well be a Mac it runs smoother faster and It is alot simpler. And 30 gb is plenty space also even with how much i use it 256 ram is beutiful on the macs. I gave it a 5 because about 2 weeks it changed my view on what a good computer should be.

Old and slow.......2004-07-19

Look I love Macs but an 800MHz G4? It's just too slow to run modern software. The basic design of this CPU is almost 10 years old!! Most upper-end new software isn't rated to run on it.

Keep looking and accept nothing less than a fast G5.

Mac OSX is nice, but the hardware is years out of date.......2004-07-18

I had this notebook for a few months, having switched from the PC to the Mac platform. OSX is a contender... it has grown quite a bit over the past few years to be a true alternative to Windows. If you are the type who only needs a few core applications (as 90% of computer users are), you might seriously consider the Mac platform.

However, Apple needs to get their hardware out of the stone-age. The iBook is a toy, and a 800mhz processor *is indeed* slow. Mac Zealots will tell you otherwise, that the G4 platform is more efficient than x86, etc. This may have been true five years ago, when the G4 was first introduced and comparable to the then-current Pentium IV. But x86 has come a long way since then (Athlon64 anyone?), and the G4 is very, very slow in comparison. Think of the specs... 133mhz bus. 0.8GHZ processor, 256mb RAM, 30GB HD. The LCD is only capable of 1024x768, and is extremely dim and slow.

I could reccomend this notebook to students who need something simple to get their work done, home users that surf the internet wirelessly throughout the house... or a second computer in homes already with a powerful desktop (like a G5...!) who would like roaming wireless capabilities. This isn't a primary machine for a moderate user who demands even a little power for applications.

Pros: Looks nice, feels good, fun to use and look at. Runs OSX, which is great.

Cons: Wimpy little toy under the hood. Don't expect much. The Powerbooks are a better choice for power-users, but Apple needs to bring the G5 to their laptop line soon.

Good machine.......2004-07-14

I've got friends with this (I personally have a 15" PowerBook) machine, and it's great. With OS X I recommend at least 512mb of ram, but for the casual user, 256 would work.

And a side note...multiple users posted reviews about how old and outdated an 800mhz processor is; one thing these people don't know is that it's not x86. Anything non-x86 (POWER, PowerPC, SPARC, MIPS, Alpha, etc) is much better than anything x86. One number I've heard is that in the days of 100mhz, anything non-x86 was 2 to 2.5 times the speed (100mhz Alpha = 200, 250mhz x86).
