The panel is equipped with a host of energy-saving functions, and its Contrast Automatic Tracking System (C.A.T.S.) senses ambient light and adjusts brightness and gradation accordingly. The addition of "menu" and "enter" buttons to the front panel gives you control of onscreen display functions without recourse to using the supplied remote control.

Don't Know What your Problem Is !!.......2006-01-03

The 37 PWD as well as the 42 PWD Panasonic are wonderful panels. If your resolution is horrible, your source must be horrible. It is universially agreed in videophile circles and forums that these panels are the best buys available and are capable of remarkable picture quality. I have 2 of them and could not be happier. If you want confirmation take a look at the AVS forum and do some reading.

Resolution is very low, awful really for a monitor labled "Pro" in the titel. New years resolution should be to offer 1080p (1920x1080) on All their monitors instead of tying to trick people into thinking that anything less is state of the art.

Don't buy this !!!! A bad bad bad quality monitor.......2005-10-05

This monitor is a total no good. The one I currently have is my fifth since April 2002 and I stopped RMA it because I can't trust them anymore. The initial one was brand new. Of course they respected their warranty, but this is where they fell in the no good customer service because they were not able to go further and recognize that this monitor is a piece of crap. Already the first time (40 days after the initial buy) I offered them to upgrade to a Mitsubishi (higher quality) and pay the difference but they never agreed. The people working for Nec/Mitsubishi only have three choices over their screen: 1 - you send it back, then we send a refurbished. 2 - we send you a refurbished and then you send the other one back. 3 - have a nice day sir! (at least, they were polite every time) A telephone robot could do the job: they can't go no further and you can't talk to anyone who can take a real decision. At the third monitor, I changed my video card thinking it was the problem but no. This monitor is supposed to be optimized for 1280x1024 at 85 Hz but it seems like the parts in it just can't stand it. I must now run it at 1024x768 if I don't want it to kind of stall (screen blacks out and then a vertical white line appears in the center and everything goes black and no it is not windows power management and yes all the good drivers are installed correctly and no there is nothing in the monitor's menu to adjust this. It's a SCREEN HARDWARE DEFAULT!) Now for the return policy, each time you wait over one month to RMA it, YOU have to pay for the shipping of your screen. All in all, I had to pay 3 times for shipping ($100 CAD more). I'm telling everyone to stay away from NEC at all in everything. If they can't recognize a total flop on one item, they do not deserve the trust of the customers. STAY AWAY FROM NEC !!!

Not a great monitor.......2005-05-04

I got this monitor almost 3 years ago. For the first year it was great. Nice color, no problems, didn't need any adjustments. The second year I had to degauss every once in a while as the colors in a corner (usually bottom right) got brighter and distorted. This always corrected the problem, but it always returned. Now in its third year the monitor is difficult to use. It blacks out on certain resolutions that it should support (and so does my video card), and more recently has developed a new problem. After a seemingly arbitrary amount of time (but less if there is lots of video action) the monitor starts stretching vertically and develops a black bar on the right side of the screen. A few minutes later my entire menu bar (OS X.3.9) is off the screen and a skinnier bar is also on the left. A few minutes after this the monitor goes black with the power light still green. To fix this I must turn the monitor off and leave it off for a while (off for 5 minutes prolongs the next episode for about an hour, 10 minutes 2 hours, and so on).

With so many options out there it is impossible for me to recommend this product. It was nice at first, but is close to unusable now. For reference, I am driving it with a 64mb Radeon 9000 pro (DVI->VGA adapter) on a dual processor Mirror Drive Door G4 tower with 1.25gb RAM.

Never Again!.......2004-03-16

I have had this monitor for over 2 years. It's reliable, but the display quality leaves a lot to be desired. There's terrible moire that's hard to get rid of and the edges and corners never look right. I have played with all the buttons until my finger tips started to hurt. I went with NEC's reputation and bought the monitor sight unseen, a decision I have regretted ever since.

About a week ago I had my 17" Dell monitor "upgraded" with the AS 95F. After one day of use my eyes were burning. The monitor has an annoying flicker in the lower right corner, regardless of the refresh rate used. There are also light horizontal bands present in the white backgrounds. My friend in the next cube has the same problems with his AS 95F as well. I would rather have my 17" Dell monitor than the AS 95F.
Since visual quality is the most important feature in a monitor IMHO I gave this model a rating of 1. I would not buy it.

Rock solid bomber!.......2006-02-14

I've owned this workhorse for over 5yrs. Though I've put it the closet twice when I got "better" phones I keep coming back to this baby. It really stands up to some rough handling and it's very easy to use.

Not reliabile.......2005-05-24

Features wise this phone is OK, but it broke within one year after purchase day.

The sound in the headset became so quite, that you can only hear it in the very quite room, even on the loudest mode.

The phone shut itself down every one or two week and you have to unplug it from the power outlet for about 10 min and then plug it back, so it's start working again.

The speakerphone microphone is not sensitive enough, you can only use it within 2 feet from the base, otherwise other party will not hear you.

The buttons on the headset very hard and sometime is impossible to press.

My friend also bought Panasonic phone (different model), guess what, it broke within one year too.

I have Panasonic TV, DVD player and microwave oven and they work just fine for a few years now. Based on my own experience and also reading other people reviews, I think Panasonic has a very big reliability problem with their phones and they should address this issue ASAP.

Great Phone!!!!.......2005-04-05

In reading the reviews I thought I'd add my 2 cents since I've owned this phone for *at least* 5 years now with no problems. I got online to try and help a friend find a new 900 mhz phone so it won't interfere with her wi-fi. I looked up my phone to check the reviews and it sounds like if you get a good one you love it, a bad one it's not so good. My battery so far has been great though I'll probably need a new one pretty soon as the 4+ hr cont. talk time is now down to about 2ish and I can't leave it off the cradle overnight anymore and hold a charge.

However, I wonder if the problems aren't with the battery itself more than the phone. I say this because I also own another Panasonic cordless phone/answering machine and it has many of the same battery issues mentioned here. Overall though I'd say I'd buy this phone again in a heartbeat -- it's easy to use, the speaker on the handset is wonderful, especially when you get stuck on hold, and the range/features make for a very nice package. I've recommended this phone to others who love it as well.

You get what you pay for. I wanted an inexpensive model with Caller ID and voicemail.
Most of the features are just fine. However, the handset is way too quiet and the battery life is just horrible. It would not let you talk for more than 40 minutes - needs recharging.
(I owe that model for over a year.)

I bought the camera to use with my wrt54G Linksys router as the reviews I'd read said the chances were best if you had the same vendor equipment. I set up the wizard to try and find the camera wireless but no joy. I'd read the wired hook up was a way to start and it found the camera. The problem came when it asked for an admin name and admin password. ????? I called tech support and wasted an hour an one half and still don't have the unit on line. I was told use admin for the name and password both.

It seems that only the people who have problems write reviews. I'm here to say that I had this linksys cam up, configured and viewing in less than five minutes. The new 802.11G model will make a 640 pixel image, but I think that if you are sendng between two DSL connections- the best you will get is 320 anyway (with any frame rate). OK, the low light picture isn't great, but under normal conditions with light filtering in from the windows, it's perfect.
At the current price under $100, nothing competes with this camera.
If you want to use it outside (weather protected) get a small neutral density filter from your camera shop and attach it to the lens. Conclusion?: This thing is big fun and totally usefull in remote monitoring places from any web browser in the world. (note: it will be easier to set up the www browser viewing if you have a linksys router)

Horrible product, Took me 3 Days to Setup this damn thing........2005-10-22

I work as a technical assitant for more than 3 years. I am a software developer; point is I am very technical. And I could not figure out how to setup this product. I chat with Linksys techsupport for 3 Days !! Yes !! Unbelievable !! But I did. I own more than 5 different Linksys products they all are nice and works fine... just had to plug and play.

But this product sucks.... as hell.

I gave two star.... because finally it got started working but has many issues with camera and its software.

I would not recommend this camera look for something else.

1997 Technology ...Today?.......2005-10-14

The WVC11b is a GREAT camera...for 1997.
Perhaps it's too harsh to inflict this camera with the standards of a 2005 user, yet it fails miserably at being anything useful, other than a novelty in this modern age.

This camera REQUIRES the use of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or above. That is understandable in 1997, but not in 2005. Many people now choose to use stable and robust broswers such as Firefox, Safari, and Opera.
ONLY PC USERS can view this camera stream. Even then, it must be viewed through a horrible web interface served from the camera itself.
If you think CYBERSPACE is new slang and LOVE Internet Explorer and poor image quality...this camera is for you.
If you want a flexible webcam which allows you to use the video content in a myriad of useful ways...pass this one up.
There are much better choices to be found.
