Wrong Picture.......2007-02-27

Wow... Targus must have changed the product but kept the TAP100 product name. What I recieved was a 10.75x4x4.25" 'shaving case' sized thing. Not at all what I was looking for or what is described. Ck out the Targus website for an accurate description and photo....

Notebook case.......2006-08-24

I bought this for my 15 in. notebook, it's doesn't fit. The dimensions were correct but when I tried to zip the case, I couldn't do it. It would have been perfect otherwise.

Nice Case.......2006-06-21

I bought this thinking it just MIGHT fit my 15.4" laptop. It doesn't; now I have to take it back. But it is a nice case- sleek with memory foam. Would fit nicely into a larger backpack, which was my original intention.

Fits my needs.......2006-02-24

This is an excellent slip case for a laptop. The material feels soft yet thick enough to protect the laptop. It fits my laptop and the cooling stand easily. I have a 14" laptop and the fit is perfect. Probably would not fit larger laptops. I have been looking at many slip cases and I am really glad I chose this one. Very satisfied.

Great For Cables.......2003-10-21

This case is big enough to handle all of the cables that come with your notebook in such a way as to avoid damage to them or from them. I kept my AC Adaptor in the big mesh pocket and internet/usb cables in the slip pockets, as well as, a keypad a DV inverter and a usb hub. They shared pockets, but all fit. The case lid is effectively a CD/smartcard visor. You can fit quite a few in there, but I've never really trusted placing CDs in such close proximity. Great product overall for handling all that junk that always ends up going with your laptop.

I Looked at a lot of bags before I chose this one. This bag is great it has pockets to fit all your macbook accessories. The bag is very neat and slim looking not large at all like most of the laptop bags. The fabric is water-resistant and the inside compartment is lined with nyflex so your macbook won't get scratched. Amazon has the best prices most of the time and there service was great!! I would recommend this product to anyone who owns a macbook. Get it while it's on sale at Amazon for $49.99. cute to look at, plays well, but scratches.......2006-02-28

sounds like a kitty cat but it's true--this portable cd player works fine but it can scratch your cds if you're not careful. It's battery console is opened from the INSIDE of the disc console (where you insert the cd to play). If you don't close the battery lid properly, it is still raised and will scratch the disc once you play it. This player scratched three of my favorites. Sorry to say but whoever thought of putting the battery console inside the disc console is an absolute genius.

Excellent for the office........2006-02-14

I've had my mp70 for just over two years, and love it. I listen to mp3s recorded at 256, using Grado sr80 headphones. The sound is excellent. With the Grado's I find a volume level of 5 to 8 to be fine. I've also used it with a pair of Panasonic RP-HG17 headphones, and usually need to crank it up a bit more for them.

One of the things I love about the mp70 is the built-in charger -- I've been using the same set of ni-cad batteries daily for almost 3 years. I noticed in the instructions that the diagram for the Panasonic ni-cads (P-3GAVA/2B) showed a small, clear strip on the negative end (-) of the cell. A quick peek at the battery compartment showed a small sense wire at the bottom of one of the cell slots. Since I couldn't find the Panasonic cells, I decided to just give it a try. I went to Radio Shack and picked up a couple ni-cads and and AC adapter (I brought the player in and they quickly found the correct plug). The total was $20 for the adapter/plug (#273-1760) and $7.50 for the ni-cads (#23-149). At home I took out my pocket knife and stripped about 4mm of the label off the negative end of each cell, so that the metal case showed. I popped them into the player, plugged in the adapter, and sure enough, "CHARGE" started blinking on the display. I use the unit about 5 - 6 hours a day (either playing or in pause), and have to charge it 2 - 3 times a week (this has crept up over the last year; I think the time has arrived for new ni-cads. Two years of daily use has taken a toll.). The unit takes about 2 hours to charge, and you know it's done when the "CHARGE" message disappears. This is rarely ever a hassle as I usually plug it in when I leave work (when I notice the batteries are low) and it's ready when I get in the next day. Note that once or twice a month I also let it run till it dies to keep the batteries conditioned. Also note that since the internal charger is designed for ni-cads, nimh cells may not work as well (they have a different charge profile).

What's nice about this whole setup is I can rip six+ albums onto a disc for work without bringing in all my cds (which have been known to wander). If I "loose" a cd, no big deal, I just burn another image onto a 19 cent CD-R (interestingly enough, this hasn't happened since I started bringing in my CD-R's. I guess my cheap discs covered in Sharpie notes aren't as appealing). I also find this system to be much more manageable than sticking 5000 songs on one mp3 player. I have my "lyle lovett" disc, my "jill sobule" / "audioslave" disc, etc. These discs also work in the Alpine in my Jeep, so I just slip what I'm listening to in my sachel for the drive home.

Getting back the mp70 itself, the display is great too, far superior to other units in the same (or greater) price range. I tag all my songs with id3 information, so the title/artist pops right up (I use either grip or sonia to rip my cds). This is alot nicer than just seeing the file name. The display is large enough that I can read it from a reasonable distance too. On flights I can sit it on the floor of the plane by my foot and still read the titles.

Overall I have totally enjoyed my mp70 over the past 2+ years and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unit like this. I would have given it 5 stars except for the EQ settings, which are very uneven. Part of this is personal preference though, and that said, the unit still sounds cleaner and more open than my office pc. If Panasonic had given it user adjustable tone/eq settings, this product would be perfect. Of course then I probably wouldn't have found it on sale for $30 either. Such is life.

Item worked great for a couple months.......2005-01-11

Last year I bought this item for my daughter. She listens on her bed in her room and does not carry this item around. We were pleased at first. Within a few months the lid ceased to close properly and she had to listen with the unit flipped upside-down to apply pressure to keep the lid closed. A few months later it became temperamental and skipped and/or refused to play. Bottom line is that in less than a year it became unfunctional in a situation with very little jostling. I would not buy this product again. However, at the same time I bought the PANASONIC RP-HS9 Ear Candy Clip-On Stereo Headphones (Silver), and these are a wonderful and comfortable buy. She loves them.

Problems to be aware of........2004-12-17

I got one of these back when it was a new thing and cost about $60, and I have encountered the following problems:
- Scratches/engraves a ring around my discs at about 75% out from the center.
- Collects internal dust with a surprisingly fast rate compared to the non-MP3 discman I used before.
- Have to remove the disc to change batteries
- It just broke such that the spindle locks up on startup. I don't know if this is common, but it should not occur from normal wear and tear.
- Skips (in MP3 mode) when walking with it in any pants pocket other than top fron of back pockets.

This cd-player is ok, it has live, bass and regular sound, but the volume cant go so loud. I would recomend a iriver mp3 player or a sony cd player.
