Enjoy the performance of 900 MHz extended range with this value priced telephone! A 900 MHz analog transmission offers clearer reception and less interference than phones operating in the 46-49 MHz spectrum. The headset capability allow you to talk hands-free, the compact handset design of this cordless phone is so appealing that no one can resist. It features 10-number speed dial memory, page function that also can serve as a handset locator and volume control for sound pitch adjustment. The colors of this phone bring out lots of fun.
Amazon.com Review
Add a burst of color to your desk with this translucent green cordless phone from VTech. You can see the electronic components through the plastic case, and bright red LEDs flash when the phone rings and when you return the handset to the base. In addition to its fun exterior, this phone has some serious features--its 900 MHz frequency offers improved range and clarity over older phones operating on lower frequency bands.
To set up the phone, we inserted the battery pack, plugged in the AC power, and connected the RJ-11 telephone line cord. We recommend that you charge the battery overnight before using the phone for the first time.
In our tests of the VT02-9111, we placed the base unit in a typical area, where walls, floors, and obstructions might interfere with signal quality. We made a variety of local and long-distance calls; its connection sounded almost as good as a corded phone's, with only occasional, minor static. We could hear the onset of fuzzy reception when we held the handset about 50 feet from the base. Interference became intrusive at about 100 feet, but the handset continued to function until about 530 feet, where it lost contact with the base. The battery is rated to last for seven hours of talk time, but in our test, the phone started beeping (indicating a low battery) after only one hour.
Within a reasonable proximity to the base, the VTech sounds clear, but the real draw of this phone is its bold fashion statement.
Pros:
- Attractive, fun style
- 900 MHz operation for better sound and range

Inexpensive, mediocre sound, good otherwise.......2000-10-18
We bought this phone because my daughter thought it was cool looking and it was the right color. Beyond that, this phone was inexpensive and is a decent performer.
You are not paying for fancy features, or digital clarity and security. And you don't get those for free. If you desire a great phone then you need to spend more. Sound quality is acceptable, though there is a constant hiss in the background, regardless of how far from the base you are. The hiss is not a problem at the lowest volume setting, but it gets worth as the volume goes up. Also, there is no headphone jack on this model.
For us the bottom line is that color and coolness are more important, so this one is a keeper.
Horrible.......2000-07-26
This phone was really bad because it stopped working withen the first 2 weeks I had it...I had no idea why!
this phone is refreshingly great.......2000-07-25
For many years I only used Panasonic phones, but have been very disappointed for the past couple years. A few months ago I picked up one of these vtechs on an impulse (love those colors!) and it turned out to have vastly superior sound quality to any of my expensive phones. This phone gets carried to every room in the house because of the good sound. I wish every phone -- actually, every electronic device, was as reliable and pleasurable to use.
Nothing but problems..........2000-06-19
This phone has been nothing but problems for me. I never dropped the phone once, but static will come on. To get rid of it, I have to flick the back of the phone until it goes away. This knocks the battery loose because it is not secured, just barely touching the contacts, and in turn disconnects the phone call!. I try to place the phone back on the base unit, and it doesn't charge until I hit it. What a piece of junk.
Jiggy Phone !.......2000-04-18
Guys this is the coolest gizmo to have at the price it is sold ! I love it in more ways than one ! No static and just pleasant and simple talking !

Bad purchase!.......2004-07-31
Poor sound. A lot of static. We bought it as a gift and it never worked right.
it stunk!.......2004-06-22
I got this phone for christmas a few years ago and it was great then. now it doesnt hold a charge for longer than an a few hours and you cannot put it next to a laptop due to its only 2.4 ghz wil mess up a wireless connection. do not buy this phone if you are putting it next tp a wireless conection router or if you forget to put a phone back on the charger.
"A Review of the Above Review".......2000-10-05
The rewiew of the VTech VT-040-9111 by Jefferey Tam was completely useless and should not have been printed.
The "BEST PHONE" ever made!!!!.......2000-09-23
If you are looking for a easy and affordable phone to use, then I will prefer this one. This is the newest model for VTECH. The color looks so nice and attractive. The VTECH phone I had was not as good as this one. I think all VTECH phones look nice, but this is my favortie one of all. I love this phone so much. This phone is so fun and easy to use my whole family likes it. This phone is so easy to use that my 79 year old Grandma knows how to use it well. I'm telling you this phone is great not just for you, but also your family. So buy it!!!!!

Perfect for the average College Student.......2002-03-06
This is the perfect Dormitory phone. I've had it for two years now, it's reliable and works great. The sound is superb, and the battery lasts a very long time, so you can talk for as long as you want. I highly recommend it for HS seniors going off to live in a college dorm. For this great price you get a great product. What more can I say.
The Answer Phone...........2000-08-17
Do you enjoy freedom? These phones give you freedom - cord-freedom that is.... The V-tech phones are low cost and very, very stylish. They may be antique analog, but they still provide a very comfortable way of chatting. I have bought two. They are effectively my easiest way of calling my mum in England while lying comfortably in my bed. A little analog hiss from time to time when we are more than 50 yards away from the base, but otherwise we find the signal excellent around the house.
One reason I only gave four stars is that there is no display on the phone. You have to put your own 'aide-memoire' on the phone as there is no provision to see which of the memories has been assigned to whom. This will of course lower the 'chic-ness' of an otherwise excellent looking and performing phone. I suspect that V-Tech are on their way to making themselves the #1 phone in the US. They clearly understand that a well made and well styled phone is popular. However - if they are becoming so popular, then an upmarket styling is probably required for the family room.
vtech vt9111.......2000-02-16
I bought the vtech because my panasonic had fallen a few too many times. The vtech is just the right size for my pocket and seems to work very well! I was concerned when I read in one of the comments that it didn't have a flash button but it does it's the phone button. I'm very pleased with the VT9111.
Great Fone.......2000-01-30
I could not be more pleased with this phone! It has a cool look. The sound quality is perfect and the price is also amazing. This phone has 10 speed dials which are very handy. With features like, out or range indication, low battery indicator and handset locator the phone could not be better!
A fantastic, fun phone!.......2000-01-29
I've had my red VTech VT-01-9111 900 MHz Cordless Phone for nearly 6 months now, and I love it still. Ergonomically, it fits in your hand, and gently hugs your ear. Clarity is excellent -- I've never had a problem. It has the standard options (phone number program, re-dial, etc.), but also let's you choose from 4 ring styles. And of course: the price is excellent. I couldn't be more pleased!

great phone.......2003-06-12
I have always been pleased with the used products from Amazon. This product was no different. We ordered the VTech phone on Sunday and recieved it 6 days later. The phone was in perfect condition and I was extrememly pleased with the service provided to me. I would definitly order from this person again.
What's with the "wind"????.......2003-03-28
First I had the blue one, then, thinking color would matter, got the dark green (but it is identical other than color). With BOTH of these, I had the phone for 6 months or so, and then, starting 5 minutes into a call, what can only be described as "wind" would start in the background (both I and the other person i was talking to could hear it). It would get louder and louder until you could not hear the person and it sounded like they were in a blizzard. This thing was on the charger whenever I wasn't on it (ie: all day when I was at school/work, and all night), so I don't get it. I bought a new battery, and it didn't make a difference. When it happened with the 2nd one i got (which was in a different city, so I know it wasn't my phone line), I'd had enough. All it is good for is a "ringer" that I could answer and run with it to my other bedroom phone. I can't explain it, but I'm not buying another one!!!
Be cautious.......2000-12-02
I bought this phone in late july and 2 weeks later the batery died while I was using it I put in the charger and the phone would not charge or stop beeping I finally threw it away because it was surely broken.
Nice Phone!.......2000-09-24
I like this phone because of it's modern, translucent appearance. It has several lights that flash to alert you that the phone is ringing, also you may set the ringing sound to whatever you like (similar to a cell phone).
The sound quality and range is excellant for a phone about its size. My only problem is that the caller ID is located on the base of the set instead of the portable handset. Aside from the caller ID location, the phone itself works just fine.
Good phone, good price.......2000-08-09
I had an aging Sony cordless and picked this phone up from Amazon. The price ($30) for a 900mhz phone is excellent. The handset fits well in my hand and between my neck and shoulder if I need to use both of my hands for a moment. The buttons are large and easy to push. Sound quality is good and I haven't experienced any cross-talk interference at all (we have 2 other 900mhz phones in the house.) The blue color is fun and matches my iMac. My only critique would be that the phone doesn't have a headset jack, but at $30, who's complaining?

Good Choice.......2006-02-04
The jumpdrive was ready to go as soon as I plugged it in. It is small and the cover clicks into place so as not to get lost. The design of the clip to attach to a keychain or anything else is such that it is not flimsy, I have no concerns about losing it. It's small enough so that I haven't had any problems fitting it into those small spaces provided on some computer. I love it!
Great little time-saver.......2006-01-27
I purchased this item (the 1 GB) about a month ago or so. I have been very pleased thus far and have used it to transfer numerous LARGE photos and MP3's. It has worked without a hitch. It is also great to organize word documents on, especially in graduate school where many professors are requiring the use of one. The only reason it doesn't get a deserved 5 stars is becuase already my cap is looking like it about to come off for good. However, I see no reason why this will effect the use of the product daily.
Peter Licastro is reviewing the wrong product.......2006-01-22
So perhpas I should as well! I am about to order this this Jumpdrive. I currently have the 128 MB version and LOVE it! The plastic casing is sturdy, the transfer speeds are excellent for an 80x drive and it works fine without the cap. I have been carrying mine around capless in my pocket with a scandisk cruser mini (from work) and my cell phone and have had no problems.
After over 2 years I have had no software problems, or reasons to reformat the drive. I'm even using it with the FAT16 preset.
If the 1GB version is like the 128MB version, don't pass this up!
I will change my review to reflect the 1GB version once I have tried it out.
*** UPDATE ***
I have been using the 1GB version w/o the cap and it is good as gold! I have no complaints so far!
Lexar JumpDrive a Bad Deal.......2006-01-08
My opinion: I purchased a silver Lexar JumpDrive Secure II 256MB several months ago (Wal-Mart seems to have an abundance of these units). For starters, the slim silver and black unit has major design flaws.
First, the hole for attachment to your key ring is so small and square that it will not fit my standard key ring.
Second, the attachment point is the cap of the Lexar unit, rather than the memory unit itself. Meaning, if the cap is accidentally separated from the unit, you are SOL - the memory unit is gone and you have a plastic cap dangling from your key ring (assuming you can get the cap to fit on a key ring).
Third, I found the "Secure II" software cumbersome and confusing. I could not successfully load and install the software and, therefore, never was able to utilize the security feature.
Lastly, the JumpDrive crashed and my computer generated a message asking if I wanted to "re-format" the drive. No thanks. Fortunately, all of my data was backed-up and I look forward to smashing my little Lexar with a hammer to vent my frustration. The USB flash drive is a great concept .... I just need to find a brand that has it together better than Lexar.
Watch out for the cap!.......2005-11-20
Hi. This device has made my life much easier to access my files at a moment's notice. I've had it for just over a year now. No major functional problems.
I usually have the device on a chain around my neck. A few months ago, I noticed that the cap had become slightly loose, probably from daily use. A few weeks later, I lost it and I've been capless since.
So, if you do invest in the Lexar jumpdrive, watch out for that slack cap!
