Product Description
With 2x Audio Playback delivering clear audio playback as the disc is played at double speed and the 3:2 pulldown system the DVD-P230 is a high quality addition to your entertainment center.
Amazon.com Product Description
Samsung's single-disc DVD-P230 DVD/CD player is perfect for favorite movies and music, featuring high-end component-video outputs, built-in MP3 and WMA (Windows Media Audio) decoding, and compatibility with JPEG image CDs and Kodak Picture CDs so you can enjoy a slideshow of digital pictures right on a television.
Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DVD-P230 stands ready to deliver the full potential of DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. In addition, top-of-the-line component-video outputs help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television.
A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. Another handy feature is EZ-View letterbox eliminator, which makes it easy to enjoy full-screen pictures on 4:3 aspect-ratio TVs--even when you're watching widescreen DVDs. Supplied accessories include a composite-video/stereo analog-audio interconnect, instruction manual, and a remote control.

Even after almost no use, it is now broken.......2006-07-20
I bought this unit for my mother-in-law, and I think she used it twice in the last three years. Now it's dead. I won't buy Samsung again.
Not as bad as they say, but it's not high end equipment to begin with.......2006-01-24
I purchased one of these several years ago for my office reception area. It has played, and played, and played and still looks great, never a problem since purchased in late 2001. The picture is very clear and sound is average for a low end unit. I have been in the professional video and audio production business for 24 years and I am a video/audio technician. We have professional DVD players and recorders in my studio and they really don't look that much better than the Samsung DVD-P230, 231, or the 331. It's a toss-up which one of the Samsung DVD players I would buy now! But if you want to spend a lot of money then yes, go with a high end Sony or Pioneer, they will be glad to take your money too.
A Lemon... Save Your Money For A Better Player.......2005-12-10
Although it's good to read that others have had the same problem(s) I've had with this unit, it's still sad to see that this remarkable hunk of junk suckered others in as well. As with most others, mine originally conked out approximately one year after I bought it. Fortunately, I had purchased the extended warranty plan and had it fixed. As I understood it, the laser inside the unit was defective and needed to be replaced. Okay, so maybe that's the case but then how do you explain that approximately a year and some months later I have the exact same problem? Like others, mine will display the loading screen for an eternity and then come up as "No Disc". Admittedly I use my player quite often, but still... I have a VCR that's over 10 years old and still plays as well as the day I bought it and it's gone through a lot more than this DVD player has. I'm sorry, but Samsung has gone down the tubes quality-wise and I urge you to look to another company (such as RCA or Sony - two manufacturers I've never had a problem with). Sad to say, it would cost twice as much to repair this unit as it would to replace it with a better brand - so it's to the trash with this hunk of garbage. I mean, really... a little over two years was all I got out of this? And that's with repairing it once halfway through those two years? Please. It's poor quality and bad manufacturing. This is a real piece of junk and, from what I've seen of their other products, a prime example of Samsung's lack of quality. Save your money and get a better player. Don't be fooled by this lemon.
Heap of Junk.......2005-10-10
This was a replacement for another Samsung that I previously owned that had tons of problems. In fact, I got this DVD Player refurbished as a result of Class Action suite against Samsung (several years back).
Well this replacement was just as bad, and Samsung got away with another lemon. I had intalled this particular player in my guest room; hence, it wasn't used as much (I've used it about 6 times) and after awhile, it just stop reading any of my DVD discs.
Unfortunately, I can not have it replaced since it only had 90 days warranty on it. Since this is the second time I had bad DVD Player from Samsung, I will never again patronize Samsung products. I'ts a waste of money.
sucks.......2005-06-25
concked out after a couple years. i didnt use it much at all. will play CDs and MP3s but no DVDs anymore. Customer service says i can mail it to jersey at my cost and pay $80 to fix, must put a check in the box when i send it. there are reviews on C/net where others had their players break after a few months too. Im done with Samsung products.

Product Description
High-resolution speaker cables deliver improved speaker system performance and let you hear more of the music. New Monster Cable Clear Jacket speaker cable establishes a new industry standard for high-performance speaker cables. This high-definition speaker cable features Monster's Time Correct windings for natural and accurate reproduction of the music in both amplitude and phase. By winding the high frequency conductors to create inductance at those frequencies, highs are delayed in time to pass through the cable at the same time with the slower lower frequencies. This develops the ability to capture lost phase-related information such as dimensionality, soundstage, imaging and depth.Magnetic Flux Tube construction reduces distortion-producing magnetic fields for more natural music reproduction. The dielectric, running down the middle of a connector bundle or a large insulated wire, "breaks up" internal magnetic fields that are strongest at the center, thereby reducing the time related distortions of conventional cable. The cable features large copper conductor area for better power handling and greater dynamics and punch to the music. Linear polyethylene (LPE) insulation reduces dielectric signal loss for smooth, extended highs. Overall, this cable delivers improved music reproduction from loudspeakers of all price levels and power amplification levels. It provides wide dynamic range, good bass response, extended frequency response, precise imaging, and great clarity.

Monster Clear Jacket Speaker Cable (20 Foot Pair).......2006-03-01
The cable was recommended to produce high quality sound and the results were incredible. My surround speakers brings the theater into my home.
Pro AV Installers Review & Guidelines.......2004-01-24
Monster has earned the respect of installers like myself around the world. Believe me, I have asked hundreds of them which cables to use for High End Audio in Home Theatre applications and 90% recommend "Monster". If you take your time and "FOLLOW THEIR GUIDELINES TO SETTING UP YOUR SYSTEM" you will notice a difference. The trained eyes and ears are looking(at projection system or TV)and listening(to the Speakers) for DISTORTION or INTERFERRENCE, BUZZES or HUMMS, ROLLS or WAVES that cause signal loss. Monsters "Niche" is in the TWISTS & STRANDS, and jackets!! The more twists and strands - the less interference. Monster twists 75% more times than any other MFG on average. OK-----The CORRECT way to set up your system is to follow the MFG's "Initial Setup" instructions! I cannot stress this enough. I read the entire manual. It's not that long(15 minutes). It will save you days of headaches & complaints about it not sounding "just right"... I highly recommend "ALL" cables to be Monster and home runs(Separate Runs to Each Speaker)& minimalize unnecessary cable rolled up behind speaker or receiver. This causes "Signal Loss!!" AND "Use the MFG's provided Tech Support Line for all Installtion questions. I have been doing this for almost 15 years and I might call a MFG 2-3 times during an installation.]
It's free, they designed the system, they know more about it that anyone else - Why Not??? Last, but not least words of wisdom, do not run your speaker cables along side or under/over an "AC" line...That is Power... Power lines or extension cords should be ran separate from all other cables!! If you can't avoid it, cross them over at a 90 Degree Angle... This minimizes inteferrence. So far as the reviewers remark about Market Hype. To each his/her own. I might have a Porsche and you a Chevrolet, or vice versa. THE COST EFFECTIVE WAY TO PURCHASE MONSTER CABLE is to go online and buy in bulk spooled quantity(100,200,500ft). Draw and Measure your installation paths of all cable runs and add 50-100 extra feet for Mis-Calculations or mess ups, and go to Radioshack and get the appropriate end connectors for speakers and Receivers at both ends and you will SAVE A TON OF MONEY!!!

I've been listening to these cables for just 1wk, but really I only needed 1 day on my Martin Logan Aerius's to know it was well worth the money. Excellent highs, and tight base. Easily painted to match your decor.

Good phone, but not a great one.......2004-11-17
Last year, I bout Panasonic TX-TG2224 which is a great phone. And I just bout this one cuz I wanted to have even greater one. Well, I didn't find anything better about this phone over TX-TG2224. This phone is about $40 more than the 2224 phone and this one is 5.8GHz instead of 2.4GHz. When I switched the phone from 2224 to this new one during the conversation, the other party complained about weaker volume. The ringer tone and melody is not that great, either. My old 2224 has better ringer options. This phone shoul've been priced just about $10 more than the KX-TG2224. If you are looking for a good phone w/ decent price, I definitely recommed KX-TG2224 over this one.
Good function, ugly appearance.......2004-06-22
First, the good news. Panasonic has fixed all of the problems the 2.4GHz phones experienced. They have finally seen the light and are using NiMH batteries. These are a huge improvement over the previous NiCad batteries. Sound quality is good, as is range. Setup is easy, and the features all work as they should. This phone functions so much better than the Siemens phone it replaces that there is simply no basis for comparison. Function early a solid five stars.
The bad news for many will be the appearance. What are the product stylists at Panasonic thinking and who do they imagine the buyer is? One wonders what sort of décor they imagine will be enhanced by bright silver phones with orange LCD screens and antennas sticking up everywhere? Before you buy one, make sure that any other decision makers in the household are consulted on the appearance. The icing on the cake is the rather large baby blue and black logo announcing to the world that this is the "5.8GHz Gigarange Supreme" which completes the overall cheesy appearance nicely. Our Siemens phone may have been had functional issues, but it was well styled and disappeared into virtually any background. On the other hand, the Uniden phones make the Panasonic styling look positively restrained. Appearance earns a dismal two stars.
Keypad layout is pretty typical of what one expects these days from Asian mass-market electronics companies, busy and cluttered. Why use a single button for talk/hang up when you can use a separate one for each? If there was space to add more buttons, rest assured Panasonic would have. Since the buttons actually feel good in use, are not overly sensitive and don't stick when pushed, the layout earns three stars.
In the end I weighted my rating more toward function, as that's really the only area one can be objective about, and the function is strong. If you can stand to look at it, and you're not married to someone that will hold a grudge because you brought something hideous looking into the house, you probably won't be disappointed.

Amazon.com Product Description
The remanufactured Panasonic KX-TG5210M cordless phone system is expandable up to four handsets, letting you outfit your house with a bundle of phones without dealing with crisscrossing wires or multiple phone jacks. The system comes with a single handset, but with each additional handset purchase, you can enjoy such benefits as a home-wide intercom, perfect for calling the family together for dinner; a page locator, which finds the misplaced handsets within a cluttered household; and four-way phone conferencing.
To ensure an elite-sounding connection, the system employs 5.8 GHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology, which operates in a less-trafficked wavelength than more common 2.4 GHz signals while still maintaining the same great security, topnotch clarity, and long range. Reception is further improved by Panasonic's Voice Enhancer circuitry, which helps clarify and improve reception by producing an easy-to-hear, natural-sounding voice, making the handsets sound crisp and intelligible even at a distance from the base. Plus, 5.8 GHz frequencies won't interfere with wireless computer networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g Wi-Fi.
This phone system is also equipped with an all-digital answering system for quick, easy retrieval of crystal-clear messages. Message operation has never been easier, with up to 15 minutes of recording time and up to three mailboxes, in addition to such features as a prerecorded outgoing message, remote operation, toll saver, and skip-and-repeat. And don't worry about losing your messages when the power goes out, as they're stored in flash memory for later retrieval.
Another nice feature is the caller ID/call waiting combo (subscription required). Caller ID lets you see who's calling before you answer the phone, while call waiting lets you know when another call is coming in. By combining the two, however, users will learn who's calling even when they're currently in the middle of a conversation with someone else. When you hear the beep, simply look at the handset's LCD display to identify the name and number. It's especially convenient when you're waiting for an important call but still have other calls to make.
The handset speakerphone, meanwhile, is a plus when dealing with automated phone systems. You can turn on the speakerphone, put down the handset while watching TV or typing, and then pick it back up when a voice finally responds. It's far more convenient than trudging all the way to the base unit to activate the speakerphone. There are lots of other uses as well, such as putting the whole family on the phone to talk to grandma or grandpa, or conducting a business call with several folks in the room.
Additional features include a 50-call memory and speed dial directory accessible through the handset's three-line backlit LCD, directory sharing with other handsets, caller IQ compatibility (the subscription service gives you screen updates on weather, sports scores, horoscopes, and more), three ringer patterns and four ringer melodies, and an antenna that lights up when the phone rings. The KX-TG5210M measures 4.9 by 9.2 by 10.4 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 90-day warranty.

Customer Reviews:
Very Disappointed.......2005-04-04
There was a great review written up above that listed everything you really need to know (the first one that had a series of titles and then review). But I belive they gave too many stars and was too positive about this cam.
This is not a very user-friendly camcorder. The MANUAL MUST be read over and over. It has so many steps to just do one action that by the time you have re-read the manual and adjusted the camcorder the shot is over with. Quality of pics and such was very poor once sent to the computer. The large screen wasn't much good in lighted scenes. I was forced to use the small lense to see what I was recording.
I do not recommend this camcorder unless you are not picky about quality and have a photographic memory to remember how to work the camcorder.
A Pleasure to Use.......2005-01-05
The Samsung SCD107 offers average-to-good video quality in a flexible, feature-laden package. If you are looking at camcorders south of $400, read on. Good engineering and rational design tradeoffs make this more than the sum of what came out of the parts bin.
PICTURE QUALITY
You can find better video quality (especially by paying a couple of hundred dollars more), but most people will find the picture satisfactory. If your research thus far has taken you deeply into the world of pixels, scan lines, VGA vs. XGA, and CCD numbers, this won't get on your short list on picture quality alone. That said, the camera works particularly well in low-light situations, and there is a "NITE PIX" feature for very low-light applications.
The "Digital Image Stabilizer" feature doesn't do much - if you have shaky hands, you should try a tripod (usually not a bad idea anyway). There is no manual focus, though you probably won't miss this because the auto-focus works so well. The 20X zoom is plenty, and the 900X digital zoom is overkill - the limiting factor is resolution, so don't expect to see footprints on the moon.
SCREEN
The first thing comparison shoppers notice is that the 3.5-inch color TFT LCD screen is bigger than most in this price range. This helps you frame a shot, gauge picture quality, and review just-taken film, all advantages over tiny screens. It is bright, clear, and rotates through 270 degrees (not 210 as stated in the supplemental info above). The color LCD viewfinder reproduces on-screen info and is a useful way to conserve battery power in the field.
EASE OF USE
Using the camera for the first time is fairly straightforward, even for the non-technical. The most commonly used controls are top-mounted (zoom, camera shutter control, NITE PIX feature on/off, slow shutter), where you would expect them. Other controls are located thumb-side or flush behind the LCD screen.
Getting more than the basics from the camera requires a steeper learning curve, as you must navigate through acronym-rich menus and sub-menus. Even if you pride yourself on NEVER reading instruction manuals, a word to the wise: Pick up the manual. Open it. Read it. If you don't, you will miss some non-obvious functions and features you're paying for. This may seem worse than, say, stopping to ask for directions while driving, but tough it out.
BATTERY
The lithium ion battery pack included gives you 90 minutes of continuous recording time with the fold-out LCD screen, or 120 minutes using the viewfinder. It takes two hours to charge. You might want a second one of these, or even the upgrade battery (SB-LS220), which goes 190 minutes with screen, 250 minutes with viewfinder, and takes 3 and a half hours to charge. A red LED on the camera blinks to let you know how charging is progressing (e.g. one blink/second means less than 50% charged; three blinks/second = 75%-90% charged), which is a nice touch.
RECORDING MEDIA
There are two ways to record moving pictures: Onto Mini DV tapes (60 or 90 minutes on a DVM60), or onto a memory card (SD/MMC or Memory Stick/Memory Stick PRO). Using the memory card in this way has huge limitations; you are better off just using the tapes and saving the memory card for still pictures.
STILL PICTURES
You can use the SCD107 in still camera mode for casual snapshots, but it is not a replacement for a multi-megapixel digital camera. The 512MB SD ("Secure Digital") card I bought separately holds 2,997 stills in "super fine" mode and a truly absurd 9,000 in low-rez "normal" mode. Stick with super fine.
AUDIO RECORDING
Audio recording quality is excellent through the built-in top-mounted stereo condenser microphone. Many built-in microphones pick up mechanical noise from the tape mechanism, but I didn't notice any, even in quiet settings. Use the money you might spend on an accessory microphone and get a tripod or a memory card instead.
MISC
The remote control is useful, but much more directional than a typical TV remote. It won't work unless you aim it right at the camera - maybe it just likes to be seen in your group photos.
CONCLUDING THOUGHTS
If you need the sharpest picture available, you should probably spend $200 more. There are necessarily tradeoffs at this price range. However, if you just want a well-rounded, feature-filled camera that is a pleasure to use, by all means consider the SCD107.
Funky color, grainy pictures.......2005-01-02
I'm not sure how people are giving this camera 4 and 5 star reviews but I was sadly disappointed with it.
The only reasons I'm giving it the two stars are: 1. The screen size and 2. The price.
I own a Samsung TV and DVD player and have found them both to be excellent values for the money so I decided to ignore the negative reviews that I had seen and pick it up anyway.
The picture looks great on the LCD screen assuming that you're at a good angle to view it but as soon as you put it on a tv or pc you will see the lack of image quality. The manual was poorly written especially in regard to transferring video via the Firewire/IEEE 1394 connection. The software it came with doesn't suppport the Firewire though it doesn't mention this at all in the camera manual. Also the camera's driver isn't verified for Windows XP. When I hooked it up via the USB the camera was dropped from the device list after about a minute due to driver.
After much hassle I returned it to the retailer that I bought it from who was nice enough to waive their 15% restock fee specific to camcorders and similar items so that I may purchase a Sony DCR-HC30 which I am much happier with. The store mananger explained to me that they had complaints from at least 5 other people with the same problem.
Some other things to note:
The SC-D107 has one of the biggest screens out there but also one of the smallest viewing angles.
It has one of the largest optical zooms for the price, which isn't much good if the recording quality is low.
Lastly, it has one of the largest digital zooms out there(900x), again useless because anything past about 100x is so grainy that you can't tell what you're looking at (you'll note that Sony doesn't make a camera with greater than 120x digital.)
Try to avoid this one if you can afford something better.
best camcorder ever.......2004-12-30
if you went onto [...] and looked this camcorder up it says that it is one of the worst camcorders ever, well i am never looking on that website again because it is all lies. i got this cam for christmas and i really like it, i think it is one of the best camcorders that u can buy, it has cool features, nice zoom, a 3.5 lcd screen (really good), it is a small camcorder, and it has night pix (night vision). many other reviews complain about the color not turning out, well, you can adjust the color so it matches, duh!, you may be thinking "oh this is just a kids review, dont listen to it" but trust me i have been getting information on this camcorder for a year and know what im talking about. if you are planning on getting a good camcorder for a good price, try this one.
Great LCD display but disappointing recording quality.......2004-12-20
I bought this camera about six months ago (June 04) for $429.00 and have used it extensively both outdoors and indoors.
I looked at many cameras in the $450 price range with similar features. The one thing that stood out on this camera was the 3.5" LCD display. It was so much easier to frame a scene with this than with the 2.5" display on competing models that I decided to buy the Samsung.
I found it easy and comfortable to use; the electronic stablisation works very well; the battery life is fine for recording a single 60min tape. Playing back recordings on the LCD screen is a pleasure. The image looks great and the sound is clearly audible on the builtin speaker. I was initially very happy with my purchase.
Imagine my disappointment then, when I got home and played back the recording on my TV - it was no better than my old analog Canon ES50. At first, I was sure I had hooked it up incorrectly. But alas no: I was correctly using the s-video connection.
Not willing to lose faith, I then hooked it up to my PC using a 4-to-6 pin firewire cable (purchased separately). Well, the picure looked fine in a small window but soon as I went full screen it was pretty grainy and pixalated. It's not even VGA quality.
My number one reason for buying a DV camera was to get a sharper picture than with my analog camcorder. I'm afraid I made the wrong choice and, despite some nice features, I cannot recommend this camera because of the disappointing picture quality. Incidentally, I notice that the specifications page in the manual says nothing about lines of resolution and the size of the CCD (according to camcorderinfo.com it is 1/6").

Customer Reviews:
Wonderful phone.......2007-04-09
This has been the best phone system I have ever had. The batteries were not hard to replace, I believe Radio Shack got them for me. My #1 button never had a problem. My only fault I found in them is not being able to turn off the ringer, I had to take the battery out in the AM. The great feature of private conversations was great as there are snoopy people here(at work)and if there was a phone of the hook,(we have the same numbers at my house, my parents house and our family business), all I had to do was pick up one of my phones and I automatically knew if it was off at my house or not and same at work. The biggest problem I had was my dogs chewed on the so I can't blame panisonic! I liked my system so much I got one for the business. It helped with the price going to Ebay and Amazon.
I love this system!.......2006-10-20
We've had this phone system for about 4 years, and it fits our business perfectly! However, there is a known problem with the "1" on the extention sets not working after awhile, and one of ours is like that. You have to punch the 1 several times before it acknowledges. There is no beep or tone until it works.... Other than that one problem the system is great. We have the 2-line system, so we can have one message for incoming calls on the business line and a personal greeting for the home line. I can transfers calls to another extension (handset)or to that handset's voicemail system. If that one problem we fixed I would have rated it a 5.
Found a solution for the #1 problem.......2006-02-17
This phone system is not bad for the price and the fact that installation and complex wiring is completely unnecessary. A voice mail alone for a phone system can run $1000 to $5000 alone. The voice mail in this system is not the greatest but beats a regular answering machine in many ways. The biggest problem with these phones is the keypad. It goes bad in the phones after a few years depending on usage. You have to find a replacement, have yours fixed, or purchase an entirely new system. Look for a repair company that installs an improved keypad NOT the original because Panasonic still to this day sells the same keypad with the same problem. Unfortunately there are a lot of companies perfectly happy to repair your phone with known defective parts just to save a little money.
Great Phone BUT............................2006-01-28
After searching for a replacement handset thinking that my kids broke the phone. (the #1 does not work on two out of 5 phones!!!) I am now learning that this is unfortunatly common.
#1 Button.......2005-09-07
Just ecohing the sentiments expressed here regarding the failure of the #1 key. This must be some sort of defect in all handsets as I have two, both of which have nonfunctional #1 keys. I am unhappy that I may have to spend $300 to replace these handsets which were not abused or used excessively. [...]
