I use this monitor at work from time to time, does all that is necessary for a workstation type situation, but is not one that will please gamers and heavy users of the computer/internet. It is minimally adjustable (change angle of tilt), but no height adjustment here are the simple specifications
brightness level 250 nits,
maximum 1024 x 768 resolution
Wide 130 degree viewing angles
450:1 contrast ratio
Should work good in a professional business environment, but less for home needs. Good price also.

Great unit for behind the NAT Firewall.......2003-08-30
All I did was plug it in and turn it on. I read a thousand reviews and this unit showed promise, I was shocked at the ease of installation!! Once I was online I was able to configure it through my web browser... Done!!
I combined this with the Netgear - WAG511 on a WinXP laptop.
May stump some real beginners to the networking field as the documentation leaves a little to be desired. I am able to get a strong signal from my porch and every room in my house.
Recommendations, combine this with a multi protocol PC Card to ensure that you get a good signal, add powered entenna's to strengthen the signal, locate this within eye shot of your favorite seat for maximum performance and remember that the internet moves at a much slower rate than this connection at 28% throughput.
Easy to install... but be sure you have all that you need..........2003-01-15
It took me less than 10 minutes to get this up and running with my DSL line and my two remote pc's (one I installed the HA 311 PCI card, and the laptop with HA 501 cardbus). I have XP, and it was pretty much plug it in, and let it go to work. Then came the bad part... I couldn't network the two PC's, plus only one could use the DSL line at a time. So I did my reseach and found that you need a router/gateway to act as firewall (so you don't need to firewall the two pc's and thus they can network effectively) and to also allow simultaneous use of the DSL connection. I bought a Siemans 4 port router (circuit city 29.99 after a rebate) hooked it between the DSL and wireless access point and voila! Safety and shared DSL! All this extra work could have been saved had the product info on the Amazon site specified the need for a gateway/router... but I didn't find that out until I opened the box where in the manual it stated that you needed it for 'the recommended configuration'. It was still a good deal though, with the HE 102 Access Point costing less than ..., and the gateway ..., it was still cheaper than the NetGear HR 314 Wireless Router that performs both functions in one unit, but, sells for ... so I saved about ... bucks by accident. By the way, performance is great, though one site only gets 8Mbps throughput and a bit weaker signal, as my house has metal framing, but it is still waaay better that a 56k dialup!!! And I just love walking around the house with my laptop untethered, it is ever so cool.
Easy to use, still not up to 802.11b range though........2002-12-03
This system was EASY to install. Basically, you plug it in and it broadcasts. It's speed level is fantastic. However, I found that its range was not nearly as good as with my SMC 802.11b system.
I am still glad I bought this product, but it is shocking to me that the system doesn't always get good reception from but one room away (It works, but not always particularly well).
I should mention how the system works speedwise. It's speeds are significantly higher than the 802.11b, but there is more of a lag. So, you might go to a website, get a slight lag where nothing shows up on the page, and then boom... it all appears instantaneously. I am sure that some of this delay is because I've created another point for data to go through - I am using this system through my SMC barricade.
The Netgear HE102 does NOT have a firewall built into it, and so you should really should route this system through one for added security.
So, should you buy and use this? Yes and no, depending upon your set-up.
NO: If you live in a big home where you don't have to worry about outside disturbances (ie multiple microwave ovens and 2.4 gig phones.) In this situation go with 802.11b for the greater range at a lower price.
YES: If you need to move massive amounts of data though your network. 802.11a is MUCH faster when it works, and you do notice the difference with larger files.
YES: If you live in a high density area such as a condominium were you have to worry about interference from your neighbors. This netgear system will bypass most interference since it operates at a higher frequency, and the lessend range actually becomes an advantage since it means you are less likely to get interference from other 802.11a systems as well.

I am writing this review from my second story bedroom about 50 feet or so from the access point. The speed is still great. Often better than what my company has through a T-1.
The set-up was very easy. One of the easiest installations I have ever had. It was not working at first, and just as I was ready to call Netgear I realized that I did not have the stupid cable modem plugged in to the access point. Once I plugged it in, I was rocking and rolling in literally seconds.

The HE102 is a great product that meets all of the expectations of 802.11a technology. Contrary to some other reviews here, this product does indeed work through walls, and work well! I am currently writing this on my laptop (with a netgear adapter) about 60 feet, one floor, and about 3 walls away. The utility shows about 18 MBPS transmit and 24 MBPS receive. Contrast that with the prior 802.11b system I also use that works at around 2-3 MBPS. The difference is that interference from our cordless phones do not kick off the signal randomly. Set up about 3 weeks ago and not one disconnect.
Ensure that you set up the infrastructure properly. The WAP setup screen defaults the NETID name to blank. Most adapters default to, oddly enough, "default". If you are having problems getting more that about 10 feet away, double check this.

I've had this little unit for a couple of years now. I've had no problems. I use rechargeable AAA batteries which last for quite a while in here.
Sometimes I wish this this little unit wasn't so durable; I run and bike with it in my pocket and I carry it around in a backpack that gets thrown around. It still plays great and has no cracks or problems other than a few scratches. If it didn't last so long, I could buy a newer, cooler unit with more features and more memory.
That's not to say this doesn't have enough memory. I've never really felt like it doesn't have enough space. I carry over 10 hours of spoken word (high compression - don't need the quality for speech). I still have room for 2 or 3 dozen high quality songs.
The only complaint I have is that the voice recorder records in wav format, so you can only record about 15 minutes IF you have nothing else in the player. You can't really use it to record lectures or speeches.
great little player.......2007-04-17
I've had this player for a couple of years now. It has never given me a problem. I use it at the gym, where is gets banged up pretty good. I love the size, it's the size of a cigarette lighter, and slips easily into my pocket. The 256MB is more than enough for a week of workouts. It is very easy to add and remove songs. The battery life is good. I purchased rechargable batteries because I use it so often.
The only downside is that I don't get great radio reception in the gym. I think it has more to do with the metal building. The 'joystick' is a little small and takes sometime to get used to, but that is to be expected considering the size.

Because it definitely takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I bought this MP3 player for my daughter for X-Mas '05. It gets thrown in her backpack for use at volleyball practice, it gets thrown on the bed when she gets home gets shoved into her pocket for short road trips, packed in with tons of crap in her purse for long road trips and never fails. What prompted me to write was what took place recently. After a game she threw her uniform and warm up jacket/pants in the laundry. I opened the dryer to retrieve her freshly cleaned clothes and a set of headphones fell out, naturally I KNEW the MP3 player was in their somewhere. I found it in her jacket pocket seeing the familiar little crack in the corner of the screen (made by use not shoddy workmanship). I dug the battery (that luckily hadn't exploded or something) out of the dryer and put it in the player. The screen lit up and it played the last song (something by the Pussycat Dolls) she was listening to, but nothing else. I thought for sure it had met its demise. I removed the battery and placed the MP3 player on top of the dryer hoping the warmth would help dry it out and it might work. The thing works like nothing happened!........I had to write and say that the whole family owns Sandisk MP3 players and we love them. Absolutely no faults....You can't go wrong!

I ordered this mini F-Pin cable for my bedroom TV. I was using a 'generic' standard F-pin cable to my bedroom TV and the signal was very bad - I had interference, moiré patterns, and ghosting. Replacing my generic cable with this Monster Video mini made all the difference. My picture is clear and interference free now, and the cable is so think that it sort of disappears from view, unlike the unsightly black cable that I used to have. I like the 90 degree turn on one end and small profile, which allows me to let my furniture hug the wall against my cable jack.
At first I was worried about whether such a thin (i.e. not well insulated) cable would pick up transient noise, but this cable performs much better than the standard cable. I highly recommend this cable. However, please note that if you run this across your floor, the thinness and lightweight nature of the cable might cause it to get tangled up in your vacuum cleaner.

This cable performs with minimum loss, even though its diameter is only about 3/16". Compared with RG-59 black cable of the same length on UHF channels or VHF channels, I could find no difference. I expect it is for indoor use.
The ivory color and small diameter makes the cable easy to hide and the cable is very flexible. The connectors seem well made. Pricy, but worth it for exposed locations. I know of no other similar product.

Note the Athlon processor and VIA chipsets - on the system board - have shown problematic with this device. If you do not have these, there is question - in my tests - that this is the best USB WiFi client on the market. It provides greater range than the others and is very easy to install and configure. The software, however, does not support WPA so you will need to use a third-party wpa supplicant (understood as client) or the built-in Windows XP WZC (wireless zero configuration).
The device is fast, reliable and compatible. I tested it with thirteen different access points, as I do all client devices I test, and it worked with all of them and provided approximately the same throughput. This device is not as fast as the buffalo cardbus wifi clients, but if you're using a desktop and don't want to plug in a PCI card, this is about the best way to go.

This USB wireless adapter worked and still works like a charm. Installation is a brease and works on every computer and laptop I tried it.
Pros:
1. Great operation
2. Catches excellent signal over long distance due to the external antenna
3. Virtually plug and play
Cons:
1. The little prop-up antenna can break easy. The plastic is not too strong
2. If you switch USB ports it will ask for the driver again!
3. Does not work with Linux, but I did not fight with it too much!

This item does not actually have a hardware based WPA security nor the deciphring capabilities of WPA such as TKIP and AES.Do not use the software provided from Netgear. Use it only to install its drivers. Use XP's wireless utility program and YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SET WPA security.
This utility implements this security via software, which just as good as the hardware based, and of course with greater flexibility. This adapter with all WPA compatible devices are most likely to be forward compatible when WPA 2 comes into implementation using XP's wireless utility.

I've had nothing but trouble with this adapter on my system. My system locks up constantly if it is connected. Apparently, a lot of other people with Athlon systems are having the same problem - so buyer beware.
