I have carried this PDA in my front pocket for three years. After numerous collisions with furniture and such, it still works as new. The metal case and folding design keep me from replacing this with a newer PDA. My only complaint would be the lack of Mac support.

Long-term fan of CLIE NX70V.......2005-08-06

I just had to put in a good word for this product. I've had it for 2 and a half years and it keeps me sane. I love all the bells and whistles that go along with it- i'm always able to keep busy during "downtime". From pic and vid capability, to the mp3 player (and voice recording), to email, to scheduling and various Palm related tools- this product has been well worth the investment!

I'm trying to hang in there as long as I can before I move on to the next model.

I think it's pointless to go on and on when writing a review so I'm gonna keep this short:
The Sony clie peg-nx70v is one wonderful piece of equipment.
I found that I extremely liked some of it's features like the compact design with the rotating screen, the thumb keyboard, the icon lay out, the camera/video recorder, and the voice recorder.
However, I rate it only good not great because of the annoying weight, how prone it is to being damaged, it's batery which tends to die rather quickly, and it's price.

Overall, I recomend the Sony clie peg-nx70v to most anybody!

This thing has more buttons & bells than I'll ever use! I'm glad I bought a book "How to use Your Clie". The included paperwork doesn't begin to explain everything you can do. Screen display is sharp & clear. I like using Graffiti to enter data rather than the keyboard. (You have three entry methods to choose from.)

Unbelievable technology!!! Great sony software to improve the useability and increase the features available. Incredible leadership by Sony, very innovative. I purchased mine for $299 a display model at a local retailer, I had a 32 mb memory stick from a video camera I had, I have only had the CLIE for a few days but its wonderful, I have not tried to sync it yet, for mac you need the program the Missing Sync for 30$ you can download it I haven't yet, but I have read good reviews and it seems like a solid program.

No complaints, it seems that something like this should costat least $1500. The software that Sony provides for it is excellent Bravo Sony!!! I purchased the Zire 71 which is also an excellent product at a great price around $249, but if you can get the Sony for anywhere close to $369 or more its still a great deal.

Wrong description. Product is NOT for PEG-NX70V/U.......2007-01-09

Although the description of this item indicated that it is for the PEG-NX70V/U Sony Clié, it is NOT. I tried to install it and it just erased all the data in the PDA and was not at all a replacement for the original battery. The PDA would remain with a blinking screen all the time and nothing else. I'm sending it back for a refund. I gave it 1 star because this site does not allow you to give the item a lower rating.

tghis was the top of the line awhile ago. It still kicks most pdas butts but the high end ones can be campoared but un noticeable difference.(expect for 802.11B) but 8.02.11B can still be gotten on this thing for $150 extra. Get a load of this people say that the nx80v is better but they did not look at specs. for example the processor notice in this baby is 200MGZ not to mention made by intel and in the 80 it is frekin 66mgz i mean what is that crap!. Too bad it was disscountuned tough. Sony still has full support for it though

UPDATE 12/04 - I still use this crazy PDA every day. This PDA becomes MUCH more interesting if you update (i.e. replace) all the non-CF compatible files with new ones. You'll need a program called Filez off of freewarepalm.com and some files you can find if you type "pelaca mirror" into Google. You will be able to upgrade Clie Files, Clie Camera, Movieplayer, and other odds/ends so they work with CF cards. Buy a 1 or 2 GB CF and you're golden.

Also, highly recommend you pick up a Hagiwara memstick 802.11 card. They're only $49 at Mobileplanet (don't think Amazon sells them). Run don't walk to get one of those.

The NX is still top-notch in technology and use. The screen blows away everything I've seen...I highly recommend this device...because it can do just about everything...it has loads of upgradeability in it...You won't be disappointed...

Get a screen protector because my graffiti text area is starting to sound really scratchy after 2 years of use...

Don't waste your money on a lesser PDA.......2003-01-05

The functionality of this PDA is almost that of a laptop. I simply carry this wherever I go, and if I need a camera, it's got one - a video recorder - it's got one, a dictation machine - it's got one, .......... need I say more. People may say that this is overpriced, but not if you compare the functionality.

Poor equipment.......2007-08-02

1.The wireless signal doesn't seem to be all that great.
2. the internet access controls do not work or work only when the router is in a good mood.
3.Quite frequently (1-5x per week) the router drops the LAN for no obvious reason, so that it has to be turned off and on. Takes about 2-3 Minutes, before the connected computers are then online again.

Conclusion: Stay away from this alpha-version.

And yes- I did upgrade to the latest firmware 1.4.1.13. Of course, the "automatic" function, which is supposed to find firmware upgrades, did not find it. Had to download it and then install it from the local file...

When "Reset" Means Reset.......2007-06-11

I experienced progressive deterioration in the performance of my WGT634U over two years and through perhaps three firmware updates. When the router finally would no longer access certain secure sites and continually dropped both secure and non-secure links, I delved into the instruction manual and discovered the caution to be sure to "reset" the router to default values after a firmware update. I had never done this before (I thought "reset" meant unplugging and replugging the router into the power source). After looking for and not finding a reference for resetting the default values inside the web-based interface, I reset the router using the "push" button on the back of the router. Now, the router is working perfectly!!!

Since it is typical to update firmware right out of the box when installing a router, I can only conclude that my installation problems with the WGT634U started when I first installed the router with a firmware update without resetting it to the default values two years ago.

"My Bad" for not reading or taking the time to understand the instructions. "Netgear Bad" for not being clearer in the instructions for so critical an item ... or, for not including an automatic reset to default values as part of a firmware update.

This thing is awful..........2007-04-20

I should have listened to the warnings on the other reviews before I bought this, the worst router I have ever used (I install routers as part of my job). I saw the reviews telling how many problems they had, but I thought maybe those people didn't know what they were doing or they had not upgraded the firmware properly, etc. They were right...I upgraded several times to the latest firmware and still, it has to be rebooted at least daily, sometimes every 2 days. The wireless signal is awful...and I didn't even try using it as a network attached storage because of all of the other problems, and that is the entire reason why I bought it in the first place!

I finally gave up after a week or so and went back to my Linksys WRT54G wireless router, the defacto standard for wireless home networks (and small busines).

Netgear, this router should be recalled and replaced.

Not my favorite router.......2007-02-28

I do not have any favorable comments to make about this router. The USB Connected drive is extreamly slow accross the LAN, In order to read and write to the drive it must be formatted as FAT32. NTFS drives are read only, it took some time to figure that one out. I tried changing the network from the standard 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.5.1, the router stopped working, Once I got beyond 13 forwarded ports they stopped showing up in the list, yet they were still there and you could not edit or delete them. I had to do a factory reset and start all over. I constantly have to reset the router to get my Internet connecton working again, sometimes outbound Internet works but no inbound therefore no VOiP or inbound mail to my email server, once again I have to reset it. I have updated the firmware 4 times since owning the modem, no luck there. I have had similar issues with the WGT624 V3 router. Netgear used to be my favorite manufacturer back when I had the RT314. It is now time to move on.

Netgear Wireless Router USB Hardrive.......2006-02-26

I purchased this router specifically for the ability to attach a hard drive to the router and have access to this hard drive via ftp. This router has worked great! Instructions were suspect (as they always are).
The biggest caveat is that the drive can NOT be formatted NTFS. Other than that, it's great!!!
