Perfect CDs for Labeling.......2004-03-25

When buying these CDs, I was concerned about how well the Avery labels would stick to them. They have no problem whatsoever and work great. Of about 25 CDs I've used, only 2 have been bad thus far. I highly recommend these CDs because they are by far the best I have used.

They Work Fabulous, Even for Music.......2003-06-08

With a Macintosh and Toast you can use these to burn photos, or copies of your LPs, or other stuff that's probably illegal. No need to buy the more expensive media. The music ones play well in my 16-year-old CD player as well as my newer one. The photo ones do well on my iMac and on a friend's PowerMac. I haven't tried these on PCs, but I wouldn't touch those with a ten-foot pole, anyway. I'm hoping to try these to make video CDs with to send video mail to my friends and family who are far away. I have every confidence they will work.

Obviously, these don't come with jewel cases. I personally find them unnecessary, since I store mine in notebooks in binder pages specially made for storing CDs. (see Fellowes, which Amazon.com sells.)

All-in-all, these are very inexpensive storage media. Writers can copy their books and articles on these, and mail them off to their editors, or an artist can copy their portfolio on these and send them off to art directors, all using just a 37-cent stamp!

One other note, my burner, an Iomega zipCD, only burns at 4X, and these CD-Rs are rated for 48X. They work anyway, so I'm not sure the number makes a lot of difference.

Great toy if you have Windows 98.......2000-04-03

I purchased the Rio 500 and love it. It is the coolest things since sliced bread, BUT. I travel a lot for work and use a Win 95 laptop. The Rio 500 does not support the USB uploads from or to a Win 95 machine. This stinks. All in all though, I think that the Rio 500 is a great toy.

My wife even thinks so.

Ok, if you are interested in this product, I'll assume that you already own a Rio, so I guess I can't try to talk you out of that.

GOOD - Small, easy to carry around, cheap compared to OTHER flash memory manufacturers.

BAD - Expensive compared to CD-R, MD, etc.

UGLY - Bad memory clusters will cause skips over time.

Basically, if you have a Rio, and need more memory, this is the stuff to buy. Don't try and find Camera flash cards, and figure out how to use them in your Rio. That would not only be a nuscence, but also would end up costing you more. If you don't own a Rio, and are considering buying one, take a look at my reviews of the PMP300 and the PMP500.

A Rio with only 32mb is pretty hard to enjoy since it can only hold about eight songs at once. With the extra 32mb smartmedia your Rio can hold about as much music as a cd. Another good thing is that with the price of the Rio going down, it costs less to get the Rio PMP300 & a flash card than to buy a 64mb mp3 player.

The Viking 32 MB SmartMedia memory card is an excellent quality card that works as promised. Its suppliers deliver my orders at the speed of lightening or e-mail. I've used the Viking SmartMedia cards exclusively for the last two years without a single problem. The photos are clear. I have no problem retrieving them off the card. My Olympus Digital 3.0 MP Camera D550 records about 350 photos at 640X480 resolution. The Viking price on Amazon.com is the best on the market.

Was Expensive But Serves Well.......2002-10-09

I had bought this 32 MB card way back in 2002. At that time such cards were very expensive. Added to that I had ordered a camera with this card which Amazon did not ship!! So I had yo keep the card unused till I could buy a compatible camera from them.

The card is still serving me well, no complaints so far!

I have had mine for awhile now and can't think of being without it. I use it mainly for my digital camera. I take allot of pictuers so it gets lots of use. Its like haveing a hard drive for my photos. The transfer rate is fast and flawless. I am going to order a few more just to have them. You know I trust it when I used it for the photos of my daughters wedding. I have some that were more expensive but they don't work any better then this one does.
