It works.......2006-10-26
Yes, it's expensive - I don't know if it's overpriced though. The important thing is that it works. I had thought I could easily make my own swabs from the "other" company's pads and then use the expensive solution to clean the sensor on my homemade pad. It doesn't work. Yesterday I got these swabs and the vdust formula. I followed the instructions - wiped with the dry swab, put two drops of fluid on the swab, counted to thirty and wiped once. Then I took a picture of the sky and looked for the spots, There were none.
I have a lot of money in my EOS20D with lenses and other accessories. A lot more than I thought I'd ever have in a camera. So - the price of these things was high but worth it to have my camera take clean pictures.

Straw opening is too narrow........2006-01-25
I purchased 3 dual packs of compressed air for blowing out dust inside of computers that I work on. The price is very good but the shipping time could be improved.
The only problem with this product is that the opening in the straws that come with each can are too narrow. This greatly reduces the amount of pressure. It does conserve air in the can, but in some instances I really need a big blast of air. In these instances I just remove the straw.
Overall a good product, but I wish the straws had larger openings.

The phone has a lot of features, slick design and other extras that other phones dont. However, unfortunately I never had a chance to use it, since it arrived defective. The battery would not charge at all. I had to return it for a refund. I dont think I am going to consider buying another Siemens phone again. I would rate their customer service support 7 on the rate from 1-10 with 10 being the best.

Great phone for the money. Big sound improvements over the old 4100 series, very easy menu and phonebook management if one is used to cell phones. I use Siemens triband cell phone and for me switch to Gigaset was seamless. Siemens does have more superior design and user interface than Panasonic. The rest of features are a matter of taste and personal preferences, such as sound which is very natural in Siemens, cell phone like operations and size. Stay away from 3501 if you are used holding your phone between your head and a shoulder. Also, do not pay more than 99 dollars as even Siemens website sells it in US for under a hundred.
Excellent full featured phone with some usability problems.......2003-11-24
The SL3501 is the upgrade to the Siemens 4215 series and carries over most of the 42XX series characteristics. The upgrade solves some of the 4215 issues but gives it the one thing it really didn't need, a smaller handset. I've owned the 4215 for about 2 years. When the base died, I started shopping for another phone. The T3501 was attractive because I could use my two 4200 handsets. However there were a lot of things I didn't like about the 4215, so I shopped around purchasing a total 3 different phones before coming back to the Siemens.
Here's how the 4215 compares to the SL3501:
Sound quality - The 4200 handsets have excellent sound quality, perhaps too good. Siemens choose not aggressively filter out the higher frequency range, so you clearly hear the background hiss inherent in any wireless device. They have nicely corrected this in the SL30 (the included handset). You can hear some background noise, but not a lot. They had to sacrifice some high frequency but the result is a more balanced sound with less noise. A worthy trade off.
Head set jack - An inexcusable omission on the 4200 has been corrected in the SL30. However, it's a proprietary jack for Siemens headsets only. They soften the blow by including an ear bud type headset. For around the house, I much prefer the full size headset with a boom mic. The included headset is functional but I could never get it loud enough or find a comfortable spot in my ear.
Answering Machine Voice Quality - The 4215 answering machine has some of the worst sound quality I have ever heard. There are 2 quality settings, both are pretty bad. The SL3501 improves the quality, but only a little bit. Siemens still lags behind Panasonic and others in this area.
Easy Access to volume - To access the volume control, it's a multi key stroke operation that requires you view the display. This makes it pretty impractical to use while on a call. Sadly this is just the same on the SL30. Two small buttons on the side of the phone would have solved this, URGH!
Base, what Base? - The 4215 base was already pretty small and discrete. Plus it doubled as handset charger. Since accessing the base was all performed through the hand set, there were no controls on the base. In the SL3501 they have taken this one step further and separated the base from the handset charger. Like the 4215 there are no controls on the base (expect page and handset registration) so the base can be placed discretely out of site, or centrally located for better reception. While this is nice, it contrasts with many other phones where the base serves and primary location for access to messages as well as serving as a speakerphone. The Panasonic 5.8 has a particularly nice base which really adds a lot to their over all package.
The Competition
As I mentioned, I tested 3 other phones which were the Panasonic 5.8ghz, AT&T 5.8, Motorola 2ghz. Of these, the Panasonic as was the clear winner. The AT&T was nice, but there was bad echo on all calls. Plus I could never get the speaker quite loud enough. The Motorola was not even close. The sound quality was horrible and the directory could not easily be transferred between phones.
Comparing the Panasonic to the SL3501
Sound - The Panasonic has exceptional sound. Like the SL30 the higher frequencies are trimmed back to cut the background noise. However it's more noticeable on the Panasonic. To my ear, the Siemens does a better job handling the hiss, while still retaining some higher frequency. But I'd have to give the Panasonic the nod for overall sound quality which is richer and fuller. The larger handset probably helps this by giving the speaker some "cabinet space".
Speaker Phone - Sorry, but the SL30 speaker phone is not that good. It's not very loud and gets choppy when there's ambient noise in the room. The speaker phone on the 4200 is better. The Panasonic's speaker phone is still better yet. It's loud and clear.
Access to the Dialing Directory
On the Panasonic you access the directory with omni dial, which requires 2 separate steps (down, then right). Most of the time, I got it wrong resulting in 5-8 button presses just to get to the directory. On the Siemens its one button and you are there, much easier!
Voice Messages and Caller ID
On the Siemens, there is a small red flashing LED that signals either messages or calls have been received. You access the call log and the messages with one button. Reviewing the messages and calls clears the flashing LED for all phones. On the Panasonic, the messages are indicated by a small flashing number on the display and a flashing LED on the base. If you are only looking at the handset you could miss it. The caller ID calls are all handled individually by the base and the handsets. If you answer the call on one handset, all the others mark it as "missed call". You have to clear the "missed" calls on all the handsets individually otherwise each handset always indicates that new caller ID calls have come in, even if they were answered or cleared on another handset. This makes the "new call" indication pretty much useless. Also, the Panasonic doesn't lookup the caller ID numbers to the names listed in the directory. The Siemens does this which is particularly useful for cellular callers where the name is listed as "wireless".
Summary
The SL3501 is a nice upgrade to the 4215. Many will find the handset too small, but fully functional. It has great sound, rich features and performs well. It has excellent integration with caller ID and the messages making more a phone "system" rather than a phone/answering machine combo. Sadly the German engineers didn't fix the 4200's usability issues and still haven't added a standard headset jack.
Great phone system for the houseshold.......2003-09-10
This is a great phone system for the household. The two-way speakerphone is of a superlative quality, the included headset makes for a nice handsfree experience when walking around, and the Direct Inward Dialing (DID) feature is great for callers to locate the exact person they are trying to reach in the household. The only thing I don't like is that if you have call waiting, you must hit the "MEM" button to switch back and forth between calls, rather than hitting the "Talk" button. This seems a bit odd to me, and this information is nowhere to be found in the owner's manual...I had to call Customer Service to find out about this.

This is a great set of headphones especially when looking at the price. They have excellent sound quality and bass. I ordered them after using a pair that a friend owned. I do not regret it in the least. The extra long cord comes in handy and they are very comfortable to wear. When music is on you can't hear any outside noise. These are great!
Very Uncomfortable and Inaccurate Sound.......2007-09-24
I am surprised by the high rating these headphones have received. I based my decision to buy these on the reviews. I don't know what shape heads you guys have but these cans just crushed the sides of my head. The fact that the cups don't fit completely around the ears did not help.
Sound wise, there was almost no midrange at all. Instruments did not all come through the sound and while bass was fairly strong it was mainly thumping and not pleasant.
I'm surprised Sennheiser would even want to tarnish their name with these inferior headphones. I most definitely recommend trying a different pair.
Will not last.......2007-09-22
The headphones sound OK, but mine (and others) fail at the plug--and you get low volume or one-channel or cutting out. Because of the way they are constructed, they cannot be easily repaired. The Sennheiser web site does not sell replacement plugs or cables for these units and in fact offers no guidance or comment on this probem at all---even though it is a common mode of failure. Once this failure happens, your investment is essentially lost.

The audio quality with these headphones is pretty amazing. Even low quality music files play at their best through these headphones. They're quite comfortable too, so I definitely reccomend them.

I like these headphones enough that I've just bought my 3rd pair of them. One for my office, one for my home, and now, one for my fiance. (He tried mine out and loved them -- and he's hard of hearing! He couldn't believe how much better he could hear with these. (And this is by comparison with the $100 set of Sennheiser headphones that he bought a couple of months ago that with a microphone attached.)
The sound is very clear and the padding around the ears does a reasonable job of muffling outside sound. I bought them for using with meditation discs with embedded sound technology to enhance the experience. I figured if I was getting fancy CDs, I should have decent headphones to actually get whatever the "enhanced sound" was. The difference in using the discs (ie, the depth and quality of meditation as well as sound) between my old crappy headphones (10-15 yrs old), the itty bitty earbuds that came with my ipod, and THESE are enormous. The Sennheiser sound SO much better than my old ones. They also sound better than my (brand new) ipod earbuds and are INFINITELY more comfortable.
Yeah, we're definitely happy with these.

Very unreliable and discontinued product.......2007-09-20
I purchased this router expecting great performance, range and security.
I ended up being a very frustrated customer, getting used to power cycle this every 2 hours after losing connectivity. It's very obvious that it's all related to software bugs. Nevertheless, Netgear did not release any new firmware to this product for over a year.
This is my 2nd Netgear router and been frustrated with the old one yet was too optimistic to try this one. Quality sucks!
I'm enforced to buy a new router but this time I'll go with one that supports Linux 3rd-party firmware. Thinking of Linksys WRT54GL.
At least I won't have to wait forever for the manufacturer to deliver new firmware (even though it's clear from the support site that there are updates all the time - that's what I call a reliable platform).
A tale of routers, big and small........2007-08-11
I've worked with many different routers both professionally on big networks and at home for my own network. For home, I've had the best luck with Netgear and the WGT624 was no exception. I got it out, did the minimal install stuff, and it was up and running. So far it is working great with excellent signal strength. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to others, especially those who really need a plug in and go device.
Worked okay for about a year or so..........2007-07-30
My first experience with Netgear routers was with a RP614(?). I used it for about a year with no problems. Then I got a laptop so I decided to get a Netgear WGT624 so that I could have wireless access for my laptop. I've been using it for a little over a year and now it's started dropping connection. At first I wasn't sure what was causing the "Network Cable Unplugged" message but then I looked at the router when this happened and saw it appeared to be rebooting. There was no power outage, or any other reason for this to happen. Sometimes it happens several times a day, sometimes not at all. Meanwhile, I gave my old RP614 that had been sitting on a shelf for a year to a friend. It no longer worked! It worked fine when I stopped using it but somehow "died" sitting on the shelf. I thought maybe there was a problem with the friend's internet setup, so hooked it back up to my modem, identical to previous setup, and would not work. Looking for a new router but will not buy Netgear again.
Excellent router with lots of features.......2007-07-17
Bought this router to replace a piece of junk Linksys WRT54G. The WRT54G, like every other Linksys I've ever had, needed to be rebooted constantly and had poor features and range.
The Netgear has at least twice the range and rarely needs a reboot.

I was reading a review about how this does not work with the xbox 360, and i just wanted to tell anybody who cares that it does. I just hooked it up and played a game of halo. My room is about 50 feet away from the router and i only get 3 bars, which is ok. I also have a ps3 and wii, but have not tried to hook those up yet. the only reason why i gave it 4 stars was because i only get 3 bars, but it's probably something that i did and not the router itself. A good website to check out is cnet.com, they gave it a 7.9 out of 10, which is a good rating.
