With this set of remote headphones ,you can listen at one volume and others can listen at another volume . excellent construction and excellent warranty with Sennheiser . Batteries good for 4 to 5 hours and are rechargable .Batteries will last up to 1 1/2 years .

Better than most.......2005-08-18

I've had these headphones for over two years now and I must say they have stood up against time very well. At first they feel quite flimsy but I've fallen asleep with them on many times and the only thing that happens is the right can pops off, but it can easily be snapped back in. Sound quality is fair, I do get a low level of static even when close (3-5 feet) to the base. Range is not even close to advertised, I'd guess mine get about 20-25 feet in my home, with walls being a very important part of the equation. They are pretty comfortable, extremely lightweight and get very loud for their size. Bass is lacking though, and as one reviewer mentioned, they are "open" headphones which means other people nearby can hear them even when listening at a low volume.

The one gripe I have about these headphones is that they do not sit on the base very well, perhaps due to how long I've had them, but they sometimes won't charge on the base because the contacts slip off. I bought an extra battery (which I highly recommend if you forget to charge the unit, like me) to charge in the back of the base, which is a nice feature.

i have owned the45s for three years now ,and when hooked up through you VCR you can have separate volume controls .I have found it necessary to send them in once as the ear piece broke off,the company was great to work with and I had a new pair in 5 days.I have used the same batteries for over two years .The only problem I is I would rather have a button switch for picking up the proper range rather then a small revolving control .This is only a personal opinion however.It is so pleasant to watch the television at whatever volume you desire and the wife can listen at another volume. Dealing with Sennheiser is a pleasure !!

Mixed feelings - Don't buy it in Greece.......2004-02-27

I was given this headset as a gift and I was really excited. I connected it to my computer immediately, and used it to listen to MP3s while doing other stuff around the house or even washing the car outside (I am only on the 1st floor however). I also used it for listening to TV and watching DVDs without disturbing the rest of the family.

The sound quality was great when the headphone had an unobstracted (direct) line of sight with the transmitter, but I got some static while moving around behind walls etc. Overall, I am very satisfied with both the quality of the sound and the reception distance.

On the other hand, I am not particularly satisfied with the overall manufacturing quality, namely the plastics used and the feel on my ears. I prefer the leather-like headphones because they are easier to clean after use. Wearing the headphones was also a bit ackward at first, as they pressed a little too hard against my head (got used to it in the process however).

One word of caution however. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IN GREECE. It broke down and then hell broke loose. There is no Sennheiser in this country and the service center of the seller (Nakas) is located hours away from me. Since I am in the capital rather than a rural area, I dread to think what would have happened to a guy from a small town in a similar case. Also, Avitech (another service center I was referred to), received my money beforehand only to inform me the device can't be fixed. I had to through it away and go for a Sony instead.

Reliable Wireless.......2004-01-10

I have used amazon reviews to determine what type of headphones to buy for the price range I wanted - I considered the mixed reviews and gave Senn RS-45 a chance. I am happy to report I am 100% happy with the quality of the sound, the range, and the ease of set up (even my iPOD works with it!)

Wireless can't be perfect.......2003-11-07

I bought this product to be able to watch tv without disturbing my wife who doesn't like background noise when she's reading. For that purpose the Sennheiser RS-45 is great. I can sit wherever and move freely without being constrained by a cord.

But don't expect too much. If you move around, there will be few disturbances in reception, just as there would be if you are moving around with a portable radio. Next room the reception is not too great, so you can forget about going to the basement with the headphones if the transmitter is somewhere else.

In short: if you're looking for perfect sound quality, get regular headphones with a cord. If it's more important for you that you can move around a bit, the Sennheiser RS-45 is a good option.

Headphones.......2007-03-12

Got two sets and love them. Sound quality is good. It's wonderful to be able to hear the TV clearly without having the volume up extra loud. Marriage saver as one of us stays up late, the other goes to bed early. Got a set for my dad and he loves being able to understand the words on TV for the first time in years. Recharging cradle is good feature. Large ear pads block outside noise. Comfortable to wear.

This is a good product, good value... and a great way to have a quiet household
and still get the great full sound experience. Great for people with
low hearing levels... can be adjusted at the head set.
The only Neg. is that it dosent sit properly in the recharge
holster...so you need to make sure the charge signal comes on.

I,m impressed with it. The system covers the whole house. Many other brands only work in the same room. It sounds better also. They seem cheap because there very light, but there are built well. The cradle can be better but it works good still. IT IS WORTH THE PRICE!!! I have spent several times as much on other brands that failed or were just no good garbage.

The Best Wireless Headphones I Have Found to Date.......2006-11-25

I bought these headphones about 4 years ago when they first came out and I have been extremely pleased with them. I paid full price for mine and when I found out Amazon had these on sell I quickly put in an order for another set. The set I have now became damaged in a recent move (one of the ear pieces broke off from the head band) and although I was able to somewhat repair mine, I could not resist the urge to buy another set for only 40 bucks!

After reading some of the reviews here it sounds like these units have been sitting on a shelf for some time and the batteries have extended their shelf life. The units come with two batteries and there is a pocket on the back of the receiver to store and charge the spare battery while it is not in use. In fact, I never put my headphones in the cradle to charge the battery; I just rotate the battery in and out of the back of the receiver as needed. I typically get about 3 hours of use to one charge; once the battery is spent, I switch it out with the one in the receiver and keep going. Usage time will vary according to how loud you like to listen to your music. I listen to mine quite loudly as I have a 30% hearing loss.

After trying other wireless headphones, I highly recommend these for the price even if the batteries are toast. You can get replacement batteries on line for as little as 20 bucks. If the vendor here on Amazon will not replace them try or you can do a search on Google for other vendors.

THX quality on a budget.......2006-06-05

I purchased the VR-9070 nine months ago after finally deciding to upgrade from my ten year old Kenwood KR-V6070. Desire for Digital sound had finally crested enough for me to plunk down the dough even though my old receiver was still in great working order.

I looked at a few Sony models before settling on this Kenwood due to its price and how well my 10 year old Kenwood receiver had faired. For the price I was surprised to find a THX certified receiver that matched all my other criteria (Dolby/DTS digital decoder, adequate wattage, subwoofer connection & silver casing).

The 9070 sounds great in Digital & Pro Logic settings. I did notice a significant drop off of deep bass compared to my other receiver and I ended up purchasing a JBL sub sooner than I anticipated in order to rectify my bass needs. DVDs sound great in big action scenes, and there is good separation between channels.

The menu is rather unintuitive and difficult at first when attempting to change settings. I am rather disappointed there isn't a simple bass/treble feature. Instead, there are several different settings to navigate through in order to tweak your set-up.

I had some difficulty getting the Digital audio signal from my DVD player to work at first, but finally figured out that if your DVD player has a digital decoder built in as most do these days, then it has to be turned off for the 9070 to recognize and output a digital signal.

The aluminum case is heavy-duty and looks sleek. The flip down cover on the front keeps it looking nice and clean. The blue led display is just the right brightness and looks slick with the silver case. I only wish the connections on the front were also covered.

It does run rather hot, especially in Digital mode. I have about two inches clearance above the receiver and have had no problems with overheating even when running it over 4-5 hours. It does exude quite a bit of heat though so good ventilation is needed.

The only downfall to the 9070 I have experienced so far is the remote. Its small type is hard to read, impossible in the dark, and has almost no contrast to the color of the remote. The LCD screen might as well not be there, its only function is to display what mode the remote is in, and even then it only stays on for a few seconds. Not to mention that the screen, nor any of the buttons is backlit. The remote feels cheap in comparison, and should have a more user friendly appeal. Luckily my universal remote covers the basic volume functions so once my settings were locked in I rarely have use for the remote.

Overall a great receiver for the price.
