Toshiba brand replacement. Too expensive and they can only be expected to last about a year with normal battery use. [$$$] is a rip for a few cheap Li-ion cells, but when they die, you have no choice but to replace them. You would think they would either last longer or be priced lower.

Evaluate your needs carefully before buying this TV .......2006-11-23

If you are planning to set this TV on the kitchen counter or put it in the infants bedroom, this little TV is probably just what the doctor or-dered, but if you need a compact unit that will let you connect that left-over DVD/VCR recorder, WITHOUT having a set of ugly cables hanging off of
the front, I recommend that you look at something else. I most STRONGLY suggest that you read the reviews by "Pigumon" and "LotteryMan43". They,
collectively, have identified the negative characteristics that make this
TV a "less than desireable" value.

This is a great all around small tv for the price. My only complaint will not matter to most people, it is a cheap, small tv after all.

It has Front Mono A/V inputs only. If you want to hook up a VCR or DVD player to this, you're gonna have wires hanging out of the front of the tv, and you're only going to get the left channel of the soundtrack. E.G. If someone is speaking only through the right speaker in a movie, or there's an explosion on the right only, you're not gonna hear it. If you want both channels of your movie, you can buy a y-splitter/combiner at radio shack for about $5. Many VCRs & DVD players have the old style coax cable, so you can hook this up in the back of the tv to get both channels of sound, but the picture quality is not as good... this is a fair work around. If you don't have the coax on your VCR/DVD, then you'll have to deal with the "half" sound.

I don't think it makes much sense to put the inputs only on the front. Front inputs are generally for temporary comnnections- showing pics from a digital carmera, hooking up a handheld video game system, etc. Usually there's a rear input for more permanent connections like a VCR or DVD player.

CAUTION - HARD DRIVE CRASH ISSUES.......2006-04-09

My computer began having recurrent "serious errors" within a few weeks of purchase. The hard drive crashed soon after, the CD-ROM never worked.
Toshiba outsources tech support and you must drop off and pick up your own device. It helps to be proactive - the facility they initially referred me to needed 3 weeks. A second facility did the work in a week. They diagnosed the problem as soon as I walked in the door - they had several other Toshibas already there with the same problem!

Best Laptop for mobility.......2005-08-11

I bought the M55-S325 laptop 2 1/2 weeks ago. This is my 5th laptop that I've owned (and my 3rd Toshiba Satellite), and it's by far the best one I've ever used.

LIKES:
The screen is fantastic - absolutely beautiful resolution (almost mesmerizing!) for graphics, videos and games. And although it's very shiny when turned off, I don't notice any glare (or mirror-affect) from the screen when it's turned on. I particularly like the wide-screen for spreadsheet and database work -- you can view a lot more on the screen. I thought maybe webpages and other applications may have a problem with wide-screen format, but I have not run into any problems whatsoever so far.

Also, the screen is VERY sturdy when open. It is not "flimsy" at all (unlike the Gateways or IBM Thinkpad). Such as, if you tap the back of the screen with your finger, it doesn't "jiggle" one iota. Try doing that to any other "lightweight" laptop... you'll get a slight "jiggle". This is particularly irritating if you're in a moving plane, train or car... the screen can vibrate much more so than the laptop itself. Some laptop screens will even give a bit if you try to slightly move the corners of it in opposite directions. Those are ones to avoid! But this Toshiba screen is solid as a rock.

The keyboard is the best laid-out keyboard I've ever used. I love the way the Home/PgUp/PgDn/End keys are placed -- they are easily accessible all in one column on the right, and can be used without looking at the keyboard. It's a very comfortable keyboard with enough room to rest the palms of your hands. The keys also have a slight "texture" to them, so your fingers don't slide off of them as much.

The sound/speakers are reasonable for a laptop. I've heard slightly better (from a Gateway laptop) but I've heard far worse as well. The volume is very adequate (some laptops, particularly Sony VAIOs, aren't loud enough for me).

The weight and size of the laptop is outstanding! I have carpel-tunnel in my right hand (from too much mousing!) and I can lift and support this laptop without any problem with that hand. That's something I can't do with most laptops, so that was the "weight" test for me -- I wanted something light enough to pick up with one hand, like a real "notebook".

An added benefit -- the adapter cord is a little longer than most -- so I can plug it into a wall and sit comfortably in the middle of my living room without having the restriction of too short of a cord.

Battery life -- I've had the laptop on battery power for 4 1/2 hours today, and I still have 57% power left on the battery (it's the standard battery that comes with the laptop). Not bad!

DISLIKES:
Not much to dislike! I at first missed the "touch-button" mouse that Toshiba used to have on the Satellites, but I soon got over missing that with the use of the touch-pad mouse.

The spot where you rest your right-hand while typing gets a little warm after awhile. It's not bad by any means (it doesn't get hot enough to even cause uncomfortableness, although there's warnings in the documentation that it will get "hot"). As long as you give it some breathing room once in a while underneath the laptop, it's totally not a problem. I have it on my lap right now, on my bare legs, and it's warm, but not overly hot.

The only other slight dislike I have is that the memory-stick slot has a very tiny removable rubber covering that is entirely too loose, and it's not attached to the laptop. I haven't lost it yet, but it's an event just waiting to happen someday. In fact, when I took the laptop out of the box, the first thing that happened was this little rubber thingie came off in my hand. I thought about just leaving it off, but since I don't use the memory sticks that often, I'd rather keep protect it as much as I can from dust.

That's it! I highly recommend this laptop to anyone, particularly those who have to lug a laptop around to classes or meetings.

Awesome Improvement.......2003-12-14

My picture was very snowy until I switched to the Z300. Now the picture on my TV is so crisp and clear. The Z300 has great shielding which blocked the interference form the rest of my cables. The Z300 is also built solid. If you already have good picture, the Z300 may not help. But for optimum picture quality and protection from interference, the Z300 is awesome.

I bought this product expecting the same great results that I have seen with other monster products, but I feel a little let down. The cable is excellently made, and very high quality, but the results are lacking. There was very little change in the reception of my cable tv. Maybe I was expecting too much from this cable, but I could see almost no difference. I would definatly expect greater improvement for the cost of this cable. I would definatly recommend all monster products that I have purchased, but I don't think I would buy this cable again.

I hate to add to the whining...but it's true. This phone has some very nice features, combined with what I think is a defective charging circuit inherent in the design. I had my phone "repaired" by Panasonic once. The battery difficulties returned. I have spent half what I paid for the phone on new battery packs. I have even used external equipment to measure and charge the packs. To no avail! As soon as you rely on the phone to maintain the battery's charge, the batteries fail. I'm surprised that Panasonic keeps feeding this dog to the marketplace. Let's hope these reviews alert people to avoid this product.

I'm very surprised by all the negative comments. We bought this phone a month ago and think it's great. No battery problems at all. We find the phone is user friendly and intuitive to use. The features are 100% what we wanted and work perfectly. If there is a better phone with these features, I'd like to know what it is.

The battery life is so poor ( <20 min) that nothing else need be known about this phone. Avoid it.

Doesn't Hold Charge.......2003-09-17

Had my phone for about a year now and it never has held a charge for more than 20 minutes of talk time. From day one I charged the phone over night for about 15 hours and found the unit would display "Recharge" after about 15 to 20 minutes of use. After a couple of months I purchased a new battery and the problem was not fixed. Now a friend of mine with the same phone is having the exact same problem after only 2 months. There is definetly a problem with the design of this phone. AVOID THIS PHONE !!!

where's the battery life they promised?.......2003-06-28

I bought this phone in September 2002 the exchanged because I thought I had a lemon. The second was just as bad. The battery just doesn't last. I had to leave it charging when not in use or it world start to beep after a few hours of use. Other then that I like it. I almost forgot I called the company and they sent me some paded stickers to stick on the battery to "help extend the battery life."
