These Street Style headphones employ the comfortable and stable behind-the-neck design. They have a non-slip design, making them ideal for exercise or for a walk to the corner market. Sony has installed several technical features to the headphones to ensure a quality listening experience. The thirty millimeter drive units are large for portable headphones, and deliver deep bass, low distortion and a wide frequency response range (16 - 20,000 Hz). Sony's Acoustic Twin Turbo circuit achieves high sonic output by utilizying sound chamber and duct technology. Neodymium magnets give the headphones maximum energy at a minimal size and weight, while the oxygen-free copper cord provides high conductivity and minimum noise. The gold-plated stereo mini-plug makes sure that sound is transported fully and accurately. The gold-plated treatment also helps resist corrosion and supports the headphones' high conductivity and low noise. The five foot long, single-sided cord is plenty long for active pursuits.

Stock garbage.......2006-06-15
These headphones come standard ("stock") with most of Sony's new CD player sets, and I must say- they are frustrating. Not only is the entire premise racist and retarded ("street style" headphones) but these headphones are very poor.
Sound Quality: The only saving grace of the MDR-G52LP, the sound quality is only medicore (with some decent highs but very poor lows and mids). The bass response is simply not enough for most types of music and as said prior, the lows are poorly performed- giving you stagnant, high-trebble, poppy sound quality.
Quality and Design: Perhaps the worst designed headphones I could forsee being created. Not only are they painful and unbearable for long periods of time (And only usable while sitting and standing up, dont even try to use these laying down or leaning against something) but the cheap clothe like material on each phone is susceptible to damage, producing a painful grind on your ears. The non-flexible plastic design produces some major upper back and neck pain for use for longer then an hour or so and I often found the headphones literally falling off my head. They are designed for one head archtype, obviously not mine. All in all, you will find your set either damaged or dead by the end of a year- mine are 2 years old and are basically garbage (although i have a set of Sennheiser HD-212s coming tommorow!), the plastic bent, scratched up and the ear coverings destroyed.
Using the Sony MDR-G52LPs: Like Sony claims, they are very effective for exercising (Especially jogging or power walking, benching and kung fu) but are not exactly a tight fit and have to be readjusted every 20 or 30 minutes of movement. The headphones offer a medicore gaming experience audio-wise but are unbearable for durations longer then 2 hours. Most of the time you will not want to listen to music while sitting or lounging about through your MDRs simply due to the uncomfortable posture you are forced to be in (With your neck straight at all times). THe MDRs are ideal for traveling- easily compacted into a small, thin space and taking up little weight. I ussualy use them for situations in which I dont want my studio headphones to be damaged or dirty, for trips, riding around, hanging out with people etc.
All in all the Sony MDR-G52LP racist style headphones have some serious flaws and unless you are using them just as a cheap pair to jog/exercise with, their basically a paperweight.
Fashionably Uncomfortable.......2006-05-19
I consider myself something of an expert on Sony's MDR-G52LP Street Style headphones since I've gone through four of them. That's part of the joy of inexpensive headphones, that they're like pencils - you use one until it's worn down, then you go get another.
There are joyful elements to the G52s, namely the use of Sony's tried-and-true 30mm drivers, here again providing a reasonably well-balanced performance with adequate bass inexpensively. High frequencies are slightly dulled, but it's still better overall than anything from competitors in it's price range, and a huge improvement over the cheap units included in-box with portables.
But then comes the wearing down. Across many reviews, the chief complaint against the behind-the-head design in general is pinching of the ears. Despite the headphones being a comfortable fit otherwise, the ear-rests, which sit on the ear like glasses, somehow always manage to tweak the top of the ear. I used the G52s for many months hoping that either the headphones or my ears would eventually yield, to no avail; even to this day, putting on a pair of Street Style headphones is an irritating experience.
Should you choose to grin and bear it over the long-term, the foam padding covering the drivers will begin to crumble roughly a year out. Having the foam start to fail after a long while on headphones isn't too uncommon or such a big deal, but in this instance, it literally *crumbles*. You won't have much Street Style when you take off your headphones and it looks like topsoil is coming out of your ears.
In the end, the G52s are just a bit too much style over substance. Judging by the somber reviews of the new generation of Street Style headphones, plus the fact that the portable revolution is being heard through earbuds, the design is most likely headed for extinction. There'll always be a place in the future for Sony's venerable 30mm driver, it just won't be behind the ear.
Uncomfortable, poor sound.......2005-11-21
I purchased these headphones to replace the cheap stock earphones that came with my CD player. Their design looked interesting, and knowing that Sony was a reputable manufacturer, I picked them up.
The design is somewhat different from your usual headphones, with a unique, "behind the head" design so as not to mess up your 'do. Unfortunately, despite their stylishness, these headphones provide generally poor sound reproduction and worse, are very uncomfortable after even a short while.
The sound: Naturally, for $20, I wasn't expecting audiophile-quality sound, but I was still disappointed. The bass response was notably weak, although this could be remedied by increasing the bass on the CD player. The midrange and highs were neither too loud nor too quiet, but that's not the problem. The problem is that the headphone driver is weak, and the headphones themselves leak a lot of sound, which means you have to turn up your player in order to achieve a decent volume level. At this point, their weakness becomes apparent, as they can't handle higher volumes without introducing horrendous distortion. Bass intrudes into the midrange, and the sound becomes crackly and blaring, particularly noticeable when listening to opera records. Furthermore, higher bass levels caused the right phone to begin rattling, which I was unable to remedy and it became extremely irritating.
Comfort: These headphones have a pair of rubber molds that fit behind your ears in order to hold snugly against your head. Unfortunately, this resulted in my ears becoming extremely irritated, and using them for upwards of an hour (required to listen to a CD all the way through) became quite painful. The design seemed to favor style over substance, which is a big minus in my book.
Verdict: These are a decent pair of headphones, but you'd be better off spending a little bit more and buying some portable headphones from a company like Sennheiser.
save your money.......2005-06-21
Sony is definitely trendy and known for its quality products and this is a quality product but only for a short time. After a while you are going to run into problems. Whether that be the sound cutting in and out or the earmuffs deteroirating. If you don't mind spending 20 dollars on headphones every six months I guess you should go with this product if you are like me who is looking for a headphone set that you can use today, a year from now, and can use it not just for portable devices (i.e. your computer) - then pass on these.

This is a great sounding, excellent fitting, durable pair of headphones. Which is why when the foam that surrounds the earpieces wore off I looked around for a replacement. From Sony those little foam pads cost 15.95 A PIECE... Did I also mention that you have to pay 6.95 in shipping? Ridiculeous...They have not heard the last of me ;-)

i've learned through trial and error that panasonic makes some of the best phones on the market. these are no exception, especially for the price. they are crystal clear and have many of the features you will find on their more expensive models, such as speaker phone, call-waiting caller id, phone book, etc. i've never felt the need to use a head-set on a house phone, so the absence of that feature is no big deal. they are a bit smaller than some of panasonic's other phones, but in an "ipod sort-of-way" that makes them cooler.

This phone is everything I needed. It is crystal clear,has all the features I wanted, and is very reasonably priced for the value. The extra handset is a real plus because it only needs a.c. power for the charger and does not have to be installed where a phone jack is. Therefore, it can be placed anywhere you need another phone.
It works great as an intercom, and has a paging feature handset to handset. I was in the attic searching boxes and talking to my wife downstairs. Last week I also used it to talk to a TV repairman who was on the roof tuning my antenna while I watched the reception inside the house and was able to tell him when it was a perfect picture.
All in all, I am 99.9% satisfied. If I were improving it, I would probably add a earphone jack.However,the phone has an excellent handset speakerphone, which I use on almost every call, particularly on those long-wait automated answering devices. Callers can hear me perfectly (I ask them) and the speaker sound is great. (Unfortunately,They can also hear my wife even in the other recliner.)

I previously had a VTech expandable phone system. I loved the convenience of the features, but people used to tell me they couldn't hear me very clearly. It also went through batteries in no time. I finally broke down and bought this new phone system, and it's a vast improvement. I'm told the sound is much clearer. One feature I was looking for was a visible voicemail message indicator light, which this one has. (It's not the default setting, though. I had to go through a few steps to set it up.) I love the ability to copy my phonebook to the other handset at the touch of a button. My only complaint is that you can't add additional phonesets. It came with one expansion handset, but that's all it will take. I would have liked to have the option of adding more, but I guess I'll live. The signal range is quite good, and I'm very happy with this purchase. If this is your price range, you should be very satisfied with this phone system.

How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.
The Smart Modular 64MB PCCARD ATA TYPE I-FL CARD, like most 64MB cards, will store on average 71 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 53 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 32 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 25 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 20 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.
I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

The built-in digital answering machine has a 15-minute maximum recording time, with a 1 or 4-minute selectable maximum message length. You can access the answering machine from any registered handset, while remote message retrieval lets you keep on top of your messages even when you are away from home. Memo and conversation recording allow you to quickly record important information such as phone numbers or directions, and a built-in calendar with programmable reminders helps you to stay organized. This expandable base system is compatible with Uniden handset models ELX500, TCX400, TCX440, and TCX805. However, only the ELX500 is compatible with Bluetooth.

Love this phone. It is everything it promises to be. The only small thing that could use some improvement is the speaker quality, but not a big deal. Great technology overall and highly recommended!
Bluetooth didn't work and software isn't Mac compatible.......2006-08-25
When I received my phone, the battery was defective. I ordered a replacement battery but still could not pair the phone to anything (I have plenty of experience with bluetooth pairing). Top it all off with the fact that the software only works on Windows, my only option to load phonebook entries into this phone would be manual entry. The interface of the flip phone was something out of the 1990s -- kludgy and childish. The available ring tones are from the same generation. Aside from the technical problems that I encountered, I thought this was a pretty lousy phone.
Great Phone.......2006-04-13
I bought this phone about a year ago when it first came out. Having been "hooked" by Bluetooth headsets when they first came out on the Ericsson T68i Cellphone, I was anxious to try a Desktop phone with buetooth.
I have not been disappointed with this phone. It pairs simply and successfully with Both my Jabra BT 500, as well as my BT 250V. I can literally be sitting at my desk at my home office, on a concall on the land line (uniden), and taking another call in the other ear from the cell phone (blackberry). This is great since being in software I have lots and lots of con calls to be on each day.
If I had one complaint, it would be battery life on the handset. I only seem to get about three hours of continuous talktime. The Jabra outlasts the handset 2.5 times!
Oh, and one other thing, while Bluetooth technology claims a distance of 10 meters, I have never been able to get this from a cell phone, not that big of a deal, as the phone is usually in the laptop bag or clipped to the belt. The uniden however, on a Bluetooth call, allows me to go from my office, all the way to my mailbox. Office is at the back of the house, so this is WAAAAAAY more than 10 meters. Has anyone else experienced this? I am wondering if you get more distance since the phone is plugged into an AC power source. All in all, this is a great phone, and I highly recommend it!
Works as a 2-line phone when registered w/ TRU-8866.......2006-02-28
I purchased this handset so that I could use my bluethooth headset with my Uniden 2-line TRU-8866 home phone system. The bluetooth headset worked as expected with the handset. The bonus is that I was able to register this handset with my 2-line TRU-8866 base station and the handset allows me access to both lines!
Uniden is doing a great job on these multi-handset / multi-line 5.8ghz phone sets!
Great implementation and easy to use.......2005-09-20
I have this phone paired with a Plantronics M2500 headset. The talk quality is great and while the distance is limited to about 10 feet, it is ok for me as long as you can use the belt clip to take the handset along for the ride.
The phone is very intuitive for those that have used cellphones in the past and I was able to do most of the set up without even looking at the manual. I had to refer to the manuals for bluetooth pairing and a few features that I could not make out, but within an hour, I had the phone set up, and even proceeded to record my own ringtones which is a nice feature. Just wish I could copy the same ring tones to the base.
For this first implementation of the bluetooth enabled home phone, I am pleasantly surprised that Uniden did such a fine job.

What do you expect for ($$)?.......2002-12-03
This is a cheap phone. I bought this one at local store for ($$$), minus the rebate. I've owned it for about a month now.
Let's get down to business - the phone I have uses the same circuitry as this one but is styled differently, kind of a futuristic style, really. It has a volume switch, a scan button to get a better channel, a redial button, page, memory button, a flash button, and a pause button. Not to mention the headset jack!
I love the compact base on this phone, but when it comes down to it, it dosen't sound as good as my other cordless phones (I own 7).
For one thing, unless the other person talks loud, it's hard to hear them. Raising the volume helps, but it's still hard to hear some callers. The manual is short and shows mediocre English skills, but this phone is easy to use and setup. The fit and finish is very good, and could compete with some uptown phones in the ($$$) range.
The wall mount bracket is unuseful, as the phone is unsteady if it's hanging on the wall. Of course, I use it as a desktop cordless phone, so it dosen't matter.
Overall, this is fine for calling up the bank info line, or calling time and temperature. I use it to answer the phone, and if it isn't a telemarketer, I can get on my other cordless to talk. However, it's not a good primary phone.

I just bought this online from one of the Warehouse Clubs.
Came in a box with a built in handle, good for transport. The monitor has some nice settings for 'warm/cool' color temp along with a neat 'auto' button which auto-sets image levels.
I'm running 1280x1024 on a 32meg video card with no problems, DVD looks great, text detail is excellent, sharp from corner to corner. No dead pixels at all. The base isn't adjustable for height...oh well, can't have everything for $299.
NOTE: Some people complain of poor text quality on LCD monitors. Don't be a dummy like them: You HAVE to adjust the font smoothing, resolution, brightness, and color depth on LCD screens to bring out the best when using Windows XP. Mine looked weird at first, a few minutes of playing with settings it made a huge difference.
Don't pay hundreds more for a 19", this is a nice one...
